  • Oh dear. Weigh in tomorrow. *shudders*
  • You'll be fine.
  • More quinoa tonight (finishing off my delicious concoction from last night). I quite like it, it was either quinoa or cous cous for the recipe so I don't think it made too much difference.

Had a meeting with a nice Czech blokey this afternoon. Far nicer than most of our clients! Then ended up going to pick my boss's son up from nursery (with her, I wasn't kidnapping him!) on the way home which annoyed me a bit because it was easier for her but meant I got back to the office later than I would have done (after 5) than I would have done if we'd gone straight back.

I have to have a new photo taken at work for marketing stuff, the photo they have at the moment is about a year old and my boss has vetoed me using it!
  • I finally managed to get to my computer. We had the new bathroom put in today and the first thing they did was tell me to turn off the 'puter in case they needed to turn off the electricity.

Eating and exercise all went a bit wrong. It was supposed to be a low cal day but because I didn't have any electricity at lunch time I had to have what was available in the fridge BUT, because Fred wouldn't stop growling at the plumbers, I took them out for a 13 mile walk in the sleet and piercing wind - and he still growled at them when we got back. I don't understand why he was growling - it is just so not like Fred, he's usually a scaredycat who hides behind me or George.

They are finally gone and the new bathroom stuff looks great - now Kevin has got to tile and decorate the inbetween bits.

I've now had quinoa twice - the first time I just cooked it without toasting it first and I hated it - the second time I dryfried it for a couple of minutes and it made all the difference, it gave it a lovely nutty flavour.

GASP, SHOCK - Kevin actually admitted tonight that he enjoyed the lentil curry side dish I made to go with our spicy fish on spinach and brown basmati rice! I might convert him to beans and stuff yet.
  • I've had cous cous every day since Sunday as I made so much of it.

I don't like beans and stuff they look funny I love houmous though but hate chickpeas I refuse to believe those funny looking things are in lovely houmous. Mmm houmous.
  • Eeeeeh Veggie you're a one!

I'm battling the blues tonight! I just CAN'T BE BOTHERED! I've done some arm weights that you'd think would make me feel good, but no! I do have Wol & Grom on DVD so I might curl up with that after a decent soak and chill out. I'm so frustrated that I don't know WHY I'm blue! Gah! If the cat had died, I'd at least have a reason!

I was feeling highly caffeinated this afternoon and was looking forward to coming home to a mega workout, but after I'd had my dinner I was so demotivated since the house is FREEZING and DF is staying out at the pub. I did some weights anyway, just not the ones I'd planned
  • I love beans - butterbeans are my favourite and I like chickpeas as long as they are properly cooked, a lot of the tinned ones are a bit undercooked and come up dry tasting. Homemade houmous is great and dead easy to make (works out a LOT cheaper than the shop bought).

I've given up with the idea of the exercise bike today - there's too much stuff in the way to get to it ... maybe tomorrow.
  • Awww never mind Frus at least you did something

I'm revamping my gym (again ) to make more room so I can do my exercise vid's up here (sometime ) I decided to put my bike in front of the computer so i'd at least peddle away while i'm yapping to you well..off I go and I thought "This thing is clunking a bit" then clunk the chain came off it so i've got that in bits now I thought I was going to have to send for Frus for a minute but I can manage I just need to adjust the front wheel to tighten the chain I need to get on it too..the easter eggs are ganging up on me and I bought a six pk of caramel/creme eggs had two last night and FOUR this morning so i'd better get peddaling
  • Huh that 'fix' turned into a major overhaul the thing has been neglected for so long that the pedals were all sloppy of course it was a reverse thread so instead of tightening it up I was undoing it and the bearings were coming out but..with a minimum of tools (that husband of mine always takes them and never puts them back ) I managed to fix it so i'm here peddaling away I stink of WD40 though
  • I love beans, I barely go through a day without them. And chickpeas - they were in my lovely quinoa stuff tonight too.

But, in a major development on the bean front, I got through an entire yoga session without farting There's a first time for everything And I did my best shoulder stand yet

I'm currently getting very excited about a load of organic/veggie/wholefood shops and cafes I've found in the city centre. I guess they've always been there (or since I've been in Leeds) but I've never really noticed them. Which is a little embarassing as one is opposite where I get off the bus and one is opposite where I get back on it... Anyway, I seem to be turning more and more vegetarian by the week, and I like the idea of getting fresh, locally grown, organic veg so I'm going to spend some time checking them all out to see which one is nicest. I'm also fanatically trying to plan my eating for the weekend - not calorie wise but just trying to get the most nutritious form of carb loading for my run that I can come up with and then a lovely "treat feast" for when I've finished of stuff that I wouldn't usually have but is still fairly healthy, maybe even a meal out at a local moroccan place I've been fancying for a while an which has a three course meal offer on Sundays.
  • I feel floaty light.

    *Sigh*
    I luff that man!
(David Walliams from Little Britain, if you wondered! I met him tonight and he hugged me twice... BLESS!)
    Mands xx
  • Quote: I got through an entire yoga session without farting
    Hehehe!
  • Ooh nice pic you had a good time then?!
  • OH yeah. David couldn't have been nicer! Well, he could've but it would involve taking me back to his hotel room!

It was amazing. And to think I wasn't going to bother after the strop he had on last time!
  • I'm about to dash out to work. I had a great run yesterday 45 minute, 3 miles. I have discovered that running (well jogging) at 5 miles an hour is easier than 4.7!! I hope to increase my running sessions to an hour, then work on pace. It's more endurance that I am concerned about at the moment. I am suprised how much fun I am having running. I'll remember that feeling when it just feels like hard work.

I adore beans, and little chickpeas, they're lovely. And cheap!!! I haven't seen many veggie or organic places in Manchester. i think they are in some of the trendier suburbs, not out here though!!! Meat city up in t'hills!!!

Frus, I hope your funk lifts soon. I have those times too, when I just feel rotten and unmotivated. Blame the weather, once it warms up a bit, I am sure you'll feel better.

Oh and last night after my run I had a spa. Which I count as an achievement. One spa was full, the other had two spaces but was full of men. I went straight in there without a second thought. The old me would have scooted straight to the shower and gone home.
