Janey - enjoy your meals out, you've worked so hard, you've got to let your hair down sometimes, after all, life is still out there and there's always events to catch us out at every turn. If you're good during the day and try and keep some cals back for the evening, you should be ok - even if you maintain, you won't put all your weight back on. Have fun

Did my 10 mins jogging/dying again this morning - when does it start to get easier? Ever??? It was a lovely morning though and the mist was rising off the lake as we jogged (puffing and panting) past, very picturesque.

I went swimming this morning, and did 40 lengths, a world record for me!!! And a lot of it back stroke, I am trying to target my alarming bingo wings, which to be honest resemble pterodactyl wings!!! Lets hope by September they are mere eagles wings!

I am off to the gym this arvo, did some cardio yesterday boke, treadmill and cross trainer, tackling the killer leg weight sets tonight. I have to up the weights, so if I can't walk tomorrow to get to the computer, send out a search party!!!

I have just started relaxing about eating out. Big girl gives good advice. I tend to have a healthy main, and then a not too naughty sweet, which I do Frus style with MOTH. That way I don't feel so deprived. I love my sweets!!!! Alas so do my hips!

I'm not very good at eating out, I still get into the mindset that I'm out and I'm gonna darn well enjoy myself, which in my twisted brain is eating far too much, feeling uncomfortable for hours afterwards - usually accompanied by wind - and days of regret - why oh why?

Although, I have to say I am getting a bit better, I no longer have a dessert that I either don't want or am too full to eat, it's a step in the right direction

Back on the treadmill, ran 2 miles then topped it up to 5km (I know, I'm mixing my measurements...) walking most of the rest and jogging the last 500 metres. I managed it in under 38 minutes which isn't the best I've done it by a long way, but I've not been able to run for weeks and weeks because of my foot, so I'm glad I've got started again. Then I had a nice 30 minute swim, and all before work.

Strange how going to the gym turns into a habit. We were meant to be having end of financial year celebration drinks tonight. I had driven half way to the gym before I realised I'd allowed myself a morning off so I could go in on the bus and drink. I decided to go to the gym anyway, and was rewarded by the drinks being cancelled and moved to tomorrow instead.

I can't run......I can't seem to co ordinate it, so I climb mountains on my treadmill at the gym instead. I managed to climb 200 feet yesterday. Today I did weights, lower body one day then a day of cardio then upper body. Sounds like a plan. My calves killed me today (is the plural of your calf muscle calfs or calves she ponders??) I pushed 52 kilos with my little fat calf muscles, then had to do calf raises, and it hurt!!! Which is good, because when I first did it on Monday it didn't hurt and CGI (cute gym instructer) nagged at me to up the intensity, which I have done.

I also swum and swum this morning, and did back stroke, to celebrate the purchase of my push em down and hold em in swimsuit!!!!

Guys - do you mind - I'm exhausted now just reading your messages

I'll just very quietly, so no-one notices, post my piddly exercise effort for the day (10 mins rebounding - written in a whisper)

I'll probably walk the dog this evening as it looks like being nice

OK, so this morning I ran 1km in 7 minutes, did a full weights session and then a 40 minute swim. I was going to run further, but I changed my mind and decided to go for weights instead.

Because I didn't do too much cardio type stuff this morning I'm now feeling like I need to stretch my legs so as it's a nice night I might have a bit of a jog outside, possibly (but probably not) followed by my yoga dvd.

Or I might just sit in and watch tv and mess around on the internet...

Went for a 30 minute walk this evening, with dog & my daughter, which was really nice as it was such a pleasant evening & we kept up a steady pace.

I wore a pedometer for the first time today and at the moment I've done 9788 steps, so I should managed the 10,000 by bed-time - even if I do have to walk around the bedroom a couple of times to get there

Just back from my jog to/round the park. I'm getting better, I jogged most of the long way there rather than all of the short way, then jogged about half way round a one mile path round the park. It was really lovely, with nice light and lovely views across the lake. It did make me realise that I'll have to go down there more often before the Race for Life - that's where I'm doing it and I'm getting worried about the size of some of the hills, so had better get practising! Then I walked back.

I'm also wearing a pedometer today, I take it off for the gym but wear it for any outside jogs/walks, so I'm well over 15000 steps today. I usually manage about 8 - 9,000, but that excludes the stuff I do at the gym so I'm not bothered about being less than 10,000.

Whew, there're some real Duracell Bunnies posting in this thread at the moment ! You go, girls!!

Just finished my jogging session on the rebounder - 57 minutes, my longest session so far. Yay me! Now it's time for a Solero and a soak in the bath.

Kind regards, Janey

Half an hour of my "chill out yoga" dvd and I'm chilled and ready for bed now! Third or fourth time through (well, I've made it all the way through and done the first half three or four times) and I'm definitely getting better at some of the positions, although I suspect they'd be easier without a belly in the way!

Everything would be easier without a belly in the way!!!! I hate the leg press at the gym (although my tummy has diminished and it's easier now) even my gym instructor had to laugh as all my rolls of fat pushed my legs out again.

I swum yesterday morning, and in the afternoon did an hour cardio at the gym. I also did a heap of clearing out, I got rid of all my old cookbooks (anything that had more than 50% off plan recipes went - apart from the two fat ladies and how to be domestic goddess.....)

I'm up early for my swim. I have either the beginnings of a cold or hayfever but am using frus' above the neck rule!!! If your symptoms are above the neck, keep exercising, if below, rest.

Morning all

Feeling very proud of myself as I got up for my jog this morning at 6, and I really just wanted to roll over and stay in bed, but I made myself get and I'm glad I did. For the first time I saw an improvement this morning, still had to walk loads but I definately ran further this morning, which has really cheered me up this morning. I was beginning to think I just couldn't do it and it wouldn't get any easier, so it was nice to run a bit more, and it is still early days, it's only my second week of jogging (and I'm not going every day) and bear in mind I did nothing before, so very unfit person.

Well done to everyone, keep up the good work and have a good day all.

So, today we have...

5km on the treadmill without walking a step of it. 35 minutes and 20 seconds. 2nd time I've run all the way, but hopefully the start of being able to do it on a more regular basis.

Then as my legs recovered from being turned to jelly I did upper body weights.

Then a 20 minute swim to cool down.

After work another 30 minute swim.

Plus 8500 steps on my pedometer so far (which doesn't include the running).

Yesterday I swum in the morning 40 lengths again, and did an hour of upper body weights. I can really feel it today, my arms feel like they have been cut off and sewn back on again!!!! I'll head to gym this afternoon for some quiet cardio.
