I can proudly join in this thread now (see my post on May chatter) as I've finally started exercising again.
I did 10 mins jogging yesterday morning and this morning. Doesn't sound a lot does it 10 mins, but it's nearly killed me. I was especially proud of myself going this morning as I was already aching from the day before and tired and it took a mammoth effort to get up at 6 and go out. but I did it, only thing now is I'm so stiff and aching i can barely walk, seriously! So I'm giving it a miss tomorrow morning, give my body time to recover (from the shock too), but I'm going to go out cycling on Saturday morning.
well done dotty, im going to get DH to scrub up my eldest daughters bike for me to use, so hopefully he'll sort it out over the weekend while im working, so its ready for me to use next week, ive got a few days off next weektues-fri, so plenty time to practise while kids are at school
Flipping Heck 20 miles Frus and Dotty 10 minutes is a lot! i've just done 2 miles on my and in 36 mins I only managed to incorporate 2 X 1.5min Jogs @ 5mph
Wow Janey - 40 mins rebounding, that's some bouncing girl!!! Makes me exhausted just thinking about it I can only manage about 10.
Didn't do any jogging today, I was still so stiff & achey from the last couple of days and I felt my poor body needed a rest. I went for a 40 minute walk this evening with my daughter and our dog, but it was at a very gentle pace, helped loosen me up a bit up though. Plan tomorrow is to go for a good bike ride, but depends on the weather - the forecast is good though.
I went tot he gym this morning, it was full of teenagers!!!!!!! Arrrrrrrrrghhhhhhhhh now I know why I don't go on Saturday mornings. But I really enjoyed it, and I did some weights, which I normally hate, but because the youngsters were there I felt more secure in what I was doing, which seems strange. I guess it was so busy I felt like people weren't looking at me. Not seen cute gym instructor this week
Kyk, well done for not hightailing it out of there when you saw all those teenagers...I would have been tempted to run for cover!
I've just finished my longest rebounding session to date - 54 minutes to punk music with a good driving beat. I felt great! My new sports bra has made rebounding a real pleasure - no more unruly udders to put me off my stride or give me a bad back! Despite my miserly misgivings, it was definitely £30 well spent...I'll never exercise without a top quality sports bra ever again!
Ms Dippy, where did you purchase your pneumatic bolster holder?? I got one at Marks and Spencer, and it was good for a while, but it seems to have lost its hold. I can't wait to get a little bit smaller around the back, so I can get some fancy ones.
My exercise today was a 4.2 mile walk with Kim - we do it every so often and it usually takes us around 70 minutes. Today, because the thunderheads were building and we saw lightning flashes on the horizon we did it in 58 minutes - I was forcing my little legs to go faster , and I was more knackered than I usually am after an hour's taebo! We walked too fast to properly enjoy it, but at least it's out of the way! Now I'm about to hit Sainsbury's to stock up on my fruit and veggies for the week!!
Well done Janey - you're going great guns there, keep up the good work
I bought myself another sports bra yesterday, same as the previous one, from JJB Sports, they didn't have a massive selection, but I only need a Level 3 (for my little fella's), that's enough even for jogging, it's nice and comfy and seems to keep everything in place
I also bought some running trainers yesterday, now I've got to commit to my jogging, I've got the shoes an' everything! I've been wearing my old trainers but there's no padding or comfort left in them, so I decided if I'm going to do it, get some decent trainers. I have to say though I couldn't justify the top of the range ones with their £70 plus price tags - I'm not training for the marathon after all. Or should I say, more to the point, I couldn't persuade hubby to fork out So now I'm raring to go
The only thing with going into a sports shop and buying something like running trainers, I felt a bit of a fraud - you know, fat girl obviously wanting to be thin. I'd love to go in there and buy something sporty and look like I do the sport I'm buying for. I think the same when I shop at Tesco's, some days my trolley is so damn healthy, I'd love to be a good advert for it all, you know - people look at me and think oh she looks so good, but look how healthily she eats/how fit she is - aah well - one day, maybe
Anyway, yesterday morning and this morning, we went for a 3 mile bike ride, at a steady pace, which according to Fitday burnt off just over a 100 cals, so pleased with that. It was really nice and sunny first thing (bit overcast now) so it was really nice. We're lucky we live close to a lake which leads to some lovely cycle paths, and so hardly have to go on the roads at all.
Back to jogging tomorrow, when I can get up at 6 as there's just about no-one around then, apart from the occasional dog walker, whereas by 8.30 this morning the lake was full of fishermen, god I'd have scared all the poor fishies away if I'd gone jogging past
