Hi YP1 I am a born again gym bunny too, I got on the "wall of fame" at my gym last month, scarey!!!!! I've done a similar thing to you, eradicated junk, and concentrating on fresh, healthy food. So far so good.
This group is great for when the going gets tough, and even when you are just cruising along, it's nice to have people to chat too.
They've introduced an "member of the month" award at my gym this month, and I'm hoping I'm going to win it some time soon (depending what the prize is of course!), at this rate I won't be far off as it goes on the number of times you visit in the month.
A nice massage would be nice, but it will probably be something really rubbish anyway...
Anyway, I'm feeling good because I got back on the treadmill properly today and I'm working my way back up to 5k.
LOL we don't get a prize, just the "honour" of your name being displayed.
Well done on the treadmill. I'll be doing that tomorrow, it's cardio day! We're nearly twins, got the same start weight, same end weight and are at a similar point in our journey!!!!
I noticed on your blog profile that you were a Gemini!!! LOL, the twinniness continues. And I think you might have talked me into an Ipod shuffle as well!

I love my shuffle, it's so light and easy to use. I can't imagine exercising without it now. I used to use a full size iPod, but I was just so scared of breaking it.
I'm 39 years old and weigh in at 229 pounds so I still have 6½ stones to get shot of to reach my goal weight. The plan is to walk at least 2 miles a day (I'm severely allergic to any form of exercise ) and to eat no more than 1600 kcals. I looked into other ways, but I need the control that counting calories requires, plus it's familiar to me from past efforts. I did get rid of a lot of weight in the past but it found me again and reattached itself with a hefty lump extra to boot.
I have OCD which has its downsides in that it makes things like joining a fat-club or gym next to impossible for me, but it has its upside too; it makes things like joining a fat-club or gym next to impossible for me! I try to avoid people face-to-face as much as possible--it's just too stressful for me... and them.
I came to the Canadian prairies (there doesn't seem to be a smilie for snow!) from NE England for a holiday almost three years ago and ended up staying after meeting a bloke so wonderful I married him 6 weeks later.
Things I miss about England: my sister, my friends, big jars of Marmite , the seaside, the moors, decent pubs, fish 'n' chips, bacon, crisps....
Okay, it's probably just as well that the last three are gopping over here!
Things I love about Canada: my hubby (I thought I'd better put that one first!), the summers (but not the winters), cheaper cost of living, Alberta beef, the friendly people. the festivals (when I'm up to dealing with crowds)....
Okay, I've rambled on enough for now. Pleased to meet you all.

Sorry your daughter has to deal with it too, tootoot. Sometimes I think it's harder on those close to me than it is for me. I'm not too bad as long as I'm able to "act out"!

hiya welcome to insanity and big well done on losing 9lbs
Well here goes. i'm rachel and i'm 21 (22 at the start of July) and i'm in Bingley, West Yorkshire. I just bought my first house - well i started too and just graduated university and got my first real job! Roll on july when i start. CARLSBERG HERE I COME!
Anyway, i've been trying to diet since January 2004 when i started rosemary conley. i lost 1.5 stone before getting glandular fever in april and being too ill. i lost a stone when ill and put it back on. finally started the diet again in december 2004 and lost a stone between then and easter (not a lot i know). managed to get off track with finals and got back on about 2 weeks ago when i started hanging round here.
i currently weigh in at 16st 1 but at 6ft 1 tall people reckon i'm lying but nope obviously not! i'm not married yet but getting married at easter (theoretically) though maybe not as i move to finland or poland in Jan (damn my job).
