 @ Rosie/Holly's new owner! :lol3:

Has anybody tried that new Special K Bliss with the chocolate and strawberry bits? Or any other Special K for that matter? I've never tried it, I have Bran Flakes or Shreddies in the morning but feel kinda bloated so looking for an alternative. I really need something that's quite filling though, can't stand being hungry by 9am! Porridge usually works for me but I just can't be bothered making it most of the time. Please help if you're in the know!

Special K leaves me gnawing my arm off by 8.30am!!!
I like eggs for breakfast :) |
Hello everyone
Hope your feeling better Frus. Your a girl after my own heart don't I just love an egg but only have them at weekends since weekday mornings are a mad rush for me. Last night the girls and I went to Sing-a-long to the Sound of Music, and we all dressed as nuns. Oh it was such a good night. When I was little I always wanted to be a nun but of course I know now I would have problems with the vow of silence and living a chaste life! All day I have been singing how do you solve a problem like Maria, and climb every mountain. Work was busy today so the day flew. I took two fruit loaves into work for the girls. We have our own half ton hospital going on there at the moment. Again I didn't touch it. You would think the fat would be falling off me since I gave up sweets choc biscuits etc but it isn't. I'm in the same boat as Sarah I kind of havent got back into the swing of things since Christmas. Tomorrow my friends and I are going to Brighton to visit a friend of ours. We are going first thing and coming back Sunday afternoon so just a flying visit really. Just deciding what to take. Jeans and definitely vodka!! My Conor was in the District Schools Cup final and lost 3 - 2 in extra time. It is so hard being the mother of a goalie. The little fella isn't sporty at all he is my creative one. Saw my parents this evening my father wasn't in the best of moods. His nextdoor neighbour who must be about 80 told my father that Kitty goes into his bungalow and that he sometimes feeds her. My father said to him Kitty is my cat and I fecking feed her. I said dad there is no need to be rude he said Kitty is my girl and I'll fight him if i have to.!! Jesus he has gone stone mad. He gave me forty pounds to take to Brighton though. I saw my brother too he feels my arms and says you need some work on those triceps Mish. Right I must go and pack my holdall. Take good care everyone Michele |
LOL @ Michelle's Dad beating up the neighbor!!!!
And...LOL @ Sarah and whatever she had to do with those Yorkies??????????????????????? |
RSG.... well.... basically, the owners of the girl Yorkies wanted them to have puppies and my boy Yorkies had very nice pedigrees.... so they used to bring their females to my house (when they were in season) and, well, we let nature take its course... with a bit of help. I didn't buy the boy Yorkies with that in mind but it certainly helped pay the bills for an impoverished mature student - and it didn't impact on my education grant. ;)
Michele, your Dad sounds like such a character. I love the idea of him threatening to beat up his next door neighbour. Sad.... I couldn't sleep so I got up extra early and was out walking the dogs at 5.30... after we got on the Moor I could hear the sound of shooting and shouted that I was in the area and it all went quiet. Then the dogs found a deer that had been shot but wasn't dead, just badly wounded. I phoned the Police and waited for them to arrive but by the time they finally got there the deer was dead. So sad. |
Wana - I'm the same as Frus, Special K just seems to make me hungrier.
|
I used to eat special k all the time when I was fat, haven't touched it since I found more filling stuff like porridge.
RSG - you were right. It's a lovely this morning so I went out for 4.4 miles. Nothing too strenuous though, just a little trot down to the lake and back. Today I want to do some spring cleaning and also go over to bradford to get some more running shoes. The ones I've got still have some life in them but will probably wear out about 2 weeks before the marathon so I want to start wearing some new ones in. |
SHOCKER HELEN....just kidding (good for you)
I'm about to take a walk and then go to this new weight class that I like, but I often can't make it to since Saturdays morning I sometimes have stuff to do. I slept weird though, I hate that at 4 am I was reading my book. Now I'm all kinds of groggy, I'll walk to the gym, it will make me feel better. I have a christening lunch in a pub today but I think I'll eat first so that when I get there I won't go nuts on the bad stuff. I may have a small piece of cake though I've been craving one.... |
RSG - me, too. I don't know what it is about being woken at 4am which stops me going back off to sleep. Maybe its because I got woken by people talking in the road outside which is very unusual here - even so, normally I sleep through anything.  I had to work this morning the PO was very warm - I could feel myself starting to dream..... Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz
|
It's warm and a bit sticky here. Time to show the legs
|
My brain is struggling big time tonight. I'm trying to work out what time I need to wake up, and take account of the clocks changing, and I've just managed to put my alarm clock an hour the wrong way. Good job I noticed or I'd end up turning up for my race at completely the wrong time... I think it's right now. I think it will be an early night to make sure I get enough sleep.

Helen... heavens knows what DH did with his alarm clock - I got a text from him saying he'd got to work an hour early. Have a good time at your race (seems a bit strange saying that - races at school were always miserable for me). RSG - I hope you have a nice time at your Christening lunch - and  every morsel of that piece of cake. Miserable walk this morning... weekends always are... on a week day its always very quiet and peaceful but at the weekends we get loads of visitors to the Moor, hikers, bird watchers, joggers, people walking their dogs / kids - the worst for me is the people who are walking a dog that only get a walk once a week. Invariably the once-a-week dogs haven't got any manners and neither have the owners. This morning a large man dressed up in Dessert Storm camoflage gear  was walking a small white fluffy dog (off its lead) so my bunch trotted up to perform the traditional doggy sniff bottoms greeting ritual and the man KICKED GEORGE for absolutely no good reason. No big surprise that George growled, so the little white dog got scared and yelped and the bloke kicked George again. :censored: |
:carrot: :carrot: :carrot:
That was a fantastic race. Nearly 5 more minutes off my PB - down to 1:43:03. I wasn't even aiming for sub 1:45! It was even on a hillier course than my last half, so I'm really really pleased with that, plus I beat a couple of people I've been tussling with over my last few races. There are two women from Rotherham, I beat them at Dentdale two weeks ago, they beat me at Rhayader last week and I blew them away this week. Also I beat one of the men from running club who I hadn't been expecting to get close to. I've got a bottle of wine to celebrate :) And lots of food. I've decided that what I'm currently eating is clearly working for my running, even if I feel like I'm eating too much sometimes, so I'll carry on with what I'm doing until Edinburgh. I think a nice long bath is called for later too. |
