naughty stuff... chinese... and it was scrummy too....

I love Ellie stories, I think she knows that you now own her, so she is pushing her luck knowing that she'll always be with you. Fred and George need to have a chat with her.
Lou, I've been completely ignoring Kelly's (my cat) late night disturbances and she seems to have chilled a bit. When she does her favorite thing, banging on the mini blinds while staring at me to get up and feed her. I yell no and she takes off and goes to pout somewhere which is fine with me. 6-12 inches of snow tomorrow...excellent. This will probably be my last chance for a snow day. Have a feeling I'll be in school though. Ran about 5 tonight, spinning tomorrow and running Saturday. Saturday night is St. Patty's and my best friend is calling it her "return to drinking" night. She has 3 kids, a 2 year old, 1 year old, and 1 month old (middle one is adopted). We are having a girls night Saturday at one of the local old man bars instead of the touristy Irish bars. I'm spending the night at her house and at 6 am her husband heads to work, and she and I will be dealing with the kids, most likely very hungover. Should be fun though. |
Good luck with getting a snow day tomorrow RSG.. hope they call you early enough that you can turn back over in bed and snooze as late as you want. Have fun with your girlfriend at the bar too.
I start work on Monday :carrot: I will be working every day for training... i now have to learn all what all the muscles are called that you work on the machines... and learn telephone etiquette....piddling down here now, no sign of the white stuff though :) See you all tomorrow. |
Helen - don't worry I will get to the running group. It's not like a club or anything, it's just a 6k-10k run on a Wednesday and some 3 or 4 k one on a Monday when I teach. I will drag DH next week. I'm thinking about getting some miaddidas trainers that are made to fit at Harrods Sweatshop. I might pop down the toon at the weekend and see what it's all about!
Oh and sometimes I do get ravenous one day and not so much the next. I think as long as you're really hungry, then it's ok to eat. It's the stuff that you eat when you don't need to that's the problem. Well I had a good kickboxing class last night, although the ladies class was cancelled AGAIN - it hasn't been on for about 5-6 weeks because the "usual" ladies just don't show up. :p Well they ring and say they won't show up at least, but it really :censored: me off when I get there and we don't do as much exercise as I'd planned for :tantrum: So I got Lee to go through some groundwork last night and it was hillarious!!! Some very dodgy hip movements and stuff  |
I will be holding you to that! I tried a "non-club" type group last year, it was quite good but they started too early for me to get there regularly.
40 minutes on the treadmill. I've got all my stuff in the boot for Wales. I swear I'm getting obsessive, I've got a huge bag of healthy nibbles, fruit tea bags and all sorts of good stuff (and a bottle of wine for after the race...). And it made my day when I saw there was a farm shop right by the hotel :) And speaking of snow days, there was frost on all the car windows on my street this morning although it's nice and bright now. Grr. |
Don't worry I will go  I think if DH enjoys it too it is more likely to become a regular thing. I was actually looking at running clubs in the area, but I didn't seem to find any within walking distance apart from this Sweatshop one. :p Yes I'm THAT lazy!

Not going to start snowing until later so off to school I go. Today will be a nightmare, we have gym and the kids will be so mad that we can't go outside. When my kids get mad it's not pretty. I guess we'll find a movie or something.
Spin and weights tonight, hopefully a run tomorrow, I believe Sunday will be a day of rest for me, and probably bad food due to being hungover and with children :) |
I'm all filled with cold. Aitchoooooo! Its bright sunshine here so, even though I feel very :stars: , I took the dogs for a long walk - just in case this predicted cold snap hits hard (somehow I doubt it, but you never know). When I got back the phone was flashing with a message from work asking me to sub for someone else gone off sick which I am strategically ignoring.... but I will go in to work my shift this afternoon, even though I just feel like going back to bed. :(
I was talking to an acquaintance last night... she said her neighbour used to do my job (at the same PO) and she left because of the same problems I'm having. (I'm glad its not just me!!!!) I talked about it with DH last night - told him what had been said - the final decision was that I will try and talk it through with my boss - try and get her to see that she doesn't have to be a bully to get the best from her staff - and if she gets all 'mardy' with me about it then I'll just come home and go back to eBaying. Thing is it would be a great little job - its VERY convenient, the jobs a doddle and the other staff are lovely - and when she's not there I really enjoy myself. Its sad to have lost a friend, though. Ellie....! I always thought that Fred & George had lots of 'character' but since Ellie came along they seem to have quietened down. She's really turned up the 'teenager-ness' since she had her season - I suppose its all those jumbled up hormones - I'm sure she'll calm down soon..... :crossed: After yesterday's little hiccup I walked her on a lead today - walking on a lead bores her and she mostly just plods along beside me - all her body language shows that she's depressed about not being able to run free and have fun - and I hate it, too - but its safer this way, especially when I'm on my own. :( The only problem today came when a kamikaze bunny took me by surprise and ran across the path about 15ft in front of us, I didn't have time to brace myself and Ellie almost dragged me through a bank of hawthorn bushes to find it. I hate the idea but I think I'm going to have to get a choke chain for her. At the moment I walk her with a Halti and lead and its just not got the same calming effect with her like it does with George. :?: |
Helen, I've done several recipes from that book and they have all turned out well (so far!) :crossed: Enjoy your weekend in Wales.
Chris, Chinese.... :nono: (glad it was scrummy). Good luck for Monday! As a member of staff do you get to use the equipment for free? Frus, you inspired me to do some baking.... I'd forgotten how much I love homemade walnut and honey flapjacks. I ate three too many! Complete lack of self control! :crazy:Good job I didn't get stuck in to the banana bread pud because that is unbelievably addictive - DH ran off to work with the whole thing this morning to share out with his workmates. Thats the last time I do any baking until I'm down to my goal weight. RSG - have a lovely weekend. I know for sure that I couldn't cope with three children under 3 AND a hangover..... you are a brave woman. Wanna - I hope the person who chained up your bike turns up! Did you put a note on his bike pointing out what he'd done? CG - You're being very quiet... are you okay? Lou - What are you going to do with Marmite when you move? Have you got anyone who you can board him with for a day or two while you get settled? |
Sarah - you'll fit in well since it's Red Nose Day! :p ;)
Maybe after a few days of walking on a lead Ellie will take this as a punishment and she might come back sooner when you let her off again? I suppose if she does run off again, then walking her on a lead for a week so she gets the message might do the trick... :dunno: |
Oh no.... just listened to the phone message.... she wants us all to wear red today cos its red nose day. She says she'll supply the red noses.....
My nose is red enough today.... I don't need a plastic one. I don't think I've got any red clothes. :( Well... none that fit.... :( |

At least the red noses are fairly comfortable this year - they're foam and stay on ok. I'm protesting and wearing yellow! We're not doing anything for red nose day here - but I am wearing my jeans out of protest! |
Morning girls, hi Sarah  I'm here.
It's been a quiet week and I've been doing some spring cleaning. I'm a bit fed-up today. I need to do something but what? Sarah your boss sounds like a real pain. Going from a friend to a boss definetly changes the dynamics of a friendship. Chris you will have a busy week then. Stay warm today. RSG enjoy St.Paddy's Day being hungover with children :dizzy: not a good combination. |
We've just got a dress down day, we're not doing anything particularly special. Sarah - those walnut and honey flapjacks sound lovely. I'm planning to make another batch of carrot and pineapple cake when I get back on Sunday. As long as I freeze it in slices straight away it's not too bad.
I've never really got the St Patrick's Day thing. It doesn't really mean anything to me, and I've never been one for going out drinking on a particular date just because the people from Guinness say I should. |
I got sent home for being poorly.... being sent home hasn't happened to me in ... oh.... at least 35 years!! I must admit, after the walk to work, I looked and felt completely dreadful (deathly pale face, watery eyes, bright red nose which clashed dreadfully with the bright red clothes I was wearing!) When I got home I had a couple of paracetamol, a mug of hot lemon and honey with an extremely large splash of DH's special zillion year old single malt whisky in it ... hic ... then a nap ... and I'm now feeling almost like I'm going to survive this.
Helen, the flapjacks were lovely and are made in minutes - its just 100g butter, 100g demarara sugar, 200g oats, big handful crunched up walnuts and 3 tbs honey. Melt the butter, add in the sugar and honey and simmer until the sugar has melted. Add in oats and walnuts and stir. Put in lined 7" x 7" (or thereabouts) baking tray and press down then smooth top with back of spoon. Cook for 20 mins @ Gas 6 or until honey brown around the edges. I don't get the St Patrick's Day thing either - maybe you have to be Irish or of Irish decent to appreciate it properly. Hi CG  I know that fed up feeling. Must be the time of year or something. |
