hey everyone.. weighing in this morning... I am so happy I just realized I lost 10 pounds... I havent been weighin myself since i started... Partly because I been feeling guilty... that ive only been sticking to an excersize program mostly... And ive been thinking I wanted to start a diet program... But i dont know really where to start...
Anyways I am happy and very proud of what ive done... itll all come off slowly but surely... |
Hi ladies. I have been AWOL because I felt so guilty about all the barbage I've been eating. I feel like crap - just like I knew I would. I don't understand why I can't seem to keep it together. I've lost weight before, but lately it just seems like I can't get past the first week.
On Friday DH went to the Doctor for a check-up and he has high blood pressure and the Dr. said he was about 23lbs overweight. He didn't want to believe that he's gained that much weight. Anyway, we've both GOT to make changes for our health and our kids. Today didn't start good (it started with 2 doughnuts and a Starbucks Venti mocha) but it will get better. I will eat a salad with grilled chicken for lunch. I'm not sure how, but I will get my act together. |
Monday
Hi all:
so I am still weighing in at 249--which is kinda miracle since I am TOM and ate more than I should last week. I think this progesterone cream is working--and all the water I have been drinking. Nancy: yes it was around 65 when I said it was chilly--dont laugh! I had to wear a sweatshirt and socks. ;) Esmeralda: big kudos to you--you are doing great--so some changes in exercise habits really worked for you, good job! That is the best way to lose. Ch--just keep posting! how about some mini-goals? Get thru it one meal and one day at a time? Hang in there--you can do it! |
Esmeralda!!! 10lbs is amazing! You're doing great. Maybe you don't need to cut food back much.
CH4Health don't trip yourself up on guilt. You can do this. Small changes overtime will add up. If I ate donuts and coffee for breakfast I would be starving and craving more sweets in a few hours. It really helps me in terms of cravings and hunger to have protein at every single meal. When I have 2 eggs for breakfast I'm not hungry for 7 hours. You've already lost some wt, you should feel really proud of yourself for that. I'm doing okay, I'm not sure if I can do thus but I'm trying to lose 1lb every week. start 160 week 1 162 weeki 2 157 |
sno didn't you have a huge wt loss last week too? Yeah you probably will lose when tom is over too. Tell me about this progesterone cream. I lived in san diego until a year ago, I used to be the same way. Living here in the winters which are half the year, you start thinking 40 degrees is a warm day.

I hope everyone is having a good Monday! I have lost another 3 lbs. Way to go me! I think by trying to take out alot of fast food has really helped.
So today I had to go to get bloodwork done for my yearly physical. I know that all will be well except for my cholestrol and tryigylcerides, but I am hoping that it has gone down just a little from last year. I guess I will find out on Wednesday. I am more worried about the trigylcerides. My cholesterol is hereditary along with diet, I had high cholestrol in high school when I weighed 125. I guess I can blame my Mom and G-ma for that one, thanks. I am hoping with my food choices and exercising to reduce it though. I am thinking that I will get it checked again in six months to see how I am doing. Okay I am really jealous of everyone with the cool weather. I am just thankful that it hasn't been above 95 in a few days and evenings are getting into the low 80s. Although I would never trade it for the snow and the cold. When it gets below 40 I feel like I can never get warm. Nawchem: I am going to have to try those turnips, maybe even the DH will like them. That's the way to think, longterm, we may all have ups and down as long as the trend is downward. GetNHealthy: I am going to have to try the warm tea trick in the afternoon at work. At least your DH will go to the doctor's office. My DH has cancelled two appointments because of work....yeah right. He is scared of all doctors and dentists. Esmerelda: CONGRATULATIONS on the lose! Keep up the exercising! I wouldn't change your diet all together because you seem to be losing weight, but just add more fruits and vegetables. Sno: At least is wasn't a gain and that is part of the overall picture! |
thank you for the feedback... snow, nachem, and dolly...
I think i still have to make some more changes... like for one drink more water... and eat smaller portions.. this is very exciting to me... I am very happy... I feel like jumping off the walls... I planned to start journaling everything i eat... I know that is gonna help keep me on track... |

way to go everyone...i didn't see any gains! i just weighed and i am at 203, which is great for a monday. i started ww and so far i am not doing too well. i am trying the core plan but have discovered that it takes a lot of planning and i have not had any time to do that. i am drinking tons of water and thanks to a student teacher working with me i will be able to run to the bathroom when i need to. nawchem- 40 degress warm, we don't get much colder than that in the dead of winter down here. |
yeah!
It sounds like everyone is doing pretty good! I feel happy that my total is 5 lbs for two weeks--cant complain tho I could complain about cramps!
Nancy--I decided to try progesteron cream to help with PMS and bad TOM. Here is a link about that-- http://www.johnleemd.com/store/faqs_progest_crm.html Dolly--good job--you are really consistent--that's 5 lbs so far on this challenge, right! It is pretty hot here too--82 in the house right now. I am ready for some cooler temps for sure! Trob--hand in there--I havent lost any this week either. Just keep going and the results will come in. Esmeralda--let us know what u decide to do about an eating plan! Water is the way to go--drinking 128 oz per day has really made a difference and helps me to manage cravings. I read somewhere that drinking 96 oz of water a day helps increase the metabolism. |
Did GREAT at weigh-in....3.2 pounds this week. WOOHOO...i was totally shocked. I could get used those results. the sad part, is that i instantly got worried about the next weigh in, thinking, oh no, if i lost this much this week, i bet i will gain or not lose anything next week. PLUS this coming week is TOM...dread, dread. But i am stocked up on Midol and psyching myself up to exercise even if i dont feel like it. i can at least do stretching videos or something. Just for the record, the bimbo at my work is driving my blood pressure sky high. My husband works where i do and she was doing a VERY theatrical bend-over in front of him today. I wanted to go tear her eyes out. he says he didnt notice...well he noticed enough to tell me "whats her deal, she was not even wearing a bra"? My poor ellipitical took the brunt of it when i got home, so that is one good thing about it. but i get so upset i feel nauseated just thinking about her. (sorry, just had to vent).
SNO-Definately give the core secrets tape a try. You will be sore in muscles you didnt even know you had. Esmeralda: WOW, 10 pounds. that is increadible. Keep it up. Exercise can make or break your weight loss in my opinion. CH-Hang in there. For some reason that first week is the hardest for me too. Once i see good results on the scale i am well on my way...but just getting to that point can take me months sometimes. Its like i have to convince myself that i am tired of being this heavy, then after a few more weeks of hemming and hawing i get back on program. I have done that so many times it is pathetic. Just get in there and get your first GOOD week out the way, then the sailing is smoother. Dollypie-Good for you, wow 3 pounds. We were twins with weight loss this week. Looks like our fairy fat mothers have been busy. ha ha. Trob-Good for you for a good monday weigh in. Monday weigh ins are always bad on me. I am usually up by 3 on monday from my weekly weigh in on friday. Drives me nuts. Have a good evening all. |
Congrats Everyone!!!! And, drum roll please, I lost 4 lbs. I am so happy finally weighing in at 205. I am so happy.
|
great job
I am so pleased for you guys--you are doing great--we have collectively lost a lot of weight in the last two weeks! Keep it up and you will achieve your goals!!

Non Scale Victory
Today has started off as a great day! :dancer: As I was getting dressed this morning I put on a belt I bought last December that I haven't been able to wear in a while and it fit. It was on the last hole, but it fit! I am so excited. I was then able wear my more comfortable shoes that matched it.
trob, Sno, GetNHealthy, card congrats on the weight lose. That's even more motivation to keep going! |
nawchem: i am the opposite with weather, i hate it when it gets hot and humid. this summer was the warmest in 10 years and i swear i melted. now that the weather is in the 40s and 50s i am a happy camper (though it is going to get in the mid-60s today and that, i believe is about perfect).
i haven't weight myself yet this week, maybe i should buy a scale but i am sure i would weigh myself often. i did, however, break out my bike that i haven't ridden in a couple years and went for a long bike ride on sunday. i forgot that i really like riding my bike and i was amazed at the improvements on the bike paths in my area. the only problem is that during storage the chain got messed up but i dropped it off at the shop this morning. with food i am doing pretty well, i have eaten breakfast and i am going for lots of mini-meals. i find that i don't snack so much if i know i am going to eat something in a couple hours anyways. i feel better, my mood is much nicer since i have started this, it must just be eating better. anyways, keep up the good work everyone. :) |
Hello ladies!!!! Congrats on all of your losses!!!! I haven't weighed in. I plan on waiting until next Monday. I read the Fat Smashers book last night, and I am going to give it a try. I think that having a plan will make this easier. I've stayed on other plans before and done well, except when they were very rigid. I tried the Fat Flush plan and that lasted about 2 months - but it was sooo strict I couldn't stick with it. I tried WW and I was starving every day, light-headed - not for me. I worked with a personal trainer/nutritionist for 3 months and did wonderful - but then I couldn't afford it anymore.
So I think the key is choosing a healthy plan that doesn't restrict me for too long and doesn't keep my calories super low. The Fat Smash plan seems reasonable. You go 9 days without meat, caffeine and most complex carbs - a detox. Then in Phase 2 you bring back meats, some complex carbs and caffeine. Phase 2 lasts for 3 weeks. Then there are 2 more phases each one bringing back more. The 4th phase even allows for the occasional pizza or cookie. I am phsyched about this. I have to travel for work Thursday and Friday, so I'm not going to start this until Sunday. that will give me Saturday to shop for and plan out my food better. I will try to make healthy choices in the mean time though. Dh is going to do a modified version of this with me. He wants to make a change because of his health. He doesn't want to give up meat, so that's the main difference between what I'm going to do and what he'll do. Thank you for the encouragement. I do need to just do it because I know if I stick to something and get my exercise in I will be successful!! |
