michelle tried all that, they said wouldnt do hysterectomy as i was only 20 so gave me loads of different meds to try, all the meds did was make me gain weight. every few months they would give me different pills to try and every time they would put another 20-30lbs on me. that and comfort eating got me to where i am now :( i have been much better for the last year since they gave me an ius and have been trying to lose the weight i have gained, before all that i was about 115lbs

ELEM-PGF 05-01-2006 09:41 PM

Thanks for the welcome's!!

I am so excited to see all the support that you guys offer each other! I am glad to be a part of all this! I would love to acknowledge everyone but I am so far behind I am just going to throw a few things out there and we'll go from there!

I have only recently been having huge emotional swings with Aunt Flo, before I just had them all the time no matter what time of the month. I have PCOS as well that really reeks havoc with my hormones at times. Wish I could offer some better, exciting ways of coping but other than go in a closet and scream I haven't come up with a good solution.

Adding on the weighing in thing, i was down this morning again but honestly can't remember what it was right now. I haven't updated my ticker yet but will do that next time i get on. I am really fighting the urge to binge at the moment. My dad is in the hosp after "passing out and stopping breathing to the point of turning blue" yesterday. They have no clue why all this is happening and that scares me. they are throwing around mini-stroke at the moment but the test so far confirm nothing. I am in AL and they are in PA so the distance just adds to the issue. My sickness is improving temendously and i am supposed to be heading to the beach this Thurs but seems like the world is out to get me. I have always eaten my way through these things before and now am trying to get on the computer to get away from the food. How many calories do you burn typing??????

Well girlies, glad to be a part of the group and will try to be better at addressing everyone individually as time goes on!!!:)

ELEM-PGF 05-01-2006 09:53 PM

sorry had a few other things i thought of.

How often do ya'll weigh. I am an everydayer just because i need it to keep me in line but i try to stay focused on the weekly accomplishment not the daily!

Also i have been a fan of leslie sansome for a long time. I have gotten to where i can say every line with her word for word and that gets a little annoying. I have tried turning down my tv volume and upping radio or some other CD but it's hard to time out the music. Any ideas for keeping it fresh?

Evening..

Evening girls! Hope you all had a good day. Mine was pretty uneventful compared to last week. My husband and I had an appointment with our lawyer to make our last will and testement. BlehHHhhh! I hate talking about that stuff! It's so difficult talking about what you'd do if your spouse died or where your child would live if we both died. It's so sad and depressing. Anyways...enough of that gunk!

Liza, they say it burns more calories than walking (jumping/bouncing). I know it gets me outta breath a lot faster than walking on the treadmill. Hopefully you'll feel better tomorrow. Put the cheesecake behind you and work it out on the treadmill!

Michelle, lucky you...dealing with that ol'bag takes the patience of Job. Thanks for the cheers. Hopefully with the extra bouncing I will be dropping left and right!

Lois, keep a close eye on your visiting physco friend! She can get you into trouble in the kitchen! Sneaky little witch! Thanks also for the cheers!

Elem-pgf, I weigh everyday to keep me accountable too. If I'm up I take it to be a warning and be extra careful for the day. So sorry to hear about your dad. Hopefully soon the docs will figure out what's wrong and begin treating him accordingly. It's especially tough when you live far away. Hang in there girl.

I gotta get going and put my girl in the bathtub. Preschool in the morning! Have a great evening girls. See you tomorrow!

~Tina

:welcome3: ELEM-PGF ~ This group of ladies is the best and there is so much support and motivation here to keep you going! I'm really sorry about your dad, and I hope the doctors come to the bottom of this and find out what caused this and what to do for the future.:?:

Liza ~ I guess that would be right about the doctor not wanting to do a hysterectomy when you're only 20. I had my surgery two days before I turned 42, so I guess I was way past the age group! I think it's horrible how different meds can do so much weight damage to a person!:(

Tina ~ We have never gone to a lawyer for that, and I think it would be depressing to think of that.:( You sound like you're having so much fun doing your jumping, and I bet your daughter loves spending the time with you too.;)

I hope everyone else is have a good evening. Haven't heard anything from Cheryl today, so I hope she is doing okay. Talk to all of you tomorrow...:grouphug:

Cassie501107 05-01-2006 11:56 PM

Hello all! No time for personals tonight...my son is NOT going to sleep, so I don't get a lot of computer time.:(
I had a bad day...ate cookies...a ton of them!:( Eh, tomorrow will be better, but I still feel bad about it. Thanks to all of you for your support!
I might have to go to the doctor tomorrow....I have a scar on my neck that I think is infected! It was hurting today, so I pushed on it and it was swollen, and then (TMI) puss and blood started oozing out of it...ewww! And it hurts soooo bad, and the puss and blood stunk. It's a keiloid scar, which means it's raised. You can see it in the pic that I posted in the other thread, I think. Sorry to share that disgusting info, but it's PAINFUL!
Talk to you all tomorrow! Have a great night!

*edit*....here is the pic I was talking about. If you look on my chest, up by my neck you can see the scar. I got it 7 years ago from a Spider bite.

Michelle 05-02-2006 12:15 AM

Hi Cassie...That is very dangerous and I do hope you are able to get into the doctor tomorrow. That's horrible to have a scar from a spider bite. It must have been a bad one! I hope your little boy settles down soon so you can have some time to yourself. Have a good evening and please keep us posted with your owee!

ELEM-PGF 05-02-2006 06:34 AM

Cassie Yikes, i agree get to a doctor ASAP!!!! I am a scab picker from way back(sorry gross I know) and have done a fair amount of wound care in my time so I can imagine what you are describing and I am worried for you! How old is the scar? Please let us know!

Just an FYI for those doing the smaller trampoline, if you can set it up sideways so that you can throw a weighted ball at it and play catch, you can do some great ab workouts that can also still get your heart rate up!

Update on my dad AS of about 11pm eastern time word was good, all test negative so far and Neurologist says he checks out fine. He is feeling normal and they are now talking like he may just need to change out some meds he has been taking for years!! He will have stress test today and then we go from there!

as for me When I weighed again this morning i was up 1.2 pounds, very discouraging because i was really feeling lighter today. Anyway i am not exercise but about every other week:o and that probably has a lot to do with it. Oh well better day today and we will see results soon!

Ya'll have a fantastic day!:carrot:

AndrewsMum 05-02-2006 07:13 AM

elm-pge, i used to do every day weigh ins but i fluctuate so much during the week that i would just get discouraged so now my weekly weigh in is on monday. sorry to hear about your dad.

cassie, ewww and ouch-ie, let us know how it goes at docs. surely after 7 years a spider bite would have healed by now.

michelle, wonder if they would be any different now im 25 lol

tina, oooh how depressing-do not comfort eat tho!! at least its better to sort these things out so that you know your daughter will be ok if the worst happens.

right i must go do a workout i havnt done any exercise for a couple of days:(
catch ya laters ladies XX

teahoney 05-02-2006 07:35 AM

Cassie - Definitely get to the doctor. You don't want it to get any worse.

Okay, I was supposed to go food shoppig yesterday but it didn't happen. I had such a long day yesterday and I had to wait for my brother to get here. By the time he got home, I was a tired blob falling asleep on the couch. I can't do it tonight so I'll do it tomorrow. Today is going to be another long day, don't think I'll be able to get in exercise although plenty walking just from doing my running around today. Tonight I will cue my Turbo Jam DVD so that it will be ready for me tomorrow.

The ankle has been doing better. I haven't had to use the cane at all and it's not hurting too much although yesterday the knee started hurting me something awful. While I was out running errands, my knee got so tight. You know, like a hinge that needs to be oiled. So far this morning though, it is feeling much better.

Well, I hope everyone has a great day. And Cassie please let us know what the doc says.

meowee 05-02-2006 08:07 AM

Good Morning . . . it's raining and its supposed to continue raining for the next three days. Hopefully the sun will then come back again. However, as tina knows you can never plan that far ahead in Atlantic Canada. :dizzy:

Elem . . . the best thing about typing is not the number of calories it burns but the fact that it keeps you from consuming more of them. Don't worry, it's probably only some water-weight. I only weigh-in once a week (on Wednesday) because I get all bent out of shape at those regular fluctuations. I wish I could stay away from the scale altogether, but I need the weekly kick in the pants. :(

Tracey . . . glad the ankle and knee are feeling pretty good. Mine have been quite dreadful because of all the rain we've been having so far this Spring.

Liza . . . Sorry to tell you, but unless there is something really horrendously wrong, most ob-gyn's don't like to do such final surgery before the mid-30's at the earliest.

Cassie . . . Wow, girl, that must have been a spider the size of a dinner plate. I agree with the others, get to the doctor, the bite shouldn't be giving you problems after allthis time. Good Luck.

Tina . . . Yes, very depressing stuff to have to think about, but something you need to take care of. Just put it behind you and go have some fun on the trampoline.

Lois . . . Good Luck with the reviewing. Hope you sell for a good price really soon.

Have a good day, gang. Keep on moving and shaking in the great downward direction. See you soon. :carrot:

RRVMMM 05-02-2006 09:25 AM

Hey girls, just popped in to say good morning to everyone. I am running late this morning so I wont be able to post personals, but I will try to get back later today or this evening to do so. I posted yesterday morning but it was in the other thread so I dont know if anyone read it or not, no biggie. My oldest son had another game last night, I went straight from work to the ball field and we didnt get home till about 8:15. It was then a race to fix dinner, give the little ones baths, do dishes and a load of laundry and help my daughter out with some math home work. Between me and my hubby we were spread a little thin last night and I never got back to make another post. By the way he won this game.

Since Tina has been talking about the trampoline it has made me start thinking about the huge one (14ft) sitting in our back yard. I love to jump and bounce but I have on problem...........weak bladder. After having 4 babies its just not what it used to be and I tend to wet myself if I jump on the trampoline. I guess I could wear some "protection" during the time I jump. It is great exercise and I think it would really help me out.

Well gotta run, time to clock in to work. Lets all burn up them ugly calories today.

ladylane06 05-02-2006 03:39 PM

 Hey ladies...

ELEM, glad you like the vibe here and the ladies here are awesome for support and motivation.. and we're glad to have you.

Sorry to hear about your dad and I'm glad the test were negative... hope the change in his meds make the difference. I'm an everydayer too :( but it does keep me focused. I use the WATP but with the weather warming up I've been getting outside to walk lately.

I'm sure that scale demon  is just yanking your chain today and it's just temporary... yep, the results will come, just hang in there.

Tina, I know it's difficult but better you plan now and know you've gotten things in order. Oh, and AF tries to get me with those sweets cravings but I've been winning... well for the most part any way... she can be very sneaky!

Cassie, you're right, tomorrow is another day and I know you'll burn those cookies off. ...and, uh... eeewwww on the "TMI" hahaha! ...but seriously, that does sound like it needs attention. Did you recently scrape it? Hope it's better soon.

Liza, hope you had a good workout :workout:

Tracey, glad the ankle is feeling better. Ease into those workouts
... you don't want to reinjure it. I'm sure you'll burn off plenty of calories running around today.

Linda, we've got rain here too... makes me want to stay in bed all day. I have not heard anything as of yet, but I'm still keeping my fingers crossed.

Robbin, whew! ...you guys were really busy yesterday. Glad he won his game! :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

All the talk about the trampoline has got me thinking of trying it. My youngest son has one of those smaller ones for his PT, about the size of a rebounder... but like mentioned before I'm under the weight limit but still think I'd collapse the darn thing. What kind of exercise can you do on a small one? My two older boys have one that is about 12', one of those with all the springs. The boys are older now and when they took it down almost two years ago... they never put it back up... I'm sure it's in the garage collecting dust!

Hope everyone is enjoying their day... I'll check back later.

:grouphug:

LadyLai 05-02-2006 04:06 PM

Happy Tuesday!

Good day girls! The scale has been good to me again today, it showed one more pound taken off to it's fat land somewhere else! But, that still leaves me with a .5, so my ticker isn't showing right again. Just to let you know. I feel a little guilty moving it down...but I so want to!

Michelle,
yes..it was a tough day yesterday to be made to think of those decisions. But it's done now and I'm glad it is and it's over so I don't have to think of it again. And yes, my daughter is loving all this time with her mom. I think she thought I would never venture of the trampoline, she got such a surprise when I did. LOL!

Cassie, I hope you're at a doctors office today to get that looked after! I agree with Linda, that spider must of been the size of a dinner plate!! Yikes! I hate spiders.

Elem-pgf, glad things are looking up for your dad. Hopefully they have a hold of the cause and give a better med. As for your weigh in today, I'm sure it is fluctuation. Hang in there and keep doing what you know best!

Liza, fortunately I did not comfort eat. I was right on target yesterday. Even walked twice! Pheewww! Thank goodness huh?! LOL!

Tracey, I hope your day goes as planned and you get to the grocery store. Glad to hear your ankle is feeling better...but still take it easy as you do your dvd.

Linda, the day is pretty crappy here too. It's cold and drizzling on and off...nothing promising. I wish it would rain, we need some moisture really bad.

Robbin, pheww! You were a busy bee. Does it help to know with all that rushing around you burning calories!? Good luck with buying your "depends" so you can jump on the trampoline! hahaha Just teasing ya girl!

Have a great day girls. Make it count! Stay strong and be powerful!!

~Tina

LadyLai 05-02-2006 04:10 PM

Hey Lois, we've must of been posting at the same time! LOL! I guess I've started something with the trampoline. You can tell your boys set it up for you again. Come on...you know you want to! And be sure to wave at the neighbors when they're peeking out of their windows...hahaha!
