on to Day 14...
Morning all. New Year's Eve here and I'm getting ready for work. No plans tonight but to just hunker down and meditate on my intentions for the coming year. At least I'm not working night shift. Many years I spent seeing the new year in while sitting in the office reading copy and watching on TV the temples ringing their solemn bells throughout the country.
Yesterday I notched Day 13 no problem, but it DOES take determination to get down and do those crunches at the last minute, no matter how easy they've gotten. Hurrah for me! :dancer: |
Yay Red, you deserve some applause. :bravo: I don't know how you manage to keep on doing the exercise challenge - somehow in my life the time just evaporates and oh-oh, another day gone with nothing done. Maybe that will magically change in the new year... :lol3: Enjoy your quiet evening of meditation. I'm planning the same thing for tomorrow night.

Thanks, carla, for the support. The key to sticking to it is planning and getting it done as soon as you can, even though you don't feel like it. This is something I learned from the many failed challenges...like now, I'm thinking I'm going get down and do those crunches right NOW before I leave for work. The chances are good that my "evening of meditation" will be partially spent over the amber between shifts with a young coworker, at least for for a bit, as he has to be back in the office sometime shortly before deadlines... And I am still feeling iffy, thought last night consisted of only a tiny little Kingfisher Indian beer and a big Indian meal AND!!!! :spin: an iPod nano from an ex-beau of mine. He'd won at pachinko (a type of pinball/slot machine that is a form of sanctioned gambling here) and gave me a present! Now, do I have some bright spots in the black or no?! ;) You hang in there carla, sometimes it does just click, but it takes a lot of failure...in other words, it takes a lot of TRYING to get it right, not just thinking about it...you had some great days recently and you WILL get there...we all have our times of apparent "nothing done." You are solidly under 200 and that IS an accomplishment. Remember your successes and reach for them again! :sunny:

I'm with Carla - 3 x :bravo: :cheer: for Red and the Winnie the Pooh balloon.
|
Thanks Shad!! :) But you see, I was going to say something when I could post longer, my balloon doesn't really look a Pooh Bear balloon after all (as stagemom was nice enough to post). My balloon jiggles and wiggles and has a mind of its own! Winnie's balloon just hangs there quietly, so as not to startle the bees. No, I'm not buying the bear thing anymore. :nono: My balloon is unique!

day 3
calories 986 zelle: 25 min |
And Poohs balloon is blue! Color is a very important quality for a balloon!!!!
We don't call you Red for nothin! |
ok so day 1 of my water challenge didn't exactly happen yesterday... Instead I did moderate housecleaning and changed lightbulbs and my wonderful boyfriend bought me a video game console for christmas (we were both away on the 25th, so we did christmas late)!!! Rather than using a pause day at the beginning of my challenge, I am going to go ahead and call today day one. 80 oz of water here I come!
Oooh talk about motivation - I switched health insurance providers yesterday and found out that I'm only eligible for the crappity short term insurance or their most expensive plan because I am too fat for normal people insurance. I bought six months worth of the crappy insurance and they told me that IF I lose 25 lbs by the time that runs out, then I can have the good and cheap insurance that I wanted to begin with. That's actually less weight than I planned to lose in six months anyway, but this is just added motivation to know that my fatness will cost me BIG $$$ if I don't get rid of it before June. I think tomorrow I'm going to start trying this MS word split screen business to reply to individual posts. I really do read them all, I promise! It's just that by the time I get to replying I can't keep in my head who said what about which and it's very difficult to keep track when I just nabbed the computer from the boyfriend long enough to "check my email". Tomorrow I will be back on my own computer, though, and will have time to craft well thought out responses. In the meantime, great work EVERYONE and keep it up! Keep on Truckin' Erin :carrot: |

I hope all of you have a happy and enjoyable New Year. May all your wishes come true and for those starting out on WW or new diets, then you have my love and hopes for a successful time. Some of you may know that I have been keeping charts and measurements of my weight and shape for the last couple of years. Today I have brought them up to date and started a new worksheet for the year 2006. I was checking the figures and noticed two things. 1. Weight loss has not been great over the past 2 years. A grand total of 3 kilos or 6.6lbs. Good stuff but not great. 2. I have lost a total of 20 inches from all over this body. 11.75 inches in 2004 and 8.25 inches in 2005. Now that is not bad I reckon. All up a loss of : Upper chest - 2.5 inch Bust - 2.75 inches Lower Chest - 2.5 inches Waist - 4 inches U Hip - 4.25 inches L Hip - 2.75 Top of Arm - is up .25 inch Top of Leg - 1.5 inches Can't help it if I have fat arms. That just goes to show the power of exercise, since I really haven't been dieting at all, just eating well. That gives me some incentive to carry on. |
Yesterday was a pause day for both of my challenges - we had this fruity cakey thing for New Year's Eve... not really sweet, but I decided that it didn't go with my no sweets challenge. Today is back on track with that. :)
I might have to abandon my running challenge though, and restart again in a few days... :( I woke up with a minor cold today, extremely congested, and while I can probably take 10 mins on the stationary bike at low intensity, I don't think I'll be able to run outside for 11.5 minutes... :( |
Happy New Year!!!
It's already the new year over here. Here's wishing you all the best for the new year!!
