All of my calories today are coming from fruits, veggies, a tiny bit of cheese, 2 pieces of bread and a pat of butter. My dh is making a veggie stir fry for supper. All carbs, almost no protein and a little fat. It's what I'm craving today , but I am really worried about WI tomorrow. It's my 2nd weigh in. I know I've done ok, but I want the scale to show it.
I've never eaten beets before. My dh loves them, so I tried a beet salad and it was lovely. He boiled 2 beets, peeled and diced them chunky, then sprinkled with pepper and feta cheese. It was so good. Some cut up green peppers would probably go good and maybe a little onion.

Melra, you will get to their level, just keep imagining her in a bikini whenever you want to eat something or skip a workout! Better yet, close your eyes and imagine her in a bikini and you next to her in yours...then see if you still want to eat something bad

Tomorrow is WI and I want so badly to move my ticker and report a loss. I feel like such a slacker compared to all ya'll who are losing every single week :o I hope I didn't blow my loss by eating a bit off yesterday. I wasn't that bad and It was my only slip up...so :crossed: that loss will still be there.

ok I made it thru dinner.. I ate a small portion (1 shell) and ate a huge salad and I DID NOT EAT THE BREAD- I can only say THANK YOU Everyone for support .. without ya'll I would have gobbled bread and pasta.

Theresa PIZZA ?? :jeno: :hun: Oh no ..of course I wouldn't want a healthy pizza dough recipe ;) PLEASE post the recipe :^: LOL

As hot as it is down here all I want is fruit.. cold and icy- cold salad etc.. at least it helps with water drinking!
well hubby is fixing the brake light in the truck- the only reason I didn't get a ticket today was that the officer was the same one who wanted to use the parking lot friday afternoon for overflow parking for a funeral. We had an offier killed in the line of duty last week and it was a horrible accident and the funeral is Friday and the cemetary is across the street. So we told them of course they could use our lot for extra parking-
So I am gonna go and exercise..Must do better on that.. WI is next week for me and I am starting to stress.. I know I need to be healthy, first but I guess weight loss is the way I see how I am doing..
I just want to see the scale go below 170 for once in the last 8 years..
Have a good night all!

100% Whole Wheat No Oil Pizza Crust
Yield: 1

Ingredients:

2 1/4 cup whole wheat flour
1/4 cup gluten, wheat
1 pkt rapid rising yeast
1 tsp sugar (optional)
1 tsp salt (optional)
1 1/4 cup hot water

Put all ingredients in bread machine. Stop machine after first kneading.

Let dough rest 15 minutes, then spread out in pizza pan. Add sauce and toppings. If making without bread machine, knead full 15 - 20 minutes by hand. Let dough rest 15 minutes at least, then spread out in pizza pan. Add sauce and desired toppings. Bake at 450 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes.

That's all there is to it! Really easy if you have a bread machine. We don't add the sugar or the salt anymore and can't tell a difference with or without it.

KayElle 08-16-2005 09:18 PM

Forgot to mention...one recipe makes a very large pizza but if you like your crust really thick you could probably try a smaller one (we never have tried anything but a huge one and even then the crust is a nice thickness).

Hey girls, I'm apologizing ahead of time for not replying to your posts. It's been a tough couple of days and I'm just needing to vent.

I've decided not to WI tomorrow (well, usually I WI on Tuesday mornings), that dreaded TOM is a day or so away and am feeling all bloated. Too bloated to get up the nerve to step on the scale. I've been fairly decent when it comes to the cravings... might be a whole 'nother story when it finally arrives. :^:

I did, however, stop in at our local Curves yesterday to check out the program and left absolutely frustrated. The woman I met with had that awful ring of condesecention in her voice... 'esp when she commented about how my body fat percentage isn't even in the "poor-range". Pffft. Yeah, lady, I can see that. Or how based on my measurements, I *MUST* be this size. And ontop of that, she talked about herself incessantly!

After discussing it over with DH, I've decided to better invest my time and money into another women-only gym that includes various aerobic classes in your membership fee. It's even actually less expensive than Curves would have been.

Walked another 9mi over the weekend so I feel alright about that... food, well, it could have been better. Yesterday and today were right spot on though! :)

Everything else is ok. We went and dropped $300 on DD's back-to-school clothes... and still have another $150 to go. Not bad for preschool, hey?! :dizzy: Yes, she's lookin' pretty stylin! ;)

Anyways girls, I should take off now. Must hit the hay...! Happy WI! :) Looking forward to seeing those AMAZING numbers! :)

hey everyone. i'm so glad you liked the wrap sandi. the shells and healthy pizza dough sound wonderful. i love how this group has all these great recipe ideas! kayelle, if you want to try the wrap, you could use tortillas or just put the fixings in a pita. i have never tried to make my own sauce, but a recipe i saw on recipezaar for it looked pretty easy.. just yogurt, grated cucumbers, some garlic, and little olive oil and red wine vinegar. maybe i should try making my own sauce. that might be fun. i think shopping at trader joe's makes things too easy for me. they have every sort of yuppy food :)
laura.. i hope things work out for your son and dil. i think you are doing great -- just keep on having your focus on doing what's best for you. i always heard the first year of being married is really hard. that was true for me even though i didn't think so before the wedding of course. at least you know you did the best you could to help out.
good luck with your new gym mel! i have heard good things about curves, but everyone is different with their exercise preference and needs.
you are not slacking theresa.. you'll be moving that ticker soon! i would be moving mine up, except, well, moving the ticker back up i always slack on for some reason. i never forget to move it down ;)

Purplefirefly 08-17-2005 06:27 AM

Cadwell...if you move the ticker up it's motivation because you'll get to move it down again much sooner. If you just leave it, then when you finally go down it will take longer (to get back to where you are now plus some) lol So, move it on up and vow to move it on down next week, even if it's just a pound.

I am so sorry about you experience at Curves, Mac :grouphug: I would have left and not gone back if I was talked down to in that way. You should really write a complaint about her because if enough people report not liking that tone she has, then they can get rid of her. Sounds mean, but if she is driving people away by acting that way then they need to know that. From what I've heard Curves is supposed to be an accepting, motivating kind of place, not one where women are put down or talked down to. So, I would snap off a letter or email and let them know why you are not joining. Good luck with the other women's club, it sounds great!

I know we don't have our email WI until late today...but I am down 1 lb. Happy to move the scale and the ticker...not happy it's only one. It was 2 before I ate those muffins

Mac-- I had a similar experience when I checked out Curves here. The lady thought she was being motivational. I almost told her, I know I'm overweight and that equates to unhealthy body fat, this I can change, I'm soooo sorry about your personality though, there's no fix for that! I ended up going to a women's only gym and am paying 1/2 the price. Also the Curves places here had huge windows where anyone walking by could look in. I like having the different options of equipment and programs. I may even try a spinning class!
I have kept up with reading everyone's posts, I'm sorry I haven't been posting much myself. I have so little time at home to squeeze in sleep, exercise, and of course DH, that I feel guilty taking time on the computer. Hopefully by Sept. my schedule will change and I will have more free time.

I am so proud of this group. Everyone here is so caring and supportive. After dealing with disgruntled patients, family members and Doctors all night, it's nice to read the posts here. So, thanks to everyone for being helpful in an unrelated to diet way!

SuzyMc 08-17-2005 09:44 AM

Hi everyone! It's been a few days since I have checked in and I don't think I'll ever be able to catch up on all the posts! We are into a major renovation project here, both inside and out, so I haven't had a lot of computer time. I'm hanging in there though and sticking to my eating plan and goodness knows I'm getting exercise! I've been helping my husband lay blocks, carry lumber, rake dirt and gravel...you name it! Hopefully things will calm down here in a couple of days and I'll be able to check in more often. Keep up the great work everyone!

sandisuze 08-17-2005 09:49 AM

oops - I got Theresa and Kayelle all mixed up sorry..( with the pizza dough)
That sounds so good.. I think i'll do a batch for pizzas on Saturday..

I hope everyone is doing really good today.. I am crazed here at work and no time for anything.. :dizzy: Have a good day and keep up all the good work !

sandy :cheer:

Purplefirefly 08-17-2005 12:33 PM

SuzyMC...that renovation sounds like great exercise, and exhausting! I bet it will look nice around your place and you'll be proud when it is over. We are planning to redo one of our bathrooms as a winter project. The floor by the tub is sinking in from years of kids bathing (this is the house hubby grew up in, it's gone through a lot) so hubby said he'll just pull everything out, tub and all, and redo the floor, then I started thinking it would be a good time to redo the walls as well, so now we are planning exactly how we want to do it, design and color and all that. it's great fun planning, but I don't look forward to the whole room being torn down :dizzy: then we have to put it back. Let us know how it turns out for you.

Theresa

melra 08-17-2005 12:40 PM

suzymc~ good job on sticking to the eating plan! Good luck with all the renovations -- I'd say that certainly counts for a workout; you can get some serious muscle work in! Sounds like a big landscaping project?

I'm sorry both macdeez and mistydreamer have had such "helpful" Curves people...glad you found a better place! Mac, I think you should fire off an e-mail or letter too. That stuff just burns me up, even long afterwards. I haven't been able to even check out a full gym for awhile thanks to an aggressive and slightly shady salesperson I encountered some years ago. We do have a membership to the local rec center for cheap--pretty basic stuff, but good to go to when the weather's bad.

kayelle~ Thanks for a whole wheat recipe--lately it's been a lot easier finding whole wheat stuff in the stores, but pizza dough is still not there. I don't have a bread machine, would it be a big pain to do it by hand? I've been using whole wheat pitas when we (okay, I) have pizza cravings, but I think my daughter would get a kick out of making it from scratch.

sandi~ Good job on getting through dinner! Those shells would've been a big challenge for me.

theresa~ Congrats on the ticker! One pound for the week is a pretty typical loss for long term, right?

As for me, I did WI today, even though I wanted to delay it for a few more days. Just like I thought, no change. It's weird how I expect that scale to move just b/c I want it to, or just by virtue of getting on the forums! I know my eating last week was nooo formula for weight loss, though. I have been doing really well on both eating and exercising for the past few days, so I feel pretty good despite the unresponsiveness of the scale.

Purplefirefly 08-17-2005 04:21 PM

Keep OP and give the scale time, Melra, it WILL move one day. I dropped 5 lbs. then stayed there for 3 weeks...hopefully now I can keep it going a bit. I think 1 lb. is pretty good for one week...but it was down 2 lbs. mid-week then I had some muffins and there went that lol it's okay, the scale still moved and my pants are fitting a bit better so i am happy.

One comment on our posts we should start a new one every week so we don't miss so much. Its hard to figure out the last post you read.
