  • Another day done! and...AND I stepped on the scale this morning and lost 4 pounds I'm very excited.

Good job on the work outs and sticking to plan! Check in later!
  • Day 10
Worked up a sweat digging tin the back yard and got a little walk into the Village in as well. Still have some flex points and the counter turns over on Monday - so I feel pretty good. Going to walk to the elem. school today as it's my turn to water the kids' gardens, so that'll be a good workout as well.

Susan - WTG on your loss - all these challenges are paying off for you!

Marti - Stacking wood is HARD work - so I know you are burning lots of calories. Take it easy today - just read it is going to be very hot.

    Have a great day!
    RK
  • Almost done with another day!
You Two are doing great. I wish I wish I wish I could do an exercise challenge but I know something would get in the way too often for me to ever finnish 21 in a row.
Check in later, hope you ladies are well
  • Oh man...I'm not doing good at all!!

I have to start over. I haven't done anything since the last time I posted on here. I'm bad at this I know.

Do either of you girls have another idea for a different kind of challenge?? I think this one isn't working for me. When I think about how I can just start over...I do.

I'm up for anything. Think it over and let me know.

    Marti
  • I have to start over, too. Too much pizza and beer on Sunday yesterday I was back OP so day one - Done (again..sniff)

Marti - maybe a challenge like getting enough servings of fruits and vegetables, or milk servings. Just a thought. I still think no smokes is a good one....but that's just my opinion. If you're down to only three, well you're pretty close anyway..just take the plunge!
Or are you talking about changing the type of challenge? TOPS used to have all kinds of contests...could probably dig something up and tweak it for cyberspace....

  • Hi
Sorry you girls aren't doing so well, but I know can find something that is doable and still beneficial
Shoot! I don't have a clue what day i'm on! I was on the same day as you RK but I'm lost now I think its 13...I'll just go with that
  • I think I am going to try and start something again, even though this challenge thing has never worked for me when I tried it before. But there is a first time for everything. I just need some positive re-inforcements to keep at it. I am going to try and work out 3-4 times per week, do anything close to exercise or physical activity is going to count since small things can add up to results none the less. It is going to be a struggle with my work schedule, but I am going to do it. I am also going to try and eat less bread and pasta products. I eat too much of that, my downfall, but I refuse to take it out all together and risk a binge or deprive myself of good food. I am just so lazy lately and I can't stand to look at my fat self anymore or be embarrassed to go to the mall or outside my house. so cross your fingers that I don't wimp out again. Small baby steps, small baby steps. ;-)
  • Day 2 done!
Got a fast start guide off of Dottie's weight loss zone, so that's helping. Also started TOm, so I got rid of that pound I gained, and I am feeling lots better in general.
Shanna - can relate to juggling things to get a workout in. I was in a really good groove when DS was in school. I'd take my toddler for a walk in her zoomer after she woke up from her nap. Well, DS is home all day and is not very amenable to walk unless its to the candy store in the village. When DH gets home in the afternoon, it has been very hot, so I'm even less motivated to get out there and get it done. I have to do a better job of going with the flow here

Hope everyone else had a good challenge day.
Susan - you are doing great - keep up the good work! Sorry I messed up your day count, lol How are you liking your new apartment? Find any good cookbooks for smaller portions? I would check out epicurious.com, IMO I usually run searches for recipes over there - it a great website.

  • I've decided to join you! My 21 day challenge will be to excersice at least 4 times a week and to go to sleep by 10 pm during the weekdays. I usually get home from work and between one thing and another when I look at the clock again is midnight and I do have to wake up early. I feel like I am not sleeping enough! SO if I can excercise 4 times a week and get to bed by 10 for 21 days that should make a change...

Marti, what i do about the water is that I drink a 16oz glass with every snack, two hours after breakfast, two hours after lunch and then before going to bed. There are 48oz of water if you just do this!.... Hope it helps!

    Jo
  • Hey girls...

Well I decided that I will still with exercising.....I did a lot of activity yesterday. So day one is finished.

Welcome Jo!! Hope you enjoy this challenge...I have been having difficulty sticking with it!! But I will do it!

    Ok ladies....I'll try this again.!

    Marti
  • Another day done! i guess that puts me on day 14.

    Welcome Jo

The apartment is working out great except that I have NO living room furnature so i just hang out in my bedroom. We apparently have some coming but I don't think until september!

I'll let you know tomorrow what my weekly weigh in is. I hope its something good! I usually do friday but I'm going camping again! With friends this time not family.
  • Have any of you girls tried Pilates??? It is such a good workout.

Not that I did a huge workout with it...but I did some moves today (without my tape) and it really stretches those muscles and helps relax you. I think I'm going to try and do those every other day to get my exercise in!!

    So today is day 2!!
  • Hello! Well yesterday was my first day of my double challenge!!!

    DAY 1
Exercise 45 minutes on the bycicle (1)
Sleep - tried but didnt' make it to bed till after 11pm (0)

I don't know what happens but I just get so involved doing things I hate when I get home (cooking, cleaning, ironing... etc) and then the things I do love like playing with my son...that when I look at the clock half the night has gone, and then I feel so tired the next day to do everything else again that I just don't feel I have the energy for it all.... well I'll try again tonight!

Tonight is my first week weight in so I'll let you know tomorrow how it went.

Marti- I have not tried Pilates, Is it difficult to begin??

I have been seeing some tapes about a program called THE FIRM in Borders and I have been thinking about buyng them.. Has anyone tried them??

    Saludos,

    Jo
  • Day 3 Done!

Welcome, Jo! Good job on your challenge. How old is your DS? I have a 7.5 y/o son and a 2.5 y/o daughter. I don't know how I get anything done, really - they are too fun! But they also wear me out and I go to bed way earlier than you do... also get up really early....just my internal clock I guess. What program are you doing? I notice you mentioned a weigh in - so I'm sending some good scale vibes your way!

My challenge is to stay on plan. I just started doing WW at home, and I'm tracking my points. Last week I went over and so I am starting over...

Marti and Susan- hope your challenges are going well.....

  • Hey Jo - I just read your bio - which I should have done before posting....sorry no need to rewrite what you have already written. Anyway - welcome again to the forum...I have found this to be a very friendly and supportive place and, as you can see, I have alot to lose. I turn 40 6/15/05, and I want to be at my goal by then (happy birthday to me!)
