Morning everyone we finaly got some rain last night..its been unseaonably hot and dry this summer..theres 95 fires burning in alaska according to our papers and sometimes its hazzy from the smoke..did anyone watch the gymnastics last night on the olympics it was totaly awsome..summer you are one busy lady and such a good friend..my puter still acting up..it will just freeze for no reason..and nothing will work..but to shut it done and reboot..this is my 2nd try at posting today i finally got a hold of the lady that orders cards from me..i like the business but shes hard to deal with.. every time the fees part comes up she argues with me and says i didnt charge that last order..but she wrong..and after i explain she backs down but acts like im cheating her..i think she's hoping i will forget and go with what she says..im not dumb tho and since this happens every time and my fees are always the same i just go with it..but it is irratating an order for 300 cards is just to tempting to turn down..theres an article in the new womens magazine called FIRST aug 23 issue.. its about carb cravings and was really informative about how hidden food additives affect sugar levels and carb cravings..and some suggestions for help and what to look for in the ingrediants on labels that even tho they are locarb no sugar labeled that the additives actually boost sugars levels etc..for us diebetics its worth reading and for locarb dieters anyways it made sence to me so check it out..hope you all are having a great day .. the dh just came in with one perfect rose from my rose bushes for me.. he can be sweet (((((((hugs))))))) rosey

Morning everyone its raining still and we really need it..i am getting the dh ready to go to the cabin again..its moose hunting season..this time he says he will be gone till next wed.. unless " he " gets lonesome plan on working on the card order today..am strugling with the diet.. seems i have good intentions but my will power and incentives have flown the coop and i can feel the difference..my body always lets me know when im being "bad"..hope you all have agreat day and weekend(((((((hugs)))))))) rosey

Morning everyone ..how are you all this day??busy ill bet from the lack of posts in here the dh is gone and its just me and one dog..the other goes to the cabin..have been busy using all my new stamps iv accumulated over the summer..am suppose to go to a family b-day party at my neices but i just dont want to go without my dh..so have to come up with an excuse so noones hurt frankly im enjoying the quiet time right now..hope you all find a quiet moment for yourself this weekend..will check in later(((((((hugs))))))) rosey

I guess I can scroll back a few pages to see what all has happened but I see Rosey's last 3 posts anyway. If I were you Rosey, I would tell who ever is asking you to a party that you need to be home in case he calls you from the cabin? That is if you REALLY don't want to go cause it's good to get out you know. With all those fires going on, is it making it hotter there? Are any of them near you? As for your cards, get you one of those receipt pads that has the carbon copies in them and before you make the cards, write down how many along with you quote and give it to her. Then when you're done with the cards, she can't argue then.

I don't really have to tell you all that I have been swamped here. I am waiting on some supper to cook and DH will be home in half hour. The kids seem to be fine in school. No grades home yet but the boys had a lot of tests on friday so I'm sure I will hear something from that soon. The traffic is pretty bad during pickup but laken's aide brings her out on first bell so that helps me by a couple minutes. Then friday, logan said his teacher said he could go on with laken if he preferred so that would put me even closer in line at middle school.

We went to our high school football game last night and they won 17 to 6. It was the first time they won their opener since 1995 and they only won 3 games the last 2 seasons. They have a brand new coach and quarterback this year so I expect some changes in them. We left the game with 4 minutes to go and just got in our car (long walk) and it had been popping lightning and all of a sudden it poured rain and became a severe storm with 75 mph wind gusts. We listened to the rest of the game on radio on our slow way home and they did manage to finish it but I heard they were soaked and traffic jams everywhere. We were just too smart to leave at that time. We went to their scrimmages last week and got caught in a bit of traffic so we learned from that.

Summer I hope you have a blast today with your gig. I'm sure you will tell us all about it. My grandpa is fine. He finished all his treatments and is still really weak. He is threatning to get on top of one of his barns to do some work but the man just recently fell out of his shower. He thinks he can move mountains but for now an ant hill would give him trouble. Thursday me and Dh went to my other grandmas to take her a lawn mower she bought and when DH went to get some gas he saw what either looked like a copperhead or some type of an albino snake hanging off a rafter in the roof of the storage building. It had us scared stiff and he's the only one who saw the thing. Either way it had to be poisonous. So we tell nanny not to go out there a few days and give him time to get out of there. We figured the lawn mower noise was enough to scare him out. Anyway later that day she evidently went back out there and is trying to tell us that he saw a baby yellow kitten but we both know a kitten cant hang over a beam like a shoestring. He even saw it fall. Gives me shivers just to talk about it.

Donna did you get back? Did you see any damage down there? The governor tried to get some federal aid for the coast but he was denied. I just wondered how bad it was.

Well I need to finish supper cause DH will be home in 20 minutes. I hope to post again tomorrow. BTW, I'm getting my hair cut tuesday which is first time in 6 months and I'm surely looking foward to it.

Dana i hate snakes but hate frogs more. Well we don't have the hugh snakes like you do so maybe I would change my mind. We don't even have poisioness snakes around here. I know the frogs aren't poisioness either I am glad that the kids and you are adjusting to school. My kids start September 9th and i can not wait.
Rosey did that hubby get a buffalo yet? My hubby is jealous and wants to go now! Now that would be a blast. Get our hubbies as hunting buddies and I would get to visit you and have you teach me about card making. The children would stay at the nannies house if i had a nanny!
I can't remember what anyone else has had to say I am so sorry. We are having heavy rain here today. The back creek is full to the brim almost. I went into a funk with the rain today and miss my sunshine. I don't get it we get the central air going and it cools down! C'est la vie.

Morning everyone im up with the birds today and its another sunny hot day here..i really enjoyed my lazy stay in my bathrobe day yesterday..but today im getting out am going shopping and then to bingo later..dana thanks for your advice about my card order..i need to be more professional and a receipt book would accomplish that.. am so glad your grandpa doing better..where are your cards on e-bay i wanna see..are you selling alot.. hope so..my goodnes but you have a busy schedule am glad your kids have such a great mom..i dont like snakes either ick!!!!!my mom had them in her garage when we were there..daphnee you make me chuckle.. you have a funny sence of humor..my dh is hunting moose not buffalo altho he would luv to get one of those too ..dont know what the attraction is as the cabin is very rustic..very far..no water(you have to haul it from here)and hard to get too but he loves it there..and when hes happy this grama is happier ..donna hope you had agreat time at the beach and avioded all those storms..mr ken did you weigh in yesterday??is everyone else struggling like me??summer.. how was the gig.. and hope bert and buddy are reasonably well..kris hope you can post soon and fill us in on your doings..well the washer has stopped and need to get my clothes dry so ive got something to wear besides my bathrobe..have agreat day everyone((((((((((hugs)))))))) rosey

Moose, buffalo whats the difference? They are both big and full of meat! Jason is going deer hunting October 16th I belive. It will be his first time since he was a kid I think. Well he is just 33 and I guess since he was early 20s.
I know I was saying rain would be nice but we are setting records now with the rain. The creek is all swollen what a old fashioned saying that is! The river banks are to the brim as well. All this with just 24 hours of rain! We are supposed to have rain thru Thursday as well.
The kids start school in 17 days! They go back September 7th AMEN!!! I will be walking each day as soon as the last bus comes. I really am excited about getting some free time again. Then I get to think about halloween and Thanksgiving and CHRISTMAS!!!!! Oh I love Christmas!

I am home. We arrived back on Saturday instead of Friday as said. There was some damage to my Dad's house but Jim and a friend of his that came with us was able to fix it. Dana, there were some damage that I saw but nothing devastating. Never saw any places completely destroyed like hurricane's past. I feel SC was spared unlike Florida.

Elena started back to school today so I've been busy doing some must needed blessing of my house plus trying to get caught up on email and such. I walked every day at the beach but ate enough to make all that voided out. LOL

I'll get caught up later. Just wanted to check in with you all.

Hello Everyone..

Sorry that I havent been in here earlier.. Times flies everyday..
The gig went great.. we had alot of fun.. I hope to have a few pictures after I finish the camera..I have a few left to take before I get them developed..

I have some many things to do today.. but I want a little time in the sun...Its a beautiful blue skys today..I have to take advantage of it..
Its warm and pleasant..not to many of these days and I want to be out there....I had company yesterday...and planning a BD party for Buddy..
I hope to get that all set up soon seeing how it is this Saturday the 28th.
His BD is the 6th of Sept..but thats a holiday weekend and people are doing different things..so hopefully I can get everyone there this Saturday afternoon. Berty is doing well..Thank-you to everyone that asked about her and Buddy.. I appreciate it.
Sounds like everyone had a good weekend and Thank-you Rosey for always being here and faithfully posting.. I just wanted you to know that..not to say that any one neglects to do that.. I know that everyone is so busy..I do understand..but Rosey is always here and I do appreciate all her efforts..
and I am sure everyone else does too..I hope to try to make time to come in here everyday..Its so important to say hello and see how all the Chickies are doing... I want to try to do that.. with the exception of vacation..
I will be going to MB on Sept 11.. Cant wait.. I was glad to hear that MB didnt get tore-up by the storms..I still feel so bad for all those poor people in FLA. What a horrible thing to happen to them...

Morning everyone.. it finally cooled off some this am i just dont like hot weather and it so unusual for here..well i was a winner at bingo yesterday.. we went to day bingo and night bingo dont always do that..didnt win at day bingo but mydd did 200$ then last night i was the winner and after subtracting out what i had spent for both sessions i came home with 330$$wooooohooooooo.. and i had fun am busy this am working on my cards and trying to stay out of the kitchen i made today the do or die day..i must get back on track..please see if you can read that article in the first magazine.. its called addicted to carbs(that would be me) but it also has some good advice for diebetics..thankyou summer for the kind words.. i know everyone is busy esp when you have kids.. im retired now and my time is usually my own (unless the dh is home ) everyones support is so greatfully appreciated i love this group cant beleave school has started.. my grkids start this week..summer hope buddy has a great b-day..e-mail his address so i can send a card..also berts..the gig sounds like it was a success.. donna am glad you are home.. dont worry about the eating on vacation every one does and its normal..you will adjust in a few days.. am glad you had agood time.. kris welcome back am waiting to here what youve been up to this summer..daphnee you funny women you..there is a difference in moose and buffalo i prefer moose more like beef..hope your hubby gets a deer..hope your creek doesnt sweap you away mr ken did you have a good weekend?? are you back to work or still on vacation? dana i would love to see your cards in e-bay..well everyone duty calls.. thos e cards wont get done by themselves .. hope you all have agreat day..((((((hugs)))))) rosey

I am back...Whew.... I am tired..We had the teacher we normally have on Thursday night and she did a whole new routine.
She was filling in for our regular Monday night teacher..
She wore me out..

Dana..It sounds like you are so very busy...with the school stuff and all.
I am glad that the children are doing well and adapting to the new school year.. I am so happy to hear that your grandpa is doing so well.. I know that he is happy not to have anymore treatments....I know that he is weak but thinks he can still do everything.. Men are like that....
It will be hard for his wife ( your Grandma ) to keep him down..
I am so glad he didnt break anything when he fell in the bathroom..
I am sorry your High School football game got rained on..but they won anyway... WOW...Thats great...At least you beat the crowds leaving..
That was the smart thing to do...That sounded like a really bad storm..
The snake story scared me.. I would have freaked out or had a heartattack..I am so afraid of those things..
I pray I never see one up close hanging anywhere like that...
The gig was fun.. People dancing and laughing.. I think they were all to full from the Shrimp to dance too much.. I hope we get more soon..I cant wait to get the pictures developed.. I still have a few to take then put it in to develope..I cant wait ti hear about your haircut and how your hair looks.
I got one not to long ago and I will need another one soon. My stylist is leaving again to finish things with her Mom's Estate.. She passed away a month ago..So I have to get my hair cut before she leaves. She wont be back for a month..She goes out of town.. I feel so sorry for her..She misses her Mom so very much.. Thats so understandable...

I always wondered what Moose tasted like.. So its Beef..Would I know the difference with out anyone telling me?? I have never ate any wild game..
Thats always been by choice though.. Alot of people here eat Buffalo..
They says its less fat and tastes good..Its not cheap meat either.. Its in the gormet section of the grocery...I myself have never eaten any..
Not sure I want to......We have alot of friends that hunt for deer and so on every year...I dont eat that either..
I hope that you made a big dent in your card order..Hope that you get to spend osme of your Bingo money soon at our Favorite place..
