Thanks Hollyhock. You are right, I was naughty. I'm just hoping that now that things have settled down in my life, including a better job, that I'll be able to stay on track for good. I really want to be down to less than 200 by the end of Spring. It may not be possible, but that's the goal for now.

I am REDEFINITION, a 26y/o full-time law student. I currently weigh 235. I am attempting to get down to 160.

I plan on walking on the treadmill that I bought myself for Christmas (YAH ME!!). I also plan on building up the endurance to start running. I also have a ton of exercise DVDs in my arsenal, such as Tae Bo and, my newest addition, Yoga Booty Ballet. I plan to work out at least 5-6 days a week, resting one or two days out the week.

I also don't plan to follow any particular diet plan. I am not good with being restricted by what I can and cannot eat. Don't get me wrong, I don't pig out and I am trying to control the types of food that I eat. However, I can't seem to stick to diets that limit what I can eat (i.e. no bread, no dairy, no fruit, etc.). I am just going to control my portions, reduce my sugar intake, add more water, eliminate fast foods, fried foods, and processed foods. Aside from that, everything else is fair game. I am already picky about what I eat (which is ironic since I am so big--go figure!), so I think that I am going to do well.

Good luck to everyone on their journey to "Onederland!" We can do it!!!

HELLOOOOOO!!
I am finally over this stomach virus. 7 whole freakin days!!! I didn't lose weight either bah! LOL!
Took DD to see Monters Inc on Ice today, a gift from my folks. It was sweet. I watched her face more than the show!

I have made a definite decision to pursue my Avon career and I will slowly faze out daycare as the kids get into school. I have established a great base and I LOVE it. I like being in the business world, always did.
DId I mention that I was ranked #6 out 336 sales rep in my district!!? Pretty exciting. I will just be monumentally busy for me until next Sept.
I have decided that I really DO want to lose some weight. For me it is portion size and seconds. That will be my first goals. I am going to try and incorporate my 20 min Yoga tape or WATP once a day.

Blessing ,you glorious vixens!!!

Hi Ladies.
Labchick- I just came back too after a long hiatus. We can do this! We can all do this together!!
Holly- Glad you are feeling better and are inspired. Portion control, that is the key. Everything in moderation, right. Now if I could just get that myself I'd be in great shape.
Hi Redef- Way to go. You are so motivated.

Today was weigh in and I am down 1.5. This was after only a few days because I started in the middle of the week. I like to weigh in on Sat Mornings. I feel more relaxed over the weekend that way.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Good to see you again Suzy! We WILL take these pounds off. We just have to be steadfast and patient. Congratulations on the 1.5! It all adds up.
Holly - Monsters, Inc. on Ice sounds like fun.
Redef - sounds like you've got an excellent plan. I wish you all the success!
Debbie - I don't know if I could get to the 3 X per week of exercise.

Oh well, I just have to keep telling myself that babysteps will pay off.

Default Just a Newcomer

This is my first time here and I'm very excited to find a place where others are going through the same things I am.

I am 35, married with two children, 15 and 12. I weight about 280lbs and have been on high blood pressure medication for almost 10 years. I've wanted to lose weight so many times and have on a couple of occassions just to gain it back plus some. My husband and I tried a couple diets together only to fail and then I said "forget it, I don't care how big I am." But that was a lie.

I watched the Biggest Loser with Matt and Suzy and that show did inspire me. I know it's not going to happen that quick but I am determined this time. I want to be able to do things with my kids without getting out of breath or wondering if their friends are making fun of their "fat mom". I want to walk into a store and not look for the plus size clothing. I want to know that my husband is teling the truth when he says I look good and I want the dr to tell me I no longer need blood pressure meds.

I started dieting last Sunday and I did so well all week. I didn't weigh myself til this morning and I'm only going to weigh once a week. I have an exercise bike and I've been riding it. My 15 year old son has also walked with me around our neighborhood every night this week. I feel good about this. I am pumped and ready to work it off.

I would love to hear back from any of you with any advice or tips you might have. I look forward to getting to know you all.

Hey everyone,
I think I have a good chance at the full time position I applied for at work...I
HOPE. It's mostly inside and it's more clerical. I'm not a real inside person but I'm great with customer service.
I've been op today. I plan to take a walk after I finish here.

Cyndi And stacy: We are glad to have ya'll here. You'll find lots of support.

Labchick: Wecome back. It is so great to hear from you...Onderland here we come.

Holly: Glad you are feeling better.
You are really kicking butt with your avon business.
Those pictures a great. You might have been smaller then but you look so relaxed and more at ease with yourself now. Your hair is beautiful. My mother was a redhead and I alway wanted to be. Mine used to have lot's of red hi-lights now it's just turning gray..LOL

Annie, Susie, and anyone I missed. I hope everyone is well.

Well the weekend is almost over and I haven't lost, but I haven't gained either - PHEW! I knew that the scale would stop moving after the initial water loss. Either way it feels good to be back on track and I'm looking forward to seeing the scale start moving again in a while.

Debbie - I hope you get the position. I also hope it's everything you want it to be if you get it. It's always nice to change it up every once in a while. I recently changed positions too and after the first few months of stress, am finally feeling like I belong there.

Upswife - Food allergies can really mess a good thing up, but knowledge is power.

Cindy and Stacy - Welcome!

Suzy - it's good to see you again (or at least your typing ;o))

Gotta get my sorry butt to work,

Nan

Good Morning Everyone. We got some snow here last night but heavy winds. Let's hope the power doesn't quit. I would never have made it in the days before modern conveniences like coffee makers and microwaves. As in usual weigh in day fashion, I loosened up with the food yesterday but I am up and rejuved for a new day today.

Debbie- Good luck with the FT. Sounds like you are doing great.
Ellen- It's always good to find out about allergies and sensitivities to foods before you have a bad reaction. I few years ago I broke out in horrific hives and swore it was something in a chicken salad I had for lunch that day. Turned out I was allergic to the cillan family of antibiotics that I had finished a few days before. Point of story is that it was scary not knowing what was happening.
Cyndi- Welcome. Support is one of the most important tools for successful weight loss. You did a great job coing here because you'll find plenty of it.
Stacy- Welcome. Glad to see you here. I am taking BP and Cholesterol meds right now and need to do something about my weight too. We can do this together. All of us.
Nan- Babysteps. One meal in front of the other and soon you'll be on your way. What's your plan? Talk to you soon.
Have a great day, all.

GOOD MORNING!!!!!

Woohoo, Deb~love a prayers for you!!!!!

Annie,HI~ I am recommitting too. I am feeling quite motivated this morning!

HI to everyone!!
Oh happy sigh. MY DD came into my room this morning and told me not to get up yet. She brought me up a coffee, with Daddy's help, to have in bed. On Fri I brought home a lap table from Grandma's to use upstairs to do paper work. SHe had a big plan of making breaky in bed for me but there wasn't time. Feeling very loved over here!!!!!!
DH and DS are off to a hockey tournament in a town 30 min from here. DD and I go to church for 10:15.I will await a call to hear the next game time and maybe we can go.
There is tidying to do but not monumental cleaning, woohoo.
I stuck fairly well to my CJ. I was sick most of the week so I am aiming to do better this week.
We have a potluck for the School Council Meeting tomorrow eve. I think I will make a carrot dish with walnut and spices.
I need to get my hair trimmed. I did my bangs last night.
I really should shower. PU!

HUGS!!!

you would think that finding out that I am sensitive to sugars I would have stayed away from them. But no, I just have to try to sabatoge all my hard work. I have been so bad this weekend, but I am still planning on having a couple of beers with DH while we watch the BEars game. Catch you later ladies!!
