Hello CER's

Sunny~it sounds like you had a wonderful birthday! I'm so happy to see you had a great day and sounds like you'll be celebrating for atleast the next week! Good for you!

Gary~glad nephew is doing well in school and improving. Slowly but surely. Think it's great that he likes to garden! It's good for kids to realize where our food comes from, and to get their hands in the dirt. I think they feel a real sense of accomplishment to see something they planted grown and fruit. I'm jealous that you have such great weather but what do I expect, i DO live in Minnesota......I can't wait for Spring, my favorite time of year. I'm going to plant herbs and flowers this year, maybe some tomatoes too.

I had a horrible Sat. after I vented to you, including getting in an argument with Les, which got very ugly. Including name calling....which I will not tolerate. He called me at work, just to give me grief. I hung up on him. I know i shouldn't but he called back and i just told him, look, i don't want to do this, so let's leave it like this. I want to handle it the right way. But I think it happened so God would show me he wasn't capable of having an adult disagreement. And i don't want him in my life. It's probably a good thing after all. But i moped around a little Saturday, got my hair cut and took a nap. Then my cousins were having a get together down at the KC hall. Was not in the mood, but i made myself go to be social. It was fine, but i didn't say too long. Then Sunday i got up and went to a different church i've wanted to go to for awhile. Knew a few people there and that is where I was suppose to be! Wonderful people, pastor, church. Heard annointed words i needed to hear. Was convicted of a few things and was really happy when I left. I came home and really got some things accomplished at the house and had a totally different attitude.

Tonight I step in for my cousin and lead Alpha and tell my joke! Nervous but confident that it'll be fine.

http://www.ecardgallery.com/egreetin.../iwshu08/1.gif Hello MICHELE, I am so sorry to hear that you and Les had an argument like that. Do you think that he is still feeling his loss? Sometimes grief brings out the worst in a person. Especially if they aren't sure where to go with it. Does he have someone to talk to about it? Someone professional? Just wondered... Have you heard from Charlie? What happened with him?

I think it is great that you tried another church and found it to be fulfilling. The Holy Spirit sure does know how to help us when we hear his voice and follow it. I wish you all the best this evening at Alpha --- you'll do well, you always do ;)

GARY, I must agree with Michele, I think it's wonderful that your DN likes to garden. So does my Joe... he finds it very peaceful & feels so accomplished when the plants do well & flourish. I think that your DN is doing real well on his grades too --- I was a B & C student myself, but think I had the potential to do so much better. If I didn't move so much and feel so insecure I know I would have done better... not to mention that dyslexia was not something most understood in the years I went to school. He is very blessed to have you around to love and encourage him.

*******

Dinner-time... I made Eggplant Parmesan :hun:
Boy --- does it ever get quiet here.
Sending  "Hello's" out to everyone!

Dr. Phil's tip of the day - what else are you doing while eating

Dr. Phil's Tip of the Day

If you're eating while you're reading this or while you watch TV, STOP! Eating while you're watching TV may be costing you 20 to 30 pounds every single year.

Research shows that if we eat while we're watching TV or reading or visiting with somebody else, we get real mindless about it. And so, what we do is, we just keep eating while we're watching the
television, and, surprisingly enough, the faster paced the show, the faster we eat.

So if you're eating and reading this right now, either the computer or your food has to go!

Need some extra prayers please

Please continue to pray for our situation with our son.

We are into our 2nd week now of him 'doing nothing'.
He tells us he knows that he needs a good education to get a good job, that he wants a good education because he would like to go to College.

But what he is saying does not match up with his actions. We have continued to give him chances to prove himself but he continues to fall behind, telling us that he has completed the days work and then when we go and check it, find out that out of 10 days, only 4 / 5 days worth of school has been completed.

Yes he is completing all work on some days - but in order to complete school when he should - he has to apply himself. If he was in the school system he would have only 2.5 years to go to graducate - but he will not be able to do this due to being behind.

He has 2 options for schooling: (a) To go to the public school system starting in September for the next 2 years - at that time he would not be allowed back into the school due to his age - this would only give him Grade 10 because in September he would have to start grade 9 all over even though he has only Math to complete in that grade. (b) To continue being homeschooled and to really apply himself between now and June 2006 in order to complete Grade 9 Math, and then Grades 10 through 12. It would be a lot to accomplish but it could be done with deligent work, and working on it through the summer - but it could be done should he really want Grade 12.

Today he told us 'it's to hard to get all this work done, so why try' - he said he understands that if he doesn't try that the best he could accomplish is Grade 10. This limits employment greatly as just about all jobs now require a Grade 12 certificate.

We told him today that the longer he sits and does not decide to put his mind to doing the work, the harder it will be to complete school.

He is really lacking motivation and purpose - at this time in his life (age 16) he seems to be quite content to going for longs walks in the mornings, having lunch and then laying down on his bed all afternoon and evening and read.

He admits the biggest problem he is having at this time is admitting that to continue with school - either public or homeschool - is that he will have to take directions from an adult and he doesn't want that - and he especially said he doesn't want to have to be told by me - his mom - what he needs to do in any given day to complete school. He says he wants to decide what and when to do it - and he admits that most days he decides not to do what is necessary.

This boy is very bright and it is hard to sit back and watch a bright child waste what Christ has given him - and we are concerned for his future - we cannot continue to support him after age 19 - food, clothing, medical, entertainiment ect ect - but if he does not get his education the job situation is limited for him. Should he be able to hold any job at that time he would be fortunate to bring home just to feed himself - but not to put a roof over his head or clothes on his back let along all the other necessary things in life

Please pray that the 'devil' will release this boy and that Christ will have victory - that our son will understand what he has to do to survive and will step up to the plate and do it.

Please pray that for us, his parents, that we can release the worry, anxiety, stress over this situation, leaving it Christ's hands as we feel that until our son steps up to the plate and shows a complete change of heart as to following instructions that we cannot school him - we have given in numerous times before only to find that even though he says he wants another chance and will do the work within one / two weeks he is back to sitting and doing nothing and complaining about school.

As we parents we appreciate all of your prayers - we need it so that (a) son will see the light (b) our health - especially mine with the cancer - will not be negatively affected due to the stress this is bringing on us (c) that the situation of watching our beautiful son doing nothing will not do any further damage to our family re pulling it down to Satan's level

Thanks everyone

Sunny D-Happy Birthday! Sorry so Late but that is me day late and dollar short as they say!
Mitchypoo-So sad to hear about your problems. I am glad that you enjoyed Church and as sunny said the Good Lord lead you where you needed to be.
Sprout-I think here that they have speical programs that will allow kids to go until they are 21 because I deal with that group a lot through work.
Ez-My DD is really pushing her limits with me. For some reason she has really slacked off. So I have the game boy in my purse(her first love) And my 16 yr old got into a fight with her bestfriend and now her friend told her Mom things about my DD and the Mom couldn't wait to tell! So she is big time grounded! Talk about STRESS!!!!!
Angel Lover-Prayers are going your way!!!!
Sue-Praying that you are not being over worked!
Wilma-You household sounds as busy as mine. It is kind of nice that I have three (counting my new SIL) who are more than willing to help drive the other kids where they need to be.
Garnet-How is the diet going?

Well got to go crack the whip! Time to get those kids to school!

http://www.eakles.com/102SUN3.gifMorning everyone! Might as well be bubbly.... :D Sure is raining here again today! Should get more later this week. Already had flooding the last few days in a lot of areas around us.

Michelle...I'm so sorry about Les. SunnyD is right. Sometimes grief makes us strike out. Then, again, you know him better than us. I would wonder if all problems would make him strike out like that. So far, you've used good judgement. I'll help you pray about it. I had hight hopes for the shy guy. ;) But, then, this is about you...not me. :D
Glad you enjoyed the new church. Sometimes we need a change. Doesn't mean something was wrong with where we've been, just need new things in our life. Any time you need to vent....we're here!

Hello SunnyD...Have you gotten your glasses back yet? You may have said so...but, missed a few posts I suppose. Hard to catch up. All your pics & graphics are great...I know I don't say it often enough...but, do notice. It takes time to do all that...as, I'm finding out...so, know that I do appreciate them!

Sprout...you made me feel guilty! My computer is where I eat everything at! Home & at work! Well...sometimes at my desk...but, the computer is at the table beside my desk! Room for more food. We keep candy bowls filled full on all the desks, also! Oh, & we have a cooking show taped on Mondays...a very good cook! She lets the staff eat after the taping! I'M DOOMED!! I HAVE gained 3 or 4 lbs lately that I've got to get off. It's one thing to lose....but, gotta maintain.
So sorry about problems with your son. Been there!!! Our son finally dropped out of school, & still reqrets it. There was a couple of teachers/coaches who discouraged him when he thought about going back. It's a shame. He was very good in sports & they wanted their child to be the best at the school. You'd be surprised what can go in school...other than basic education. DH lays floor covering. He says when he hires a young man as a helper, the first thing he has to teach him is how to read a tape measure! Sad. Hang in there....prayers are going up!

I'm putting a link to some pics I posted. A couple of them are just of me. We'd been talking about a day I went out with my daughter...so, was showing them how I dressed that day. Anyway, the other is a pic of Gina & Tori & Jamie with me & DH the day we said goodbye.
Keep praying for Chris...he'll be delayed getting home...but, hopefully is in Kuwait by now. Gina is fit to be tied! Thought he'd be home today. I explained we all had been praying for his safety...so she had to trust the Lord was answering prayers. That has to come first. He'll be home soon. It seemed to help her.

Hope all have a good day.

Good Morning!

 I hope everyone is having a great start to their day. I am. I had a great sleep and have just finished my scrambled eggs and coffee before heading off to work.

Angel: I love the bright graphics. They make me feel that spring is around the corner. You'll lose those extra pounds you've gained. Just look at how far you've come.

Michele: I'm so sorry about Les. I agree with Sunny that he is still probably grieving. Sometimes we hurt the ones we care about the most.

Sami: In your busy-ness make sure you take some YOU time!!

Sprout: I appreciate reading the Dr. Phil tips. This one was bang on. Still praying for your family.

Sunny: With all the exercising you're doing you should be able to have dessert on your birthday. I know what you mean by being ready for summer. My nephew is getting married this summer and I would love to show up thin!! I'm going to try to get a pic of my quilt and post it so you can see it. I'm quite excited about it.

Gary: Are you out shopping for the next great meal you're going to make? Tonight it's veggie quiche for DS and I. Looking forward to it.

Have a super day!

http://www.ecardgallery.com/egreetin...gwisdm08/5.jpgGood afternoon everyone

So good to see everyone :) I went to Curves this morning and really worked up a sweat today... it always feels good to get out and work out. 2 days down and 3 to go... ... ...

http://www.ecardgallery.com/egreetin...isdm08/div.gif

Hi WILMA,
I would love to see your quilt! Cannot wait, I bet it is beautiful! Doesn't a good night's sleep make a world of difference :) Glad you had such a great start to your day.

You know something, Wilma... with all the exercise I am doing I am NOT LOSING weight???:?:!!! This is so baffling to me. I have been OP with the exception of my birthday and it is so hard to see that I am not losing with all I am doing. This crazy body of mine! I do feel better and see some toning up going on in my legs and arms, but no weight loss & my clothes are still feeling a bit too snug for my taste. Joe tells me to just stay away from the scale for a couple weeks, but I find it difficult to do :( I will keep on exercising - I have to see something change eventually. I have never been one for patience I am afraid.

Thanks MARILYN,
That is something I DID stop doing about 7 weeks ago --- I stopped eating while on the computer. But am still working on the TV part :^:

Hi ANGEL,
Thank-you! I too enjoy your graphics/animations... in fact, I grabbed your sun from today's post for my e-mails (hope you don't mind) he's cute. I have a link at the bottom to more pictures ;) I enjoyed your pictures today too! Good pictures of you Charlotte!

Yes, I did get my glasses back, but they put in the wrong lens on the left eye!! Can you believe it! So they gave me back my new glasses with the wrong lens till the right one comes in. It was suppose to be [-150] and they put in [+150] and tried to convince me that it was what I needed!!!!! I told them I couldn't see :o These people are something... but they are the only place my insurance would accept :p The Dr. is good - it's the people that work in the office. Soon I hope I will have to correct lens. They just called me and told me it was in, but I won't have time to get to them right now - maybe at the end of the week.

Thank-you SAMI,
For this B-day wishes ;)

http://www.ecardgallery.com/egreetin...gwisdm08/6.jpg"Thank-you" everyone!

I have some more kitty pictures, if you liked to see them - just click on the link & scroll all the way down ;):

Tip of the day from Dr. Phil - overwhelmed with how much you have to lose?

Dr. Phil's Tip of the Day

If you're overwhelmed with how much weight you have to lose, and it seems like you'll never be able to climb that mountain, here's some good news.

Excessive eating happens in less than five minutes a day. You have certain periods during your day that maybe are associated with a location, maybe it's associated with a time of day, or maybe it's
associated with an activity. Identify your high-risk times and those are the only moments that really threaten you.

It's called "impulse eating" and if you'll identify those specific moments during your day and make sure that you're performing some incompatible behavior, you'll get past the impulse moments and won't struggle the rest of the day.

Identify them and do something incompatible at that point in time.

Hi there!

I am off today went grocery shopping and got my running around done, then got caught up here with reading! I got 14 hrs OT in in the last couple days. I started a different diet on last Thurs. so far so good, decided to stay off scales at least for awhile I think that is how I get discouraged, when not see a lose. I have always suffered from low blood suger, so I am trying the new shakes by ensure glucerna. So far I am doing well, I am not hungry between meals. Time will tell, I had fallen away from SBD, although my dad is still doing it, and is doing well, lost 40 lbs all total, and has maintained that lose. I had gained back my loss so I am starting from scratch again, staying busy has helped as well. EZ.- Thanks for sites- I really enjoyed thing with Paul Harvey, I always enjoyed his commentary anyway. Prayers for Vince and daughter's safety sounds like she probably is home already. What a great role model, and parent to your nephew. Glad to hear you are legal guardian. Keep sending that warm weather ! Angel- Pray your sil got home safely, have kept all our soldiers in prayer. Things appear to be going a little better over there now. Garnet- yes that is the book I highly reccommend it, it is great, and I haven't wanted to put it down either. Sprout- you're doing awesome what an inspiration you'll make it to goal. Prayers for your son, pray that situation is worked out. Sunny- HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY TO YOU! MAY GOD'S RICHEST BLESSING ABIDE UPON YOU.

Mitchypoo 02-10-2004 06:00 PM

Sunny~I noticed your signature, your weighing in today! How'd you do? Are you below that dreaded number?

doitforme 02-10-2004 06:31 PM

Continued!

Mitchy- Sorry to hear your having a rough time of it, sorry to hear about dad, my parents are also in their 60's still very active, but it is so hard to see them start failing, pray things go better for ya, Sami- hope your dd is feelin much better. Happy to hear your bringing your pillows, it'll give E.Z. more to carry, He won't ming though  I know what you mean about loosing posts been there done that! Wilma- always nice getting compliments! I have a flat but. My jeans sag there. :o sounds like your doing well. Did your aunt enjoy her party, going to sign off till tom, or Fri. Hope all is well. See ya!

wilma12 02-10-2004 07:03 PM

Sunny: I'm still struggling with the weight loss too. I've lost 5lbs but have trimmed off 9 inches. My instructor at Curves said that it'll come off but that you're building muscle and toning. I can really feel it in my clothes so don't give up. It'll come and we'll both be really svelt chicks.
