Here are a couple pictures of Guido helping Joe put in the new TV last night...
Isn't this the cutest!!! Guido is standing on his tippy-toes! |
Hi There!
Sorry I been away for a few days, I tried to log on monday but couldn't get connected. We had a super bowl party at church and during the commercials pastor s put the channel on the history channel where they were discussing Joseph and Egypt ect. Then during half time we watched our own half time show of pictures of the church family from the previous year it was cool the mission trips ect. So I missed Janet's explotation. I agree with ya E.Z. CBS knew what was gonna happen viacom owns MTV and CBS so they are definitely in bed together. Sad that nothing is left for family viewing. People should be outrraged, but it will blow over and nothing will be done.
E.Z. still praying for the vicar, let us know how He makes out. I take 59 without a problem its snowing 9 in predicted and a Northeastern this weekend. Hi wilma- great idea with the fruit as a snack. Hi mitchy so glad to hear things are working out for you, I want to see the passion as well, the clips of the movie, look good. Hi Garnet- short story west to Alaska because cheaper than Canadian rail, and my dear sweet bil will not fly. Train should be neat though. Hi Sami- hope your soon feeling better. Welcome divine favor- stick around let us know how your doing, Hi sprout you go girl, joining curves. I will keep your son in prayer. Hi sunny- love the kitties! and your poem. Hi angel- hope your soon feeling better! and your p.c. as well. Well gotta run, try not to be gone so long had alot of reading to catch up with. Gotta work days tom. then off Thurs. Stay warm ! |
HI All, Gotta be quick tonight Ron has homework. Just got back from step-d's soccer game against the cross town rival (my alma mater, my daughter's, my son's- and where he coaches) she lost 1-0. Wouldn't have been so bad but if they don't beat them the next time they play her team will probably end up in last place in league-- if they win the two cross town high schools will tie for last in league play. My son had to come from coaching track practice- people that don't know him couldn't figure out why he was on my step-d's side and rooting for her team while he wore the colors (jacket and hat) of the opposition.
Sunny- we have the tickets to Passion because we rented the whole theater for the showing but it isn't being shown here yet-- I think Feb.25th or so for the first one. Sending more sun SUE-- good Prayers for your health ANGEL--- Angie is yelling dinner--- gotta go |
Good Morning!
It's a frigid -30C here this morning. I got myself warmed up at Curves and am now enjoying a hot cup of coffee before I head off to work. I managed to stay away from food last night. I worked on my quilt all evening. It's going to be so cute! Work is really busy right now so having something relaxing to do in the evening releases the stress.
Angel: I sure hope you're feeling better soon. Take care!! Sunny: I have a 27" too and love it. Great going on Curves. You should be seeing results really soon!! Gary: You must be the kid's #1 fan. I kind of miss those days-except for watching football in the snow. DS plays hockey but his games are so late at night and I need my beauty rest. doitforme: Good to see you! Post when you can. Hello to everyone else! Have a great day! |
Wednesday Morning...

Good Morning WILMA, Burrr ~ you can keep your temps ;) We are at 22* right now and the sun is breaking through - so nice to see. I am so looking forward to Spring. Thank you so much for encouraging me to go to Curves!! I just got back from going to Curves this morning... what a busy morning it was! When I got there @ 8:15 there were only two stations open (we have 11 machines) and 4 ladies waiting behind me. It was good to see so many getting in their workouts http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_1_204.gif So good to hear that you have gotten your woukout in already too. We must encourage one another to get in that exercise... :coach: Coach GARY has really helped me! Especially with my elliptical on the days I don't go to Curves. Thanks to him & have made my way up to 30 minutes :cp: I appreciate it from anyone... I need that or I cave into just staying in my jammies & the comfort of my home :^: Especially because it's so cold outdoors right now... Yes, we are really enjoying the looks of our new TV... cannot believe how much that inch or two makes & the picture is so crisp & clear... nice to watch. Your quilt sound so nice, wish we could see it. I do counted cross stitching in the evenings. I think it's good to have a hobby to relax to. I had to put it down till I got my glasses repaired, but all is well now. Today, I am going out to lunch and shopping with my girlfriends daughter, Sandy. It's been a long time since we have gotten together and I am really looking forward to it. She wants to check out the new Wal-Mart that just opened not far from us. Morning GARY! Have you found that new puppy yet??? Or are you still looking? I was checking them out on the web yesterday --- they are adorable! Are you still getting in your workouts? I am up to 30 minutes now :) Sorry to hear that your SD's team lost... next game they'll win it. About "The Passion": Yes, I understood that your whole church got the tickets (& that's how you got yours), but usually by now you see some type of advertising. You know... It does come out on the 25th of February (Ash Wednesday)... Mel Gibson is a Catholic Christian, that's why he chose the 25th. Hi SUE!! Feel Better ANGEL :grouphug: Good job SPROUT! :cp: ******* You all have a Wonderful day! Get in your exercise today ;) (((Hugs))) SunnyD PS>>> MICHELE??? Where are you :?: GARNET??? SAMI??? |
Puppy?
GARY, This is a Yorkiepoo... is he similar to what you both are looking to get? So cute!! I saw them in all different colors...

Still feeling pumped!
Had my 3rd workout at Curves since joining on Saturday. It is really helping in the energy - seems to give me so much more. Have done the workouts on Saturday, Monday and Wednesday of this week. Think I am going to be trying to to every Monday, Wednesday and Friday after my 2 mile walk. And then on the other days I will just do my walk.
This coming Tuesday they are going to off a 6 week support group at Curves after they close at 8 pm. Cost is $60.00 but for every meeting you come to you get back $10.00 - so it really isn't costing anything. With it they are giving out the book 'Curves' and there will be discussion re following the food plan. It sounds interesting - would like to have the book so am going to give it a try. Hubby still is sick - 3rd day on meds. Hopefully he will be better to go back to work by Friday - when he is not out on the trains he gets no pay so it makes the paycheque very small when this happens. Son is still doing 'his thing' but believe we have come up with a plan that will get him back on track. Please pray about it. Otherwise all is well - have to run, daughter is about to go out with her youth care worker. |
i want a yorkiepoo!
Don't you think Mitchypoo should have a yorkiepoo??!! They are adorable. I don't think i'd heard of them before. I also would like to have a "white" labrador someday, they are just gorgeous.
Sunny~I'm here......thanks for missing me! ;) I think i tried to post yesterday and got sidetracked or something. Your TV is nice. That was a cute pic of the kitty. You sound like me, your cat doesn't have "paws" he's on his tippy toes. I love how curious cats are, makes me laugh. I always refer to Simba like she's human, my mom gets a kick out of it. I'll talk about her feet, not her paws. But then she refers to her as her "granddog" too! I'm trying to find a photographer to take our pic. I want something artistic that shows our relationship, i just don't want a portrait of us. I want it in B&W and to show emotion. I've had this in my mind lately, cuz she'll be 12 in July and I know she's getting old. I can't even think of losing her. WOE is BAD, BAD, BAD........don't even ask. I'd blame it on PMS, but i'm trying to not make excuses. It's just me i guess. Charlie is AWOL! :?: I don't know what happened. I haven't heard from him since Sunday, i emailed him and no response. I don't know what to think.... I have heard from Les....we've had some serious discussions in the last couple days, i'm a tad confused about what's going on, but i'm emotionally very involved with him. We both want to do what is right for us, what God wants, but something tells both of us that we should be together. We'll see, i'm watching his actions, not his words. Hello to all! |
Sprout~you are really doing well, i'm proud of you! That program w/Curves sounds wonderful.
Sorry hubby is still sick.......poor baby! :( |
Hey Where is my post? I did and nice long post this morning and it is gone! I don't know where the time goes. My one DD is trying to slack off the homework again so it makes the nights long here. And my 16 yr old has gotten her first job! But she has to have a CPR class that will cost me 116.00 dollars! on top of her speech team trip! And my other DD is getting ready to go on trip to WI for basketball! Wow it busy here and even DS has a girl calling that has put him in such a great mood he has been more than willing to do anything needed around the house! (I like this)
Sprout-I pray things are going well for you with your son. I am glad you are getting out and enjoying curves! EZ-My MIL had yorkiepoo's they were so cute! She would sit and play with thier hair and they liked to take long walks! I have a sm dog and I can tell you they take up a lot less room in bed than the big dog does! Mithchypoo-I can't wait to see the picture! I think I want one with my doggie too! My little doggie loves me the best and everywhere I go when I walk in the house she follows (even the bathroom) Angle lover-I hate to hear you are feeling so bad. I pray that the RA gets better! And the computer you sure don't need anything else to go wrong! Divine-A big welcome! looking forward to getting to know you. Sue-can I fit my down pillow in with me? SunnyD-I love your pic! They always make me smile! I am glad you are feeling better. One of my new bosses at work just moved here from CA and her 4 yr old son was put into the hospital because his neck ballooned out and they thought they would have to put a breathing tube in. They have him on some meds and he is doing much better now but keep him in your prayers! My friend also got hurt at work and had knee surgery today she is doing well but they said in about 5 yrs she will need new knees! She is planning on having the tummy surgery sometime this year so maybe she will lose so much she won't need it! Wilma_You are doing so great! I know it helps to keep busy at night I go upstairs so I stay away from the food!!!!!!! Your right I know I will miss the kids games when they stop playing but I will never miss having bleacher butt! (Who am I kidding when ALL of my kids grow up I'll have so many grandkids I never get past bleacher butt!) Well better check on DD homework because I know she isn't doing it if I am not watching! |
HI GALS- I will come back later if I can-- but I wanted you all to see a cool site my church just e-mailed me about the movie-- go to www.thepassionofthechrist.com

Dr. Phil tip of the day - snacks!
Snack Attack
By JJ Virgin, CNS, CHFI In The Ultimate Weight Solution, Dr. Phil stresses the importance of learning the discipline of three meals and two snacks to keep blood sugar stable and cravings at bay. This means you should be eating two snacks per day to ensure that you eat every three to four hours. It is important that you plan these out ahead of time so that you aren't forced to rely on willpower when you start to get hungry. Here are some High-Response Cost, Hunger-Suppressor snack ideas that you can easily prepare: Yogurt parfait Nonfat plain yogurt sweetened with cinnamon and no-sugar added vanilla extract. (If you need it sweeter initially while you are weaning yourself off the sweet taste, add xylitol, a sugar alcohol that doesn't raise insulin and helps reduce the risk of tooth decay, or splenda). Add 1/2 cup of your favorite fruit. (My top choices are diced apple for crunch or frozen berries defrosted and with a little of their juice — no sugar added of course — for a great antioxidant punch!) Celery sticks stuffed with ... - Peanut or almond butter.* - Light whipped cream cheese or ricotta cheese whipped with your favorite herb mix and with 1-2 chopped olives or walnuts stirred in. Tortilla roll-ups using low carb or whole wheat tortillas - Almond or peanut butter* whipped with light whipped cream cheese or lowfat ricotta cheese. Spread 1-2 Tbsp. on tortilla, add 1/4 cup chopped apple for some crunch. - Cottage cheese or light whipped cream cheese, salsa, chopped red peppers and jicama. Great portable snacks: - 10 raw nuts and a fruit serving. - 1 oz. lowfat or nonfat cheese (especially string cheese) and a fruit serving. Apple slices and nut butter Baked apple Sprinkle with cinnamon and bake, fill with lowfat ricotta or cottage cheese and top with a Tbsp. of freshly ground flaxseed meal. Smoothie 1 scoop whey protein powder, 1/2 cup berries, 1/2 cup nonfat plain yogurt or cottage cheese, 1/2 cup ice and 1/2 cup water, cinnamon and vanilla extract. Try freezing this and have as a popsicle. Faux trail mix 1/2 cup Kashi Go Lean cereal, 1 Tbsp. dried fruit pieces (no sugar added) and 1 Tbsp. chopped nuts. 1 cup steamed edamame (soybeans) in the shell 1 cup veggie soup Raw veggies and dip Use olive oil, Dijon and balsamic vinegarette or nonfat sour cream mixed with your favorite spices. Rice cake topped with - Nut butter and a tsp. of chopped no sugar added dried fruit - Whipped cream cheese and salsa *Read the labels and choose the peanut butter that doesn't contain partially hydrogenated oils or high fructose corn syrup. Almond butter is a great source of essential fatty acids. |

Thought this was an interesting article
Knowing your Thyroid
Forgetful, depressed, fatigued, losing your hair? If these symptoms sound familiar, it may be more than the winter weather getting you down. You may, in fact, be suffering from a thyroid disorder. Your thyroid, a tiny butterfly-shaped gland located on either side of your windpipe, produces thyroid hormones that have a significant influence on every organ system in your body. These hormones affect your digestion, heart rate, sweat glands, body temperature, nervous and reproductive systems, and body weight. About one in 20 Canadians has some degree of thyroid abnormality, and women are five to seven times more likely to be affected than men. When the body does not produce enough thyroid hormone, the condition is called hypothyroidism. Symptoms include feeling cold, fatigue, dry skin, coarse and thinning hair, brittle nails, poor memory and weight gain. Treatment is as simple as thyroid replacement therapy, but if left untreated, the condition can lead to swelling of the extremities and heart disease. On the other hand, when the body produces too much thyroid hormone, the disorder is referred to as hyperthyroidism, which is characterized by nervousness, hand tremors, flushed skin, mood changes, irregular heartbeat, difficulty sleeping, and loss of appetite Hyperthyroidism can be treated with anti-thyroid drugs, surgery or iodine radiation. If left untreated, hyperthyroidism may lead to osteoprosis, and even heart failure. Wow Sprout thank you for all your helpful insight. I think my oldest DD is suffering from thyroid problems. She is having more blood work done but even though she is in still in the normal range hers has gone way up from low normal to highest normal so they are going to run one more test and then if it is still high they are going to start her on meds. I talked to my one friend with Lupus last night and she is doing well! She has been sooooo sick that I was so worried about her. But she is having some good days right now so pray that it continues. My other friend who got hurt at work Please keep her in your prayers she fell on her knee and hit hard! They have it all on tape. When they took her to the hospital the dr. put on a brace and said she needed to see a ortho but put her on light duty. She couldn't walk or drive! So she had to use vac time until she saw the ortho a week later who said NO way could she go to work she was to stay off and keep her leg up and they had to do surgery. Her work called her and told her that she might not have a job to come back to if she stays gone to long! Now she is all stressed about that! And because she had some wear and tear on her knees anyways maybe it isn't thier fault! Now remember her fall was caught on tape and it isn't the workmans comp saying this it is her supervisor because she is upset because she now has to step up and do her job. The day before surgery she went out to get pre opt blood work done and and they stopped to eat and get some of the things she will need after surgery and someone from work told her boss she was out having a good time and nothing was wrong! I can't belive how mean people can be.
Well sorry to have vented this morning just can't stand to see people to be kicked when they are down. I will post more postive latter! |
