The party was really good. The doughnuts were all at different heights depending on the kids height (yes I knelt to reach mine) Drank far too much to be healthly I always used to drive us home, but since Ray got his new landrover he drives everywhere, not good for my motivation, especially as he took us all out for dinner last night at a family restaurant.......

The scales will tell the truth tonight. The mirror did this morning, tummy was bulging, am more likely to be nearer 210lbs tonight than 200.

Cathy - sounds like you are motivated.

it has been a while since I have posted. I went to the store yesterday to get some good food in the house. Still struggling to quit smoking, but the eating has gone well. Lost 1lb last week.

I will check in later -

Meg

Congrats on the weightloss Meg

I had 12-1300 Cals yesterday..i'm not sure what one choc covered cherry is worth it will be easier when they have the nutritional values on the packet Have'nt added up todays totals yet but it looks pretty good. I've found that i'm never hungry at work don't know if its the chocolate aroma or not i was thinking of not bothering taking any lunch because i never feel like it..i just eat it because its lunchtime but then i think what if i get starving in the afternoon i might go on a chocolate binge

Cathy when I have the munches I find a cup of hot chocolate takes them away for hours, the taste and the smell just takes away all notions of eating, maybe it's the same with smelling chocolate all day. If I can't get a mug of lite hot chocolate find a cappachino has the same affect, think that is because I'm not much of a milk person and I have to build up to eating again after drinking it in a hot drink. Strange I can have it cold on cereal, milk not cappachino's but can't stand milky drinks except in exceptional circumstances, like being absolutely starving.

Am prattling on here, am really struggling with the eating at the moment, but have given myself the usual talking to. I am not going back up the scale I am going down. Even if it takes me another year.

Best go get myself organised for tomorrow.

Hello ladies,

smiling sal I am with you.. I am going to get down, sooner or later, perferrably sooner. At curves they are having a 6 week challenge, I am not entering it..I have decided this is a life change for me and I am exercising for health reason, my doctor was very happy that I joined. He does not stress weight, he stresses health.. which is how I am going to look at this.. don't get me wrong I am still cutting back and counting calories, but I am not giving myself a time limit, all that ever did was stress me out and I ended up not loosing an ounce or even gaining some. So it's slow and steady for me this time.. exercise 3 days a week at curves and more activity else where, and just plain eating less. But when I do eat, I am not making anything a no-no, I can have anything, only less of it.. over time I will find that smaller portions and bites of things will be enough to satisfy me.* I am hoping anyway*.

How is everyone doing? I am doing well. As I said I saw the doc this past Monday for my yearly checkup, all my blood work came back normal and good, including my cholesterol. I am in good health basically. So now I shall just get in better shape.

It's getting cold here. But I guess it's that time of year. Can you believe the holidays are almost here. Well, I am ready. Today I bought a few more holiday decorating items, some garland of poinettias for my mantle. I have gotten so many different things to decorate with this year, that when I get out my boxes, I will be surprised... It will be lots of fun to decorate with new stuff. I love to decorate... can you tell.

Our house is almost all sided. It looks so cool. I love it. Hubby and son and our hired hand are doing it. They have done a beautiful job and it only cost about 1/10 of what the professionals wanted.

Ok, I've bored you all enough about me.... hope you all are having a great week, more of you need to post more often, so we can all have more to read.

Hi Ladies,

Good news about your blood work Dahlia i don't go to doctors so i have no idea what my cholesterol is or any of that stuff

I was a bit of a at work today i had fun with Tami taking the chocolate of the belt and the nozzles that put the pattern on the chocs kept playing up and a big trail of dark chocolate came down the belt so i broke a big piece of that off to try it was so good and when the chocolate nougats came down i tried a few of those too Tami said it was 'quality control' I've had my quota of choc for the week so I'd better get back on the straight and narrow

I walked 2.5mls when i got home so far i'm sticking with my promise to do some every night but i don't always want to i just want to put my feet up and sit in front of the TV.

at you Cat! I can just see you at work doing your quality control!!

Well, I had the best apple crisp tonight with McIntosh toffee icecream on top. YUM. 'Bout tells you how I've been doing.

Actually it hasn't been to bad, but I'm just not being consistent enough to LOSE. I'll have a great couple days...but then the rest of the week happens. I'm not sure how to stay motivated and consistent to see this 70 lbs off!!!!! But I'm not out of the game.

Had a terribly busy day and need to get to bed. Jim is out with friends watching The Matrix tonight- he was up at 5 and this was a 10:15 show. Someones going to be a tired boy tomorrow! (and someone is still going to go out with *her* friends! )

Dahlia- you sound like you are doing it right! WTG

later girls!

Hi Ladies,

Remember me! I am still around and still trying to lose more weight but like Jeylnn, I am not being consistant enought. I need to stay motivated every day. I have been going up and down with the same three pounds over and over again.

I really did badly over halloween. I had been doing really well before that and was down to my lowest weight yet and then I had a chocolate attack! Couldn't get enought of the stuff. Thank God I don't work with chocolate like Cat. I would eat all the profit! We only had six kids come trick or treating and I knew that is about all we would get, but I bought a whole lot of candy "just in case" and then ate it all. For three days I pigged out on candy! I thought I had learned how to control portions over the last couple of years, but now I find myself struggling again!

Also, I am not doing very well with exercise. I keep looking at my treadmill, saying I have to get walking, but I only walked on it once last week, and found it really hard even to walk a half mile. I need to start now and work my way up again until I am walking regular. I know exercise is the key to me losing more weight and being healthy. Dahlia is right, it is important not to do this just to lose weight but to become healthy and not have to take so many medications. It has to be a way of life, not just a quick fix to lose a few pounds.

At least I am holding my own so I don't gain back what I have lost. I weight myself every day, and if I am up, I cut back on eating and lose it right away. That is what I am doing now, after my chocolate binge.

Meigg, you are right, having good food in the house is so important. I find if I eat good healthy meals, I can stay with the diet or "live it" so much better. Its when I skip meals or get too hungry that I eat the things I shouldn't!

Well ladies, I will say bye for now and go tackle that treadmill! May we all have an op day. WE CAN DO THIS, I CAN DO THIS, I CAN!

Grandma G. good to see you back. I am lucky for Halloween the only ones we get trick or treating are our grandchildren, so I make up a small bag for each of them and that is it.. I try to buy candy for DH that I don't like, and I can't eat chocolate so try not to have it around.. I love it but it don't like me.... anyway, I am used to not eating it. Cat you'll taper off, after a while you will be sick of seeing so much chocolate...so may as well enjoy it now.
We have to enjoy our lives as we go, after all we only get one crack at this, we can't spend our lives depriving ourselves of everything... just have to learn some self control... I used to have such good control when I was younger... not sure what happened to it..

Well, just wanted to say hi to grandma g and the rest of you for now.. I am back from curves and grocery shopping, takes me longer these days I read more labels.. but try to only have good food in the house as Meigg says... if it's not here I won't eat it...

Have a good one all,
later,
Dahlia

Hi again,

I did it, I walked on the treadmill. Only 16 minutes and only 1/2 mile, but it is a start and I am going to keep track of it here on this message, that helped me to keep at it before, hopefully it will help this time too There are 22 days until Thanksgiving - I will walk at least 15 miles by thanksgiving!

11/6/03 - 1/2 mile, 16 min.
11/7 - none
11/8 - none
11/9 - none
11/10 - none
11/11 - 1/2 mile, 16 min.
11/12 - l/2 to 3/4 mile, estimate, walked outside instead of on treadmill, what a beautiful day. I really enjoyed it.
11/13
11/14
11/15
11/16
11/17
11/18
11/19
11/20
11/21
11/22
11/23
11/24
11/25
11/26
11/27
I will do this, I will exercise every day. That is the key to losing pounds and getting healthy. I will also start journaling and writing down every thing I eat. That will help me to realize that I am eating too much to lose pounds. What I need is a reality check. The thing I am doing different then when I was losing regularly is that I am eating limited desserts and when I first started dieting I eliminated all desserts. In order to stay away from sweets, I have to stay away from all sweets, because some makes me crave more. Do other people have the same problem? Or is it just me!

Well, my house needs a good cleaning, that should burn a few calories, right? So I will say bye for now and get to work!

Hi Grandma glad to hear from you again and good job with the treadmill

Dahlia..i think they work it so that everyone takes a turn taking chocolates off of the belt so i've decided that the day i do it if i like the chocs i will try them i don't eat any in packing but today i did I tried a dark chocolate covered piece of orange peel !! i've never heard of such a thing and one of the girls said "its good, try it" so i did they are good too but i can still taste it..it keeps repeating on me

Em..i'm like that i can have 2 or 3 really good days and then just go mad on everything in one day

I've just made a cottage pie for dinner, its in the oven so i'll do a couple of miles and then tuck in
