Me again! One tired puppy here -- just popping in to say good night. Hey, Col, great job on avoiding Krispy Kremes and losing weight . Cathy, stay legal so you can see that little grandbaby of yours -- I bet you are already planning your next trip. Work was busy today and every bone aches in my body so I am going to call in the "Big Guns" -- Tylenol PM! See ya all in the AM .

Sweet dreams ..... Terry

Hi Ladies,

Hey T i think i should write 'Tylenol PM' on my shopping list i've never tried those before and they seem to work well for you.

I'm still in my dressing gown here @ 11.35am i've made some chocolate fibre cookies this morning and i'm just baking the 'easy apple cake' it smells yummy i'll be trying that straight out of the oven with light vanilla ice cream later i love anything made with apples my favourite dessert has got to be apple pie and ice cream with anything made with chocolate a close second

I've not done any exercise yet..but i will did another 4mls yesterday and lifted weights for about 15mins while i watched Rod Stewart on Oprah

Hmmmm, the cake is ready can you smell that lovely 'apple' aroma?

hi ladies,
Yes Cat I can smell it.. yummmm yummm.. last night I made some apple salsa and some cinnamon chips... delicious... and also for supper we had an apple/cashew salad with poppy seed dressing, homemade of course.. also delicious.. I am trying to make new recipes to use all the apples that are around. Both recipes were keepers as my dh says. Tonight is left over night, a little of this and a little of that..I have my pumpkin soup which hubby isn't crazy about, but I love it.

Just got home from shopping out of town, needed to go get some supplies for work. But alas only got 3 out of 4 items,, they were suppose to have gotten these things in last Friday when we stopped but they hadn't unpacked them yet.. now they tell me they weren't on the truck.. wish they would get their story straight. But since I couldn't buy it all there, we went to look at other places. I didn't find what I needed but we found a few fun things we didn't need but bought anyway.. Had chinese for lunch at the food court... I love chinese... had the pineapple chicken with fried rice and 2 crab rangoons.. I could eat those all day. So 2 was good for me. Now I have to get some book work done.. can't play all day.

Tomorrow morning I will go to curves again. They said to start with 3 days a week... so I will but for now I am going to go as often as I can.

Hope all are having a good day, later

Hello am recovering from a very energetic holiday in the highlands, it was brilliant fun but very exhausting, one of those holidays you need a rest to recover from when you get back home.

Am trying to house train Ray a bit more, he's not bad at the moment, but needs some encouragment to do more. My kitchen is so small it always looks untidy and trying to get him a bit more organised that instead of just dumping the dishes in the sink and loading the dishwasher later, to do it the first time and then there is no need for later. I am the worlds worst, but some gentle persuasion has seen him into the kitchen to tidy, I have even promised to empty it in the morning, best get up a few minutes early.

Gained 2.25lbs this week, nothing to do with all the wine and good food last week, of course. Must be a freak of nature, if only.

Need to work this weekend and am not looking forward to it, willonly take a couple of hours, but I can think of much better places to go. Maybe my back ups will fail tonight and I won't be able to meddle with the server until next weekend. Will live in hope.

Hey Cat--Tylenol PM works for me, too, when I just can't sleep. I make sure I have some in my travel kit when I'm on the road...sometimes I just can't sleep in a hotel.

Argh....it smells like someone made FRESH popcorn....we have a movie theater style popper at work, so that stuff is GOOOOOD!

Take care, all

Morning!

Welcome back from your vacation, Carol . I bet Scotland is just beautiful as it's one of the places on my wish list to explore someday -- that means I drool everytime you mention going somewhere! And, with the commitment to weight loss that you have lately, those few pounds will be history. Who doesn't gain on vacation??!!!!

Morning Coll -- yum, popcorn is my all time favorite. But, alas, I love it dripping with real butter! In fact, munched on some coming home from the grocery store last night after work. Ok, it didn't have real butter and it had 50% less fat but it was still good . Seeing I had no lunch, I indulged .

Fresh apple pie! I bet your home smelled wonderful, Cathy, after all that baking. All this food -- can you tell I have not had breakfast yet? Apple pie is better than oatmeal anyday! 4 miles and weights -- she's on a roll! Awesome!

Dahlia, sounds like you are gung ho on Curves -- that's a good thing! I hope you enjoy it as much as all the folks I know that go. Too bad you still have to make another trip for supplies. Sometimes they just don't know what they get until that truck is unloaded -- bummer I know.

It was busy at the store yesterday and I went to bed early -- I think I was sleeping by 8:30pm, and that was just about an hour after I got home. What a wild life!

But, hey, with the addition of exercise, I was down 4 pounds this week -- official weigh-in day too so I can record it .

I have to take my mom to the doctor at 9:30am this morning so I better get a move on. I am going to try to at least get in 20 minutes on the treadmill -- it really does make a difference with my weight loss.

How's the smoking going, Meg?

Pam and Em and everyone --- TGIF and have a great one at that!

Hi Ladies,

Terry 4lbs!! thats fantastic i'm down another 2 but i really need to follow a plan my calorie intake is still too high i've had much more than a 'portion' of that apple cake but at 210cals and 2gms fat it won't hurt too much

The sun is beating down today and i've got laundry to hang out thank god that that monsoon has passed the stats are out and one place up island beat us a little by getting 2ft of rain in a few day

Carol..i'd be happy if i could get hubby to move his plate from table to kitchen alas i fear it will never happen. When he leaves in a morning there are about 4 cups left on the table because he won't rinse one out to refill with coffee he just gets a clean cup!! and the cupboard door (where i store the cups) is left open apparently they only open one way he is a complete SLOB.

Colleen..i have a hot air popper and it is so good while it is still warm but i must admit my favourite is Caramel Corn and there is a 1lb bag in the cupboard

What has happened to Em? wonder if that darn computer of her's is on the fritz? what did she mean by "i'll send the check to Dell"? at first i thought she meant that she would send them the check to honour as she was sick of paying for repairs did she mean to buy a new computer?

Hi Pam..how are you too?

Laundry is finished..time to hang it out and then get exercising.

Have a Great Weekend Everyone!

Am trying to get my two motivated into a bike ride, have just given them lunch and told them they have half an hour while I sort the washing out them we are off, no excuses, am taking no rubbish from them, I want to go out on my bike and as Ray is out, they have to come with me. If they don't stop their moaning I'll drag them the long route instead of just down beside the river.

Well done everyone on the weight losses. I over did it last night, but the week is still salvageable, if I watch what I eat from here on and exercise everyday. I am dreaming of a loss on Wednesday, doesn't matter how big or small as long as the scale moves in the right direction.

Have to go find a pair of socks, my feet are absolutely freezing.

Just popping by for a moment to say hello and then it's off to work I go! Hey, I can rhyme .

Cathy, I can't imagine 2 ft of rain all in one period. I know you didn't get quite that much but have you ever flooded? I knock on wood that we have never had a water problem especially because our family room is in the "basement" and fully furnished.

Carol, I like your attitude regarding food -- one night off doesn't mean a bad week if you make up for it on the other six days. Enjoy your bike ride!

Didn't get in a full treadmill workout yesterday but ran/walked a mile -- at least it was something. Not sure about today though as I overslept and I still need to stop at the store for flowers for an employee who returned to work today after being in the hospital.

And, I still need to iron a shirt so let me say Adios now!

See you all on the rebound .

Morning Ladies

Terry, you are such a good Boss Buying flowers for Employees that have been sick..making meals for others they must you! I would love to work for you thats for sure
As for the flooding, no we have'nt..we are on a crawlspace and once a couple of years ago i noticed a pool of water coming in from a seam in the concrete where the floor meets the wall so hubby hired a pneumatic drill and dug down below that level on the outside of the house and installed a drainage pipe so that cured that and the other pipe at the other side of the house was buried in dirt and we only just uncovered that and extended it a couple of weeks ago and hubby said it was running like a waterfall so it was a good job we did that I have a friend that lives in the Valley and her basement floods and like yours it is furnished too so i don't know how she made out..have'nt seen her for ages.

I did'nt exercise yesterday went to the Chocolate Factory and applied for a temporary christmas job he said if i don't hear from him on Monday i've to call him on Tuesday.

Carol..hope you managed to get your bike ride in

Would love to post an advert somewhere stating, "for sale, one eight year old male child with attitude". Am not being serious, but Sean is driving me mad. This morning would have happily swapped him for a few magic beans.

Gave the boys an early lunch and told them we'd be going out in half an hour, entrance stage right, Sean with serious attitude. He wasn't going, what right do I have to rule his life?, why does he have to do everything I want all the time?, etc. etc. etc. By this time he'd worked himself up into a fully blown tantrum. I took his telly out of his room, he has to learn he isn't going to get away with it and told him to get dressed as we were going out. No action from Sean, he hid beneath his bed wrapped up in the quilt. Dragged the quilt through to my room, still no progress on the dressing, so I dressed him, he loved that, not!!!!! I needed ear plugs after it.

Then I told him to put on his shoes, while me and Steve got the bikes out, Came back in, no Sean to be seen anywhere, he was hiding in my room. Finally managed to calm him down and get his shoes on and get out on the bikes, once we got out, it was good fun and think Sean enjoyed it more than I did

Just had to get that off my chest, kids can't live with them, can't live without them. Thought the tempers calmed down between the terrible twos and the teenage years, obviously not. Seanie is having more and more of them, usually if he doesn't get his own way.

Have remained strong through all the hassles and stuck to my eating plan all day, well the first 17 hours of it anyway.

Clocks went back last night and I feel I finally got a really good sleep and am up early. Asked the boys what they want to do today and their enthusiatic answer was to stay in all day and play the playstation, thank goodness I have already arranged with a friend to take them swimming, else we'd just sit here and vegitate.

Am going to have another good eating day today, hows that for determination

Morning Ladies,

No such luck for me Carol i had a bad night and was going to get up at 3.45am but decided to just snuggle under the duvet instead

Another sunny morning here and i've been meaning to gather all the garden hoses up and put them in storage for winter so i'll do that then i've got to throw away a lot of dead plants..wash the plant pots and put them away too..i keep meaning to venture into the greenhouse and see what that jungle looks like there will be rotting tomatoes and everything because it was all left while we were in England. One year i will get a bumper crop of veggies instead of just throwing them out

Have'nt exercised for 2 days i went to the Mall yesterday it was just too nice to sit indoors I've really GOT TO DO SOME TODAY.

Oh, but he's so cute, Carol! I laughed reading all his antics -- sorry, as I suppose it wasn't funny at the time. That Shaun does have spunk! Good job on the eating -- I didn't have that great of a weekend food-wise but I now have all week to be good.

Cathy, Chocolate Factory??! Now that could turn into a dream job -- hopefully, you'll get sick of seeing and smelling all things chocolate so it won't be tempting anymore? That's what happened to my mom when she worked in a bakery. I would say that's meeting the enemy head on! I bet you'd be great in sales -- we both know and love chocolate.

Now that you mention it, I do remember when you had that leak in the wall (I think) -- didn't he take a sledge hammer first??

BTW, there's more to the story about our employee and it wasn't out of the goodness of my heart (more obligatory) that I brought her flowers. She is fast becoming the poster employee for the Twilight Zone. By day's end I was going to kill her -- she has some serious problems I think. I hadn't seen her all summer and she has changed drastically -- she used to be so different.

Never a dull moment!

Rochester had to "go" at midnight and then I couldn't fall back to sleep. Up all night -- did 3 loads of laundry, cleaned out my desk, did the dishwasher, watered the plants, ironed our clothes for today, collected all the trash from around the house, folded and put away two loads of clothes (OK, ate a piece of pie too). Finally went back to bed around 5am. Now I need to get in the treadmill (because of the pie!!!) and get off to work. No time to vacumn and it needs it terribly -- tonight! Dang dog, why don't they ever wake up the males in the house?????

OK, I'm outta here -- have a great one, everyone. Cathy, I'll keep all appendages crossed for that job -- I just know you'd be great!
