Hello ladies,
I am back.
We had a fabulous time... saw lots of sites and did lots of fun things.... and spent lots of time with my grandson, who is 3. It's such a fun age. But tiring, that boy has more energy than the Energizer bunny. He wore us both out every day. But it was great. Now they are having another baby next summer, so that means we'll be going back out to California again next year. Next time, I think we'll fly out. Our blessings are coming in two's again..
I think I did ok with my eating, they love spicy food and my tummy don't.. so had a bit of trouble with it..reflux--not fun.
I don't know if I lost or gained or maintained
as my scale is not back yet, it is getting a longer vacation than I got.
I think I saw enough deserts and mountains to last me for awhile. They are both breathtaking in their own way. Went to the Arches National Park in Utah, and drove through many canyons. Went to the coppermine in Salt Lake City, is really neat. Drove up so many mountain sides, the views are just fantastic.
and a little scary...Went to the north rim of the Grand Canyon, it was beautiful but liked the south rim better. Toured the Hole in the Wall, a couple actually dug out a home in the side of a mountain. It was pretty neat. They are buried right there too, they dug out a little grotto for their gravesite. He died and she lived there alone, running a gift shop for 17 yrs. till she died.. was pretty interesting.
Went to where my son works in Carlsbad, Calif. He works for an airport, maintaining planes for corporations and private people.. one of the planes in his hangar at the time was a luxurious jet owned by Jenny Craig. We went inside and it was classy, she does ok thanks to alot of fat people..
Went to Universal studios, it was fun but was so hot. It was 86-90 there every day. It was neat to see how they do things for movies but I think I would rather just watch the movie and pretend it's all real.... also went to a candy shop where you can watch them make the candy, never realized what is involved in some of those little treats that we eat so easily...
the batches are so heavy that men have to handle them. After they get trimmed down to smaller sizes then women do the rest. They do some pretty intricate painting with frosting.
Jelyn if you are thinking about getting a new Dell, I can vouch for them... ordered son one to take back to college this past August. I ordered it on line on a Monday and we had it on Wednesday.
And he had it customized too. Plus we got free shipping and a rebate of $150. So only cost us $499... that included everything,
monitor, speakers, mouse etc. And he is very happy with it.
Have any of you gals ever tried Curves? I am going to go look into it tomorrow. I think I may get more exercise in regularly if I do it more structured.
Ok, well I am still getting settled back in.. we got home Friday afternoon. Yesterday I spent the whole day in the office going through a stack of mail and getting things up to date..
Also, my oldest son painted my bedroom while I was gone. It turned out beautiful, I am so pleased with it. He gave it a faux finish. He also did a few small repairs around the house that he noticed. I asked him how he got so handy with tools lately, was he watching Bob Villa on the sly? Hubby can't stand Bob Villa, much the same way I feel about Martha Stewart....anyway, I am having fun re-decorating my bedroom too..
My son and my two local grandbabies just left.. and I have a headache. Think I'll go sit down for a spell and have some tea.
Hope you are all having a good weekend.
