Tomorrow is Administrative Day. So bringing in a fresh fruit salad for work luncheon to show appreciation to our admin support personnel. That will be something healthy I can eat as well as others. I think folks will like it.

Well now I hear the sunshine and more of a heatwave are heading our way starting tomorrow and through the weekend. I think it will be a big surprising change for many.

Glad to hear the SUV worked out well. Hope you have a wonderful Wednesday!

Cloudy, but warm here. I've been picking asparagus and today I'll plant lettuce and radishes in a raised bed.

The next couple of days are busy with the wedding and horse show. Are you doing anything with Jack lately?

Have a great Thursday!

Jack and I started up in April doing the agility again. All is going good. I was informed we need to wait until the Fall before we can compete. If we do or don't is not big deal. I really enjoy using the agility equipment with him. Just doing my time until I am allowed to use the equipment on my own without their supervision. Club rules.

This evening I was bending over and looking at my sage plant to see if any of it could be revived. Then I glanced to the side of it and saw opening jaws.......YES the jaws of a big snake right in front of my face about 12 inches away! All I could think of in that instant was "too late, he has me!!" as I screamed and jumped backwards just knowing any second my face will feel his mouth. Didn't happen. There he was still by my plant and about 4-5 feet long. I ran to the front yard to get my husband. He came to examine it with me, and as we tried to direct the snake to a container, he slithered up a tree and laid across a high limb, where a Robin squawked constantly at him. Later I identified it on the internet as a Black Rat snake which are harmless, but are constrictors that kill small animals and birds. It has been a few hours now, and I still have knots in my stomach. Normally I don't so worked up about a snake, but this situation was a bit different. A good laugh now, especially since I didn't get bit.

I hope the rehearsal runs good Friday.

You had an exciting day with the snake! I don't mind them as long as I see them first. We mostly have garter snakes. Glad he didn't bite you!

Well, today is busy. My sister is coming around 10 AM with the cupcakes (she's doing a cupcake tower instead of a cake) and then we have rehearsal at 4:30. in between I need to trim Steel and check the tire pressure on my horse trailer.

My barn swallows returned yesterday...still waiting on purple martins.

Have an awesome Friday!

but remember to smile, laugh, and enjoy it all too.

No change for me again Hope you do better than me!

The rehearsal was fun. No problems. After the reception, I need to give Steel a bath for the show tomorrow. I don't think I've ever been able to bathe him in April. It's always been too cold.

Have a great Saturday!

No change for me either. That's not good.
I need to get more motivated on this. I have stagnated where I am.
I need to make progress. Tomorrow I will have to seriously consider developing a new strategy.

I bought some plants today for the front of my house that were on sale. I planted them right away too because they were wilting. It was 89 degrees here today. Very humid. I was drenched for a good part of the day. It felt just like summer.

Saw a turtle near the sidewalk this morning. It was the first Turtle for Jack to see. Jack was very interested. I took the turtle down by the woods near a pond, which is better than wondering around near the road.

Do you put a coat/blanket on Steel so he doesn't roll after you wash him?

Have fun at the wedding!

Staying Motivated to Lose Weight:
7 Weight Loss Motivation Tips

Your attitude is the difference between diet success and failure. Exercise and proper diet may be required to get that slim waist you’ve always wanted, but your attitude about getting there plays a big role too.
Follow these 7 weight loss motivation tips to help keep you motivated on your journey.

1) Write Down Your Reasons for Wanting to Lose Weight

What goals are helping you stay motivated to lose weight? Why do you REALLY want to lose weight? What are your motivations for wanting to improve yourself? Is it because you want to reduce your risk of health problems later in life? Do you want to be able to play with your kids without getting tired? Write down why you want to lose weight and revisit these goals and motivations every week.

2) Set Goals Beyond the Scale

Staying motivated on a diet involves you setting other goals that go beyond, “I want to lose 10 pounds.”
Set goals to work out 3 times a week, or to eat more fruits and vegetables. Our health goals don’t all need to be based on what we see on the scale. It’s easy to get distracted by the number of pounds you’ve lost, but there are so many other benefits to being healthy that we don’t see on the scale.

3) Use Your Smartphone

There are so many diet plans and programs available right at your fingertips to help keep you motivated. Use any of them to stay motivated to lose weight.

4) Surround Yourself With Health

Keep your refrigerator stocked with healthy foods. Keep them all around you. Keep a bowl of fruit on your counter. Don’t let your clothes pile up on your workout equipment. Keep your running shoes right at the door.

5) Don’t Be a Perfectionist

Nobody is perfect. Sometimes we eat more than we wanted. We might eat a slice of pie at dinner or a bowl of ice cream. It’s ok. Whatever we choose to indulge in, don’t be too hard on yourself.
This can ruin your motivation. Think about what it was that caused you to lose focus, next time you can fix it.
Our diets are all about learning and becoming healthier in the long run.

6) Be Patient

Everyone is nervous about that dreaded “weight loss plateau.” There may be some days when the pounds don’t come off as fast as you want it can be hurt your motivations to keep going. Be patient. Things are definitely happening in your body that might not show up on a scale. If you do hit a plateau, change things up. Trick your metabolism into getting back into action.

7) Recommit Yourself Every New Week

Each new week, renew your commitment to yourself and your new incredible body. Do this, and you’ll control your eating week by week, with a strategy that’ll guarantee success.

The wedding was perfect, then I came home and gave Steel a bath. He does wear a blanket at night so he stays clean.

I need to really start getting back on track with my food choices and portion size.

I love turtles! We have snappers, box and wood turtles down by the pond.

A bit too early to plant any flowers around here.......

Have a great Sunday!

Went walking with a neighbor tonight and we found a baby water turtle. So we carried that one to a nearby pond. Two turtles in two days. Wow.

Glad the wedding went well. Hope Steel and you did good at the show.

Hope you have a Happy May Day- Monday!

Had a great time at the show. We did well against the big horses. There is a picture on my Facebook timeline.

I need to finish walking the fields and picking up branches, but it's really wet out this morning. Maybe I'll do some house cleaning and wait till it dries off a bit.

Glad you rescued the turtle

Happy Monday!

I looked at your Facebook page, but I only see your last posting from 13 April with the Easter baskets. I liked the possum video, and I loved the picture of the little girl and the horse.

Suppose to be stormy and windy tonight. I guess you will have more branches to pick up too. There was a mention of hail so we put our SUV in the garage.

Best wishes for your Tuesday!

You might need to "friend" me on Facebook to see the picture....

Raining here this morning. Yes, it's supposed to be windy so I will probably have more branches to pick-up.

Still waiting on purple martins....

Have an awesome Tuesday!

What do you think we should do to motivate ourselves to losing the next 10 lbs?
Any ideas?
