Feeling a bit better today. Looks like we're in for some snow. They're saying 8-12 inches of heavy wet snow. We'll need to get ready in case we lose power. We can run the whole farm with our big generator, so no problem there. And I have bread and milk

Have a great day!

Glad you are feeling better. You are definitely prepared for the bad weather. You've got the essentials. That's good. I hope it doesn't get too bad there for you. We might get a little bit of snow, but only a dusting. Most of the heavy stuff is heading in your direction. Be careful and stay warm. Today it was 77 degrees here...just like summertime. I will have to be prepared for the cold flash tomorrow.

Easy Portion Control.
These common household items are a genius way to keep track of how much you are eating.
Tip 1 of 5 Resealable Snack Bags.
Measure out serving sizes of pretzels, almonds, or chips and keep them in resealable plastic baggies for easy on-the-go snacking.

Blizzard conditions here.....even Sam stayed home from work. Roads are a mess with lots of accidents. It was like a Spring day here yesterday!

Guess the groundhog was right!

Our weather turned colder but we had mostly rain. No snow.
You must have got a dumping of snow there today. Stay warm and safe.

This is the second day in a row they had donuts at work.
My willpower has helped me to resist them. Yeah!!

Easy Portion Control.
Tip 2 of 5 Foil Muffin Pans.
Scoop 1/2 cup of cooked rice, couscous, or quinoa into foil muffin cups.
Cover tightly with foil and freeze
Pop out portions every time you need a quick side.

We got about 10 inches of snow, but the worst part was the blowing wind. It was howling with gusts up to 50 mph. It caused a lot of drifting and there were many accidents and road closures. Cold out this morning....15. Most schools are on a delayed opening.

I don't know if I would have the will power you had, especially with donuts involved. Good for you!

Have a wonderful day!

Wow, you got a bunch of snow!! And the cold cold wind too. I hope you are staying warm. I was cold today at work. I wore my gloves inside. However, there were other people cold too. Winter is letting us know it is still around.

Good luck for weigh-in tomorrow. Enjoy your Saturday!

Tip 3 of 5 Cupcake liners.
Fill up cupcake liners with olives, nuts, or other good fats to keep you satisfied between meals without over doing it.

Congratulations Renee!! Slow and steady wins the race.
Keep going, you are doing great!!

My weigh-in today shows....down 2 lbs. YIPPEE!

Your are probably getting a good workout just from walking and shoveling all that snow. I think you have more headed your way tomorrow. I don't know what I am going to do tomorrow after church. Depends on the weather. We did buy a used SUV this week. Now my husband can do some major work on our other car replacing the transfer case. Glad he likes that kind of stuff and can figure it out.

Wishing you a sunny Sunday!

Tip 4 of 5 Ice Cream Scoop
Think outside dessert when it comes to this kitchen tool.
An ice cream scoop neatly spoons servings of rice,
mashed potatoes, or cooked pasta.

Freezing rain here. They will probably cancel church service.

Glad you got another vehicle.....

Not sure what I'm doing today. Probably curl up on the couch with a cup of tea and a magazine

Have a blessed Sunday!

Thanks. We are both doing good. I hope we can keep the trend going.
I appreciate your support and sharing.

Just a rainy day here, and slightly warmer. Hope you made it to church.
I went to church and then Subway for lunch.
In the afternoon, we went shopping for a couch.
We thought we found one until we saw who manufactured it, so still looking.
Then just some other small errands, and just like that, Sunday is almost over.
Weekends are just too short.

Do you have your garden planned for next year?
I want to plant some flowers around one side of my house,
but it is very dry there and has sunshine most of the day.
So perhaps some sunflowers.

Have a wonderful Monday!

Tip 5 of 5 Shot Glass
Mayo and salad dressings are a delicious way
to make everything more tasty,
but it's easy to use too much.
Keep your salads and veggie plates good for you
by measuring out dips and dressing into 2 oz shot glasses.
[or by a similar substitute]

Funny you should mention my garden....I ordered my seeds yesterday. It was sleeting and I thought it would be a good time to think "Spring" We got sleet and freezing rain and it's a mess out there. Very windy today with lots of trees and branches down.

Church was cancelled because of the weather.

Have an awesome Monday!

1 Girl Scout cookie-Samoa

Yes it is that time of year again. I have been good about avoiding the Girl Scout cookies and not buying any.
However, when I went to work today, there were two boxes sitting in front of my desk.
I did well until one of my co-workers came by and kept waving them in front of me.
So I decided to have one and only one. Yes there were cookies there for the rest of the day,
but I was able to fight the urge to eat any more. One was all I needed.

Tip of the Day from Self magazine, August 2013
Chews wisely
Women who claim they're full after a nibble of dessert aren't total liars.
A study reveals that if you indulge a little and put the rest away,
the craving will pass after 15 minutes.
It's that out-of-sight, out -of-mind thing.
So define 'a little.'
Researchers say it's about a quarter of a chocolate bar;
let that portion be your guide.

It was nice.

Slick Move
The German Research Center for Food Chemistry ID'd
yet another perk of olive oil: It can make you feel full.
Olive oil ups levels of the satiety hormone serotonin so you're less ravenous.
