Very windy here yesterday. We didn't get any rain. Going to cut more hay today. We're supposed to have a frost tonight and that will be the total end of the garden. I still need to weed wack. Hopefully I'll get it done today. How did you make out with the new car? What kind of furniture are you looking at?

Corinna T 10-10-2016 07:39 PM

Exercise
30 minute walk with dog
Another 30 minute walk with dog

Meals
Veggie pizza
potato and onion pierogies, mock fish bites

Today we headed off to buy a truck, but on the way my husband said he just couldn't do it. He couldn't justify buying a new one. He would rather have an older one that doesn't cost too much just to pick up and ride around town in. We then looked at some other used cars and then headed home. So who knows what we will get and when. When he is ready, he will get one.

As far as furniture, I thought I had finally found one, but after remeasuring the living room and the amount of space that is needed, I decided against the sectional. So now we will look for just a couch and a loveseat/chair. So it seems we are back to square one on both initiatives now. ugh.

Today turned out to be a nice sunny day, but rather cool. I brought a few plants indoors because I think it will get really cold tonight. I was playing with Jack this evening, and I could see his breath.

Did you get all your weed wacking done?

Renee3 10-11-2016 07:07 AM

Exercise
1 1/2 hrs. morning barn chores
weed wacked
1/2 hr. evening barn chores

Meals

Brrr...looks like we had a light frost this morning. Got all my weed wacking done yesterday. Sam cut our last field of hay. I'm going to miss the nice warm days....

Exercise
8 flights of stairs
20 pushups
30 minute walk with dog

Meals
Berry Drink
Tomato, Onion, Cheese, Lettuce Sandwich
Slice Bread and Swiss cheese

Yes, I will miss the warmer days too. We don't like to use the heat in the house until we really have to use it. Now we only have a few windows left open at night. I am already piling up the blankets on the bed. I think it got down the mid-30's here last night. Some of my flowers are already drooping. They were pretty while they lasted.

Are your horses starting to grow their winter coats yet or is it still too soon?

Renee3 10-12-2016 06:50 AM

Exercise
1 1/2 hrs. morning barn chores
1 hr. yard work
1/2 hr. evening barn chores

Meals
oatmeal
chicken salad sandwich
banana
leftover pork and sauerkraut, peas and carrots

Good morning! The horses look like yaks. They started growing their winter coats as soon as the days started to get shorter. Yesterdays weather was about perfect. I took Steel out for a drive and the fields and woods were lovely. Doesn't get much better than that. I am so blessed!

Are you eating enough? I think I would starve if I only ate what you do. I guess I don't have as much will power as you. :hun:

Meals
Scrambled eggs and biscuit
Lettuce, cheese, tomato sandwich
Mock fish nuggets and pierogies

Renee-if I was as busy as you are all the time and doing manual labor, I would have to eat more too. Now I have a city slicker life where I have to find things to do to keep in shape. Living on a farm like you do, there are always things to do, shoveling, hoeing, wacking, mowing, picking, throwing, moving, hauling, canning, cooking, etc.

I can just imagine how your horses look...adorable. Give them all hugs and kisses!!! You are very lucky.

Exercise
1 1/2 hrs. morning barn chores
1/2 hr. evening barn chores

Meals
oatmeal
banana
california hamburger
rigatoni and mixed vegetables

Don't know if we'll get the hay made today. The weather doesn't look too promising. Grocery shopping today. No junk food on my list this week.

Does Jack get a thicker coat for the winter? When I had dogs, they always seems to get heavier coats in the fall. I noticed even the barn cats get more fluffy.

Have a great Thursday!

Corinna T 10-13-2016 08:30 PM

Exercise
8 flights of stairs
1 hour walk

Meals
sesame bagel
veggie sub
bean and cheese burrito

The weather was nice today and should be all week here. Hopefully for you too so you can get your hay in.

I went grocery shopping too today. Bought a bunch of veggies to make a big batch of soup. My coworker has been sick. My husband has been sick. So far I am okay, but being careful. Good job avoiding the junk food at the store!!

Jack's coat only gets a little thicker because he is an indoor dog. He has a bed on the screened porch, one in the living room, and one in the bedroom. Very spoiled. Growing up on the farm, our dogs and cats always got thick fur coats. I always liked to snuggle up to them to keep warmer when sitting outside.

Hope you have a great Thursday!

moved some hay around

Meals
oatmeal
banana
ham and cheese sandwich, chicken soup

We had a couple of heavy rain showers, so we probably lost the hay. No problem, it will just add fertilizer to the field. It's really hard to get hay made this time of the year.
Looks like we're going to have a beautiful weekend.

Enjoy your day!

Sorry you lost your last cutting of hay. Glad to know you can use it in another way.

Well it looks like it will be a nice weekend, so I should be able to get some walking in around the area. I look forward to that. May visit a few farmers stands to see if I can find some ornamental kale.

Tomorrow is weigh-in day. I hope we both do good tomorrow. Good luck!

Exercise
1 1/2 hrs. morning barn chores
2 hrs. working outside
1/2 hr. evening barn chores

Chilly this morning at 32 degrees. I'm glad I covered my potted plants, Yesterday I picked up branches that had fallen on my driving trails, then took down the tomato trellis, put the water hoses away and tidied up the garden for the winter. All I have left now is kale.

Down 1 lb. Wasn't really expecting it, but I'll take it.

Going to warm up to near 70 today. Enjoy the weekend!

Congratulations Renee on going down one pound! That is terrific. I stayed the same this week. I though I would go down at least one pound, but nothing. Perhaps next week will be better.

Set up Jacks jumps, weave poles, and tunnel today. He loves working through them. It was a beautiful day. I trimmed up a few trees in the yard during his running breaks.

Looking for a few ideas to bring in something to work around Halloween for our office party. Looking for something healthy since most people are on a diet. Attached are a few ideas. What do you think?
