Morning all.* Another gloomy day.* I miss you sun!*

Susie – Glad you’re enjoying the training and that your commute isn’t too bad.* Ugh re all the extra hours you’re putting in to keep up with e-mail and work.* Very good to hear that your DH went back into rhythm, hope it stays that way!!!** Big congrats on the lost inches!!!

Shad – I submitted my chosen vacation days yesterday and they were approved, so yay for that.* I still have a few more days to schedule though…but not like the SIX WEEKS your son has.* Wow!* I hope he gets it worked out.* HR’s good at getting snippy about vacation not being used.* Re insurance – are you saying that a large percentage of people purchase private medical insurance in spite of being covered under public health care?* What types of issues exist that make this happen?*

Michelle – Did you get the Wii power cord yet?* If so, I’m sure you’ll find your old one soon enough, lol.* Isn’t that always the way it goes? *I know you said you were tired yesterday – did you make it to the gym and then to the support group?* Sometimes you just have to be on “automatic pilot” to get through.* I hope the massage works out all the knots in your muscles and brings you some relaxation.* I have to get on the phone and make an appointment for mine.*

Terra – Maybe once a year my bf & I will buy some crab legs and steam them at home.* Yum, they are so good.* I’m just not a huge fan of having to work hard to get at my food, especially at a restaurant, but I don’t mind doing it at home.* I’m glad your foot is feeling better.*

+++

I finally got to ride my bike home last night!* I had my old helmet looped through the cable, but not covered, so I had to soak the water out of the sponge pads inside the helmet, LOL, but otherwise everything was fine.* I need to buy a new set of pads for the inside of my helmet – I put that on the shopping list.*

I had a hair appointment last night (just a touch-up), and after that I picked up some won ton soup and shrimp egg foo yung for dinner for bf & I.* We go to this restaurant a few times a year and usually like it, but yesterday I found the soup’s broth way too salty and the egg foo yung too bland.* Huh.* And Michelle – between your talk of having turkey broth and the egg foo yung, I was thinking way back to when I was a kid and my mom was trying to lose weight.* She’d eat broth with bean sprouts added to it.* Now I sort of want to try that sometime.

Hellos to Annie, Happy & Ceejay!

That’s about it for me.* I’m feeling kind of blah lately…I think it must be the weather.* And not enough time outdoors.* The problem is that I do better with my weekday eating if I bring my food from home and eat at my desk, but I miss getting outdoors at lunch.* I need to make a point of getting out after lunch, even if it’s just for a walk around the block.*

Everyone have a great day!

Hi all,

Seems the site is a little funky with the font displays today...

I got a call Monday evening from the hospital. They ran 2 biopsies and the second one came back positive for shingles. At this point I don't know what to believe yes you have it, no you don't. You tested positive for this but it doesn't match what I see online. I did call my doctor's office and fortunately the receptionist took this seriously so I have an appointment to see the doctor tomorrow morning. I'm very disappointed in the way this was handled. I just hope it's nothing very serious. My eye is beginning to be troublesome, I feel like there's something in it - crusty, goopy stuff - sorry if TMI. It's like sometimes when you wake up in the morning and you have "sleepy sand" in it. Yesterday I was watching TV and it kept tearing up - not even a sad show I went to the shop on Tuesday and did my shift. Got a call yesterday - the coordinator was blowing off steam about one of the Tuesday afternoon workers. Then I went to yoga and that person's sister was bending my ear about the way the coordinator hollered at the sister. I stopped at the shop later in the afternoon to drop off supplies and again got my ear bent from another volunteer about the altercation. Yikes!!!!

The ditch diggers showed up yesterday to finish the trench DH started to dig which was a relief. They still have to put a culvert (large drain pipe) at the end of the driveway to catch the pooling runoff but they will be back later for that as they have to order the drain pipe. With that done and the sump pump in place, things are rolling along prepping for the winter and spring rains. If this ensures less than our record snows of last winter - bravo! I am going to a dementia seminar tonight at the local church. I hope it will be interesting. I hope I remember to go Looks like this will be the last lovely day for the autumn so I should probably get out there this afternoon, rake pine needles and cover my garden beds for the winter. DH still is working on sealing the basement floor so I can't put the rooms back together - might as well work outside.

Susie - LONG days at your training and then to have to come home and deal with emails. You must be exhausted Make sure you get enough rest. I'm glad to hear that DH's afib rebooted itself - would be nice if the scar tissue did it's thing and blocked the wonky signals so he stayed in rhythm. I hope I never have to deal with that - it sounds like it's both scary and frustrating. Congratulations in spite of all the chaos on losing inches!!!!! It's a very positive motivator to stick with the program even if you can't be perfect at it. You should be proud. Bravo!!!

Terra - did I miss your birthday too or are you just having a long celebration? Snow crab legs, yum. Hope you enjoyed your meal.

Shad - although it is a lot of research right now, one of the "benefits" of us having individualized health care now instead of one family plan is that we can adjust it to different needs between DH and I. I see the doctor more often for minor stuff - family doc, podiatrist, eye doctor and only take one medication. He's on multiple medications and sees fewer doctors but when he does, the cardiologist tends to cost more. Hopefully he is stabilizing but he is talking lately about a lot of back pain - I hope he is not considering a 4th back surgery... From what I have heard of others, the socialized health care is great if you are reasonably healthy but falls short if you have some catastrophic disease such as cancer. May we all stay reasonably healthy What's this I saw on the news that Sydney had snow??? Being as you are more north, I take it you were not affected by this?

Ceejay - in my opinion "straight line winds" are just another term for unofficial tornado. Those same straight line winds bent over and toppled 90 foot pine trees in our area last month during that storm. If it will rip a roof off, it's more than winds in my opinion!

Michelle - I hope the masseuse gets all your macramé knots out of your legs what a colorful way to put things! The more I hear about your surgery, the more I admire you. I honestly don't think I'd have the wearwithall to put up with the lifestyle changes that occur with this. I'm sure as soon as I would not be allowed to drink while eating, that's the exact moment I'd think something was dry and stuck in my throat Eyes on the prize and don't let anything get in your way, right?

Laura - I think flip flop people are crazy too. I know more than one person who has slid on their flop and caused themselves extensive and serious injury - up to an including surgery. They usually "drop the flop" after that. Then there are those ladies who insist on the 5 inch fashion heels which also does a total number on the foot. Oh well they will find out later the damage that they have done. In the meantime, we are comfy in our Brooks shoes, right? To your question, yes - the seminars are put on by insurance companies as this is Medicare enrollment time and you need to buy your supplemental insurance from an independent carrier of your choice. So everyone is hawking for your business. It's probably a good time to be shopping around because the information is easy to get as they are now appealing to the 65+ consumers (you can change your plan each year just as you can do in the private health sector). Bad news is, that you have to "re-up / reenroll" each calendar year. Thanks for including the tree pictures. I do miss the gold forests of maple that just glow. Hope you can schedule out all of your vacation time, if you don't have anything specific to take a whole block of time, long weekends would be nice too. And save a day or two for an optional snow day

Hi Annie

I'd better go get busy while the day is long. Have a good one.

Good morning ladies,

I tried to get up extra early today so I could go to the gym before work, but I just couldn't do it. So today will be a "mostly off" day for exercising. I'm not going to have time to get to the gym after work but before my massage, and after my massage I think I'll be kind to my muscles and maybe just to a bit of Wii (since the power cord arrived yesterday). I'm not planning on the massage to be relaxing...I want her to do whatever it takes to work out the knots in my muscles.

As I was walking with my friend the other day, I mentioned that I wouldn't be able to have sweets or fatty foods for a long time if ever, and no carbonation (soda, beer), my friend was shocked that I would willingly give up those things. Yep, if I'm going to be successful at losing weight, I need to give up what I want in this moment for what I want long term.

===========================

Shad - Yep, I'm definitely geared up for this life change. How is your garden doing? Is it getting hot there now?

Susie - So glad to hear that your DH is back in rhythm. I hope he stays in rhythm. Dang, girl, those are some long hours you're putting in! Do you get comp time for all the extra hours you put in at home? Congrats on the inches lost!

Laura - Glad you got to ride your bike home. That would make me nervous leaving it at the station so many days. The Wii power cord did arrive last night, so I'll set it up tonight. I did make it to the gym and the support group meeting yesterday. Sorry to hear you're feeling blah. That's a good idea to get out for a walk. Any fun plans for the weekend?

Happy - That sucks that the 2 biopsies had different results, and that your doctor's office can't get you in until tomorrow! I hope it's not shingles and that it's just some kind of infection that will clear up after a few days of ointment. I guess living in a small town, and you being such a nice person, everyone feels like they can vent to you. So much drama and "politics'. I hope the dementia workshop is interesting. Be sure and take good notes so you can remember it. Thanks for all your kind wishes about my macrame knots. The lifestyle changes required by my surgery will be challenging, but from what everyone says, it's all worth it. As for the dry food needing to be washed down, that's where fat free gravy or sauces come in. From what I've read, eating bread that is not toasted can wad up and get "stuck" and block things, requiring another surgery (sorry if that's TMI). Meats should be moist or eaten with a low cal sauce.

Ceejay - Straight line winds can be just as forceful and damaging as a tornado. The only difference is that rather than spinning as they do in a tornado, the winds are moving in a straight line.

to Annie and Terra!

Love and hugs,

I'm on work day 5/10. And doing pretty well. This morning I wanted to sleep but woke up at 5.45 in time to get ready for work.
The roof was finished yesterday so today I'm trying to get things back in order in the lab area after I cleaned it. Also cleaned #3 filter area.

---------
Happy
I've been thinking about getting the shingles shot. I sure hope you don't have it. I'd like to attend some of these work shops you are. They don't have them in our area. So take notes for me.

Laura
Those were the same color of trees as mom had in her yard. I love maple. Birch is a second. I'm with Michelle in that I would be afraid to leave the bike at the train station. I'm sure you have it secured.

Susie
Glad that DH is doing better.

Cutting this short as my lunch break is over.

who is BrisTon? Please introduce yourself.

I encountered another problem at work this morning. I'm having to operate the plant off the psi gauge and I don't like this. I like to know how many feet of water I have. Came in and two pumps were running which is unusual this time of the year. This tells me that my co-worker wasn't paying attention to the gauge. Oh well, something different to do. He will have to pay attention tonight. We are operating in the hand mode. Rode the bike for 15 minutes last night to equal 3 miles. These miles are accumulating. Need to go back to see when I started this.

Laura
I'm wearing my pedometer and this one is more accurate than the other one. So far I have 4367 steps.

Michelle
No water with meals?! I'm so glad that you have been doing your home work about this surgery. You have taught me a lot.

Shad
Did you get the cleaning done?

Terra
Are you still getting your walks in per day?

Morning all,

Hope the site performs better today than yesterday.

Let me think! Personals! yeah oh now I know where I am at. Let me try to explain the National Health system or Medicare. It's not exactly free since we pay for it through our taxes. One percent of our earnings up to $50K, then 2% and 2.5% at over $100K. We have public hospitals and private hospitals. If I get hit by a bus and need an ambulance to take me to hospital, I get carted off to the nearest hospital regardless. Then the details are sorted out and I get taken to the private hospital or the nearest public. If I discover a lump, my doctor will ask about private insurance. If I don't have any I go off to the public hospital and they will deal with it. If I have it, I have a choice as to which hospital I wish to go to. There are some very good public hospitals particularly as far as oncology (cancer) is concerned. The biggest problem is the waiting lists in the public hospital. Since so many (stupid) people manage to bang themselves up in motor accidents, drug overdoses and other critical self inflicted injuries, those who have whats known as 'elective' surgery (ie. not life threatening at this point) have to wait for longer and longer. It becomes urgent, then someone elses surgery gets put back. The government has decided that they should opt out of this (and no doubt keep the money from taxes) and therefore we are 'encouraged' to get private insurance, not only because if we earn the higher amounts we get a discount on the taxes paid to Medicare. We also get free visits to the GP at his/ her surgery although not specialist doctors. Again people rort this system because it is 'free'. They block up the casualty and emergency rooms at the hospitals for stuff that they should be taking to the GP because the government is threatening to charge $7 per adult visit. They are also there because prescriptions are free at the hospital but not at the GP.
Personally, I think that the public health system does me very well. I fail to see why because I am 65 that I am considered a health risk and a drain on the public purse. I already pay more than most to keep the system going and I only use it a couple of times a year. If everyone was like me, there would be plenty of money in the public system.

Now someone mentioned dingos and bobcats in machinery. Different things. The bobcat is bigger and has a seat and a safety cage with the bucket on the front. The dingo can be sat in or ridden standing up, but generally is smaller and has a smaller bucket (and maybe a digger on the back) and does a great job in tight spaces. I don't have a big job, so the dingo (sometimes known as a ditch witch) will do fine for me. Besides which I might be able to drive it myself which will save some money. And could be fun.

Happy - our weather is pretty wild and woolly and all over the place. Sydney got rain and floods and the Blue Mountains - which at this time last year were having forest fires and burnt houses - got snow. We are getting so little rain that it is becoming very dry around the area.

Michelle - my garden is doing well. There are plenty of tomato coming along, the corn cob is starting to form, the lettuces will go to seed if I don't get at them soon. I've eaten enough spinach to start resembling Pop-Eye. Beans and peas are plentiful and I pulled one beetroot up the other night. It is getting warm but the humidity isn't here yet so it is still pleasant.

Ceejay - I have a list of things to do each day. Today is sweeping day. If you keep at it regularly it only takes about 15 minutes each day. I've got the washing down to a couple of loads a week so I'm doing okay with the housework.

Laura - normally we only get 4 weeks leave a year. DS2 has not taken all of his leave from the year before. Fortunately his company do not confiscate the days as some places do and some will buy you out of the accrued leave if it gets too much.
Sorry to hear that you are feeling 'blah' Hopefully it will disappear soon. Probably got something to do with the demise of summer and winters onset particularly as it doesn't seem you had a great summer either.

Susie - good news on the DH going back into rhythm. Hope it stays like that for a long, long time. It will give him a bit of a lift.
You do work long hours. It must be somewhat stressful for you. Hope they appreciate you in that company.

Annie - Where you at girlfriend???

BrisTon - hello. Glad to hear that some of the ladies here have given you inspiration.

Better go sort out the sweeping and then finish those taxes. They need to be done today. I want them out of the way.

Michelle ~ Yeah I had a nice birthday dinner, It was nice of Scott to do my laundry so I could go to school.

Shad ~ Yes your right my birthday is next mon. but I had my birthday dinner Tuesday night.

Laura ~ Thats cool that you and your boyfriend once a year buys snow crab legs and steam them at home, I dont mind the time it takes to enjoy the crab by cracking the shells open but I know some people think its not worth the time it takes for so little food.

Happy ~ Nope you didnt miss my birthday, Its not until Monday, The 20th but we celebrated my birthday on Tuesday the 14th, Yeah my birthday dinner was good, I love snow crab legs with a little butter and lemon.

CJ ~ Yes I have been getting my walks in everyday

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I woke up at 6 am this morning but I didnt have to start waiting for my bus until 9:25 am, I chose to go to school later then usual which made my cooking class teacher nervous cause I'm usually there by 8 am. So I guess I will stick with getting there at 8 am so my cooking class teacher doesnt have to worry if I'm gonna be there or not. I came home after cooking class though cause I started to get a migraine and when I get one of those I usually end up getting sick so I wasnt able to have peer support class today. My migraine went away finally at 4 pm when I took a migraine pill after I woke up from my nap, I took a nap when I got up at 1 pm and then I woke up at 3 pm and took my migraine pill but it didnt go away until 4 pm. I didnt end up getting sick so I could of stayed at school but I just never know if I will or not so its best to go ahead and go home just in case. Tomorrow I have an appointment to go too and then Saturday Scott and I are going to his nephew and his nephew's wife's house to meet his new great nephew. I have my monthly doctor's appointment on Tuesday so I hope to see a good loss, Crossing my fingers. Have a good night all. Take Care.
I've only had one migraine and I do not want another one. People do notice when we get into a routine, don't they? What did you prepare in class today? Hope your Doctor's appt goes well and you have a good weight loss.
Shad
Don't really like making list but I found out it if I do have a routine it works even with the cleaning. I've been trying to clean one room per day and yes if I keep up with it, it only takes a few minutes. More with the kitchen if I'm cooking.
More later.
Oh and I'm working 11 days instead of 10. My co-worker brought that to my attention last night. Oh well, more money. It's 6/11 I'm beginning to feel the affects.
Afternoon all.* The sun’s outtoday!* I didn’t bring my lunch to work*today, so I’ll get some rays when I go out for lunch*today.* *
Shad – Thanks for the information on public vs. private health insurance.* I’ve heard about long waits for appointments, but it’s good to know that there isn’t a discrepancy in the standard/quality of care between the two.* I’ve heard of a ditch witch, but never seen one.* The photo I looked up online still makes it look very large.* I have a feeling there’s another smaller version out there.* I’m thinking if the cable guys use some type of equipment to bury the cable they run, it can’t be a huge piece of machinery tearing up their customers’ lawns…Re the blahs – I think it was just the four straight gloomy/rainy days.* Very uplifting to have the sun shiningtoday.* Re BrisTon – I must be cynical – I’m thinking BT wanted to get enough posts in so he/she could have a ticker, LOL.* Don’t you have to have 20 posts or something??* BT, forgive me if I’m wrong.*
Terra – My bf and I actually have a couple little tools from a popular crab restaurant we ate crab at several years ago that helps you slice the shells open to get at the crabmeat more easily.* It helps.* Sorry you had a migraine and missed your class yesterday.*
Ceejay – I hope there haven’t been any more problems at work this week.* Good for you getting in your exercise time on the bike!* Let us know how many miles you’ve accumulated towards your trip to…I forget where – was it Jonesboro or Paragould or ???? * I asked my doc about the shingles shot at my last appointment and she said the insurance company might give me trouble about covering it since I’m at the lower end of the age range for getting it.* I sure would like to get the shot rather than the shingles!* Re trees – I love birch trees too.* And Aspens, which I saw in Colorado on a vacation 25+ years ago.* I also love Japanese Maples.*
Michelle – So, I take it you’re not working*today?* I hope you have something nice planned for*today.* Re my bike – I have a “train bike” and then my “good bike”.* The train bike is the one that’s old and that I hope is not something someone would want to bother stealing.* That’s the one I sometimes have to leave at the train station overnight.* If someone wanted to vandalize it in some way, I’d likely get ticked off about it, but wouldn’t be overly concerned about the cost to replace or repair the bike.*
Happy – How frustrating re the two differing biopsy results.* I hope the doctor was helpful*today.* And I hope there’s something that can be done to bring relief to your eye.* I’m glad you and DH are at the final stages of your basement anti-flooding/seepage projects.* Sorry to hear DH’s back is giving him problems.**L*So each of you would have separate Medicare policies?* (And right now, you’ll now have your own medical policy and DH will have a Medicare supplemental policy?)* Makes sense – you can tailor each better to each person.* Re the dangerous flip flops and high heels – yup, I ‘m perfectly happy with my sneakers!* It sure would be nice if my employer offered “sneakers days” during our fundraising drive in addition to “jeans days”.*
Hellos to Annie & Susie!!
~~
Yay for Friday!*
Last night bf and I ordered our new slippers from LL Bean.* They’re pricey, but having had a nice pair of wooly sheepskin slippers, I’ve been spoiled.*
I have no plans for*tonight.*Tomorrow*I will return to Jazzercise class and take it easy on the jumping.* I’m also picking up my sample pair of contact lenses in my new rx, and then meeting a friend for a late breakfast/early lunch.*
That’s about it for me.* Everyone have a great weekend!
Hi ladies,
I just dropped my car off at the shop. It had been running loud for awhile. I knew it was the muffler or another part of the exhaust system. A friend of mine told me that exhaust fumes could get in the car. I thought it would just run loud but wasn't dangerous, so it's getting fixed now.
D brought me back home and he or his brother will take me to pick it up this afternoon. In the meantime, I'm doing website work and some cleaning...plus setting up my Wii.
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. I'll try and get back here later for tomorrow.
Love and hugs,
Hi all,
Just got back from the doctor's. She discussed with her partner (who is also the county public health physician) the results of my lab tests (which were processed at the Mayo clinic). There is a discrepancy in the way they did the report which identified the earlier confusion. So because of what happened they may have identified a glitch in the system. But I am positive for shingles and am most fortunate that I appear to have a mild case although it is spreading. Instead of screaming pain, I am getting numbness and tingling like pin pricks. They are also sending me to the opthamalogist in an hour because my eye is getting numb and tingly although I have had no further breakouts of rash or "pimples" since the original 3. They are also going to put me on an antiviral medication which they said should help diminish the pain. I am also getting slight pain in my mouth in the upper teeth on the left side like I have a cavity or gum infection. And when I was taking a shower today, the shower spray on my left side (where the break out is) felt like numb needles - like when you have a shower massage on too high of a pulse and it is uncomfortable. I felt no such sensation on my right. So I hope this is not spreading and was just slow to get rolling...
As for the vaccine - Doc said that the vaccine only works about 50 percent of the time in staving off shingles but does minimize the pain when you do get an outbreak by 80 percent. So it has it's positives but is not an exact cure all so she advocates the vaccine on a most needed basis. We also talked about my inability to get in to see her last week and she told me what to do if this happens again because she COULD have seen me last Friday instead of me going to the E/R.
I went to a dementia seminar last night - it was really interesting. They talked about the differences between normal aging and what is not normal - dementia. It was sad too - they showed some clips of interviews with people - one lady had a PHd but was no longer able to count a bunch of coins. Usually I thought of dementia with someone forgetting the present and living more in the past but there's a whole lot more to it. And in many cases what seems like dementia symptoms often is caused by other factors like thyroid, hydration, medications. They gave a good analogy - as we age, we are slower at things and forget names and plot lines and such but eventually it comes back to us. With dementia, it kills off brain cells so you actually lose the ability to do certain things like look at a bunch of coins and figure out how much money that really is. It's more than just memory loss. I really like living in the community that I do because I am with people my own age and so a lot of the programs are geared to us rather than young people.
DH had to replace our cable recording unit so we lost a bunch of recorded shows and movies. No big loss, didn't want to see them anyway. Today is a big interruption (as are my "free Fridays" it seems). So I won't be able to get much done that is very productive. I am covering a shift for a friend at the Thrift Shop on Sunday. I did pass along feedback to the coordinator from several unhappy afternoon volunteers and he reconsidered his original decision and we WILL be starting our winter hours closing at 4pm starting next week. It's getting darker earlier - especially at the time change the end of the month and no one really wants to walk to the bank alone when it's dark. I never did get out to get that garden bed finished yesterday and today it's cold and rainy out there....
I picked up the prettiest brown suede jacket at the shop on Tuesday. My size for a change - Liz Claiborne for 6 dollars. How can you go wrong??? Looks perfect with jeans. It's a lightweight jacket so I won't be getting a lot more wear out of it but I'll do what I can.
Michelle - I'm glad you got your car checked out although who wants an extra bill. BUT having exhaust fumes in the car can be so dangerous so glad you got it worked on.
Laura - regarding eating crab - I was also shown once how to crack open a crab leg shell with a fork but that only works on king crab legs. Would be handy to have something for the smaller snow crab legs. Yum, now I'm hungry. We had a Japanese maple in our yard in TN and I absolutely loved it. It's delicate tho, you have to protect it from spring frosts because it only shoots new growth in the spring and if the shoots get frosted / "scalded" - that's it for the tree for the entire year until next spring when it sends more shoots again. As for insurance and the shingles vaccine - the nurse practitioner said they are reconsidering the shot since a hospital visit and treatment can be far more pricey than the shot (about $300), not to mention long term damage or effects. However it generally occurs after age 60 so you are right about being too young right now - doesn't it feel WONDERFUL to be too young for something? I had to smile about your comment regarding wearing sneakers in the office - we had a rather belligerent girl who dressed really sloppy and always wore sneakers. Anyone who gave her grief she just started complaining (REALLY LOUDLY) that she had bad feet and her podiatrist said she needed to wear these shoes. Which was total bunk. But I guess if you yell loud and threaten, office managers back off. I was just looking through the catalog of winter slippers from Land's End - my shearlings fell apart last week. They really have some comfy looking slippers. Ahhh - there ARE some good things about cold weather.
Terra - glad your migraine eased up. I hope you have a good weigh in next week.
Ceejay - when I lived in my last town down south, there were a lot of seminars because they had a lot of older people so maybe you might want to watch the local newspaper or check in with a community senior center if they have one near you. It helps that almost 50 percent of the population is aging. They said every day 10,000 people in the USA turn 65. That's a lot of us gray hairs
Ok, I have to go change my shirt - stains from dropping spaghetti on my chest at lunch - but then maybe I should just wear it to the eye doctor as proof that my eye isn't working right from the shingles
Have a good weekend chicks.
Do you'all have room for 1 more here... I Need some Daily inspiration & some Butt-Kicking from friends dealing with similar stuff--food & Getting my Healthy body back. Your thread 'title' sounded 'cozy & friendly' so it was my first choice.
I've been away for way too long (2013, I was @ my goal/normal weight 145 lbs. when I left here). But 'now' I've added about 10 lbs. I've gotten 'careless' again with eating & being physical from tons of stress the last 1 1/2 years.
My sweet dh came home from work with food from 'Popeye's Chicken, so I grabbed my laptop & here I am.... Looking for Help... tomorrow is Sweetest Day, but we're going a college football game playing against Ball State & tail-gating first (brats, burgers, etc.); & Sunday having our Sweetest Day dinner @ a Italian restaurant carbs & fat...
Happy Sweetest Day Chicks
ps: I got a Shingles shot @ Rite Aid from the Pharmacist, after seeing the pain & problems our dentist had & she's in her 30's ouch!!! & she thought it was for ppl over 60 yrs. I phoned our Public Health Agency & she said yep, Shingles is more common over 40 yrs, but it can happen @ any age...
Morning all,
Another warm day here, despite the Met Office telling us we would have rain overnight - which didn't happen and that there would be rain today - which won't happen since to have rain, you need clouds and there isn't one in the sky. How can they get it wrong so often, so badly?
I have the DS2s cat for the weekend. They have gone 'Glamping' out west a bit. For those who don't know glamping, it is glamorous camping.
Click the link glamping to see where they are and what it looks like.
The cat is like a black ghost. Hardly says anything (unlike Chatty Cathy) and just appears when food is around and disappears when it isn't. I've been putting my dinner on to cook in the crockpot and he appeared because he could smell meat. However I don't think he has ever had bones because he didn't know what to do with the one I gave him.
Ceejay - yes the kitchen and the bathroom seem to take longer than anything else. But like you I find routine works. How are you going with the cycle miles? Have you got to Paragould yet?
Laura - The dingo is a small version of the bobcat. I don't have the room for the full size bobcat so something smaller is required. Picture of one below.
Speaking of crabs and other hard shell crustaceans, I used to whinge and whine about the amount of work to get the meat out of the shell until I found this tool that looks a bit like a nutcracker. You crush part of the shell with it and then use this pick thing at the other end of it to push the meat out of the leg or claw. Makes like a lot easier. Not that I eat much crab or lobster.
Happy - so sorry to hear that you have shingles. I won't dignify that with a capital letter. It's very painful. I hope they sort something out for you asap.
Having lived with dementia with Mum, I know exactly what you are talking about as far as your seminar goes. However I don't think anyone is quite prepared for living with it. Almost makes one want to have the disease rather than care for one with it. Almost I said.
Glad to hear that for once the co-ordinator listened and is closing earlier. No one should have to walk alone to a bank these days. I probably wouldn't mind it, but not over there.
The jacket sounds nice. I love Liz Claiborne. Remember going to her shop in San Francisco when I was there. Great stuff.
Michelle - cars always cause us a pain in the wallet, but it is good that you got that exhaust problem fixed. No need for carbon monoxide inside the car, not good for you or Santa.
Susie, Annie, Terra - Have a good weekend.
miniDoodles - always room for one more. Welcome back to 3FC. If you want someone to kick *** then you are at the right spot. We can be very good at it.
CJ ~ Yeah I used to have migraine's all the time before I had my galbladder taken out but now I dont have them as often.
Laura ~ Thats cool that you and your b.f have a couple of little tools to slice the shells open. Yeah I hate getting migraine's and I always know that its a migraine too cause I always get a sick feeling and with a normal headache I dont feel like I'm gonna get sick so thats the way I know which one I'm having. Yeah it was a bummer that I had to cancel my class 30 mins before it got started especially because we were suppose to get new people so yeah it was a bummer, I hope this week I'll be able to do my class and the new people come back again.
Shad ~ Hi, How are you doing this morning? I hope your doing wonderful
MiniDoodles ~ Welcome and Yes we always have room for another person
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I slept in extremely late this morning, I didnt get up until 7:30 am. Its now around 9. I've already ate breakfast and as always Clyde has already been outside and I bought him in earlier then usual cause its a little chilly this morning. He's now sleeping on the couch. I just gave him fresh food and water. Scott and I went over to his nephew's last night and we had a nice visit, Scott's nephew's wife invited us back over anytime we want to come back over so thats cool. Anyway today my only plans are to do my 30 min evening walk and my 2 miles with my dvd later on tonight and thats it. Actually I take that back I will probably clean the bathroom again today cause Scott has a bad habit about not cleaning up after his self after he shaves so the bathroom sink needs cleaned. Anyway take care everyone, Have a great day.
