Thumbs down Here we go!!

Hello Jaded Ones!!

Michelle - it has been cool here, too, and I'm lovin' it! We slept with the windows open last night, and it was heavenly. Before morning, we were snuggling under a quilt.

Ricci - which work out video did you buy? I've been doing WATP, when my knee and back lets me.

Cristi - WAY TO GO on the 1.5 pounds down!!!

I have been so busy today and spent several hours in town. My hair stylist dyed my hair a shade darker than usual....closer to my natural color. Now my eyebrows and hair match again, lol. Then I picked up my 4 y/o sort-of granddaughter and she helped DH plant pumpkin. They were so cute out iin the garden together. Then he taught her how to pick corn. In the meantime, I was picking blackberries and froze the juice to make jelly later. I'm going to try some of the suger-free jell stuff.

I'm doing fine OP - and the water is good too. I had a hot ham and swiss from Arby's tonight with a salad. We eat out a lot on Fridays, and I am not going to live on Subway sandwiches, yummy as they are.

Better go for now... be good!

Jana:

You are inspiring me. I wish you could sprinkle your magic fairy dust on me....but I know all too well, it has to come from within! I am just so tired of two days on, one day off, etc.

Change will happen when the pain of staying the same is greater than the pain of change.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Good morning ladies!

I hope everyone is having a great Saturday so far.

The pups woke me up at 6:30, but I managed to get them to go back to sleep a while later, and they let me sleep til 10! It felt wonderful.
I got most of my housework done yesterday, so I pretty much have the day to myself, guilt free! I think Im going to relax on the deck and read, do some gardening and walk the dogs. Then a trip to the gym, and dinner with my sweetie.
I have to tell you all how sweet my hubby is. Yesterday he made me a card, and in it he asked me to join him for a date on Friday the 25th, which turns out to be the day we met. I had forgotten, but Mr Romantic never forgets anything. Plus he brought me flowers when he got home from work the day before. I swear Im the luckiest woman in the universe.
Hes done some of the nicest things anyones ever done for me. In the winter, he once set up a tray of tea and cookies for me to wake up to in the morning. He did this at 4am when he was getting ready for work!
He once made me a dozen cards and hid them all over the house. I found them in my underwear drawer, in the freezer, in the medicine cabinet...
He sent me an email that was just the words to the Beatles "Michelle".
What a sweetheart. Hes such a romantic fool, and I love him for it!

Anyway, before I get all teary eyed...(TOM makes me so sentimental.)

Congrats Cristi on the 1.5lbs!!! I have maintained, which is the best I can hope for this week. But Im hot on your tail for next week!

I hope everyone else is happy and well.
Talk to you all later.

Michelle

I bought the tae bo ultimate abs video. I have the basic tae bo work out. Let me tell you, my stomach is sooooooo sore right now. Was able to put on my new smaller size swim suit and go to the water park yesterday. Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Hi ladies,

Carree - remember last year when YOU were MY inspiration?? Your "change" quote is oh so true!! Not to get all Dr. Phil on you or anything, but I asked myself "What is my payoff for staying fat", then I wrote down some reasons... it was HARD to be honest about this!! Then I made a list of what would be advantageous about losing weight - a much longer list!! Also, in the back of my mind, I KNOW I am going to lose the weight sometime, so why not NOW? It was the same way when I quit smoking 5 years ago - I knew I was going to quit sooner or later, so decided to just get it over with. Does that make sense?? For me it's not IF, it's WHEN.... Anyway, just keep coming here, and we will all get though this together, okay?

Michelle - hope you have had a very relaxing Saturday. Your DH sounds so sweet and romantic! Mine used to put candy bars under my pillow... now, at my request, he changed it to fruit, and puts it in the fridge, lol.

Ricci - YAY for the smaller swimsuit!!!!!! Tae Bo is obviously doing a good job for you!

Hi to the others.

Not much news today. After I got done what needed done, I have been reading the new Oprah Magazine . It's all about weight this month - losing it and accepting it. Very interesting!! I also have been reading the King of Torts by John Grisham. I'm getting close to the end, and things are heating up, lol.

Tomorrow is weigh in, and I'm glad of that. I've done well all week with the food and water. Hope I will be closer to getting to wear the bracelet!

TTFN,
Jana

Happy Sunday to you,

I'm just about out the door, on my way to church but wanted to report my weight loss for the week - 1 3/4 pounds. That's a total of 22 1/2 now.... slow but sure, right?

This afternoon we are visiting my bil with the broken leg - not to be confused with the bil w/cancer. They are both named Jerry, though.

Ah, a nice quiet day....

Have a good one,
Jana

Good morning lovely ladies...

I hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend so far.
Mine has been relaxing, which is just how I planned it.

Jana... Congrats on the 1 3/4 lbs!!!! You are well on your way to wearing that bracelet. You are doing so well, Im so happy for you. Youve had nothing but steady decreases since you started. You are my hero!
I hope both Jerrys are doing well.

Ricci...I hope you had fun at the waterpark. That abs workout must be good for you.

Hi Carree...two days on and one day off is better than no days on at all! I know how you feel. Its gets tiring after a while, being constantly consumed with what you eat, how much you exercise, and how much you weigh. Sometimes, you need a day to just not think about it, and enjoy your life. Dont beat yourself up for being OFF plan for a day, congratulate yourself for being ON plan for two!

For me it a matter of training myself to make better choices everyday. Since Im not following any particular plan ...(which Im beginning to wonder if I should rethink that)...its up to me to decide to take the lower fat item, the smaller portions, and skip the junk. I still have my one day off two days on but Im getting better.
I think for me my focus is more on exercise, than on what I eat. Which could be all wrong...but I feel like if I slip up and eat the junk, at least Im backing it up with some exercise. I figure somewhere along the line, the combination of learning to eat better, and exercise has to make a difference. Not this week though...looks like I maintained, but didnt lose. Ill blame TOM for that, cuz its soooo convenient...lol.

Hello to everyone else. You must be having great weekends, and keeping yourselves busy.
Take care of yoursleves!

Michelle

Good morning ladies!

What a beautiful Sunday...I had my first cup of coffee out on the deck with a good book. Came in and ate some raspberry jam on my flax seed toast. Shared it with Skittles,,,its her first birthday today. DH and I bought her a day spa...yes they have day spas for dogs....lol (I used to laugh at people like me before we had our dog, now I understand.)
We had dinner at my brothers and SIL's it was a birthday party of sorts, since they have the sister to Skittles....lol
I made 2 huge batches of salsa yesterday and one batch of jam,,,my feet were so sore from standing so long....I swear I was in the kitchen for 5 solid hours. But its worth it!

I worked out 3 times this past week,,,eating was better then normal so Im feeling really good about myself. Im not going to join TOPS, after talking to another woman at the gym she said the SAME thing you said Jana,,,mostly old women go to that.

Well I should get going,
have a great day!

Hi and Happy Sunday to All!

Jana and Michelle,

Thanks for the kind and encouraging words. If this were easy, then we would all be thin and fit. I have decided to order The Firm videos and start working out with weights again. I enrolled at a gym five years ago and worked out for two years but quit three years ago when I became ill with hypoparathyroidism. Now that it's behind me, it's time to get going again. I was really making some serious progress when I was working out with weights, but I am a morning person and find it literally torture to exercise at night.

Angie: If you are a dog lover, you are definitely GOOD PEOPLE!
As far as I am concerned, my pups are better than most people, but I digress.

HANG IN THERE JADED LADIES! WE CAN DO THIS!

Love,
carree

Hello. Jana invited me from another board and I told her that I would come over here and lurk a little. I looked at the profiles and thought it was a good sign that Jana and da fat and da furious had the same birthday as my DH (9-11). Isn't that too wierd?

Anyway, I am an elementary teacher from Arkansas who finally gets the fact that she weighs more than most of the wrestlers on WWF. I have tried low-carb and just couldn't take all of the restrictions!!! A friend of mine at school has done WW and it makes sense to me. I really need some support. I am starting tomorrow, so I have been scarfing down the cookies in the pantry like nobody's business! I can't go to the meetings, but I have all of the info thanks to a lovely yard sale and the internet. I found some really good sites with things like downloadable points calculators and such.

My day went pretty smoothly (except for the fact that it's TOM and my nerves are shot ) DH took us out for breakfast, we went to see the MIL in the hospital (hip transplant), and by the time we got back, I missed church. It doesn't get dark here until about 8:30, so we spent the time washing up the Cherokee because I am looking at a new Caravan tomorrow. Oops! This is getting long. Thanks for listening.... er ..... reading.

Happy Monday Jaded Ladies,

Michelle - awww, thank you for the kind works. You have become my exercise hero! With my trick knee, I haven't done nearly the exercising that I should. I am going to wrap it in an ACE bandage today and try my tape again.... WATP is just perfect for me.

Angie - I agree with Carree - our dogs are our other kids. A spa for Fido? What a great idea! Maybe they could get rid of the butt-breath our dogs always have, lol.

Carree - I love your positive outlook! The Firm must be a really good workout tape, because I read about it on boards a lot. And look what Oprah has done to her bod since she got serious with weight lifting - she looks really, really good. I know you can do it, sweetie.

Kayecee - I'm so glad you found us!! WELCOME!! So, you share the same BD as Angie and me, huh? That's too cool! I once realized that I weigh more than most football players and that was a very sobering fact. But at least we are trying to do something about it, right?? I think you will love WW. It is the only program that I have lost consistantly with. And the losses are better on the weeks I drink lots of water. Anyway, so glad you are here!

Today I'll be doing lots of laundry. And this is just for DH and myself. We are either awfully dirty or awfully clean, I can never figure out which...

For those of you who suffer with PMS, I thought I'd give you this list.

PMS stands for:

Pass My Shotgun
Psycotic Mood Swings
Perpetual Mood Swings
Puffy Mid-Section
People Make me Sick
Provide Me with Sweets
Pardon My Sobbing
Pimples May Surface
Pass My Sweatpants
Plainly, Men Suck
Pack My Stuff
and the worst of all...
Potential Murder Suspect

Have a good day,
Jana

Hello everyone!

Welcome to all our new members!!!!!!! Sorry I've been AWOL, but last week just wasn't a good week for me. It rained here quite a lot so DH got rained out at work almost every day so he was home and when he's not working much he gets crabby.

Jana, you forgot one.......... Putting up with Men's Sh*t.

I kind of got off track last week with the diet, alas, no TOM to blame it on, but I am back OP this week. I did go walking just about every evening last week though, averaged about 4 or 5 miles a night, I just need to get back into working out on my home gym every day again.

Carree and Angie, Hooray for dogs! I agree most dogs are better than people. Our 2 dogs are like our kids too, sometimes I think they're worse than kids. But who can resist those puppy dog eyes and unconditional love???

Michelle, does your husband give lessons? Mine could certainly use some!

Hello to anyone I mised! I'm off to go job hunting.
Ta ta, Mel

Happy Monday ladies!

Well look at the shiny new version of 3FC. It looks great!

I hope everyone had a good weekend.
Its a beautiful day here, so I think Im going to take the doggies for an early walk before it gets too hot.
Today the pup goes for her first vet visit, for her boosters, and to get her sutures removed. Im sure she'll hate me afterwards, and never want to get in the car again.

Hi Angie...a spa for dogs? Is it like a little hot tub or something? Sounds like we have alot of doggie lovers here. I was the same way..I laughed at paople who called their pets "baby". But now Im one of them. I love my little furbabies with all my heart.
And I have to agree with Carree...I like them better than I like most people.

Carree...are you going back to the gym? Ive found that its made a world of difference for me. But I was a serious couch potato. I may not have lost alot of weight yet, but I feel better mentally as well as physically. I was thinking about ordering the firm tapes too. It looks like a really good work out, and I like the weight pole that comes with it. Let us know how it is.

Jana...inspiration everywhere on this thread! lol
I keep telling my hubby about you, and how good youre doing on WW. Since we kinda started at the same time, Im always inspired by your successes. But youre kickin my butt! Which tells me that I have to watch my food a little bit better, and exercise alone isnt going to get the job done.
BTW....the "people make me sick"...is alll mine. Thats me to a 'T'.

Kaycee...Welcome! So nice of you to join out little party. Im sure youll find all the support..plus some, right here. Good luck on WW, as you can tell its worked wonders for some people here...(right...Jana?). My turning point was when I went onto a weight loss site and did the BMI test. It said I was severely obese...(the 'O' word..I hate it). I had no idea I was that bad
