Good for you in relaxing this week end. If any one deserves it's you. Mel Doing the happy dance for you  Congrats on those pounds lost Laura Your ticker is showing that you've lost 15 pounds. Congrats to you also. Hello's to Happy and Annie. Annie Hope things are slowing down for you. ---------------- Trip to the doctor was good. He gave me a new med to try for the allergies. And he gave me something for the panic attacks. Didn't ask for the refill on the Mobic. Going to take arthritis strength Tylenol to see if this will do. And I'm going to start the otc MSM again for joints. I've seen advertisement about Mobic that's frightening. Called and wished my little sis a happy birthday yesterday. She turned 60. Took my friend to get her hair cut yesterday. She used the beautician I have been using at J.C. Penny's salon. Back home today and I haven't done anything since I've been back. |
Hi Gurlz.....
It has been mad chaos at work...the suite looks like a war zone. So much going on. The new place cannot really accommodate us...people wise or network wise. May be no phone or internet hookups to Humana net for several weeks. Will lose business, seniors with Humana medicare won't be able to contact us. Such a mess. The dumba$$es that secured our new offices did not really know our needs. Well H*ll no they did not. The d*ck was out of CA. How the H*LL would he even know or guess. It is such a huge MF mess. I am so upset about it. My stomach is in knots, and...sorry HAPPY...I am pooing yellow fizz. Painting dad's room and his bathroom this weekend and hopefully DS will get here on Sunday to install toitie and shower safety rails. My mind is a blurrrrrrr. On a brighter note...Samantha and I went to see the Jersey Boys tonight. So good, we loved it. Such a good time with DD, we chatted and laughed about it all the way home. That just made my day and put me in a better mood. Unfortunately I am too wired to go to bed. Not doing personals tonight. Need to figure out a sleeping plan....got lots to accomplish tomorrow, starting with Menards (hardware store) which I love. C is feeling better and I can hear him snoring...lol The door is shut too! Sassy must be enduring it as she has not scratched on the door yet to get out and I have been home almost an hour. Loves and hugs.... |

Morning
I slept late this morning and really not in a mood to do much of anything, and my list is long today. Down loaded window 8 last night. They were going to keep shutting down the computer every hour until I did. Now I'm going to have to reinstall the printer, virus scan and the games that I had on here. ugh. Annie Sending you good vibes to get things done today. Glad you enjoyed the concert. Mel Hope things simmer down today. |
Morning all.
Just got home from the salon after a touch up. Apparently there's a salon robber in the general vicinity, so they've been warned by the police & are keeping the doors locked at all times. Annie - sorry somebody dropping the ball has made things so rough for you with this office move. Stay strong girlfriend!! Glad you enjoyed Jersey Boys. You really needed that! Ceejay - hope the new allergy med works for you & you find a good sub for the mobic. Yeh, lost about 15 pounds since the end of August. Had eating issues last week, but lack of appetite this week took care of the 1-2 pounds that had found me. Mel - Boo on the plumbing probs!! Don't let any surly seniors hassle you!! Poor Richie losing a tooth. I'm sure even the partial will cost a bundle. :( Enjoy Roy & Hopalong today. Flipping channels this week told me there sure are a lot of old westerns on daytime tv, lol. Michelle - hope you had a nice lunch w/ you're former co-workers yesterday. Yeh, we need to shop today too- I know I won't want to go out in this frigid weather we're getting tomorrow. Brrr! Keep warm! Happy- hope you're staying warm. It was really windy here yesterday and the house was chilly thanks to it. But that was just a warmup, haha, for the arctic air coming in. Bundle up. Shad - how's your weekend coming? More like going by now! Hellos to Patty, Ellen, & Java. --- Well, I'm stuck with annoying nasal & chest congestion now, but the fever seems to have left, so guess that means I'm on the mend. Bf & i spent yest. morning packing up our home office and then our new (to us) stuff arrived. A couple wrong size pieces came so we're still without an office til probably late next week. Oh well, it'll come together soon enough. Skipping book club tonight. Ok, posting, then off to lunch. TTFN. |
Hi all,
Not much going on here. Preparing for the frigid blast to hit us tonight. Wind chills of -20 to -30 below zero. Arrrrrrrgh. Stopped at the grocery store after work last night and got a few things to top off the larder. I am ready to stay home and hunker down. Except that I have a podiatrist appointment Monday afternoon. DH will have to sit in the car and keep it running while I go in. Laura - salon robber? That's novel. Heck I'd chase a fool down the street with foils in my hair if he tried to snatch my purse  Glad you are feeling a bit better. Don't over do and cause a relapse. Will have to post a pic of the new office once you get it assembled. Mel - sorry to hear about Ritchie's tooth. Expensive dental bills are not what they need. I hope you have locked up the apartment door and turned the cowboy movie volume up REAL LOUD. I can only imagine the reaction of the seniors when they find the laundry room shut down. Just get out your lariat and threathen to hog tie them with the laundry line if they don't shut up. Never a dull moment in your building... I hope you did not inhale any flu germs. The problem is that people are contagious before they actually get sick so you never know what you are picking up. Hide and be well! Say hello to Hop A Long for me. Ceejay - good luck with Windows 8. I hear alot of people complaining about it and I heard that if you don't have a touch screen monitor it can be a hassle to use. I hate when they force you to make a choice like that. Annie - no real surprise on the lunacy of the office move. Someone probably got a bonus for saving the corporate office lots of money. Doesn't matter if the space is totally unusable. Deal with it suckahs. Maybe when people don't get their commission checks, someone will listen. You have to figure out a way to calm yourself down. The fizz stuff is your body telling you it is in major chaos. Don't be getting a heart attack over this. We think we have to be responsible for everything but they are just looking for a flunky to take it. When you fall, they will just walk over the body and find another one. Don't do this to yourself. I'm glad you had a great time at the play with Sissy. You need to do more stuff like this, even if it's just out for a cheap dinner - you can't keep going at 90 mph. Recharge the batteries girl. We worry about you. Shad - where are you??? Not like you to stay away this long. Are you ok? I know there's alot going on in your side of town but I hope you are not laying on the floor collapsed in the heat or in some cell after you went off on a dummy at the office. Check in please. Hello to the rest of you ladies. I need to find some lunch and get busy here. I'm thinking I need to check some things out in the garage to make sure they don't freeze and break. I am regretting not doing more in there this summer. Stay warm - talk to you later. |
Laura - if you are skipping book club is that the discussion about the book Room? I just started it, hoping to finish it up tomorrow.

Good Afternoon Girls....
So far productive....made it to the grocery and hardware (my personal fav and spent 1.5 hours walking thru checking out stuff). Got a bath safety thingy for dad and lots of other stuff needed to paint dad's room and bathroom. Samantha's Chris is coming tomorrow to paint his bedroom and bath, I delegated that to them as I have done so much for them, they could contribute and give me and mostly Curtis a break. They agreed and are happy to do the painting. Not to mention, Chris is such an excellent perfectionish person, it will look marvelous. That brings me a little relief. I did spend 150 bucks on all kinds of stuff at the hardware that I just know I NEEDED. haha. My brother from Illinois is here this weekend. He arrives at 4 this afternoon. Don't know if I will get together with him with everything going on, unless he stops by here. I have things to do big brother...make yourself useful around here for dad. Sore spot with this brother. Speak of the devil...my phone just went off and said brother Chuck..I didn't answer. I just do not feel like him or really anyone right now. I am a terrible sister, I know. There is just so much to do and I am not up to entertaining. I suck. ANYWAY....my house smells so stinkin good. I have a pork roast in the crock pot. Italian pork roast with fresh garlic cloves. My house smells so dang good I could probably eat the walls. Serving red roasted potatos and cauliflower/broccoli/carrots for dinner. I would invite my brother, butttttt......................... HAPPY....we too are expecting for a cold blast...not as bad as you but in the single digits, starting Monday and for a couple of days. Then getting back the to normal cold. Stay warm sister....snuggle up with DH...surprise him with extra loving...translation...keeping warm...haha CEEG....I take not feeling in the mood as a down day and just rest and enjoy the Hallmark channel...just ask MELLIE...she will back me up on this one. THe heck with everything, relax. LAURA...ok....at the commune..you will be in charge of exercise classes and getting some movement in our lazy bones. You rock. I wish our office issues were as minimal as your home office...I know it is huge in a home...I am just stressing on getting things right in our office. I just wish when I am asked umteen billion question about the space and move, I had one answer. MELLIE, MELLIE, MELLIE....never brag it will come back to haunt you...all I can say is put the d*mned out of service sign on the door and do not answer the phone. Hope you Jen and Richie have an enjoyable weekend and good eats! Hi SHADDIE...did you make it home for some down time? Hey CHELLE....gearing up for the new/old job? ELLEN...breath!!! Hey to the lurkers...we loves you all too!! Have a great Saturday/Sunday... |
Morning all,
Seems I have been away longer than I thought I would. However here is the story. I have been on and off working on an assignment which came to fruition last week. For the first time in nearly five months I have done something, achieved something, which has given me satisfaction in this job. I was back in my own sphere, doing what I do best. Also for the first time in nearly a year, the powers that be heard a system user say that this is easier than the other system we had. FINALLY. One of the project people that started at the same time as me has left to go back to our world as we termed it. She was harassed and harried and bullied into stuff that she knew nothing about - as I was but not as much as her, so now they are about to start on me and push me probably until I give in as well. However, they haven't worked out who they are dealing with yet. I have been over the past couple of weeks actively looking for work to get me out of here. Tomorrow the training director gets back and I will go to see her and ask to transition to her side of the fence. If that doesn't, can't or won't happen, then I am handing in my notice regardless of any other happenings. It's not optional. Other than that, things are wet in Darwin. It would seem that the wet season may have begun - finally. We have had 2 days of heavy rain, thunder, tropical storms, wind and it is cool for this area and this time of the year. By cool I mean that for one whole day, Darwin slipped under the 30C mark and today is not going to get much higher. The locals will be getting out their fur coats and boots shortly. But enough of my woes. Annie - what a mess in the office. I presume the d*ckhead in CA was the preferred supplier for Humana. Pity you are not a big important semi head office or heads might roll in CA. Keep calm and keep complaining to the bigwigs. They might get sick of you eventually. Nice of the family to pitch in and help with Dads new accommodation. Be nice if there was a pool of money to help with the financial side of it as well. Ceejay - Hope the installation goes okay. Mine didn't do that. It just told me there were updates available and I left it until I was ready to do them. I do get tired of all these updates. Ellen - Happy - thanks for worrying about me. I'm okay. Standing up for myself and took the Director and her willing slave on about punctuality the other day. Guess that wins me the most unpopular vote for the week. Hope DH gets the help he needs soon. It must be worrying for him and no doubt the more he gets stressed and worries, the worse these episodes will be. Laura - our exercise queen. My exercise has been sporadic - more talk than do, but I did manage to get out during a break in the weather yesterday. Think what I need more than anything else is a punch bag. Pound in some sense maybe? The home office will be much appreciated when you get it. It tends to force you to get things organised before the desk gets there. DS2 took his desk away a couple of weeks back, so I had to file everything that was on it. Good job that. Michelle - congratulations on getting the old job back. I sure hope you appreciate your good luck. It will help you get back on your feet before the CA move. Next weekend is Australia day weekend. 3 day weekend. They love public holidays here in Aus so much that when the specific day falls on a weekend, they also get Monday off. Amazingly enough every State seems to have agreed to that. So I am going home for that weekend. Back on Tuesday. Lucky DS2 also gets Tuesday off since Monday would have been his allotted RDO (rostered day off - he works a 9 day fortnight) Anyway, it's time to shower, shampoo and shave I guess. Then breakfast. Or maybe I will go for a swim downstairs in the pool first. Not likely to be anyone else down there at 8.00am Sunday morning in the rain. Catch you tomorrow when I will no doubt have another thrilling update of life in the tropics. |
Shad
Ah, Sorry things are not working out. But I would do the same thing as you. Laura You deserve a big :bravo: for losing those 15 pounds. Wish I could get back into the groove. Happy Brr, I'm getting cold just thinking about the -degree weather. I'm curious to know what the podiatrist finds. Annie I did take my time in getting some things done. Lately I have no energy. I did get my b12 Thursday. But I'm thinking it's the stress of my job--long hours etc. ------- for some unknown reason I can't get into my blog at 3fc. Don't know if it's because of the new W8 or something else. |

NO infections please:hug: Hope your other office stuff arrives and all is well next week! Rest up today!!! and NO ROBBERS!!! I'll come and do your hair!!:lol3: Happy....told the boss too many are sick for me to be downstairs yet. When I was there the place was empty. I pray a lot!! Your frigid blast is due here in a few days. Weds I think:brr: Stay warm Monday and let's not go out any more till at least May:sunny: Annie....I will come and barracade your door and stop all calls for you!! Morning
Nothing new in my little corner of the world. Got most of my list done yesterday but I'm not going to get upset over it. It can wait till tonight or this week end. Never have gotten back into my blog so I've scooted over to blogger.com Mel You are the early bird. And I don't blame you for ot going downstairs where all the comotion and germs are. More later |
Happy Sunday Ladies,
Freezing freezin up here in the woods today. Tomorrow will be even colder. Even the animals won't come out. I feel sorry for them. I was wondering how they get any water as everything is frozen solid. Outside of the podiatrist tomorrow I don't have to go out until Wednesday. I do hope the boss will return so I don't have to pull 4 days straight this week but I'm prepping myself just in case... Til then I will enjoy my days at home here. Shad - good to hear from you, kind of far to send a search party. How nice that you FINALLY got something to do that you felt was worthwhile. One needs those sorts of victories every once in a while just to get invigorated again. Enjoy your long weekend. Hope you get in a swim and have a few laps for me. I sure do miss the pool. Ceejay - I never did the blogs here at 3FC. But you remind me that I have not been good about keeping up with the one I started when I moved here. Did you get your Windows 8 updates finished? Mel - I think it's totally smart of you to avoid the office for many reasons. Particularly if people are sick. They are making no bones about the flu that has been circulating. And you certainly don't need to deal with that at all. If I had to go there I'd glide in with a face mask and a GIANT bottle of hand sanitizer and make people scrub up before they approached me  You can just run things from the command center in your "office" upstairs. Stay warm, the cold is coming. Of course they are making a big deal on the weather channel as it hits east. You east coast people must be a bunch of weenies  I want a Jacuzzi walk in Hot Tub in my bathroom. DH says they leak. I think it would fit nicely in the space we have. I guess I will never get the spa bathroom I have always dreamed of. And they are expensive. I would have to work non stop for about 3 years to pay for it. That's alot of popcorn to sell and time on my feet - I'd wear them down to stubs  Annie - if there's one thing better than the smell of roast pork, it's roast pork with garlic. Your dinner sounded so good! Wish they made scented candles like that. I'm glad that you delegated the painting to the kids. You're right - it's an easy way for them to help return the many favors you have done for them. And it's a family thing - reach out and help one another. And I'm sure you won't mind babysitting while they work. As for splurging at the store - buying clothes may be a frivolous purchase but in my opinion stuff at the hardware and grocery stores is always a good deal. And you did the right thing with the brother. Right now you are super busy doing what you need to - let brother take Dad out for dinner or pick him up and you can visit WHILE everyone paints Dad's room and works on the upgrades to the bath. And if he doesn't like it  - things are tough all over  Hi Laura, Ellen, Michelle, Patty, Java. Hope you are enjoying your Sunday. I think I'm going to surprise DH and go make some of his favorite pancakes. Later chicks... |
Happy
Stay safe tomorrow to you trip to the podiatrist office. It's amazing how the northern half of the world lives when it comes to ice and snow. Our area shuts down for any kind of frozen precipitation. Are you keeping an online journal or a hand written journal? ------------------------ I'm not in a mood to do any work today. My co-worker left me a note stating that her fil is dying from liver cancer. She may need to take off to help care for him. If the bosses come to me and ask me to work, I'm going to suggest going to 8 hour shifts and let every one get some overtime. I can't handle those 20-40days straight working 12 hours per day any more. |
Good afternoon ladies -
I'm over at the ex's...even though I have almost all my stuff out of there. Last things are the dresser mirror, a couple framed art pieces, my bike and a file cabinet that I may or may not take. It's too darn cold to move anything today. It's 8 degrees outside and the temp will be dropping to 1 overnight. :brr: I mostly came over so that Santa could play with the other dogs because he won't get a walk tonight...not in these frigid temps. I know...I'm a wimp when it comes to cold, which is why I'm moving back to CA. To all of you who have commented...yes, I'm extremely grateful for my old company hiring me back! And I will work hard and do a great job for them so they won't regret that decision. My head is a lot clearer and I'm in a much better place to succeed at work than I have been in the past few months. To those who have seen my FB posts...I love those affirmations and positive thoughts. sometimes I post them because they mirror how I'm feeling...and sometimes I post them because they are how I would like to be feeling. The past couple weekends have been sad for me. The more I remove from my old house, the more "real" this whole divorce is. This Tuesday is 23rd anniversary of the first date I had with the ex. :( Sucks that we grew apart and that he did what he did. I know in the long run, I will be much happier being in CA and being warm and close to my family. I've missed them terribly over these last nearly 12 years that I've been in WI. ===================== Shad - I'm so sorry that the job suck so bad. I hope you're able to transfer to the training team. Good on you for already looking for other opportunities. Life is too short to be treated badly. Annie - So good of Chris to help you get the house ready for dad. I totally understand why you don't want to see your brother. You've got a lot on your plate right now. Delegate what you can, focus on getting C healthy and you staying healthy.  BTW, thanks for the penguin "Live Your Best Life" page you sent me. :) Love ya, sista. Your roast pork in the slow cooker has my mouth watering. I have to look up some recipes for my slow cooker...especially since I don't have an oven that works. Happy - It sounds like Room is a book you don't want to put down and/or you're a very fast reader. I've been finally reading the Hunger Games trilogy. I just finished book one, and placed a hold at the library for the 2nd book "Catching Fire". Stay warm, my friend. And be mindful of the risk of frostbite for any exposed skin in those wind chills. That sucks you have a doctor appointment and have to venture out in the frigid temps! Laura - Congrats on losing 15 pounds!!! That's amazing!!! :bravo: Scary that there's a salon robber. Smart that the salon keeps their door locked. How cool that you're getting new stuff for your home office! My ex has been tuning up a couple computers for me, so my home office may not get set up for awhile. I'm realizing that I have A LOT of stuff and will have to do more consolidating/donating before I move to CA. I know I won't be able to afford a three bedroom place there like I have here....I hope to be able to afford a two bedroom place though so I can continue to have a home office. Mel - Sorry to hear about Ritchie's teeth. I hope your day today is quiet as yesterday. Put the do not disturb sign out. Ceejay - I'd like to follow your blog if you don't mind. Can you please post or PM me the web addy? That's too bad about your co-workers fil. I hope you and the bosses can work out an arrangement so you don't get burned out. You have to take care of you and not let your health suffer. Much love and many hugs to all, |
