Oh and my day went like this....

Picked sissy up at 11, and got to see my lil man...he crawled over to me and sat up on his legs wanting me to pick him up...that made my day....Sis and I went to Cs house to see if she wanted to tackle the cleaning of it to put it on the market....Siss was so disgusted with Cs daughter living there in squaler. She was ready to drive to her house and smack the $hit out of her. Anyway she is going to clean it. Then we went to the pots and pan store and got the huge turkey pan she wanted. It was on sale for 9 bucks and I had a gift card for 8, so it kind of worked out....then we went to Macy's to get her a pair of jean with her gift card....then off to the hair salon for my cut and her cut...Sis wanted a "real" cut, not her own chop job. Took her home...She and I had such a great day....just mom and Siss...Chris kept lil man.

Tomorrow, C and I are going to take lunch to dads house and watch the Colts game with him....and discuss this whole move thing.

That is about it....loves

annie175 01-05-2013 04:40 PM

I logged back in to post something that came to mind and danged when I got her I cannot think what it was I was going to post....so duh...thinking

annie175 01-05-2013 04:48 PM

Then I looked outside. It is FN snowing AGain....hopefully it won't stick so much. I finally got my front walk/snow drift of 2.5 FEET, shoveled last night and how dare it snow. OK the commune has to be in a part of any land that it doesn't get cold or snow....OR I don't have to shovel and stay in, not work and cook and clean...that is my must haves...I agree with most...snow is pretty..for like 5 minutes. Then I am done.

Sassy is happily asleep on the couch with her new blanket that I got her at Target. It is one of those soft, fleecy, blankets and yes folks, I got it for 1.07. She loves it and I got a good bargain.

C bought Sis and I tickets to see Jersey Boys at the Murat...google it. They are great. It in on Friday night the 18th or something like that. I am very excited.

Until another thought comes to mind...chat later

Shad 01-06-2013 12:34 AM

Then I looked outside and it is sunny again. Where is the dreaded monsoon season and who replaced it with hot and sunny?
Apparently this weather is causing havoc with high temps and bush fires in the south of the country and poor little Tasmania is on fire. Approximately 100 homes burnt so far and not much relief in sight. No climate change - riiiggghhhhttttt.

Mel - good things come through the mail occaisionally. How nice of Annie and the Japanese ladies to get stuff to you very conveniently when you where at a low ebb.
Sent you some photos via e-mail today. Let me if you don't get them tomorrow.

Happy - good to hear about the job. Maybe not the best job in the world but it brings in a bit of play money and gets you out of the house for a while. Not good to hear about the foot tho. Thank DH for the info on Facebook. I will get around to replying to him immediately after I get the camera out and check the formats.

Annei - It certainly will be a challenge having your Dad live with you. It always seems to cause some friction or other. You may wishto have a 3 month settling in period, and either side can terminate the contract if it doesn't work. Truthfully, your dad doesn't want to live by himself, but isn't that what he will be doing while you are at work and out at weekends etc. ? Not trying to throw the spanner in the works (or maybe I am) but is this what he wants really? To be left alone all day? Bless C for his understanding and co-operation. Hope Dads room is a long way down the hall, or he is partially deaf. nudge, nudge, wink, wink

Ceejay - it's not funny, but I have to admit that I laughed over your floor and draino mishap. Can't remember how many times I have done that. At least the floor gets to be clean.

Ellen - hope you are all on the mend now and that the kids don't get anything nasty. Geez, wonder what else the year has in store.

Michelle - hope you are working off the cold feeling and getting better. Dogs get rather warm, you are right, but you could be making a problem for yourself if you take him to bed every night.
On the other hand, dashing off the quote to friends and family could be interesting.
"you will have to excuse me. I about to go to bed with Santa" has a certain tone to it! :lol3:

Laura - what happens now you have done the last class? Going to buy another passport? I've been out and about early in the mornings getting some exercise in. Lots of steps around here to go up and down. Counted myself going up 297 steps in various places and down just as many as well because I tend to go down and then back up and sometimes down again, depending on where I want to go next.

Okay - better get going again. I'm going to take a walk along the waterfront and then go to the bottle shop. I went out to a couple of other markets this morning and picked up a few more bits and pieces. Now I just need to ensure that I eat properly through the week AND exercise. Determined to get some of this girth off in the time I have remaining here. Even bought a DVD the other day. Yet to work out how the machine works here at the apartment. Tomorrow I will upload some sunrise photos for those who haven't seen them on facebook.

OK, just another rollby for me...too much work to do!

Everyone here is feeling good as of last night anyway. None of the kids were up when I left this morning. Working all day today and tomorrow evening, the kids go back to school on Tuesday, I am thinking about ordering teh new tires for the car tomorrow. With the Ice left over from the snow we had yesterday, I was sliding around this morning. We had these big bold snow flakes and it looked like it would stick, but then it turned into a drizzle. Need to make a bunch of calls tomorrw too, need to set up my visits with the ENT and Podiatris and I need to resched DH's eye dr appt. LOL We are a little short because of Christmas, but will make it, just have to get thru the next 2 weeks.

Ok, I am resolving to get back on the Low carb bandwagon, because I really was doing so well on it. I also am resolving to work up to some exercise...even if I have to dance in my living room with DD3 at least I will be moving.

gotta get back to work. Luv and Hugs ladies!!

ceejay52 01-06-2013 12:44 PM

Morning
I've still got one small wet spot on the carpet that has to dry due to the washing machine incident.

Shad
I have been contemplating that your weather will be our weather in the Spring. It's always sad when those fires can't be put out.

Mel
I'll take rain any time over snow. I always feel better when I have my hair cut. It's practically all new growth now. I asked the beautician about high lighting my hair next time but I don't want blonde. My hair is too dark for that. He said that they could do most any color I wanted. So I'm saving up my money to do this. Think I'm going with a dark blonde or very light brown.

Happy
Sorry your foot is bothering you again. That can be painful.

happy2bme 01-06-2013 02:12 PM

Hi ladies,

OMG it's going to be in the mid 30's this week (temps). That's downright balmy compared to what it's been lately. Will have to stick my face outside and get a shot of sunlight.

Took the Christmas stuff down yesterday. Lots of work, lots of stairs. I did set it in the basement, need to bundle things nicely and place on the shelves. That's today's event I think. Also need to go through the freezer and make note of and use up some of the stuff that's nearing it's good by date. Good to use stuff like that for soups and stews in this weather. I must have spent over an hour deleting junk mail - need to unsubscribe from sales and stuff I don't read and don't need.

Ceejay - I don't like the blonde anymore either. Maybe a darker color with just some light highlights to put some tones in your hair to catch the light? Sorry about the washer. I did that a couple of times in Illinois - had a laundry tub next to the washer where it drained out and I'd put a pantyhose leg on the hose to catch lint. Sometimes it would get full of lint, stretch and get sucked in the drain as the cycles discharged. Sink would fill up and overflow - water ALL over. At least the floors are nice and clean now but it's so hard to dry the carpets.

Ellen - glad the kids didn't get sick. Tires are really important - especially in cold weather like ours. My Mom said yesterday that it started to snow but they were scheduled for freezing rain. Guess you got it. That's the worst stuff - would rather have 18 inches of snow.

Mom got her package of Christmas gifts yesterday. She was all excited. Since Mom is so hard to buy for - she rarely uses most of what we give her even is SHE asked for it... - I wound up picking up a bunch of odds and ends I thought she might like - warm slippers, new shower caps, a box of her favorite chocolates, a new 2013 calendar, etc. I wrapped each item individually and put it in the box. She said she had so much fun opening each present and loved it all. Bingo!

Mel - how did the seniors like the door hangers you talked about making for them? Cute picture of the puppy this morning.

Shad - I must say you get quite the nice view from your newest apartment. Maybe you can not face the drab interior and just face everything to look outside

Annie - is that Jersey Boys (the musical?) ie. Frankie Valley? Supposed to be a really good play/performance. Have fun! Does Dad not suspect that you will be moving him in or was it his hint? Let us know how things go. I guess you are the only spot out this way that is getting snow. Maybe you will be getting some of the warm up that the rest of us are seeing. :crossed:

Hello to the others - hope you are enjoying your Sunday. I'm going to find something to eat.

diyana 01-06-2013 03:56 PM

Hi ladies -

I'm glad I went to the memorial service to give that wonderful family some much needed love and hugs. So very sad that the family has been through so much loss. We never know when our time is up...life is so precious. I'm starting to focus more on my health...resting when I need to, getting exercise (Santa helps with that), and eating better to help manage my blood sugar.

Annie - God bless you and your brother for taking your Dad. And God Bless C as well for being such a sweetheart. Parents can definitely drive you crazy at times. My ex-DMIL is driving my ex crazy now...but cherish every crazy moment because we never have enough time with those we love.

Ellen - I hope you're feeling better. There's yucky stuff going around.

Happy - I heard it may get up to mid 40s here by mid-week. Yesterday morning I got to see some beautiful deer in the park behind my place. I had Santa out for his morning business (on a leash thank goodness). And he started growling softly, so I looked to see what he was growling at and saw 4 gorgeous deer with the cutest, fluffiest white tails! They were so beautiful! They heard Santa's growling and ran into the woods. :) Glad your Mom liked her gifts. As for Christmas decorations, I didn't decorate this year and neither did the ex. So I've been looking through the bins in the basement and pulling out what I want to keep. I still have to look through the ornaments...it's a fairly depressing task but I'm getting through it.

Mel - I hope the vertigo has passed. Thanks for the adorable snow puppy photo. The past two days since it was relatively warm (mid-30s), I took Santa to the dog park. I only lasted about 1/2 hour both days, but he had fun running and playing with the other dogs and of course greeting the other doggie parents. I sometimes feel bad that my new place doesn't have a fenced yard so he has to be on leash all the time...but at least when he's at the ex's house every weekday he can run free in the backyard with the other dogs.

Ceejay - I can imagine what a flood that was. I hope you got it all cleaned up without any damage. Is your laundry area carpeted? I hear stories of people with finished basements who get flooded during heavy rains or due to plumbing backups, and it's so hard to get the carpeting and padding to completely dry.

That's about all the news for me. I'm going to go run a couple errands and then relax the rest of the day.

Much love and many hugs to all,

Laura705 01-06-2013 08:49 PM

Hello Worldlies!

Michelle - So sad about the friend who lost his wife and now his brother. My SIL experienced similar loss a few years back - my bother (her dh) died in April, and her mother that following November. So much loss all at once. :( I'm glad you're able to focus more on your health now - I guess you've been forced to with the diabetes diagnosis. So nice Santa gets to go to the dog park. Between that and being in the yard at the ex's during the week, he gets plenty of off-leash time. :)

Ceejay - What a mess with the disconnected washer hose! Glad it's all cleaned up now. I never had that mishap, but like Happy, we've had issues with the washer draining into the wash tub. Ours is that the mesh lint catcher getting too full of lint at the bottom of it and water finding it's way out in openings near the top - and water spurting out in many directions, some harmlessly into the wash tub and some onto the floor. Oops.

Happy - I took down most of the Christmas decorations yesterday and today too. The tree is still up, however, but without its ornaments. I bet your mom enjoyed opening all the gifts - just opening them is fun, no matter what's inside. Enjoy your mild weather. I know I will. Too bad about the chronic foot pain. Hope the foot doc can help alleviate it. Maybe just a cortisone shot and rest? Nice to have "date night" - bf and I eat out more than we should, and a lot of the time it's a casual thing tacked on before or after running errands. I'd like to get to a point where we eat most of our meals at home and go out less frequently to somewhere "special", not just the same ol' spots.

Ellen - I was glad we had some sun today to melt most of the icy spots from yesterday's snow/freezing rain, but depending on where the sun hit or didn't, some of it didn't melt. I took a late walk with doggy after being out this afternoon and I was glad to have the flashlight with me because it helped me spot some icy areas on the sidewalk (where nearby shrubs or trees blocked the sun).

Mel - Love the snowy puppy photo - soooo cute!! Gosh, 4 days of getting calls in the middle of the night!!! Never a dull moment in that building... Hope there are no such calls tonight!! So nice to get "care packages" from dear friends, and what good timing!! Enjoy the mags and the strawberries!!!

Shad - So horrible to hear about the fires. The weather is just crazy. We're not getting snow in my neck of the woods...I admit I like getting the reprieve even though I know we really do need the moisture. :o Wow, that's a lot of steps up and down. Good workout. If it were me I'd have already scouted out the routes with fewer up/downs, or ups at least, LOL. :D As for exercise, I finally joined the no-frills gym by the house and will give that a go for a while. I will not buy a fitness class punch card for the session starting tomorrow; I will give the gym my full attention and see how it goes. If I don't push myself enough to get good workouts, I'll go back to the classes. No time like the present to get back to getting healthier and fitter. :) PS, saw the photo on FB - WOW! What a nice view to wake up to!

Annie - I'm glad the plans for your dad have been decided. Glad he brought it up, and better to be proactive than reactive. You and your brother are good kids to take on the responsibility. How difficult it'll be to clear out the house...but the memories will still be in your head and heart. What a great thing C said about maybe not letting dad go at the end of your 6 months!!! You are a couple with big hearts!! Your day with dd sounds wonderful. I just love kitchen stores - I don't get to cook as much as I like, but I sure love kitchen equipment, gadgets, etc. What a bargain on the blankie for Miss Sassy!!! Oh, you will love Jersey Boys - saw it a while back here in Chitown. Just love that music. Have fun!! I still want to see "Million Dollar Quartet" about Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, Elvis & Johnny Cash. I need to organize a group to see that. Any of my Midwestern Worldlies interested???;)

===
Weekend's coming to a close - boo! But I did very well with the undecorating. Got my ornament boxes fixed up in a much more functional way, hurray. Also set aside several decorations to donate. Getting rid of the decorative nutcrackers bf's aunt gives us every year - they creep bf out the same way some people don't like clowns, LOL.

Otherwise, did a couple dog walks, my last exercise class, a load of laundry, grocery shopping, and I'm most of the way through the book club book. Re the book, Room, I didn't like the beginning, but it grew on me, in spite of it giving me the creeps because of the disturbing topic. (Author, Emma Donaghue, FYI).

Okay, time to post this and savor what's left of the weekend! TTFN!

Just a quick fly through. I need to get to bed otherwise I will never get up in the morning.

A couple of photos of this mornings sunrise. Thanks to Happy's DH giving me some ideas and my camera co-operating, this is what things looked like at 5.45am through to 6.00am. No wonder the place looks like it is on fire.

They are a little underexposed this time, but I am working on it.

Monday, Monday, doo doo, doo doo, dah doo.....

Yesterday C and I took lunch over to dad's then stayed and watch the Colts not play well at all. Altho they had a pretty good season considering over half the team were rookies. They went into the play offs with 11-5 record. Came home and helped C get his monthly paperwork done and also pay bills. Watched a movie and tried to go to bed. Couldn't get to sleep so out to the lazyboy I went. Got up with C at 3:30 and got in bed when he left at 4. How can a man get ready for work so quickly and it takes me forever. He can $h*t, shower, shave and be out the door in like 20 minutes. Takes him an extra 10 minutes cuz he fiddles around with Sassy while he is getting dressed.

SHADDIE....hahahaha, had to laugh at the wink wink...dad's room is on the other side of the house and he is about half deaf. It will all work out...wink wink...I told C..no more living room s*x, he said really, who have you been having that with...we both cracked up. The sunset, rise pix are just gorgeous. Yes dad is already having concerns with getting in and out of the tub/shower as his is just a shower stall. He is worried about getting up over the tub edge....I told him C could help him with that, not me brother!

Posting this, gotta potty, brb to finish.

annie175 01-07-2013 08:38 AM

Back...

HAPPY...yes it is the Jersey Boys Musical. I am very excited about it. I was thinking about your feeties again, do you have a foot spa? My son got me one when I worked at Kohl's part time. It did help however the best thing I found to add to any water whether it be the tub or foot spa was epsom salts....I am sure you have tried that already.

LAURA...I am very interested in seeing the Million Dollar Quartet. If the weather will cooperate. I just love things like that. I also like to go to Beef n Boards here in Indy. They have quite a few shows/musicals I like, plus you get dinner. Ha ha on the nutcrackers, they creep my son out too, as a matter of fact when he was a baby, the first time he saw one he screamed his bloody head off. We tease him about it now.

CEEG...glad you have the healthy spirit going on for 2013. Good for you. My washer is on it's last leg, so don't be surprised if I come crying about how my washer quit running and it was full of water...had that happen to be before.

CHELLE....so happy to hear you are in such a positive state of mind. You are such a wonderful person and have so much to offer the world and the right person to appreciate you. Hugs

ELLEN...keep your fingers crossed that everyone stays healthy in your household. Makes it just a bit easier at home.

MELLIE MELLIE MELLIE...I do believe we are a lot alike....for instance, my goal today is to just get to the potty in time that I don't suffer panty issues...lol. Oh and BTW...the brushetta chicken thing...I added mushrooms to the tomatos...OMG YUM! The cookie pix looks yummy and they are pink, my favorite. However, today I am starting healthy eating and maybe even do a few minutes of exercise...it is only my 5432nd attempt. Yay me! haha. I think the invading of space won't be so bad...thank God C goes to be at 7:30 and dad by 8:00, or yes, there would be an issue. And really, who knows how much time dad has left with his health being so poor. I just want him happy.

That about does it for me for now, I have to gear up for our Louisville management being here all day on Wednesday for our "2013 Team Expectations" meeting. Don't give me any fluff, just do as you say you are going to do for pity sake.

Hidee Ho to all the lurkers...

Loves and hugs..

diyana 01-07-2013 09:35 AM

Happy Monday ladies -

I went to bed really early last night and still woke up tired. :dunno: And my morning fasting blood sugar yesterday was high and today was even higher. It was really good for a couple days. Maybe it's because of the pizza I've eaten the past two days. I know pizza with hand-tossed crust has a lot of carbs...but it's so dang good. :( I should just either switch to thin crust or eat it less frequently. :( My eating has been about 50% on track and 50% off track, and it's showing in my numbers. And I'm getting new blood tests done this Saturday. I guess I'll bite the bullet and start really eating healthier.

I was hoping to go back to the gym tonight, but since it feels like there's a Mastiff on my chest due to the bronchitis, I may wait a few more days. If I don't feel better by Wednesday, I'll go to the doc...that's the day she works late.

=====================

Ceejay - I hope the rest of the carpet has dried out by now. I never used to get highlights...but now I really like them. And I used to like light blonde...but then I realized it really faded out my features and made my rosacea stand out even more. The past few times, I've gone with strawberry blonde with blonde highlights, and it looks good on me and even tones down the rosacea. With your skin tone, I would recommend against all blonde, but I think a light to medium shade of brown with lighter highlights would look nice. :)

Laura - Good for you for being so diligent about the gym. I really want to get back to the gym soon. My ex even said that he would be okay with me picking Santa up later in the evening so I could go to the gym right after work and not have to worry about Santa barking and annoying my neighbors. I looked up the book "Room" on Amazon. It does look unnerving. I've got a lot of "self-esteem" type self-help books on my reading list right now, and for fiction, I'm listening to the audio book of "The Hunger Games" at night.

Annie - I got a laugh out of C's comment about living room s*x. It's good that dad's room is at the other end of the house. That was one inconvenience about when DMIL was visiting us...her room was right next to ours, so we had to be VERY quiet. I'm so excited for you to be seeing Jersey Boys! Sounds like an excellent time! Thanks for the kind words, sista. I have my "positive" moments and my not so positive...but most of the time, I'm feeling fairly optimistic and upbeat about the future. I gotta admit though...I am a bit cynical when it comes to love. Well, maybe cynical is too harsh..."guarded" or "gun-shy" is probably a better description. I do believe that there is someone out there who will love me like I deserve to be loved, but I'm still a bit wary of giving my heart to anyone. My counselor says she'd be worried about me if I wasn't a little wary.

Happy - I hope your foot pain eases up with your reduced hours. With my back, I know I couldn't take a job where I'd be standing all day. Heck, even for the short time I'm at the dog park, I scope out benches that have no snow on them so that I can sit for a couple minutes. Did DH get his appointment rescheduled yet?

Shad - I just love your photos. So nice that you have such a gorgeous view!

Mellie - Good for you for taking the Christmas goodies to the lunchroom. I hope the repairman gets there early so you can relax the rest of the day.

Ellen - I hope you're feeling better.

I suppose I should be getting some work done.

Much love and many hugs to all,
