Laura - You totally read my mind. I often (nearly all the time) think about how nice it would be to wake up and be already moved into my new place in CA, and have a great job and be settling into the new (warmer - LOL) chapter in my life. :) BTW, while I was on vacation in CA, I saw two movies: The Hobbit (excellent movie if you liked Lord of the Rings), and Parental Guidance with Billy Crystal, Bette Midler and Marissa Tomei - I thought it was a very cute, touching, funny movie.

happy2bme 01-03-2013 01:28 PM

Good morning all,

Woke up this morning to alot of "barking" outside. Sometimes the turkeys cluck, sometimes they bark. Apparently they were hungry and were trying to rouse King DH out of bed to feed them. They normally stay across the yard or circle the house and sit under the bedroom window but this morning they must have been full of p*ss and vinegar because they marched right up to the deck which they have never done before and also jumped on the garage roof which is next to the house. There are tracks in the snow on the roof so we can see just where they went. They were barking like a bunch of seals so when DH went out there in his big clompy boots and "yah hey dere" ugly winter hat and got them some seed, they all quieted down. And maybe some of them smiled as much as one can smile with a hard beak and no lips. ;)

DH was SUPPOSED to go to the doctor this morning and get a heart monitor so that he could record some data when he gets these racing episodes. He is to see a specialist on Jan 25. They called this morning just as he was getting ready to leave the house and cancelled the appointment. It's been so frustrating dealing with the medical practice. I know the specialist they have him scheduled with is a good one, would have been NICE if he had some info to give him prior to the visit as this will no doubt start the clock all over again with tests and such and 3 hour round trip rides back and forth to the hospital. DH is kinda crabby today. I'm glad I'm going back to work tomorrow. I'm sure he'll be thrilled (NOT) that we have to go and run some errands today.

I ordered a bunch of stuff from Bath and Body Works - soaps and such on a good price. It arrived yesterday totally frozen solid. Never seen that before. I took the paper packaging off and set the bottles back in the shipping box to thaw. Good thing I did that as both of the lotions cracked - eucalyptus spearment lotion all over everything. 2 of the soaps with shea butter in them separated into globules - looked like a lava light in a bottle ;) and those the soap separated from the moisturizing part, never to come together again. I called customer service since we aren't anywhere near their retail stores and they were very very nice. Replacements promptly shipped out. That's a place I like to do business with.

Ahh poor Mellie. I can't believe - well yes, actually I can - all the hassle with your chair. I don't understand, these places that deal with the chairs, don't they understand how important the chairs are to your mobility????? So frustrating. I hope you can cut to the chase quickly and get what you need. So you got a $1.29 raise? Ok, well I won't be complaining about my princely salary then. :dizzy: And don't eat those 50 cent giant gumballs - they are murder on the teeth - stick to the little ones  And we don't need to get a popcorn machine - we can buy the unpopped stuff from the store and make our own. It's a better grade than the usual microwave popcorn. But I'm not flavoring the stuff - you'll have to be happy with butter  :corn:

Michelle - I TOTALLY get your feelings of frustration and anger at having to start all over again, particularly as you say after such a long term relationship. And you are entitled to feel that way. Nothing I can say to make that easier except that there is some reason out there that says there is a reason for this and things need to change. Perhaps there is someone in CA who is just waiting for you to land at the airport. And the only reason I say to cut ties with the ex is because things have calmed down now BUT if the GF moves in and squawks because you are over washing clothes, or your stuff is "in the way" or a reminder of you - it could stir up the pot again and I would hate to see them be mean to you and hurt you all over again. I can't help but remember how Annie was sad and then one day C walked into the store with a load of Hostess products and a wink and a smile turned into something wonderful ;) :D :val2: :cloud9: You are a good person with a big heart - someone who will be lucky to have you might be sitting at his desk right now wondering if he will ever find anyone to make him happy. You two just need to find each other and hook up. Thanks for the review on Parental Guidance - it's at the movies now, I wasn't sure if that was going to be kind of corny.

Laura - thanks for your review too on New Year's Eve. You can't rent it, only purchase it and I thought that was too much money to risk on a movie that might be meh. I wasn't sure about This is 40. I was afraid it was one of those where the best parts are the trailers. Like you, I'd wait for a rental. We didn't get much snow - it's wierd. It snows all day long and doesn't amount to anything but a light fluffy dusting that blows away in the wind. Never seen anything quite like it. Try to stay awake at work. I was talking to a friend yesterday and her young daughter is a tell it like it is kid - she said the school system was crazy making them go back to school for 2 days this week - why not just give it the whole week off? I said - get ready for real life missy - lots of folks at work today wondering the same thing

Annie - thank you - now I can't get the song "I'm a WOOOOman" out of my head

DH just informed me he is ready to leave and run errands so if I want a ride I need to be ready in 10 minutes. Catch up later...

diyana 01-03-2013 01:45 PM

Happy - I hope your DH can get his monitor thing set up soon. How frustrating for them to cancel the appointment! Also a bummer about your bath products freezing! I'm glad they'll be replacing them. Thanks for the kind words....I know this kind of stuff happens for a reason....and I'm glad to be moving back to CA. I will definitely have my stuff out before GF moves in, and I won't be washing clothes there after she moves in either. The only thing I wasn't sure about was whether they'd still be ok with me dropping Santa off every day...and my ex said he discussed it with her and she's okay with that. I hope you get all your errands done. I loved the story about the bold, hungry turkeys.

ceejay52 01-03-2013 02:18 PM

Mel
:bravo: on speaking your peace.

Happy
Too funny about the turkey. I knew that ducks barked but not the turkey. Can you get a refund on the things from Bath and Body works?

Michelle
Hugs.

Laura
I know of some things in mom's box of stuff and I hate to get rid of it. I'm also thinking of this final move in a couple of years.

Annie
How are you today? Still shoveling snow or has it all melted?

Shad
Hi

---------
Not in a mood to do to much today. I need to do my laundry and get ready to go over to my bff's tomorrow in Jonesboro.
Totally disgusted. I went to pick up my lab work at the doctor's office here but he didn't check my cholesterol. That's the one thing I wanted checked. He wouldn't check my b12 level so I've decided that I'm not using him again unless I just have too. I'll make an appointment with the doctor in Jonesboro the same day I have to go to the dermatologist. I also want to ask the doctor in Jonesboro if he will change the dosage of my thyroid med. It's lower than the normal range. Think I'm getting to much.
Need to get up and get on with my day.

Shad 01-03-2013 09:46 PM

Morning all, (just)
Bit cool in the office this morning. Need to get out in the sun to appreciate how cool it is. Since it is nearly lunchtime, I'll go out shortly.

Mel - so sorry to hear about the chair drama. Hope it all sorts itself out sooner rather than later. What's with people these days.
Love it when others get angry for you and you turf them out of the house. It's all about me. Well why not. I will send some photos of Dsproglet shortly, when I get my laundry in order which could be a while since I appear to have a mountain of it.

Happy - turkeys everywhere. Serves the DH right. He shouldn't have fed them in the first place. His fault!!!! :nono:
Glad to hear that you still have a job. At least it gets you out of the house once in a while. I'd be going stir crazy if I was you.

Annie - shovelling snow, at least it is exercise, but I don't blame you for not enjoying it.

Michelle - It's hard to go through what you have been going through, but there are brighter times on the horizon as the others have said. For myself, I always think that it provides a time to get to know yourself, find out what you are capable of, and enjoy your own company. Once you find out your own positives, then you can sort out or get to know others of a like mind. The hardest part is the first part of the rest of your life where you don't realise just how capable you actually are. Problems always seem to arise when people dive into a new relationship directly after the old relationship.

Ceejay - Now you know why I don't like doctors. I have to find myself a new GP now that my regular is retired, and the one that the medical centre is pushing me towards is not my idea of a good GP. So I may have to look further away to get what I am looking for. Hope you have a good time in Jonesboro.

Laura - you and me both with another day another dollar. Still retirement is a bit far off yet to not work. You are doing well with the exercise. I have just started it all up again and hopefully will stick at it this time. :kickbutt: <--- I need someone to do this.

Missing someone - oh yes Ellen. Hope she is okay with the sinus and stuff.

Okay - better go get my skates on and toddle off to the mall and see whats what in beautiful downtown Darwin.

happy2bme 01-04-2013 09:31 AM

Good morning all,

The work bell rings and so I must go... would rather be sleeping in if the truth be known. ;) Will find out what my schedule is when I talk to the boss today. She said we will be slow and she's not opposed to closing the store a bit and that I'd have the shorter schedule that I'd been looking for all along.

Yesterday DH and I ran errands which including dropping off a big bag of aluminum cans we saved for the Humane Society - they sell them to raise money for the shelter. We also had a bunch of canned cat food we brought with us from TN that was good clear through next year. They were happy to have it as there are several older male cats who are on a canned food diet, including one old guy at the front desk they call Grandpa - they don't know exactly how old he is, just that he's way up there in years. He's deaf now but if you put your hand near the drawer of cat treats, you've got his attention. Of course we had to go see the rooms of kitties, pet a few and we got the tour and a gentle welcome if we would be so inclined to want to volunteer for a few hours a week ;) I do think I will do that in the spring once the weather gets better.

Shad - I don't think you'd go stir crazy in my shoes, you are more disciplined and would get more done. I remember when my Mom retired, she said that when she was working, she was more about being on and keeping to a schedule because she had to divide her time up. Once she retired, she told herself if it didn't get done today, it would happen tomorrow - and sometimes it did and sometimes it didn't. I probably spend far too much time on the computer - at least according to someone in this house I do. :s: But I agree I should plan out my time a bit better - notice I did not say spend it more productively as that is relative.

Mel - I'm relieved that you were able to get everything in order related to juice for your chair. I understand your hesitation to cut ties with a long term relationship, however they need to understand and act on - a sense of urgency when it comes to delivering the goods. I looked up We Five and some members of the band still do an occasional tour. They don't look bad for their age and as you can imagine, a group that sang in the 60s is pretty much the Grandmammas and the Grandpops now  I've seen a few groups sing on some specials on the PBS channels and I think it's a bit sad. Leave your youth behind, just like we have to. Sometimes the voice leaves you with age. But I'm sure that song will float in my head all day long. It is nice to hear YOU singing again tho. :encore:

Got my new eyeglasses yesterday. They are different. Still not sure I like them. The lady at the store said it's a more "youthful" look - I guess that officially makes me old except she was a good 15 years older than me but not once did she call me "dearie". I think I do see better out of them but every time I change lens shapes (as the frames change), it seems to take a bit of time for the eyes to adjust. I was able to read a magazine without a problem so that part of the glasses is working well.

Shad - so did you find anything of interest in downtown Darwin yesterday? Fear not, the weekend is upon you and so at least an extra day to explore. Did it ever stop raining or are you just in monsoon season? Here's your :kickbutt: for the day's exercise. Now get on with it.

Ceejay - Bath and Body Works has already sent out the replacement products that were damaged - I was impressed at their turn around. I'm surprised the doctor did not check your cholesterol although I have found that sometimes I need to ask them to mark that on the blood draws. I think the quality of care is falling downhill but don't let me get started on that.

Ah well look at the time. Finish the last sips of lukewarm coffee and jump into the shower. Sooner I get the day started, sooner it can end. Not really - stuck till 5pm

Have a good one chicks. Happy weekend.

Laura705 01-04-2013 10:53 AM

Morning all. TGIF. :carrot:

Michelle - I've never read any of the Lord of the Rings stories (though I bought The Hobbit from our library's book sale and it's still sitting on the shelf), and I never saw any of the other movies. I just don't think it's my thing. Just like Harry Potter and Twilight aren't either. Guess I'm just not much into sci-fi, fantasy, or vampire stuff. Parental Guidance appeals to me because I like the cast.

Happy - Wow, barking turkeys! :thanks2: Who'd a thunk? I don't think I'd want to go out with them on the warpath, er, the deck! Sorry dh's appointment was cancelled. How frustrating! I know he wants nothing more than to find out how to deal with the racing heart/palps. We no longer buy microwave popcorn either, we just make it using the seed. We buy ours from the same place that bf sometimes buys his cheddar popcorn from (also in WI). BTW, bf wanted to make his own cheddar popcorn, but it seems like he can't find a recipe. Any insider secrets you can pass along? In my mind the only way is with the powdered (dehydrated?) cheese, and that seems like it would be a PITA to source in the small quantities he would need. Anyway, bf makes popcorn on the stovetop with oil and butter. :corn: Every once in a while I make it in the microwave using the microwave popping bowl. Lovely you're getting nice fluffy snow, not the heavy, wet kind that packs down and turns hard and icy and is lethal to pedestrians and shovelers. Too bad about the order from Bath & Body Works, but great they're sending a replacement shipment. Hope this one comes unfrozen!!! Wonderful donations to the Humane Society. :) My sis volunteers at a thrift shop that supports an animal rescue organization, so I'll check with her to see if either the shop or the rescue can use the accumulation of dog toys we've gotten over the years that aren't appropriate for our dog - or just too excessive.

Ceejay - And ducks bark too???!! Learn something every day! Sorry the doc didn't run the cholesterol test for you. I still have to make another ob/gyn appt after their office lost my appointment. At least the mammo got done. Still debating switching gynes, but I better just use my current one this time and push off that decision another year. Enjoy your day in J'boro.

Shad - I totally agree with you re not jumping straight into another relationship right after one ends (and then there's those folks who like to overlap them, but I better not say anything or it'll get ugly fast :tape: ). Darn, too much more work to be done before retiring. Once that mortgage is paid off...oh, forget any thoughts about what might be done then, I'm sure all our money will be going into healthcare. Sigh. Enjoy your weekend and the cool and/or dry periods in Darwin while you can.

Mel - Glad you've got the battery thing sorted out. Hope your chair service can get the new chair taken care of to your satisfaction. All the years don't matter if they can't take care of you NOW!! Have a relaxing day today. :cloud9::goodvibes

Hellos to the rest of the Worldlies!!! Everyone have a good weekend!
--
Went to the circuit class last night and that was about it. Oh, and we put our new heated mattress pad on the bed. :cloud9: So glad to have that little luxury again. I could use a heated office chair right about now - my lower half is cold. It's very windy today and that last block walking right into it was cruel. I'll probably put my extra sweater over my lap to warm up my legs.

We're back to jeans days for the entire first quarter of this year. Nice because now I have pockets all the time. :D Many of my dress slacks don't have them. It's the little things sometimes.

Nothing much planned this weekend. Nothing fun anyway. My last exercise class will be the circuit class tomorrow morning. Grocery shopping for sure. Taking down the Christmas decorations (indoor ones, anyway). Ok, rant coming on...I so hate those store bought ornament boxes that consist of a bin with cardboard dividers. The dividers are simply a flat piece of cardboard that goes between layers, and then a cardboard grid that separates the ornaments. My beef is that I can't lift out an entire layer to get to the layer underneath! It assumes I'm using all the ornaments on each layer before moving on. If I don't, when I try to lift out a whole layer, ornaments fall all over. Grrr. So, I will perhaps continue with my project to make my own ornament dividers by getting some boxes from the liquor store and creating my own trays that can be lifted out of the bin without the ornaments falling all over. Okay, rant over.

The admin loaned me the dvd "Inglourious Basterds" (yeh, that's how it's spelled), so we'll watch that.

Okay, enough rambling. :blah: Back to work.

diyana 01-04-2013 04:36 PM

Hello ladies -

I know I'm still sick. How do I know? No, not just because my chest is still tight and I'm coughing and unable to breathe deeply....I know I'm still sick because I am cold....downright chilled....and I'm NEVER cold. Dang it....why the heck can't I have a good hot flash now when I need one?

I'm off work in 1/2 hour. I'll pick Santa up, take him for a walk, and then take a nice warm shower, put on some warm PJs, and eat a nice hot dinner under a cozy blanket. :cloud9:

I'm sure if I wanted to, I could leave Santa with my ex tonight...but I did that two nights this week, and I miss santa when he's not home. Plus, snuggling with a warm puppy helps keep a person warm. :) Not nearly as much as snuggling with a hot guy...but I've got to take what I can get.

Tomorrow, my ex and I are going to a memorial service. I just learned today that the brother of my ex's best friend passed away on the 26th. My ex was good friends with the man who passed away...and I was friends with him also. We're friends with the whole family. I saw a post on FB about the man's passing, and since my ex is no longer on FB, I called him to break the news. So very sad. My ex's best friend lost his wife to cancer last year...and now his brother.

annie175 01-04-2013 04:42 PM

Good Evening My Dear Worldlie Sista Friends....

I am posting from home as our internet at work sucked. Bare with me...may post in sections as this laptop has a mind of it's own.

We had our "Dad" meeting last night...I served Olive Garden's recipe of Pasta Fajole soup, salad similar to OG and bread. Everyone loved it. It ended up that I will take dad for 6 mos and my bro (from the band, and bestie) will take him for 6 mos. My other two bros do not have the space to accomodate. They are willing to take him for a couple of weeks as a break for us. I have mixed feelings but do not want to put my dad in assisted living as I know he would not be happy. And God love him, who knows how much time he has left. I do not want to regret making his remainder years happy. It won't happen for a month or two as we need to empty his house out and put it on the market. It is the house I grew up in so I have a sad place in my heart. Memories are mostly good. Will miss the feeling of my momma when I am there. Now I am down to one guest room as the other is going to be dad's room.....God love Curtis as he said, "and maybe at the end of our 6 mos we won't let him go". That man steals my heart. He is such a wonderful man.....still waiting on the flaw and the other shoe to drop...I know shut up....

HAPPY...let me know how the arch thing works. Even if not good I want a report. Yes, buy for others...No, do not....Poor DH, you would think they would of gave him more notic of the cancellation. What a bunch of jerks, mostly the doc. Probably got an invite to go ice fishing or something. What an a$$.

LAURA...you do me proud with your exercising. I am so jealous I do not have the motivation you have, good for you!

OMG...Sassy just went crazy...running all around the kitchen and living room like she just had an injection of caffeine. LMAO. Too cute.

MELLIE...better I be the talk of the laundry room than the talk of the bar, pub or town. Please erase my phone number off the walls. Have a great weekend. Enjoy Jen and Richie and the great times together. I am going to get my hair cut and DD is going with to get her hair cut. Then we are going to the pots and pans store. Le Gourmet Chef store (google it) then to Cs house as she is going to clean it up for sale and C is going to pay her for it.

SHADWICK....my life is not complete unless I am shoveling. I came home and finally shoveled the walk to the front door. It was only 2-3 foot deep. Went like a mad woman and had it done in about 10 minutes. haha...hope you enjoy Darwin this weekend. Looking forward to more pix.

CEEG...have fun with BF in Jonesboro....try not to think about work or any worries you may have....have a clear mind....xoxo

CHELLE....I love your attitude and keep up the positive beliefs...The most important thing is that YOU BELIEVE what you preach. You are doing a great job and in a much better place every day.....xoxo

Got to get off of here and start dinner....

Hello to all...Patty..Java...Ellen....

Love and hugs

upswife 01-04-2013 07:48 PM

MORNING CHICKS

Sometimes you wonder at the way things go.
Just when I thought life was beginning to suck 3 packages arrived.
The first one was Annie's magazines.
I will put them to good use over my relaxing weekend.

The second and third were a box of chocolate covered strawberries
and then a beautiful bouquet of flowers. "To Mel & Jen"
Both of them were from a woman I have never met.
About 25 years ago I found an ad in a magazine for face products from Japan.
Kind of like a "high end" Avon line called Noevir.
I called the toll free number and spoke to this Ann Marie.
She was trying to help me with my rosacea.
I had a bad breakout when I moved into this apt.
We spoke a few times.
She had sick relatives who have long since died. One was her sister.
We helped each other thru some tough times.
Each year we exchanged Christmas cards and I still use a few of their products and order online.
Well when the hurricane hit here....she was on vacation.
Then she called to see how Jen & I were doing.
She was worried with the pictures on the news.
We played phone tag...each calling the other when we were out.
I assured her we were fine and how sweet it was for her to even call.
I am so blown away that she and her hubby would send gifts.
I said to Jen when she came to get the flowers....
life is too short to be pissed off with this chair business.
It will get done one way or the other.
Now I am going to get off here & love my weekend :beach:
PS: We had a good time with the strawberries and dinner:hun:

Happy.....in time I hope the glasses feel good.
Every time I changed mine, my eyes had fits.
Also glad to hear your hours are shorter.
Would volunteering in the sheter bother your breathing?
Be careful with allergies & sinus.

Laura....I hated those flimsy layered storage boxes too.
Great idea....get a patent and sell them!!!
You must be happy they let you gals wear jeans.
I always found them cold in the winter. :brr:
I felt cold just reading about your windy walk!!

Michelle....sorry to hear about your friend's passing.
Hope you get rest & warm over the weekend.
Get well soon:getwell:

Annie.....I know that this has to be a very difficult time.
I am glad to see you are thinking positive thoughts.
Keep the good times & the good memories in your heart for later.
Curtis making that statement made me cry in happiness.
Yes....he is definitely a keeper:hug:
Thank you so much for the package!!!
We will all have a lot of good reading for sure
BTW~ I will go into the men's room and take your photo & pnone # off the wall :belly:

Ellen....sending good thoughts for healing for both of you

happy2bme 01-05-2013 12:55 PM

Good morning ladies,

Geez, I stopped reading the newspaper long ago because it was mostly crime and violence. Now I guess I have to stay away from the Internet too. Seems like the world has gone nuts - shootings, rapes, robberies. I do wonder if there's just too many people in the world.

I worked yesterday - we were moderately slow. My foot was really hurting bad - I am going to have to bite the bullet and go see the podiatrist. I did call but they are only in the office Monday to Thursday so I'll make an appointment on Monday. DH picked me up after work, we had a nice dinner out and went to the casino for a while. It was a nice "date" out. Today I am going to clean up and put away the Christmas stuff. I want to get my sister's Christmas gifts packed up and off to the post office. Mom's stuff along with my  "Christmas" cards went out on Thursday.. I am off until Tuesday and have short work weeks ahead - I think the most I work in January is 3 days in one week. It will be nice to be off - I must plan my time more productively. Picked up my paycheck for 3 days of work around Christmas - oh it was sad - trade off between cash and time off. I always said - one either has time or money but never both. I also want to clean out the refrigerator. I have bits of stuff I either need to make into a meal or toss. DH will be happy if he can look into the refrigerator and see the back of it ;)

Mel - what a great surprise you got! How nice of that woman to send you some cheer - just when you needed it. You are right about not letting the chair frustrations get to you too much. You are justified in being frustrated, get it over with and move on - if only the power of our frustration could move those mountains. When I was at the shelter, DH probably figured I'd walk out of there all red and blotchey and wheezing but that was not the case. I know that long haired cats are the ones who bother me the most so I tend to shy away from them. It is a consideration for me to go into a place like that, especially since the over the counter antihistamines are not as good as they once were. Just something to dabble with. I could always go help out at senior bingo on Thursday nights - they are ALWAYS looking for help. Yum on the strawberries. At least you got to enjoy those and I'm sure Jen was happy to get the flowers. Something to brighten up the apartment after we put away all the holiday stuff.

Laura - regarding the popcorn. At the store they use some cheese stuff that has to be melted and it comes in huge, industrial strength tubs. I could probably help more if not for my stubborn refusal to learn how to pop corn and flavor it at the store  Some people use the cheese powder that comes with the Kraft Macaroni and Cheese boxed mix - I guess you can't beat the price when it's on sale for 3 boxes for a dollar. Here's a link to a place Firehouse Pantry Store that sells a more concentrated/cheesy version of the Kraft Mac and Cheese powder. They have a couple of different cheese powders and it comes in reasonable sizes so you can try what looks interesting to you. Some people also used finely grated cheddar cheese and while I might be willing to try the more "dry" parmesan stuff (especially with some garlic powder) - I'm not so sure the cheddar would coat instead of just melting on top - like the popcorn version of scalloped potatoes :p I think it's a great idea to donate Coal's extra toys to the rescue organization. Our local grocery store makes up 5 and 10 dollar donation bags with products in them for both the local food shelf and the Humane Society. They have cat and dog bags. I think it's a great idea and I always get a bag or two when I go shopping. I know what you mean about having handy pockets in your clothes. Pants with pockets never seem to lay quite right or they have back pockets and who needs more lumps on your booty? Glad you get to wear jeans - like Mel, I find them to be particularly cold in the winter too although DH does have 2 pairs of flannel lined jeans which are nice. They just don't make those for the ladies any more. Yay on finally getting the heated mattress pad - with the coldest of the winter months ahead, you got it just in time. Nothing like a cold pillow and a toasty warm bed for good sleeping :cloud9: And when we get the commune going, I'm voting you the fitness coach as none of us seem to want to exercise as much as you do :o I'm so much better at food than exercise. :^:

Ellen - sorry to hear you caught that holiday flu that's going around. I hear it was pretty bad too and I guess it was a strain that evaded the flu shot. Even people up here were talking about getting sick. Hope the kids were able to avoid it as that would be NO FUN for you.

Annie - I totally understand where you are coming from with Dad  especially the part about not knowing how much time he has left. :( I think about the same things - particularly when my Mom is driving me batty. It's good that you can divide time for dad between 2 houses as long as he's ok with that. Gives everyone a break - which you need when you move someone in like that no matter how much you love them. And it gives you a chance to have some private time too. I'm sure if Mom came here DH would take to living out in the back woods during the summer ;) ;) And I can only imagine how sad it will be to get their house ready to sell - all those memories. I try not to think about that too. Probably I think tho would be easier to do it when they are alive rather than at their passing. I hope you all can be happy with this new arrangement. I'm sure he will love the attention and fussing. And yes, Curtis does indeed sound like a kind and wonderful guy. I'm glad you found each other and *slap* (but a gentle one) he's there because you deserve him, there is no shoe to drop, 'k? I did try those insoles but considering how squooshy they are, once you have them on, they are actually uncomfortable. Even with my Crocs. Feels like something hard under the ball of the foot and I'll be darned if I can figure out what it is. It might be too that I have squished all the fat out of my foot and no longer have any padding on it (figures it's the only place on my body that doesn't have fat anymore) So... while I totally appreciate the thought - I'm thinking maybe they are a bit too thick so I'm not sure I would recommend them over the gel or cushioned shoe inserts. But THANK YOU so much for thinking of me

Michelle - hope you have a good weekend with Santa and watching your football team. Relax and get rid of the last remnants of that cold before it turns into the flu. Make a pot of soup. Yum. Or have a stiff drink. Yum yum. That's really sad about the ex's BF's personal losses. It's good that he has people who care about him to support him.

Ceejay - hope you enjoy your days off.

You too Shad - are you weekending in Darwin this week?

I think I've spent enough time here. Off to box up the Christmas stuff... have a good weekend ladies.

Thursday night I had poured some liquid Draino in the washing machine drain. I had to take out the hose to do that. Next morning I decided to run the clean cycle on the washing machine. Ooops, I forgot to put the drain back in the pipe and water went every where. I had to use all of my towels and still didn't get all the water up. If I had not of had an 11 o'clock appointment to get my hair cut I would have cancel the trip. Most of the water has dried up, even check under the washer and dryer to make sure there wasn't a puddle there. I had one area on the hall carpet that's still wet. I need to shampoo the carpet so that will be done a bit later in the day.

Mel

Good Evening Everyone!

Just know I hate posting from home....anyway....

HAPPY...good to know the feetie thingys suck, won't buy those for anyone else. I did see another thing you might try...Next time I am in CVS I may get that....as I have 22.50 in extra bucks (like free money). Yes, I love my dad but it will be a challenge. He is NOT as tidy...clean...as I....Your work weeks to come (3 days) will be a blessing and time for you to get other things done, even if it is just lounging in life....which we all deserve and don't do enought of.

ELLEN..you poor thing....you have so much going on in life you do not need the flu...prayers that the lil ones do not catch what you and DH had. I got my flu shot and hope I am covered. Hope work goes quickly for you! Hugs.

Hello to all my sista chickies.....loves and hugs

CEEG...OMG...I am laughing with you and not at you as I have experience the same thing of the drain from the washer not being intact. What a stinkin mess. Hugs sister.

MELLIE...isn't it funny when we think life just sucks, good things happen and make us reconsider our selfishness. God has blessed me so much and yet I gripe. Glad you got my package and it will go to good use...can you tell I am a magazine addict? Yikes on the $$ spent but such a cheap indulgement. Enjoy!!
