NOTHING NEW AND EXCITING HAPPENING HERE.
THAT'S A GOOD THING.
JEN AND I DID SOME BANKING & BILL PAYING.
WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE ALARMS, THIS IS GOING TO BE 2 DAYS MORE JUST FOR ME.
RICHIE WILL PROBABLY DO THE COOKING.
IF NOT I BOUGHT A FROZEN MEATLOAF AND HAVE TATERS.
THIS WEEKEND IS DEDICATED TO PREVENTIVE BED BUG MATTERS
AND MELODY'S SANITY.
I FORGOT TO SAY I SAW JOHN ON THURSDAY. HE MET THE BUS WHEN WE CAME BACK.
BROUGHT MY BASKET FULL OF GROCERIES UPSTAIRS.
HE WAS VERY MISTY EYED AND LEFT. HARDLY SPOKE A WORD.
BUT.....HE IS MUCH HAPPIER AND HEALTHIER. JUST LONELY.
I MUST REMEMBER TO CALL HIM.
HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND.

PLEASE TAKE GOOD CARE OF YOURSELF....JAKE NEEDS HIS GRAMMIE!!!

LAURA....EVERYTIME YOU GO NEAR THE DOGGIE HE'S GONNA RUN AND HIDE! POOR GUY. LAST BIKE RIDE. YES THE WEATHER AND DARKNESS ARE SETTING IN. I FINALLY GOT TO SEE SOME LEAVES TURNING AND THEY WERE BEAUTIFUL. GUESS WHERE THEY WERE???
THERE IS A MALL PARKING LOT ON THE RIVER FOR THE UPPER CLASS.
THEY PLANTED A BUNCH OR TREES ALL OVERE THE PARKING LOT.
NOW THEY ARE BIGGER AND HAD A BEAUTIFUL DISPLAY THIS AUTUMN.
I TOLD THE SENIORS WE'RE IN THE COUNTRY! LOOK AT THESE LEAVES!!
THEY CRACKED UP. HOPE YOU GUYS ALL HAD A GREAT DINNER

HAPPY......I AM SO SAD FOR BOTH OF YOU. WE HAD A SIMILAR CITUATION BEFORE WE MOVED HERE.
DIABETES IN A CAT JEN GREW UP WITH. SENDING YOU AND DH HUGS
YOU DID THE RIGHT THING.

CEEJAY.....SAFE TRAVELS AND HAVE A NICE TIME WITH THE BFF AND THEN THE UNCLES.

Morning all,
Hope we are all feeling great this morning - or should I say since we are working reverse psychology here - hope we are all feeling fraught this morning.

One good bit of news this morning. Qantas loves me. I have a message from them stating that because of the inconvenience I suffered with the strikes and the lock outs etc. etc. etc. and because I am such a loyal customer, I can have a free flight anywhere within Australia or between Australia and New Zealand. Seems that I might go home for Christmas after all. I will check with the family and see what I can do. I did look at the flights last week and cursed because they were so expensive around that time. Things going on at work may still stop the proposal but lets not worry about that just yet.

Today is more of the same as yesterday, however I will have to do some shopping so I won't get to the garden until later in the day. I need some basics and some veges. And a trip to the plant shop for some roo poo and mulch. I've just about eaten out the freezer with all the frozen soup and stirfrys. Now I need to get into the vege patch and sort out what to put in for the summer. Greens will definitely be in, probably beans and maybe some tomatos ???? maybe and corn again. All the rocket and spinach went to seed so I may already have some things growing under the wilderness. I need to get out there and see.

Amaranth - nice of you to drop in. Do so as often as you like. Always nice to get to know new folk.

Mel - Glad to know that John dropped in on you. He has not planned his retirement well. However we can forgive him since he was sick. Hope you have a quiet weekend - would make a change. What makes a car park up market?????? If Richie is doing the cooking, I think I will invite myself over. What's on the menu Richie???

Michelle - I've got all fingers for a good result from the back procedures. Meantime get out there and do as Happy says walk a little further, do the stepper and/or the zumba and see if you can lose some weight between now and then. It can only help. I'll join you in the clean eating and exercise since I need to lose about 5K before Chrismas. It would be very nice.

Annie - Hope everything is coming together for you and C. Sounds like little monkey is holding his own and will be up and running shortly. Get that bp down too. Probably only needs gentle exercise and some quiet space with your loved ones.

Laura - has Coal given up the pong yet? Such a revolting smell. I remember smelling it when I was in Canada with Carla (who is probably lurking right now) and with Ruthxxx. Poor animal. Whose twisted sense of humour gave the animal that stink?

Ceejay - happy travels and be safe. Hope all works out with the friend and her friend living together. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. We can only listen and help try to sort out the problems when they arise.

Happy - Hope you are feeling somewhat better about your decision today. Always a hard one, but at least you won't need to worry about the long trip with her. Lordy, I would hate to take Sunday on a long trip. One of us would be insane at the end of it.

Okay - first load of laundry done. Only about 5 more to go and then the sheets off my bed and the doona cover. Doona time is over. Time to go back to a blanket now. We are only getting down to about 18 overnight now. Let me see thats about .............66F. DS2 is stirring. Better get the shower first before he decides to spring into spring so to speak. He wants to build the new extension on the house. I'm a bit worried, but he is very capable, just not good with measuring. I will however get the professionals in to do the slab.

Hi guys,

Thank you each and every one of you for your good thoughts about Boo Yesterday was really hard for me. I kept feeling like I killed Boo even though I know in my heart it was what we had to do and best for her since she was quite sick and this would have been so traumatic for her. Still I feel guilty. Could not sleep last night - finally took one of my Actifeds that I am hoarding (I think it expired in 2000 but it still works somewhat!) and fell asleep on the couch close to 4am. DH woke me at 9 - he has some stuff to take to Habitat for Humanity and needed help. There is way too much to be done, I don't have time for sleepy. We got our new memory foam beds last night. DH said he slept well - not sure if he will like the softer mattress but he was talking to one guy at the furniture store who said as he got older and had back problems and nerve issues, the hard mattress made it worse instead of better. DH said that was an interesting point of view so he'd consider that. Then I realized I made a big oofduh and ordered the wrong size sheets from Kohls. Our bed is what they call a split king - 2 twin extra long mattresses. I ordered sheets in a California King thinking that California twins are longer mattresses and this would be a double sheet set. But NO. It's for a single mattress. So we had beds but no sheets. Off to Bed Bath and Beyond. Guess I'm going to find that I will have to order sheets online since there is a very limited selection of twin extra longs in the store. But we did find 2 sets - and that's what mattered. Darn because the Wamsutta sheets from Kohls are REALLY nice and soft - and wouldn't you know it, they don't make those in twin XLs Also had lunch with my friend from work for the last time. She gave me a heated throw (blanket) - said she imagined me sitting in a chair reading and watching the snow fall and this would take the chill out! Darn tootin' it will!!!! She also gave me a pretty glass picture frame that says something like "Retirement is the start of life...". I have to try and remember when we get up to WI to take a picture of the first sunrise up there (although we will probably be soooo tired from our trip up we will oversleep). Would put that first sunrise picture in the picture frame as the new start to our lives. Everything is taking 2 to 3 times longer than I am planning for, so I am getting behind. I have some errands to run but may only do one today and leave the rest for Monday. The house is a mess with things here and there and I have to get them organized and start packing. The new buyers are doing their final inspection on Monday so I have to make sure they aren't wading through piles although there will be packing boxes everywhere. And that's my story...

Aw Mel - poor John. I'm sure he will forget the grump quickly and miss the people shortly. It was nice of him to help you out. I think that's the thing about retirement - people forget they will lose alot of the people interaction. What's this about preventing bed bugs? How do you do that? That's a funny story about getting your autumn color thanks to the foo foo parking lot hey - take it any way you can get it! Trees are turning quickly here too. At least I got to see some color before I left but the leaves are not hanging around long. The driveway and patio are ankle deep already.

And all I remember of the children's rhyme was:
To market, to market to buy a fat pig,
Home again, home again jiggety jig!
If there is deep meaning in that - it's lost on me

Shad - glad that you and your baggage got home safely together. Has the mess in the airports calmed down? I love gerbera daisies but tried twice and could never get them to live for me. Guess we will all be doing some cleaning this weekend.

Ceejay - where are you getting your energy from? The B12 shot? I sure could use some of that. Hope you have a nice lunch with the uncles. Are you getting some nice color up your way? I will give you one last wave and horn toot as we drive by on Friday.

Ok, so here it is, 14 hours later and I didn't realize that I minimized the screen and didn't finish this. Now it's time for bed. Will catch up with the rest of you tomorrow. Or later today I suppose since it's already Sunday.

GOOD MORNING CHICKLETES

I JUST WANT YOU TO KNOW THAT'S WHAT MY HOUSE LOOKS LIKE.
IT'S ALL JEN'S FAULT. IF I WAS IN THE CLOSET SORTING
THATBI MIGHT AS WELL GET ALL THE DECOS OUT & UP.
YA DON'T HAVE TO TELL ME TWICE. AND BESIDES....I NEEDED IT.
CHEERED ME UP NO END WHILE WATCHING THE MARATHON OF
HALLMARK CHRISTMAS MOVES THIS WEEKEND.
CAN WE SAY THIS IS A WEEKEND BEFITTING THE OF CHRISTMAS?
I ALSO DID ALL MY RECYCLING AND COOKED MY OWN BEEF DINNER.
THAT'S WHT'S ON THE MENU SHAD....STEAMED ASPARAGUS, ORZO, RICE PILAF AND A ROASTED BEAST!

THE WEATHER IS SKETCHY FOR THIS MONTH SO THE KIDS DECIDED TO CLOSE UP THE TRAILER
AND BRING BACK THE NEEDED ITEMS LEFT BEHIND.
LAST WEEKEND THEY NEVER MADE IT BECAUSE OF THE STORM.
IT STARTED SO EARLY OUT THERE THAT THEY STAYED HOME.
MAYBE ALL FOR THE BEST. I AM ENJOYING A VERY QUIET WEEKEND WITH ONLY THE ASSORTED SMOKE ALARMS.
I THINK MAYBE A REST TODAY AND MORE MOVIES. WISH I HAD SOME EGGNOG.

HAVE A GREAT DAY!

HAPPY...IF THERE IS A DEEP MEANING IN THAT RHYME IT IS LOST ON ME TOO! ROFLMAO
HOW NICE OF THE FRIEND TO GIVE YOU GIFTS TO TAKE WITH YOU & KEEP YOU COZY.
LOVE THE SUNRISE IDEA!!!
HOPE THE PACKING GOES FASTER.
THE DAY IS DRAWING NEAR,
I AM SURE THE INSPECTORS WOULD EXPECT TO WADE THRU BOXES....YOU'RE MOVING!!
SENDING MORE HUGS....JUST BECAUSE

SHAD....WHAT A NICE SURPRISE THE FREE FLIGHT WAS!!!
AND WHAT PERFECT TIMING TOO!!! HOPE A VISIT TO NZ ALL WORKS OUT.
IT WOULD BE SO NICE TO SPEND THE HOLS WITH THE FAMILY!

SOUNDS FUNNY YOU LOOKING FOR VEGGIE PLANTS AND US SHOVELING.
THOUGH OUR SNOW HAS LONG MELTED. WE'RE IN THE 60'S LIKE YOU NOW.
I FEAR THE MOTIVATION FOR JOHN'S "RETIREMENT" WAS AS WE SUSPECTED...
TO GET A PAY RAISE THINKING THEY WOULD FEAR HIS LEAVING.
WELL IT JUST DIDN'T WORK. THEY TOSSED HIM ASIDE LIKE AN OLD SHOE.
NO ONE SHOOK HIS HAND OR SAID GOOD LUCK.
JUST ME AND THE OFFICE.
THE KIDS & I GAVE HIM AN EEL SKIN WALLET AND A FEW BUCKS.
THE OFFICE GAVE HIM GIFT CARDS.
OURS WAS THE ONLY PERSONAL GIFT HE GOT. VERY SAD.
NONE OF HIS FRIENDS GAVE HIM A THING. CRANKY POLITICIANS.
IT'S HARD TO FIND OUT YOU REALLY ARE EXPENDABLE.
ARE YOU BACK AT WORK ALREADY?!?!

WAVING TO MY WORLDLY SISTERS.
IT LOOKS LIKE OUR YEAR WILL BE ENDING ON A BETTER NOTE THIS TIME.
NEW HOME, NEW BABE, NEW BOYFRIEND, MIL IS COMING SOON.
lOTS OF B12 ENERGY, FREE PLANE TICKET, SKUNK SMELL IS LEAVING
WHAT MORE COULD WE ASK FOR?!?!?!?!

My week end was tiring. My bff wasn't expecting her room mate till the 19th but she called at 9 p.m. Friday and stated that she'd be back Saturday around 3 p.m. There were some words over the phone that I could hear that didn't sound very good. I'm really not sure that this arrangement will work out at all. That meant bff and I spent until 1.30 a.m. unloading some boxes and stacking some other boxes from the third small bedroom to her room. She was still asleep at 10.30 a.m. on Saturday when I left to go to Paragould. She worked as hard as I did.

I actually got to see some fall color too.

Shad
The airlines did the right thing in offering you a free ticket. They said on the news not long ago that the prices would be higher during the holiday's.
what kind of an addition are you going to add to the house?

Mel
You reminded me that I have a frozen meatloaf in the freezer. It's prepackaged so I don't know how good it will be but I'm going to try it.

Happy, Michelle, and Laura Hope you've had a good week end.

Thanks for the welcomes, happy2bme and ceejay52! :wace:

I might have once been Amarantha Queen of the Walking Poles. I've been posting on 3FC and around the diet site internet for a goodly time and have used a variety of user names. I used to be a reporter and liked to tell about my weight loss journey in fantasy terms for fun, facts in a different way. I actually was into walking poles once so who knows, might of lol.

I like the ring of Queen of the Stardust Ballroom.

Good night, all. Ceejay, hope you have lots of time to catch up on sleep this week from your tiring weekend.

There's more to it than meets the eye between bff and room mate. Goes back to bff's first divorce. I've forgiven her for my part but there is still a shield that I put up when I go for a visit.

Happy
Are you packing this week? Time will fly by this week.

-----
My sewer backed up on me again last night. I've called the land lord Thursday and told the office about a couple of things. I'm waiting for them to open so I can call again for this. It usually happens in the bathroom but this time went all the way back to the kitchen. UGH.

Good Monday Morning All...

Got up Saturday morning and baked sissy a "birthday" apple pie...she turned 26. Also baked her some peanutbutter cookies with peanutbutter, regular and peanut m&ms in them for her birthday. Then cleaned house till 3pm....Left for the hospital to see lil monkey...he is up to 4lbs 5 3/4 oz. Still having trouble with the breathing. If he doesn't get his breathing together by the 18th of November, he will NOT be home for Thanksgiving. Had to put him back on the oxygen to help him breathe.

Went to my cousin's house about an hour North of Indy for lunch on Sunday. Had not seen one of them for 30 years. It was a great visit and her house was a log cabin type, actually an old barn converted into a house. So very cool. My cousin from Louisiana made jambalya (sp) the real south kind...yum....cornbread, potato salad, apple pie and pumpkin pie for dessert. I took some of the cookies I made.

MELLIE...just for you babe...my son and his gf bought their Christmas tree over the weekend and put it up. It is his favorite time of year. Good luck with the seniors and voting tomorrow. I am torn on the mayoral race here and still undecided.

SHADDIE...glad you made it home safely and Yahoooooooo on getting the free plane ticket. You just never know when something great is going to flop into your lap.

HAPPY...so sorry about Boo. I cried 3 mos after we lost Lizabeth our doggie. Of course I cried, I am such a big baby. lol

CEEJAY...best stay out of the fued between your two friends, never get caught in the middle of that crap cause they end up getting along and hate you for siding with one or the other. Safe travels.

CHELLE...hope you had a great weekend, saw on FB your upbeat spirit and feeling good. I will take it and run. Have a good day sista friend.

LAURA...must of been a busy weekend or I miss something, don't see a post from you. Hope it was a good one.

Welcome Amarantha.

Got to get busy.

Love and hugs
