Hi everyone,
Jojo- I hope your feeling better, I had bad heartburn through my whole pregnancy, it was awful! Donna- I get numb in my hands and arms also - it actually started when I was pregnant and then got better towards the end. My doctor said it was carpel tunnel, so I wore wrist braces and it helped, especially at night when it hurt the most. It's now started coming back and I can even feel it in my toes sometimes. You should get it checked. ----------- I decided to challenge myself the past couple of days. I did manage to get my exercise in on Tuesday night after the kids were in bed. I did 1 hour of aerobics on my wii fit plus and then another 30minutes of toning exercises with the toning accessories I have. Then I did the same last night, except I did an hour and a half of aerobics on the wii fit plus and another hour of toning. I feel great! I think the evening is the best time for me to fit the exercise into my schedule and I can hardly wait for tonight :) I even went shopping today and bought myself an new jacket and a pair of runners. Spent a good amount but I figure it'll be worth it in the end! Hope everyone is having a good week! |
Well, I stayed up too late and got up late and I did wake up to TOM, so now I know why I was retaining water. It's been so wonky. I'm avoiding salt now like the plague.
Still not feeling too hot on top of all that. Everyone keeps telling me I'm stressed and now I'm starting to believe them. I'm slowly starting to get organized at home. I hope to be done this weekend. I'm doing it basically to get rid of clutter in my life and so I can concentrate on my boys and family time and myself when I can. Just have to make sure I got to bed early. Creativemomof2 - Can I ask your name? Yes, I have had it checked. I also had the wrist braces and they helped a little. I'm told to lose weight and I'm working on it, it usually helps to relieve the pressure from there. |
. Hi ladies,
Another crappy day today! The dog in the picture is a French bulldog I breed them that is my baby of the 5 she is 4 months old.Didn't do my walk today as went to hubby's doctors appt today with him.I am doing really good on no bread and watching what I eat. This week has been a struggle how ever maybe because of TOM Donna/Christine~I have that also I got it while pregnant with the twins I had last year and still have it (Had them dec 09)It hasn't gotten better still the same something I think I will have to live with for the rest of my life. JJ ~Welcome back hope that scale treats you good tomorrow. |
Thanks Cinm...you all seem so optimistic and I'm so down because of the weight and just can't seem to get going. I feel so bummed that I'm stuck where I am and can't seem to get out! what do you guys do if you ever end up where I am?
Advice is great...I'm listening...let me have it!!;) |
:hug:to everyone here who have family that are ill; our family has been through the same thing more than once (one of my uncles just passed in July) and it was very tough on his family & siblings ...
A while back, I had some numbly, tingly thing going on in my hands, esp at night in bed -- but thankfully that has gone away. I only get it now when I have lain on my arms/hands too long or after holding them in one place for two long; it's a circulation thing as we get older, I think. So I get up and go for a short walk around the house to iron out the kinks ... Spent the morning doing weekly house chores: washroom, vacuuming, and the bed linens ... but not all at once. I took my time and had breaks in between, but my legs are very tired right now. After posting, I will put them up with a big, hot cuppa green tea. :D Just wanted to share that my weekly menu is very flexible and is structured to give me an idea, but also give me choices as well. Then, on the bottom of the menu is a list of our favorite dinner meals. Here's a sample of what I mean ... SUNDAY ~ roast chicken, turkey; OR other (beef, pork, or ham) MONDAY ~ pork chops; meatless; leftovers; casserole TUESDAY ~ fish w/salad & veggies; OR leftovers WEDNESDAY ~ pasta day with hamburger or other THURSDAY ~ baked or bbq chicken; OR fish with salad, veggies FRIDAY ~ fun meal: whatever you want; ie pita pizzas SATURDAY ~ optional night; bbq; kids pick; anything easy We had a bit of :sunny: in the early AM for a very short while, then big clouds rolled in and it :rain:. Didn't get up town so will go tomorrow for errands and shopping. Hope you all have a fab Friday too ... Rosebud :flow2: |
Rosebud, I like your menu. It looks varied and flexible. The bbq's sound yum!
Donna, I hope you feel better! I had numbness in my index and pinky for almost three months at one time. I thought it was carpal tunnel, but I don't know if that is what it was. I ended up going to an acupuncturist because it was cheap and I was in Asia. It was gone in a few months. I am not sure if it was a pinched nerve or carpal tunnel. creativemom, I'm glad to hear that you like the wii. I was thinking of looking into it myself. Can you tell me more about how it works? What type of programs they have with it? JJ, sorry to hear you are feeling down! It looks like you've already lost 12 pounds. Good stuff! Are you exercising? Do you think you can increase your exercise or tweak your diet? Are you on a specific program? I know for me, I eat less calories if I'm eating too many points. I should talk as I haven't increased my exercise to where I want to be yet. Just some suggestions for you! Don't give up! -- Thanks for the concern on the heartburn, ladies! I'm feeling much better today. The Galvesgon (sp?) that I took yesterday, and the night before must have helped. I was taking Malox and that wasn't helping. I have never had that so bad before and I was getting concerned. I have heard that heartburn/indigestion is horrible when you are pregnant, and I can't imagine going through that. Tomorrow is Friday! Have a great weekend everyone! :) |
Hi JJ! I was bummed the other night. I grew outta my fat jeans this summer and I'm back at university with all these 20 year old tiny beauties. I shouldn't compare but there you go. I've spent the past couple of weeks on campus feeling invisible and old and fat. Anyways I was in bed and it seemed like there was nothing I could do about it right then and there and I felt hopeless. gah. That's overly dramatic I guess but what are you going to do in the middle of the night, right? So all I could do was put a positive spin on it for myself and say I'd already started the plan again even though physically I was just trying to get to sleep. Does that sound stupid? I just have a hard time doing anything unless my head is in the game as well. Well anyways I don't think that's advice I guess I just wanted to share that I've been feeling a bit bummed too and all I could do was start with some mental plans and a positivity. I hope that doesn't sound all preachy and stuff. I hope you'll feel better soon! Hugs. T

Thanks GE&T..you seem to be feeling the same as me. At least I'm not alone in my misery! But you are so right! We are the only one who has the ability to change ourselves and so we cannot blame anyone! Some of the proverbs or sayings people have with their signature are so very true and thought provoking. There's one that says something like...Being fat is hard, losing weight is hard, keeping it off is hard, so pick your hard! SO TRUE!
Also thanks to JoJo for your kind words. I hope I can also be a support to others as so many of you are. the scale was not so good to me today. I'm up to 242!! argh!! I think I might pick up the 30 day shred today and get started on that. Anyone doing it here in Canada? |
Hi Ladies!
Well weighed my self this am and it's at 202 :carrot::carrot:I am down 8lbs in 16 days.I also know the scale is right as hubby went to the doctor yesterday and got weighed and it was right on.Went for my morning walk as it wasn't raining and extended it some more.Off to do Jillian:dizzy:god its a killer. JJ~I am doing the 30 day shred with weights it is a killer you really get a good work out.I do see a diffrence in my tummy, breasts and legs.I have not mastered all the exercise and can not do some for as long as she does but I do what I can and get through it .The first day I did it I did not do it for another 3 days as I was so sore and she says on her web site not to do it if you are sore cause your muscles are stressed.Let me know if you get it.Sorry to hear the scale went up just re focus and start moving.I get up almost every morning and say I am not going for my walk and then I just do it.I just think I want to look like Jillian Michaels, pink or fergie I think it helps and when I am walking I listen to pink and I can see her in her videos and man she has a good body.I defiantly feel a lot better and I can't wait till people really notice. If you buy the video I mentioned you need one weight 3 or 5 lbs kettlebell or dumbell tey use both in the video. |
Jojo- the wii is actually a really fun way to get yourself moving. The sport games are quite a blast; they allow you to play the sport as if you were playing for real except your playing right out of your living room with either a friend or family member or a virtual opponent.
What's also interesting is that you get to create what is called a mii, which is a virtual you in a 3D cartoonish way. Once you've created a mii you'll have the option to select your mii for every motion game on your wii. There are all kinds of sports from bowling, to water sports to even boxing! Aside from the sport games you can purchase the wii fit. They have the wii fit and the wii fit plus; I would recommend the wii fit plus as it is an upgraded version of the wii fit and has many more activities included in the bundle. The wii fit (plus or regular) comes with a balance bord which you set on the floor across your motion sensor that is placed on your tv stand or atop your tv. The program will do an initial body test that will measure your BMI, you input your height, age, etc and it will check your weight. Then your given the option to set a goal (10kg max) to either gain or lose weight, and you have the option to set a time frame for either 2 weeks or a month. The program recommends you to do a daily body test that will measure you and record your weight and BMI, although I find I don't like doing the test every day and rather stick to it weekly because I drive myself crazy otherwise. Aside from measuring BMI and Kg... there are a number of fit games you can do using your mii from Aerobics, strength training, yoga, balance games and training plus. There are games such as an obstacle course which will allow you to walk on your balance board in order to make your mii walk, and squat to make your mii jump over obstacles. There is also a rhythm boxing game (my favorite) that I have learned really works the abs! Its a set of punching movements along with foot work that will be dictated and demonstrated by a mii trainer for each set that you will follow. Another one I like is the hula hoop, quite easy when its the basic one, but quite hard when you unlock the advanced one which will require you to circle your hips to the right side for 5 minutes and then the left side for 5 minutes. Great for the abs though. There are step aerobic routines and running as well as cycling and many more. These are all things you can do without the wii but what makes doing it on the wii more interesting and fun is that you get to see your mii moving as you do.:cb: |
I am proud to say that I did my exercises again last night and am going to do them again this morning! My bf is home today so he is going to watch the little one. I have reached a total calorie burn of 800 per workout session and am aiming to reach 1000 as my next goal. So I am thinking I will stick to this routine for now and try to up it again next week. I am starting to feel almost every muscle in my body and I can even see them in certain areas when I flex :D

Woohoo!!way to go! That's my next goal:strong: |
I love my Wii. The sports is fun and the fit plus is great. I also have Active and love that one. I haven't done it in awhile but you can do the 30 day challenge or pick different types of circuits. It comes with a leg piece that you put the nunchcuk in and hold the remote. You also had a resistance band and it takes you through a circuit from upper body(bicep curl, shoulder press) to lower body (squats, lunges) to walking/running. This makes me sweat like I've never sweated before. It's a great workout. I think I'll have to dig that out tonight, now that I'm thinking about it. I have The Biggest Loser as well but haven't used it yet so I don't know the set up.
I've been a hormonal and emotional mess the last two days. I've been peeing like crazy and all that water weight is starting to come off as I've been avoiding salt as well. So the scale was finally down this morning. Yay! But because I was emotional and was angry at my H for not being a communicator I went to a girlfriends and had a drink and a cigarette. Which I've been avoiding but I'm not having any cravings. All evening I kept saying I should go for a walk and I wish I had! I have a ladies night coming up on Saturday, there is usually food and drinking along with our games, so I think I'll buy a big bottle of perrier water and have lemon with that or something and bring a healthy snack. |
Thanks JJ! It feels really really good!
Donna- what is the biggest loser one? Is that also for the wii, or is it on dvd? I'm open to trying anything at this point, I've never been in the mood to work out like I have been this week. It's starting to feel like a drug, like I must do it and keep going. I just finished a 2 hour workout on the wii and stopped because my bf told me that I'm going to kill my self if I don't take a break, so that's what I'm doing but plan to do more tonight. One of me worst habbits = SMOKING! |
Yes, The Biggest Loser is for the Wii. I'll try it out this weekend and let you know what it's like.
