JOJO ~ I am in NORTHERN Ontario, a little north of TIMMINS, so we have had snow already, but it melts quickly. We had :sunny: for most of the weekend so it's gone; and today we had more :rain: but it is turning cold out there and it kinda looks to me like the rain may have turned to snow again.
They are forecasting either rain and/or wet snow for this week with one day being mostly :sunny: so we will take advantage of that day when it comes. It is colder this year than last, but we did get up our Halloween decos the last two afternoons and they look nice. I overdid it a bit in the cold and had sore feet & cramping (CHARLIE HORSES) last night and this AM (yowsa, yowsa, yowsa ... do they hurt or what?). We went to vote in our municipal elections this morning, so took a tylenol before I left and that helped me a lot. I did get to use the lift (small elevator) but there was quite a bit of walking back and forth as they somehow lost our names becuz we moved from the country to town 2 years ago. We weren't the only ones -- that was the biggest line-up in the place ... ALANNAH ~ I find the changing seasons affect me the same way; esp when it's wet, damp, windy, and cold all at the same time. I feel chilled to the bone; and find myself putting layers of clothes on, drinking hot tea or chocolate; putting the furnace up; using my small electric heater more; putting lots of extra blankets on the bed; and a thick, fleece throw on my couch too. See, you are not alone at all ... ;) Once the winter is here for good (in the north), it changes to a DRY cold so it doesn't feel as bad; and you get quite used to it, esp if you dress well. I also do my toning exercises in the AM upon waking becuz then it is done and I don't put it off. The rest of the day, I do my house chores, walking, and other stuff as well spreading it out over the week for more effect. Hope you ALL have a lovely week coming up; take good care ... Rosebud :flow2: |
We've definitely slowed down that's for sure!
Went shopping today and was VERY pleasantly surprised! Found a couple of winter coats I really like...at an awesome price AND they are a size 14! I figured a 16 would be snug but the 14's are roomy enough for a thick sweater so YAY YAY YAY!!!!!!!!! lol Raining like crazy here today. Nice and warm so I guess I will take 12 and rain over 0 and sunny. |
Hi everyone!! Happy Fall day! :haphal:
It is absolutely gorgeous weather here today. It is 17c and spring like weather. Woot! :D I'm going out soon to take an hour walk! Maddie: Congrats on getting into that size 14 with wiggle room. To answer your questions, yes, I love to skate on the canal, but I haven't been in a Canadian winter in three years, so I'm looking forward to going this year. It is great exercise and soooo long. The beavertails are yummy! ;) Rosebud: I've been through Timmins before. As a kid, I was up at Manitoulin Island a few summers. Isn't it on the way? I heard we had a smal snowfall a last weekend, but I didn't get to see it. I do love the snow, but it is the cold weather I'm not overly fond of. I hope your feet are okay now! greeneggsandtam: How's the soreness, and kickboxing going? I think it will get easier over time. Keep it up! Cinm: You go girl with losing that 20 pounds! I told my brother I want to lose a minimum of 10 pounds by Xmas! More would be great! :D Alannah: Good luck on the job search!! :) -- I just weighed in today, and was ecstatic to see I lost 3 pounds! Here I thought I had gained. I love surprises! I have a bit more motivation now that I know I am three pounds away from hitting my 5% goal. :D Have a great week, ladies! We can do this! :high::dancer::spid::witch: |
Good Afternoon ladies!
Nice here today finally some sun:carrot:.I am down to 193.6:smug: today I have till the first to reach my second goal of 189 I wonder if I am going to make it.I haven't tried or bought any new cloths and I know I need.My pair of jeans I through out as the had a hole in them(my favorite pair)The others are to big now I where a belt but they look horrible and my others are big also I wonder what size I would fit into now.I noticed all my tops are 2x and defiantly allot looser as they use to fit snug.I don't want to buy as I am still loosing but I am going to have to. |
Cindi...second-hand clothes are awesome! That's where I got my coats so I have no problems donating them again when they are too big for me. The thought of spending $125+ per coat...only to wear it a year...no thank you! Spending $4 (yes $4 on a suede coat) and $20 on coats...I will take that thank you very much. I also do that for sweaters and pants...everything else I buy brand new. Also...are you good at sewing? Pants are easy to put a couple of darts in..but if you have to ask me what a dart is...maybe buying new pants is the way to go! lol ;)
Almost to goal...WAY TO GO!!!! |
I'm been in a total slump and have gained. I'm not sure what is happening. I didn't rebook with the counselor as I don't feel I can trust him now. I'm trying to work through things by writing about it in my journal and I'm going to looking into some books on cognitive thinking.

 HELLO FELLOW CANUCKS ~ well, our seasonal :rain: has returned with warmer temps too. We had a huge storm last night with fierce winds (not unusual for the fall here though) which knocked out the net while I was trying to post last night. They got it back on for today; fast workers!
We had to bring some of our decos in to protect them but will put our Pumpkin Family back out tomorrow. We went up to our lot to close up the camper and bring home the rest of the food and stuff for the winter. We had :sunny: for half the day at least, but the :rain: has returned as they expected it would. DONNA ~ sorry, you are in a slump; I am trying some new strategies to get going again. I am going to try and do a plan that was written to lessen the yeast & sugar in my system; and am adding some good omega fats in my diet (about 1-2 tbl each day) to trick my body into switching from a sugar-burner to a FAT-BURNER -- I hope it works ... plus, I hope journaling will help you discover a pattern that will help you get going again too. My weakness is snacking or munching too much; I do the meals great, but I really have to battle the munchies in the afternoon and evening. Last night, I had some 85% dark chocolate (about 150 cals worth) with some green tea in the evening and felt A-OK! :D JOJO ~ yes, Manitoulin Island is part-way up the province; then you must go another 200-300? miles to get to TIMMINS. We live in a small town north-east of that city. :congrat: to all you ladies who are releasing such good numbers as of late; you are doing so well and I am very happy for you all! CINDI ~ lbs and sizes -- it all counts and both are a great motivator to improve all the more ... good for you! :cheer3: MADDIE ~ I agree about buying some stuff second-hand -- most of my clothes are new, but some I got for great prices at our gently-used second-hand store. I picked up some nice jackets and sweaters for DH & I for good prices too. You never know what you'll find at those places; oh, I love to pick up books there too! Have a great week everyone ... Rosebud :flow2: |
Donna...sorry to hear about what you are going through. We're here if you need us!
Rosebud...I hear ya about the late afternoon munchies! Mine usually hit just as I am about to cook supper and they go from hmm, yep a bit hungry to all out STARVING and FEED ME NOW! I've learned to grab a healthy snack, lie down for 20-30 minutes and THEN make supper.Saves me a whack of empty calories! Jojo-just read in our local paper that a beavertail franchise is coming here. NOOOOOOOO....I don't need that temptation!!!!!!!! ugh Really warm today, almost 17-18C. Just plain crazy weather we have had since the end of June. |
MADDIE ~ thanks for those tips -- I think it is the same reason for me; my body is longing for dinner just a tad early, so today I had a small apple with a cuppa hot chocolate, while I put my legs up and read a bit. I did much better today, thanks ... :D

Hope everyone here is having a "HAPPY HALLOWEEN WEEKEND" ...
We had :sunny: today and that melted what little snow that fell the day before; then we had a light sprinkle tonight, but it really looked pretty. It likely won't stay either as they are predicting :sunny: for the next few days as well. Have a good one ... Rosebud :flow2: |
