MITTENS ~ We sent that sunshine and heat your way, HONEST -- but I guess it came back; we had storms go west, then they came back here today ... However, we did have some in between with some more seasonal temps to go with it (for us, that means 60-70's). Not really trying to rub your nose in it, ladies -- just sharing our weather with you all, which is a Canadian past-time, eh???

TAMARA ~ congrats on the weightloss; so you dated for 19 years, then got married for 2 years so far; and you trashed your wedding dress cuz it's the second year ... a new tradition that I've never heard of ... but sounds like you had fun at it ...

Ya, I hope you all are having a great week too; I'm doing good so far (on plan and all that) ... R

Default Baby steps...again.

Good Morning Canadian Ladies! I sure come and go from here. I haven't posted in a long time it seems. Spring on the prairie has finally come. (JUNE???) what the heck? I don't care. I'll take it!
News in weight loss for Tam: I'm back on the soccer after a year-- even though I had to buy bigger shorts But I suppose I could've opted out of it all together so... Baby steps. Again.
This gaining weight thing sure happens when you're not looking. I can't count the amount of times I've wondered why my jeans were shrinking. I know. It's goofy but there you are. I can be as delusional as anyone.
We got a couple of puppies about a month ago, and suffice it to say they have changed things around our home. I'm walking with them in the mornings and at night. They are short walks because they are still little, but in only a week I can feel the difference in my mood, motivation and jeans. I'm thinking that as they grow, I'll shrink.
I have to read back through the posts to see what's going on and whose around and I just wanted to pop in and say hello! So have a lovely day all!

JW2BH- It was fairly sunny and warm by this afternoon, albeit a little cloudy, but the more sunshine you send our way the better! Hehe

Almost warm enough to start playing outside! Yeeeee haw!

TAM ~ we have lots of newbies on this spring thread. Yes, you sure do have to keep on top of things or the weight can sneak right back on; it's a life journey really. Nice to see you drop by once again; don't be a stranger now ...

MITTENS ~ good, I'm glad to hear that you are finally getting some decent weather out that way. We are having nice springish type temps here and I love it really; rather have it a bit cooler than have the 95 degree thingy, so we'll let others have that.

Just had a peaceful and restful day at home today; staying well on plan and very happy about that. I am trying another challenge for June -- this will be a JUNKLESS JUNE for me. I am allowed small treats within my plan but I have banned those things that I seem to binge on like chippies and nachos, etc.

We went shopping earlier in the week and I stocked up on good and healthy snack items and lots of veggies too ...

Have a FABULOUS FRIDAY tomorrow ... R

Hey everyone, how's things? Any other Albertan's get sunburned this weekend? I was out working in the garden in a tank top and although I checked on my shoulders occasionaly they are a very deep pink today. So painful! It even wakes me up when I try to roll over at night... uuuuhhhh... and my bra has turned into a torture device!!! Getting it on hurts so bad. Stupid me, I'm fair skinned I know better... but no, I wanted some colour, I just got the wrong one!!!

HI AUNTY ~ OH, that sounds nasty; we've all been there I think. I make sure to dress well, but my nose and face get it the worst. I was surprised to find that one day, the sun went right through my sundress and I got a wee burn, but thankfully, that went away fast. WE do have to be careful now that summer is almost here (I think officially it will be on the 21st or so ???).

We had a busy weekend; company on Saturday; went out on Sunday to one of our favorite places (ya, a lake) and for a nice, quiet drive too. Came home and had an ez oven dinner (cooks night off). Did some shopping today; picked up some stuff to fix the roof on our camper; and some shims for the cottage floor which is the next thing on our "TO DO" list. WE hope to go up there this week and get some stuff done.

Hope you all have a great week ... Rosebud

We have had really nice weather this week -- not trying to brag but it has been a blessing and I have a nice little sunburn on my face and neck after yesterday, which was a tad hotter than the other days. We have been up at our lot this week getting lots done up there. The guys started the floor on the cottage one day; and they even have the front walls up and started so that my DH can learn from the process; it is really going well.

Today, we are taking a rest day; everyone needs one, don't they? Hope you all have a lovely weekend too ... Rosebud

Just wondering about good canadian products. Here in Ontario, we have some presidents choice blue menu products, some are quite good. (others not so much). I don't like most lean cuisine stuff, its low fat stouffers with a LOT of added salt.
Haven't found a chocolate syrup I like (the sorbee is awful) and I do indulge in a little breyers 100 cal cups of ice cream from time to time.
There isn't much low carb out there now, the "fad" has faded. I can buy low fat ice cream, but no low carb. (at least the breyers, which is also low fat, has been sweetened with splenda and maltilol).
of the PC dinners, I like the whole wheat pasta shrimp with marinara sauce, and the "papillotte seafood" dinners, now that I am doing low carb I take the potatoes out the the seafood dinner, and dont have the shrimp marinara now.
I hear the americans talking about some things that I just don't see here, am thinking of mail ordering some stuff.
I don't mind cooking, but do like my convenience foods for when I am tired and don't want to cook anymore.

Just wanted to share my news here, with my fellow Canadians that today I finally reached the 50 pounds lost mark! You can check out this thread in the 100 club forum, where I usually hang out, if you want to see pics. 50 Pounds lost.

MADELEINE ~ the Blue Menu burgers are great and would fit into your plan; I've tried the beef, angus, and chicken so far. There are many more like turkey, pork, bison, salmon, and tuna, I think. I haven't tried them all yet. We like the Blue Menu Shepherd's pie occasionally as DH loves them, but that has potatoes -- but they do have a cauliflower version that might be worth trying. You might like the cabbage rolls but they do have a bit of rice in them. Have you found any dishes with just meat and veggies?

M & M's has some nice frozen entrees; like their chinese line; and ribs, chicken, fish, steak, etc -- that you should be able to have on your plan. They also have cabbage rolls too. I will often have a meat dish with some salad and that fills me up well lately. Tonight I had medium spiced big sausage with a salad with 1/2 cup potato salad on top; I was ready to burst.

On my plan, I am allowed things like that but just have to watch the servings of my grains and starches each day. Hope you find some things you like.

JUDYLYNN ~ on your 50 lb loss -- that is a big milestone and you must be so proud of your accomplishment!!!

We had a very busy week at our lot getting lots done up there (am taking pics). Plus, we had cooler weather today, so we went for a nice drive to a favorite lake this afternoon. Hope you all have a wonderful week coming up ... Rosebud

Well as if I'm not the biggest slacker ever! I don't think I've been on for about three weeks!

Things are going well...185.2lbs (44.8lbs total loss) at today's WI and 44.5". Hard to believe but I'm loving it. I'm in a size 14 and they're getting baggy! I love shopping again...actually I guess I love shopping for clothes again!

DH got his old job back (only took 10 months) and financially things are looking up again. We're going to join a new gym that is 24/7 in our neighbourhood and will be able to ride our bikes there. I came home on June 11 to leave for a camping trip and he surprised me with a new bicycle! I hadn't ridden in probably 20 years, but it was "just like riding a bike"...LOL

My sister comes to town on July 9 for the duration of the Stampede and she'll be shocked when she sees me. The last time she saw me I was 230lbs and I'm hoping to be in the 170's (originally my June 30 goal but I dont' think I'll make it).

Congratulations to JUDYLYNN for hitting 50lbs! You're an inspiration to me for sure!

Hope everyone is enjoying the weather, we're pretty nice here and thankfully our rain has ceased for the time being.

Hey everyone! I see it's just as slow here as most other places on the forum. Summer has us all outside cramming as much into the day as we can, it's a short season for us Canucks.

Things are going pretty good for me, I'm up to 35 minutes of jogging on the treadmill and offically down 35 pounds. Last christmas when we were in DisneyLand I bought this really cute shirt that I knew I didn't have a hope in heck of fitting into (at the time). I stood there with it in my hands and vowed "I WILL fit this some day..." Guess what I'm wearing today It's still just a little snug around the bust and shoulders but fits well enough to wear to work!

Tamara - Oh, that'll be a great reaction. I always find the reaction to my weight loss really gets me going, I love running into people I haven't seen in a long time. I want to go to the Stampede too.....

YEPPERS, we do have to take advantage of the nice weather when we can up here -- we went up to our lot on Monday (made two trips for doors and windows for our cottage), and boy, was it ; then shopping on Tuesday (walked my tired feet off); then did my Wednesday weeding, and planted some more seed in our side gardens (more green beans, lettuces, radishes, and summer turnips).

Today, we stayed home so that I could have a complete rest day as I overdid it a bit I guess; I woke up with a bit of a cold this morning and that peri-menopause stuff is acting up again this past week. As the day went on, I started to feel better though, thank goodness!

We had a cooler day today, but the did peek out since the late afternoon which was nice. We had fish, homefries, and salad for dinner tonight; nice & easy for me. I heard that there were some storms and supposed to have been some tremors here, but we have lots of road work going on near our place so it was hard to tell ...

Congrats to all of you ladies having so much great success with your weightloss goals ; and have fun at the Stampede too!

My Uncle Tom's funeral is tomorrow AM (he passed away peacefully last Thursday). Hope you all have a great week out there with great weather too ... Rosebud

PS ~ not sure if I should start a new SUMMER thread or not -- what do you all think? The summer season usually starts around the 20/21st ... I think!

Sorry to hear about your Uncle Tom... glad it was peaceful.

I think we should have a summer thread... of course I'm the one who pushed for a spring thread also.

Things up here are ok, the X-Weighted challange is almost over and I've met my goal. I thought I would really blow it out of the water but it's actually been tough, I guess traveling and being sick for weeks didn't help. I'm just happy to be where I am.

OK, my fellow Canucks, I am gonna start a new SUMMER thread right now to celebrate our upcoming birthday on July 1st -- so I expect you all to be good CANADIANS and support it with lots and lots of gabby posts and weather reports ... see you there!
