Another scorcher today -- up to 95 F today; haven't seen temps like this too often ... hope this changes soon. They are calling for some tonight; hope we get it to cool things down. Our young neighbour came over and helped DH put our other air conditioner in our front door and that is helping a lot.

Did some gardening in the early AM; have some more flowers blooming and coming up. DH started the front beds again, as they had grown over from lack of use over the years. Am thinking of some Irises or bush flowers of some type; will have to go hunting and see what I can find.

Hope you all have a great week ... Rosebud

HI, I'm a newbie to this post and am sooo happy to find a Canadian chat site! I live in Sylvan Lake AB. I braved the "who knows what the weather will do" long weekend and went camping. I was ok, if the wind wasn't so cold! We were lucky and didn't get any snow!
I am excited to hear from everyone to find out what works for them on the weight loss train. I started Ideal Protein on April 28th and so far I have lost 16 pounds. It is really unlike anything I have heard before.
Is there anyone else here on this?
Happy to find this site, and am looking forward to chat!
See ya all soon!

It's beautiful up there! And from what I hear y'all got better weather then we did in Calgary - It was cold and windy and gross.
Welcome

What a fun long-weekend! We camped up at Cow Lake, near Rocky Mountain House. It was chilly at night and cloudy on Saturday, but aside from that it was beautiful. The boys got to fish, the girls got to gossip and all in all it was a good time. Thank goodness for campers with furnaces! I don't know how likely we are to camp again where there are no services (gross outhouses), but it could have been a lot worse...like if we were in a tent! LOL

I weighed in at HM before we left on Friday and was at 190.8. I was up today at lunch to 191, but am feeling good and am sure I'll be into the 180's before the end of the month. I actually managed to stay on plan (except for a few drinks on Saturday) all weekend with my food and was very proud of myself.

I'm off to the Sex and the City midnight premier on Wednesday and then my mom arrives on Thursday. I'm off Friday to spend some time with mom and then Saturday helping a photographer friend all day photograph over 350 kids for the softball association. Sunday I get to go and trash my wedding dress and then next Thursday is my baby girl's high school graduation! What a busy couple of weeks!

I hope everyone else had a great long-weekend. I'll come back later and read the posts, just wanted to jump in for a quick update as I don't know when I'll have time again!

Everyone have a great day!
Tamara

Hi everybody! I was in the garden but it's just too hot!

I'm not complaining. As long as I can be cool enough to sleep ... I'll take this!

Hello All, I have completed 11 days straight of staying on plan. Although yesterday was easy to stay on plan after I go off work from my last night shift of the week I slept the rest of the day and night. I was at at 7 pm had something to eat then fell back to sleep until morning.

Today I have some By-law work to do then I am spend the rest of the day relaxing. Possibly even napping. It can take me 2 days to get off a night schedule and about one to get back on.

The scal this morning shows that my weight is moving down again. Which I am very please about. Since I screwed up my goal to be 125 by the time I turned 45 which is in a couple of weeks I am hoping to be out of the 230's by then and aiming for 125 for my 46th.

Loving the warmer weather my my job so much easier. Take care all.

Laura

to our three newbies ~ ELAINE, KARLEEM, and JOURNEYSEND -- so glad that you all found us over here. Two of you are doing the IDEAL PROTEIN PLAN; what is that? Is is a low carb plan? Must be new as I have only heard of it recently.

I am doing a calorie-based portion plan; and now I am using Jorge Cruise's cards which are very EZ; it is a pre-done plan and you just check off your portions each day (from his book "Eight Minutes in the Morning"). I was doing this plan before but picked up his book on a deal and it fit right in with mine and is very helpful. I also do the hand-weight exercises from the book and my toning exercises in the morning upon waking (less like to put it off that way) ...

I have been off the net the last couple of days as we have had some awesome storms with mega-lightening, but like SUSANB, I am not complaining as this have cooled things down for us. We lost a modem and 2 VCR's in the past, so we take no chances now.

We were reaching the mid-90's there for a few days (eeks) and with the humidity on top, it wasn't pretty .... thank goodness for air conditioners with built-in dehumidifiers. So now we are down to a more pleasant 70's and probably in the 60's tonight -- great for sleeping.

Got out to do some shopping, picking up mostly veggies and fruit and such. Went to the docs today; weighed myself late, but am still down another 2 lbs this week ... hey, I'll take it!

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend with great weather too ... Rosebud

Well, we had snow again today, so please send some of that heat out west our way! Congrats on your loss Rosebud!

Welcome to the newbies. Glad you found us!

We had a great time in Las Vegas. It sure was hard to go back to work though. Every time I am on vacation for a while, it makes me realize how much I dislike my job.

Have a great weekend!

Hello to all the newbies! So glad you're here and can't wait to get to know everyone! This is a great forum...(except for the post from all those in the East that are rubbing our noses in their heatwave while we freeze our hineys off!)

I had an amazing day yesterday. I went and got my hair and make-up done professionally and then went with my wedding photographer and trashed my wedding dress at various locations around Calgary and ended up with a dip in the Bow River...can you say BRRRRRR! LOL! It was so fun though and I can't wait to see the photos.

It's our second wedding anniversay (19th anniversay of our first date) tomorrow and so we went out for a beautiful dinner last night and still when I weighed in at HM today I was 188.6! Woowza! So pleased. Next goal is to get into the 170's by the end of June.

Hope everyone has a good Monday.

Tamara
