Worldlies in Awesomely Actively Agile August.
If you need to check the old thread click the link http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/supp...nt-july-7.html If not, don't click.
So here we are, actively involved and it is August. Get with the program girls. |
Back later with the latest news - which is more or less no news at all.
|
Okay - whats up - well I finally got my internet back on the computer. Had to use DS2's laptop this morning. I installed the IE updates and low and behold my computer could get mail, but not internet. Thank you Robbie for your help. It seems that IE8 has a bug or two and I should not re install it for another 6 months or so that they can remove the bugs.
I'm off to tile in the loo in a couple of minutes if I ever get my measurements right. Time to get that back on track again. I have been procrastinating again. Catch you all later. Enjoy August |

   You can't slap me if you can't catch me and you can't catch me because I'm being more active in August. Too much activity makes me sleepy so I'll catch you in the morning. Thanks for setting up the new thread. |
It's not the hip and bust, more like the waist! :lol3: As for getting my measurements right, it took three shots this morning to measure the wall and get the level start point. :yikes: I wouldn't slap you, but I probably could catch you - I'm trying activity as well.
|
I'm off to the farmer's market this morning - trying a new one downtown. Had to get up at 7 on a Saturday morning. This one better be good
Catch up with you later ladies. |
Morning ladies
I'm getting ready to go to my uncles in Paragould this morning. I need to leave at 10.30 a.m. Today is my mom's baby brother's birthday. According to my calculations he's 76, He's 10 years younger than my mother and she would have been 86 this month. My main goal this month is to exercise more and no fried foods. Weight this morning is 193.6 in my pj's. |
Uh I know what you mean Ceejay - exercise month coming up. I have been looking for another gym, but no one is particularly excited about having a sort of temporary member. The best I got offered was $230 for 3 months payable up front or $15 per visit.
Happy - I'm chasing to the Farmers markets. That maybe my exercise today. It is one long swim between here and there. Mel - watch those eyes. You are not the only person I hear complaining about the rain this summer. It seems it is all over the States and Europe. I see there was flooding in Germany a couple of weeks back. Annie, Michelle - enjoy the weekend. I know we don't get to hear from you much during the weekends and thats fine, you both need enjoyment after a week in the office. Happy - I swear I put a DO NOT USE notice on the old thread. Maybe I forgot to save it. Thanks for doing it for this feeble minded old lady. So today is dawning fine and warm again. I will spend a bit more time out in the garden digging and shifting and dumping the weeds and shavings from the hedge. I have some compost to spread as well and I picked up some California poppies and heliotrope yesterday to spread around the place as a bit of a ground cover once the compost is done. Time to fertilise again too or the lettuces will take forever to grow. I might also shift the Nodding Violets from under the tree and put them under the verandah. They did quite well there for a while but now look very sad and flowerless. Of course I will have to shift them again when I go away or they will never get watered. And there is some more tiling to be done in the loo - following that, grouting (awful job that) and painting. Yes I know I should have painted BEFORE tiling, however the DS2 beat me to it and pulled out the old loo and I need to get the cistern of the new one in so I can flush without having to go fill up a bucket. We won't go any further with that one. My finger and toe nails are in a terrible state, so some time tonight to deal with them as well. It's going to be a busy day. So today is going to be busy. I should catch up with the family as well so I had better get going and do something. Have a fun day. |
OHHH POOP...I POSTED ON THE OTHER THREAD THIS MORNING TO EVERYONE. SEEMS LIKE OUR WEEKEND IS ROLLING ALONG. SHAD...THANKS FOR THE NEW AUGUST HOME. HAPPY...THANKS FOR THE LINK. CEEJAY.....HAVE A GREAT TIME IN PARAGOULD.
TODAY WAS GREAT. CLEANED THE LIVING ROOM AND TRYING TO GET A BIT MORE ORGANIZED BY MOVING STUFF AROUND A BIT. I'LL SEE IF IT WORKS OUT BETTER THIS WAY. HAVE A GREAT NIGHT. :cloud9: |
Ceejay - good goals for August. Enjoy your trip and the b-day lunch.
Happy - hope you picked up some good stuff at the farmers market. Our village has one by the train station each Sunday morning, but I usually miss it because I'm too busy chilling out with the newspaper and tea. Shad - sounds like a busy day - a lot of home and garden. Both must be murder on the hands. Hope you can bring them back with some tlc. Thanks for starting the Aug. thread. Mel - we had a lot of forecasts for isolated or scattered showers and gotten very little out of it for our are. The soil is parched, but somehow the weeds still survivie. Thankfully, so have my perennials and veggies. I didn't do much of anything Friday evening - just relaxed in front of the tv. this morning I was done with the x-ray by 8:15 am, then I went to the gym for a class. I'd been looking at the Sunday schedule like a dufus, so the class options weren't spinning or step, but Kwando, which was just starting up when I arrived. I quickly put my stuff away and joined it. It's kickboxing. I tried to keep up as well as I could. Good sweaty workout, so August is off to a good start. Not much else done - a couple loads of laundry, lunch, a nap (not a usual thing, but I had a headache), and I laid out and cut my pattern. Bf just came home from watching part of a bike race in a neighboring burb. We'll get dinner going - grilled pork chops, salad and either rice or potatoes. Enjoy the rest of your weekends! :) |
Good Sunday Morning.....
Shad...you are right, I enjoy the outdoors so much, computer time is mostly non-existant. My puter at work moves one heck of a lot faster than my home one, so I like to post from work. Messed in my flower bed yesterday, thought of you! ;^) Thanks for starting to new thread, what would we do without you, my friend. MEL...ooohh POOP....Yikes don't say that word around me....lol...however I am not moving as well as I would like, kind of stopped up, too much cheese, I think. Laura...come to Indy and watch the band, we can dance our arses off and get plenty of exercise... Ceejay...if you weigh naked, you and take the .6 off your weigh in. lol Happy...get some yummy stuff from the market. I picked a zucchini, banana peppers and jalapenos this morning. Dang mators are still green, wish they would start turning, I am afraid I will have them all turn at once. May have to send them to all the Worldlies. Chelle....wow, we are having a magnificent weekend also. It rained during the night, amen, the garden loved it. Now it is back to sunny and beautiful. I have opened all my windows and enjoying the weather. It is comfortable in here for me, might be warm for the normal person as I am ALWAYS on the cold side. Need to jump in the shower, shave the leggies, and get out in it. Don't have a lot of yard work to do today but I am sure I can dream up something. I love to be out in it however like to be doing something. Maybe I will sit on the porch and give myself a pedi. Wore the bathing suit too long yesterday, think I may have the start of a yeast infection. D*MN it. Going to make some pica before the shower so need to get started on that. Have a wonderful worldlie day ladies. Much love and many hugs, |
|
LAURA~ NOW THAT IS WHAT I CALL EXERCISING! WOW! I WOULD HAVE LOVED TO LEARN KICKBOXING! HOPE THE HEAD FEELS BETTER.
HAPPY~ HOW WAS THE MARKET!! WHAT KIND OF HOUR TO GET UP ON A WEEKEND IS THAT FOR A HARD WORKING GAL!??!? :faint: YOU'RE SO RIGHT IT HAD BETTER BE WORTH IT! SHAD~ YOU WILL HAVE TO CATCH UP WITH ME. I THINK LAST MONTH I ONLY MISSED 4-5 DAYS OF EXERCISING. I SET A RECORD FOR MYSELF :ebike: I SHOULD BE HALFWAY TO HAPPY'S BY NOW.....I'LL MEET YOU THERE. I'LL BE THE ONE IN THE LOUNGECHAIR:beach: ANNIE~ DID I TELL YOU I THINK I SOLVED MY OH POP PROBLEM? I BOUGHT PHILLIPS CAPLETS. NOT THE ONE WITH THE SOFTENER...JUST THE PLAIN. I TAKE ONE EVERY NIGHT AND MAMA MIA!! SO FAR SO GOOD. BUT I STILL CANNOT EAT BREADS, PASTAS OR TOO MUCH CHEESE ETC. :rain: IT'S RAINING FOR A CHANGE :lol3: :lol3: BUT WE HAVE THE GREENEST GRASS IN TOWN. WE ALSO HAVE WATER BUGS ON THE FIRST FLOOR TRYING TO GET IN OUT OF THE RAIN AND SIDEWALKS FULL OF DEAD WORMS. I HATE DRIVING OVER THEM. YUCK! THOUGHT I WOULD SAY HELLO NOW. TOMORROW MIGHT BE BUSY. 2 WOMEN ON VACATION AND I ALSO NEED TO CALL OR MEET WITH MY FRIEND AND SET A DATE FOR THE OFFICE RUG INSTALLATION. THE RUG MAN IS LOOKING AT NIGHTS OR A WEEKEND. I WANT A WEEKEND. I'M GOING TO TELL HIM "I DON'T DO NIGHTS". SORRY PAL. I LOADED UP MY BASKET WITH WASH TOO SO I WANT TO GET AN EARLY START BEFORE ALL THE SENIOR'S HOMEMAKERS GET IN THE LAUNDRY ROOM. HAVE A GREAT SUNDAY/MONDAY :moped: |
Good morning ladies, hope you are enjoying your weekend.
Farmers Market was good, I think a bit better than the one I usually go to but it's all the way downtown and parking is a :censored: so I'm not sure it's worth going too often. There were several places selling meat - we stopped at one because we wanted the farm fresh eggs. They sold out early but we bought 2 steaks that turned out to be frightfully expensive. It's aged beef - do I really care - but these suckers better be the best steaks of my life! It was one of those things when you saw the price you were :yikes: but too embarassed to say naw  that's way too much. I was waiting for DH to protest but he didn't. He did say maybe we'll try to get there at 7am next time because he would like to check out those eggs. We got tomatoes, green beans, cucumbers are not looking good this season so far, green bell peppers and what kind of freak invented Praline Pecans??? OMG so good, probably sent my blood sugar through the roof. Lucky we only got one tiny bag of about 4 very small portions. We got home just in time, it was dark gray and swirly and the bad storms started about an hour after we got home. The rest of the day was kinda lazy so today is a frenzied catch up. Mel good for you for sticking with the pedals last month  :yay: I had no idea you were being such a good girl. :carrot: Keep up the good work. Don't stress yourself out tomorrow trying to be everything to everyone. I'm saving your lounge chair by the pool but it's kind of soggy right now. :( Supposed to warm up so it will be hot, sticky and soggy. Annie - I will happily accept your tomatoes. My plants would do the same thing - heavy with lots of green fruit in August. Come on, come ON. Leaves would start to shrivel up in Sept and I'd still have lots of green ones. I gave up trying, just get mine at the market now. Or bum off of friends :s:  Suck down some yogurt if the netherlands are acting up on you. It helps. Then put on some loose drawers and get outside  Laura - set an extra plate or two for dinner - you might be having some of us as pop in visitors :hungry: sounds great. Kickboxing is such a great workout - much harder than step I think. Good for you for getting through the class. When I worked in downtown Chicago I loved the farmers market at the Daley Center. Seeing as how I cannot master moderation of any sort, I would buy far too much and have to drag about 30 pounds of produce the half mile back to my office on Michigan Ave and then haul it all back a mile to the train station at night. I learned not to buy watermelons, cantelope and potatoes - no matter HOW good they looked  Did enjoy that tho. Shad - sounds like you are in serious need of a spa day. But do it after working on the loo. I'm quite surprised that your garden grows with you being away as much as you have to be. However I suppose you have to pick the right flowers for drought conditions. I have a beautiful picture of poppies on my desktop - they are so pretty. Ceejay - hope you had a good trip to the uncle's. Happy BD to him. Someone mentioned on another thread that Grace Slick of Jefferson Airplane is 70 years old. That is SOOOOO hard to believe. I guess we are all creeping to senior land... I have to go get the toes done, take stock of what I've got in the refrigerator and use up as much as possible and still find someplace to spend the night in Hot Springs. I have started making my packing list. We have to bring in food so planning that too. There's what looks to be a nice botanical garden in Hot Springs I'd like to visit. DH is looking at getting himself a new camera and he so enjoys taking pictures so I think that will be a good place to go. Better a garden than a cave :yikes:   to Patty and Michelle - don't spend all your time working on the computer Missy. |
h come on Happy - gardens and caves are both good in different ways, and just remember that once you got inside that cave you were excited about what you saw. Caves appeal to my Neanderthal self.
Annie - don't send the tomatoes down here. Much as I like homegrown, even if they did arrive here, they would no longer be worth eating due to the chemicals the agriculture and primary industries would spray on them. I'll just have to grow my own I'm afraid. Mel - I guess that is a challenge you have just sent out. I'm off for a work shortly to try to get back into exercising. I have to get some blood work done, so I may just walk down to the surgery and then come home via the bush track. It's a start. So that gets my day off to a start, I can't eat or drink before it so I'd better get on with it - I have already delayed it until the form is nearly out of date. I'll be back at a later time to check up on whom I have missed. I'd better get out of here before I change my mind. See ya |
Another quiet Sunday for me. The trip to Paragould was good. Now I need to plan out tomorrow's food. Unfortunately the bd uncle didn't show up. His son from Nashville came to help celebrate his birthday. Can't blame him for that.
Happy When are you leaving on your trip? Shad You need to post pictures of your yard. Patty Where are you? Mel Don't work to hard at supervising the rug instalation. Michelle and Annie  |
Here it is MOnday already, soon to be trash day...I can feel it. haha
Start my CVS job tomorrow night, so far I work Tuesday, Thursday..5:30-10 or so, then Saturday 2-10pm. That one will be the killer...especially if it is a nice day, I will hate working. And because I will be on my feet the entire time. Yeah for CVS, they INSIST you where tennis shoes, done! I am kind of excited, then again, NOT. Happy....glad the market was good to you. Expensive steaks, hmmmmm, be sure to cook them perfect for that price. lol I did wear loose shorts and no panties yesterday, don't know if it made a difference or not, but was very comfortable. I gave myself a pedicure on the back patio in the sun. Turned of ok. MEL...yuck dead worms. When I see dead worms it usually means the area smells like a fish when you go out in it. Ick. Hmmmm, MEL, a night installer, you might want to check him out before you tell him NO nights...it might be Sven's cousin, Auturo Ceejay....glad the trip went well. BD boy didn't show up, oh well, you got to visit anyway. SHAD....that settles it, if I cannot send you the tomatos, then you are going to have to come to my house to eat them. Give it a couple of weeks then the matos should be turning. Chelle...hope your day goes well, you mighty exerciser. What a beautiful weekend it was.... My Bro got my shower knob installed and also FIXED my lawnmower. No more borrowing from the neighbor, altho I love the neighbors mower better. Now I need a new shower head. SHeesh does it ever end? Hello to everyone, love and hugs, |
HAPPY~ I ALWAYS WONDERED WHY AGED BEEF IS SOOOO EXPENSIVE? CAUSE THEY TAKE CARE OF IT LONGER BY WATCHING IT age?? :lol3: THE TRIP SOUNDS NICE AND HOPE YOU LOVE YOUR YURT. DO THEY COME IN COLORS OR JUST ONE COLOR FITS ALL?? I CANNOT WAIT TO HEAR ALL ABOUT IT WHEN YOU COME HOME.
SHAD~ HOW DID THE APPT AT THE SURGERY GO?? HOPE ALL IS WELL IN YOUR CORNER OF THE WORLD. YES...MAYBE WE SHOULD BE CHALLENGING EACH OTHER TO MOVE SOME PART OF THE BODY EVERY DAY. HOW WAS THE BUSH TRACK?? JEANETTE~ GLAD YOU HAD A GOOD TIME. I COULD SEE WHY THE BD UNCLE STAYED HOME...HOW NICE HE HAD A VISITOR :hb: ANNIE~ ONLY YOU WOULD THING IT MIGHT BE ARTURO.,....BUT I WILL CHECK HIM OUT AHEAD OF TIME...I DON'T WANT TO MISS GETTING LAID...I MEAN THE RUG LAID :belly: GOOD LUCK WITH THE 2ND JOB. AND DON'T SPEND ALL YOUR MONEY IN THE MAKE-UP AISLE!! REMEMBER WHERE THAT MONEY IS SUPPOSED TO BE GOING!!! :sunny: SUNNY AND MONDAY. NOT A BAD START TO THE WEEK. NO ANSWER FROM THE RUGMAN AS YET SO I CAME UP. I THINK THERE IS A WIRE CROSSED SOMEWHERE. I UNDERSTOOD HE WAS TO CALL THE OFFICE AFTER THE RUGS CAME IN AND THEN WE WOULD AGREE ON A WEEKEND. SO I CAME BACK UP. I NEED TO HELP JEN WITH HER 1,000,000 QUESTIONS THAT THE GOVT WANT HER TO ANSWER. IT'S HER TURN AGAIN. DANG TIME FLIES. HAPPY MONDAY/TUESDAY :moped: |
Howdy ladies,
Monday rolls around again. Boy that sure comes quickly! I had a brownie last night - and a big glass of ice cold milk. Yum. Got a zit on my chin this morning. That was fast. My skin does not like chocolate even if my insides do. I have to be careful with dark chocolate too which is generally my only chocolate of choice any more. Had the aged beef yesterday. It was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G !!!!! I hardly ever finish a steak in one sitting but I did this one. It was delicious. I would get this meat again, but save it for a special occasion. Apparently aging takes some of the water out and makes it more tender and flavorful. We both enjoyed our meal last night. Now back to tuna fish  Mel - yurts appear to be made out of a light colored canvas which at night will make them "glow". I'm looking forward to the trip, we leave a week from tomorrow. Decided against Hot Springs, I found a place in Heber Springs which might be nice for an overnight trip on the way home. DH celebrated by buying a camera. He never really liked his last camera and his faithful G3 is dying. He does so enjoy his guitars and cameras so I couldn't say no. Geez Mel, seems like you are wrestling with the government ever other week. I think you need to place a call to Barack or Michelle. Seriously - hope things work out for you. What a fuss. I will take you on vacation with me in my thoughts - be prepared for some nice relaxing! Cross fingers that the skies stay clear for the meteor shower. So far it's supposed to stay hot and cloudy. :( Annie - no, it never ends. Or so it seems. The amount of never ending is in direct proportion to the empty wallet  Yeah for handy brothers who are willing to help you out :yay: Make him something yummy and thank him from all of us :D I admire you for taking a second job - I know it's not because you WANT to but I don't know if I'd have the energy any more. Get some comfy shoes there woman, leave the red stillettos at home  Heres to a good on plan week for both of us Ceejay - I'm focusing on sticking to unprocessed as much as possible, journalling food and lots of water, what about you? Shad - hope the bloodwork comes out ok, hate waiting on that fasting thing. Why so much of a hassle with the gym? We have lots of competition here and I think people are cutting back on memberships so while you can't get rock bottom prices, depending on your needs - simple to elaborate, you can generally find something although there's only one place that is a chain/franchise/multi location kind of place you could use while travelling. Good luck! Time to get moving - to Michelle, Laura, Patty and the rest of the crew. |
Happy Monday ladies -
I feel so out of touch and have to catch up with so much of your lives. Sorry that I've been away all weekend. It was a busy weekend doing website work Friday night, all day Saturday and Sunday morning as well...then there was grocery shopping, laundry and the usual stuff to do. Still and all it was a great weekend and we had GORGEOUS weather, and I did get outside a bit to enjoy it! I even helped DH mow the lawn (on the rider). I offered to do both lawns, but he insisted on doing it. He got the front lawn done, but the uneveness and bumpiness of the backyard wasn't doing his back or ribs any favors, so I took over. I don't mind...I enjoyed being outdoors and I love driving the mower. I'm already to take it down to Memphis, and it does have headlights so I can drive after dark! Sounds like all of us had a productive and busy weekend. Mel - Your storms last week smashed a wrought iron table?? Sheesh!! Mother Nature sure doesn't hold back on her punches when it comes to NJ. Good for you for getting all the exercise in last month! You are the exercise :queen: ! And whether you get laid or just the rug laid, I hope Arturo is some nice eye candy! When Happy suggests you call Michelle regarding the gov't hassles, she means Michelle Obama. Not much I can do for you when it comes to the gov't stuff. Though I wouldn't mind chatting with ya' sometime. Shad - I am ALL FOR getting more active in August. I've got to get this weight off...so I will stay OP every day, eat lots of fresh fruits and veg while we still can (before the cold weather comes back), and get my butt moving EVERY SINGLE DAY! I walked this weekend, but I didn't break any speed records doing it. Was really exhausted and burnt out both days from all the 'puter work. Good for you for tiling the loo! I'll bet it looks great! $15 per visit for the gym? That's kinda steep. But if you get a job that takes you to another part of the country/world, then the 3 month membership wouldn't be good either. That's kind of a quandry. Ceejay - Glad you had a nice time with the uncles! Laura - Good for you for trying kickboxing. I really enjoyed that class, and it is an awesome workout! I've had to take a (hopefully temporary) break from kickboxing, step and other impact classes due to my back. Happy - It's always nice to try a new Farmer's Market. All the ones around where I live are very popular. We can get farm fresh eggs at the farmers market, but there are also signs along the road by many of the local farms that say they're selling eggs. I think this has been a rough year for cukes. No one I know had luck with them in their garden...and the grocery store has had a limited number. But I bought some yesterday at the store that were on sale and REALLY tasty! Mmmmmm. Glad you enjoyed the aged steaks! And a brownie too? You've got me drooling again....not a good thing in the office! OMG, Grace Slick is 70?! Unbelievable! Annie - We didn't get any rain over the weekend...but we did get a nice thundershower this morning. Hopefully the plants got a good soaking. My tomatoes are still green as well, just like yours and Happy's. But I have picked some lovely summer squash...of course one is nearly the size of a football...not sure how to prepare something that big (will the rind be too tough even after steaming or stir-fry). Since you'll be working so much, be sure and make time for relaxing. I wasn't really much of an exerciser this past weekend, unless you count the exercise my fingers got on the computer keyboard, but I did what I could. I'm planning on going to the gym tonight as it will be too warm and muggy for outside exercise. So nice that your brother fixed your shower knob AND your lawnmower! Well, ladies, I've got lots to get done today, so I'd better get to it. A big  to anyone I've missed! Love and hugs to all, |
MEL...shouldn't be hard to stay away from purchasing things...I even gave up my 99 cent coffee from the Speedway gas station in the mornings. I have become a very tight wad. Instead I drink the plain ole stuff here at work. Occasionally my boss brings me a Starbucks, like today...nice surprise.
Happy......Brownie...NOT, but the ice cold milk sounds good. Hard for me to drink without getting a tummy ache, but I love it. I fixed chicken tetrazini (sp) and homemade zuchinni bread and fresh garden salad (salad had banana rings, jalapenos, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, carrots, cucumbers in it) for dinner last night with T. Your steak sounds quite yummy. Tuna fish I can only handle once or twice a month. Just too boring. Later chickies. |
CHELLE....Get off the puter and get outside more. It is so lovely. I am like you, I used to ride mow our lawn when I was married. The b*tt did not do much around there and lived on 3 acres, all that had to be cut. It was me time when I was on the mower.
|
Morning all,
Got to the blood bank yesterday and combined the walk down to the surgery with the run (jog really) through the bush. There used to be a time in the past when the dogs and I would go down there and surprise the wildlife. However with the proliferation of factories and workshops down there now, not much wildlife exists. Only yesterday, I realised I haven't heard a Kookaburra laugh since I got home. They all seem to have disappeared. It's quite sad. We seem to have lost Jolly - wonder what happened to her. Happy - so glad that the steak was great - always a bit of a risk when we pay for something untried. I had a go at Wagyu beef a couple of weeks ago - it was nice but not worth the extra and it has extra fat. I do love a good bit of steak. Your DH is as bad as me with his cameras although I think I have had one more than him since last we met. Ceejay - what happened to the birthday uncle. Is he okay - unusual for them not to get together surely. Michelle - Good for you getting out into the fresh air. It is so good to do that and feel warm and fuzzy. How's the website coming along? Annie - the new job sounds busy. Hope you get something out of it apart from extra money. Got to hand it to you girl, you get out there and do something about your situation rather than whinging about it. Household stuff all tends to wear out around the same time. Probably because it is put in about the same time. Lucky you and I don't have to call in the tradies or we would be perpetually broke. Mel - hope you get to read this erudite post. It's better for you than getting laid - getting the rugs laid. Arturo and Sven. Life is looking up around your way. Time for another trip I think just to get you back into the swing of real life. How about I ring you on Tuesday your time around 4 or maybe a bit later since I need to do the exercise BEFORE we talk, otherwise I won't get out there at all. And I guess that is about it for now. I need to get on with the day - with the exercise heading the list. If I leave it much later it will get too warm. Not quite sure where I will go today. Maybe the same route. I'm not fit enough for the full circuit just yet. Then on with the tiles, the cleaning, the washing, the garden, the never ending list of things needing to be done around this place. Oh yes and I have a couple of orchids out. One is pale lemon and purple and the other a deep clear yellow. One has perfume as well. Yummmeeee. |
HAPPY~ THAT VACATION SOUNDS WONDERFUL AND I TRULY HOPE THE SKIES ARE CLEAR. THE DH WILL LOVE HIS NEW CAMERA THERE AND CAN SIT IN THE GLOWING YURT AND SERENADE YOU. HOW GREAT WILL THAT BE. I SEE YURTS ALL THE TIME ON THE HISTORY CHANNEL WHEN THEY DO SHOWS ON DIFFERENT NATIONALITIES.
YOU WILL HAVE A BLAST. I HOPE THIS CRAP WITH JEN GOES SMOOTHLY. IT BEGINS SOMETIME LATE THIS MONTH...SO I HAVE PLENTY OF TIME TO PRAY!! :yoga: MICHELLE!~ I CAN MEET YOU IN MEMPHIS...I HAVE A CHAIR WITH HEADLIGHTS AND TAIL LIGHTS...EVEN FLASHERS!! WE CAN DRAG RACE ON THE MAIN ROAD!! :scooter: POOR DH AND HIS BACK.S GLAD YOU CAN DRIVE AND DO THE BACKYARD!! WHAT A WOMAN!!! YOU MADE ME LAUGH WITH THE MICHELLE OBAMA THING:lol3: SHAD~ AFTER 4 IS GOOD CAUSE THAT'S WHEN THE OFFICE CLOSES....JIC I AM DOWN THERE. SOME PEEPS STILL ON VACATION. AND I'LL LEAVE THE PC OFF SO YOU CAN CALL WHENEVER YOU ARE READY. I'LL BE HOME ALL NIGHT. CHAT THEN. :cloud9: I DID END UP IN THE OFFICE BUT NOT UNTIL WELL AFTER LUNCH. JUST SOME BS STUFF AND EASY TO FIX. I WAS RIGHT ABOUT THE CARPET GUY. HE WILL CALL WHEN THEY COME IN AND NOT BEFORE! VERY HOT AND HUMID TODAY. TOMORROW I NEED TO GO TO THE SUPERMARKET AND GET SOME PAPER GOODS. THEN THURSDAY IS TRADER'S, THEN I WILL STUFF THE FREEZER AND CL.OSETS FOR THE MONTH. ON ANOTHER NOTE: PATTY AND CARLOS CALLED ME ABOUT THE OLD WHEELCHAIR. THEY ARE WORKING ON FINDING SOME PARTS AND MAKING AN ESTIMATE SO I KNOW WHERE I STAND. SEEMS WITH THE FREEZES ON EVERYTHING THE TOWN AND OFFICE WILL NOT BE PARTICIPATING IN THE EXPENSE OF REPAIRS. BUT ONE MAN IS TELLING ME TO GO AHEAD AND GET MY DUCKS IN A ROW. SO I AM FOLLOWING UP ON IT. THE WHEELS OF "FAVORS" MOVE VERY SLOWLY.....MAYBE FROM NOW ON I SHOULD RESPOND EQUALLY SLOWLY TO "THEM". I WOULD SAY I AM DISAPPOINTED BUT THEN I NEVER EXPECTED THEIR HELP IN THE FIRST PLACE. I KNOW POLITICIANS! I NEED TO PEDAL AND SHOWER AND GET CLOTHES OUT FOR TOMORROW...LIKE FLYLADY TELLS ME TO!! HAVE A GREAT NIGHT AND I WILL BE BACK WEDNESDAY MORE THAN LIKELY. |
Thought of you this morning Mel as I was jogging (slowly) down the bush path - I got passed by the best pair of legs and butt that I have seen in a long time - hurried to keep up but lost him after about 500 metres. I needed that speedy wheelchair.
After 4 it is. I might make it closer to 5 your time. |
SHAD~ WHERE AM I WHEN ALL THESE GOOD LOOKING BUTTS AND LEGS ARE RUNNING PAST!! I COULD HAVE RUN HIM DOWN AND CAUGHT HIM FOR YA!! THE BAD NEWS TODAY IS THA I AM SORRY BUT I HAVE TO CANCEL THE PHONECALL....PLEASE READ YOUR E-MAIL.
AND .....I WILL CHAT TOMORROW CHICKS OF THE WORLD. HAPPY TUESDAY/WEDNESDAY :moped: |
Good Morning Chickies........
Well, we have the results of momma's tests. Not so good, but there is a bright side to it. She has one kidney that is deteriorating. Bad side of that is we know not what is the cause. The bright side is she has one good kidney, and my guess and only a guess, is that the diabetes is the cause. I feel good and bad about it all. She is supposed to find out today her kidney specialist appt. Amen Shad...mmmmmmmmm, I am a bunz and legz woman myself. T has the best legs ever to go with his 6-pak and "other" stuff. hehe. Now I am in need of a shower head, so I would be in debt to the tradies, no doubt. Get to exercising, sounds like you have a full day in store for you girl...no laxing on the porch today. MEL...Hot and humid here today too, (and not caused by the carpet guy)with scattered T-storms. My garden needs the rain anyway, and when I am inside at work, I could care less what it is doing outside. Tonight is my first night at CVS, of course it will be 4 hours of watching videos. How boring...then Thursday night will be register and stocking shelves training. Mgr said there is a bit of cleaning involved at closing time. . My eyes lit up. Wahooo, I will rock on that one. hehehe. Will have two nice size cucumbers out of the garden tomorrow. Cukes are growing rather slowly. Got another nice size zuchinni bout ready. Mators still green but hinting on the verge of turning. I have about 20 jalapenos ready for picking, hoping to hold out till the mators are ready...My basil has gone mostly to seed, weird. Must be the weather. Last year I had fresh basil till the end of September. Hey to everyone. love and hugs, |
Happy Tuesday ladies -
I am determined to lose those 2 lbs I gained last week (and hopefully more). I did really well over the weekend and have used very few of my extra weekly allowance of points. Today and tomorrow, I'm going to limit the sodium intake too (so my Wednesday and Thursday weigh ins will be better). Yesterday, I went for a walk at lunch, and went to the gym after work for another 30 minutes of cardio. I hope to get a walk in today at lunch, depends on how warm it is. And I plan to go to the gym tonight as well, then come home and do more website work. I'm so glad my work hours are now 6:30 to 3:30. Sure, it's difficult to get up at 4:30 or so, but getting home by 4 and having time to go to the gym, spend time in the sun playing with the doggies, and get other stuff done makes it all worth it! Annie - I love riding the lawn mower, going fast and doing donuts around the trees! Makes the stripes on the lawn look weird, but I have fun! Shad - That is sad that the factories and workshops are pushing the wildlife out. At what price, progress and economic expansion, eh? My website has taken a back seat to those of a couple paying clients, one in particular is keeping me very busy the past few weeks. I should have my website done by the end of the month at the latest. After working on 'puters all day/all week, there's only so much time I want to spend on them at home, especially when it's nice outside. Ooooh, so you saw some nice legs and butt scenery on your jog? NICE! What did the rest of him look like? Was he a keeper? ;) Mel - I can just see us drag racing in Memphis, you in your chair and me on my mower! I wonder whose vehicle would be faster? Of course, I'd have to resist the urge to do donuts! I love doing donuts! Gonna sign off for now. A big  and  to everyone! Love and hugs, |
Annie - you snuck in! So sorry to hear about your mom's kidney, but at least she has a good one yet. Good luck on your first night at CVS. Try and stay awake during the videos. As for veggies, mine better ripen soon. We're only 6-8 weeks or so away from the first frost. :yikes:
|
Good morning all,
I overslept this morning so no time to post. Will catch up later. Have a good Tuesday. |
Wow, we just got pounded by severe thunderstorms, lightening, and high winds. One house in Brownsburg burnt due to lightening. Lights flickered on and off at work. Unfortunately they stayed on so couldn't go home. lol It was an awesome storm especially watching it from this 7th floor office.
|
Annie - Sorry to hear about the house in Brownsburg. I hope no one was injured. Looking at the radar, it seems like all is quiet everywhere else in the Midwest, except for Indiana! Lucky you! I hope it doesn't make driving home a b*tch. Be careful on the roads, girlfriend. BTW, I sent you a PM.
|
Morning all,
Between thunderstorms and sleeping in, you lot have had a bit of action over the day. Annie - sorry to hear of the problems with Mum, but she still has one working kidney. Isn't the human body wonderful. Two of most things in case on doesn't work properly. Of course there are exceptions. Lets hope that she stays on track from now on. My basil is growing really fast. It's not the normal basil - it's called limelight and has completely different leaf structure. Still smells and tastes the same tho. The chocolate mint is moving along as well. Tastes good with strawberries. Michelle - still keeping busy I see. I'm sure those two pounds will drop off easily enough once you start coming to grips with them. Good on you for getting the websites up to date. Mel - Friday your time it is. No problem. I just need to get the exercise out of the way first. Happy - sleeping in huh - did you get up to skulduggery overnight? Oh and while I think about it. Mel would you like to explain why Happy's DH will serenade her just because he has a new camera. With the guitar I might have accepted the statement, but cameras don't always make good music. For a while it was actually fashionable over here to build a yurt to live in. Some of them are very big. One of them even went to the limit when it was put on rails and it actually turned around. I mean how much money do you really need to spend to be different. They are supposed to have therapeutical and magical qualities. I look forward to seeing movies (from the camera) of the glowing yurt with shadow plays moving around inside it. On the other hand, maybe that should be :censored: I didn't get to see the butt and legs owner. I don't know what the face is like. I just know what the backside looks like. He came up behind and passed me while I was detouring around some old folk out for a morning shuffle. But the view was good from where I was. I thought about going out and lying in wait this morning but got up too late due to the fact I was reading for most of the night. Okay - so off we go again. I had lunch with the DS2 and the niece and niecelet yesterday. It was fun. I need to do that again - talk about a doting grandad. Yuk. Believe me this child is twice blessed with at least 6 times the normal brain cells and is the most gorgeous thing that life ever put his way. Mind you if it keeps him out of the pubs, clubs and casinos, the niece can have as many as she likes. Gotta go. Things to do, places to go, people to annoy. |
Shad
As far as I know the birthday uncle is good. His son had come in for the week end and they decided to celebrate at home. Happy You over slept also. I took a .5 xanax for the first time last night and went into a deep sleep. I don't remember the alarm going off this morning when I woke up at 6.18 a.m.(groggy I might add.) Then at 6.30 a.m. the alarm blared. Mel and Michelle The thought of you two drag racing in Memphis cracks me up. Annie I also thought about you when I checked the radar this morning. The news said that part of streets Kentucky near the Indiana border were flooded. Going home when th power goes out sounds good to me. I hate answering the phone during a thunder storm. I realize this sounds a bit bad on my part but I will either go to the gym tonight or turn out the lights to hide from my neighbors down the street. I just don't have the time or energy to deal with them during the days I work. When I get home 7.15 p.m. and try to be in bed by 9.30 p.m. doesn't give me a whole lot of time. I think they watch for me to get home. They may sit and talk or mainly watch tv till almost 8.30 sometimes 9 p.m. From what they tell me some of the other people are doing them this way also. You get tired of it. |
Busy day today.
Annie - I'm so sorry to hear about your Mom's illness. What a bummer. Diabetes is a very insidious disease. I hope she will be ok. I know what you mean about watching the storms from a high up building. Kinda cool unless you see a tornado :yikes: Hope you got home ok. Ceejay - hope you escaped the neighbors. Some people don't seem to want to "listen and or care" as my friend would say - that others go to bed very early because they rise very early. It's true when you get home so late, you barely have time to relax before it's off to bed. Shad - love the term niecelet - that's a good one!!!! Glad you have a good time - you've been needing some fun in your life. As for DH serenading me - he did - with the new guitar, I just didn't know it  He got his new camera today and is trying fast to learn how to use it. As for shadows in the yurt - between me and DH it will look more like the Ghostbusters characters than 2 sexy shadows  Michelle - hope the DH is feeling better - that was quite a tumble he took! And good for you for jumping on those 2 extra pounds to make sure they don't mate and have a population explosion. I don't envy you getting up at 4:30 but you are right about coming home early and having the evening available longer. Is this just for the summer? Sure is hard to get up on a frosty morning at 5am when it's pitch black and cold outside - even if it is peaceful and the stars are brilliant. Please cross fingers for us - I so want to see the meteor shower Tuesday or even Wednesday night and it's looking like storms are moving in :tantrum: In other news - we have a big fat black swallowtail butterfly caterpillar happily munching the parsley. It's one of the practice subjects DH is testing out his new camera on. We have a swing up by the pool. Sometimes I sit out there with the cat and watch the bats and get a bit of fresh air. At least until the mosquitos chew me up. Thought I had a mosquito bite on my leg to match the multitude on my arms and hands. I looked at it today and was horrified to find a large red (like a bad sunburn) mark bigger than my entire hand all around the base of my right leg. There is a darker spot in the center about the size of a U.S. quarter. I hussled in to the doctor - it's a spider bite. Fortunately not one of the bad necrotic spiders like Brown Recluse or Black Widow but it sure is ugly. And it half hurts, half itches. Doc gave me another antibiotic - just got off of one last week. My poor system will be in shambles. We have alot of spiders this year and up to this point I have had a you leave me alone, and I'll do the same. I guess I have to be more careful. While waiting in the waiting room, there was a nice looking fellow of about 21 years old sitting across from me. The receptionist called out "Mr. Pigg, will you come to the front please". He got up and walked over. Because I am immature, I immediately got a fit of the giggles. I had to hide my face in the magazine I was reading because the more I thought about it, the funnier it got. Now what fair maiden will ever want to be called Mrs. Pigg? I have one minor rant. Why is it that doctors prescribe you medicine but don't tell you much about it? I found out with this antibiotic you need to really up your intake of fluids so that you don't get "sediment" in your kidneys which can develop into kidney stones. So at least until we leave next week, I will be chugging extra water .... and yogurt! Time to hit the sack. Sweet dreams everyone. |
Happy Hump Day, ladies!
What a loooong day yesterday! After work, I had to finish up some website changes for a client that took me nearly 3 hours. Then, even though I was exhausted I had some simple changes to do for 2 other clients (which took about 10 minutes each), so I knocked those out of the park as well. I finally got downstairs, ate a SmartOne dinner and relaxed and watched TV with DH. I didn't get to the gym. I was planning on going after the website work...but was just too tired, hungry and cranky, plus it was too late. Luckily, I did get for a nice brisk walk on my lunch hour yesterday. And also luckily, I didn't have any snacks near my home computer, so I wasn't tempted to eat. Getting snacks would've involved going downstairs and then coming back upstairs and I just didn't have the time. I'm planning on getting to the gym tonight for cardio (either that or take the doggies for a walk), and then tomorrow, I've got a meeting with my trainer, so I'll be doing cardio and strength training. Annie - How did your first day at CVS go? Thanks for responding to my PM. Shad - I've never heard of limelight basil. And I've heard of chocolate mint, but never knew of any good uses for it. Thanks! A yurt house that turns around? Awesome! Now that you mention it, I've heard about the therapeutic and magical qualities of yurts too. As for the butt and legs owner...sometimes it's grand to just enjoy the scenery, even if you can't see all of it! ;) Ceejay - It doesn't sound bad to hide from the neighbors when you just need time to relax and decompress. It's nice to have friendly neighbors, but do they need to visit EVERY NIGHT. That would get old for me too. On work evenings, I like/need my relaxing time (of course, lately I've been spending it doing website work!) Happy - You cracked me up with the shadows looking like Ghostbusters characters! DH is feeling a little better, thanks for asking. He still has some pain, and his doc says no riding the mower. We were chatting yesterday about who is going to shovel snow this winter as my back is getting better and he injured his. I told him that he needs to get his back better...because I ain't shoveling and risking being in pain for years. So far, my hours sound like they'll be permanent. And since I'd have to get up in the dark on the bitter cold winter mornings anyway (our days are pretty darn short here), it's okay by me. Plus, it should still be a little light out when I go home in the winter. The Sun doesn't typically set until 4 or 4:30 in the winter...so driving home when it's light will be a plus, and I'll get to avoid all the traffic jams. :) With early hours like mine, I've kind of resigned myself to working out after work...even though they say morning exercise is better as your day doesn't get in the way and excuses don't pop up. There's no way I could wake up earlier than I do. My fingers are definitely :crossed: that you'll be able to see the meteor shower. Sorry to hear about your spider bite. I got a bad bite on my wrist by a Wolf Spider about 10 years ago and the docs were worried it was going to go necrotic. As for Mr. Pigg, it is my belief that he will either FOREVER be single or his future wife will NOT change her name. Keep downing the water and yogurt, girlfriend, and you should be all good for your vacation! That's all for me for now, chickies! I'll check in with y'all later or tomorrow! Love and big hugs, |
Happy Wednesday/Hump Day/Trash Day...
Since I worked at CVS last night, T didn't come over, had to take my own trash out this week. lol. He is so good about taking the trash out and he doesn't even live there. What a set up I have. Shad...awwww I love babies. Your niecelet sounds so sweet. All that storming and rain yesterday, I looked out the back door and I have a zuchinni that grew 3 inches over night. I can't wait to get home tonight and check out the rest of my little garden. Ceejay...yes the storms rocked Indiana last night. My power went out yesterday at home at some point, but was back on when I got home. All the clocks were blinking and had to be reset. I used to have a neighbor that I had to hide from too, she would come over and ask me to make coffee to boot. Nervey. Happy...I collect butterfly things and love butterflies. Be sure to post hubby's pictures. Mr. Pigg. Actually, when I used to live in Putnam County, Indiana, you know the type of area, all in-breds and backwards, there was a woman married to a dude, but she kept her maiden name to go by. It was Pigg. Her first name was Tavia. (T long A, veee short a). Tavia Pigg. lol Chelle...CVS was great last night. 4 hours of reading and answering questions. Also involved was a scavenger hunt. Got a list of items to go find on the shelves to familiarize oneself with the store. That was kind of fun and a break in the reading. Tomorrow night is register training. Sounds like you kicked b*tt with the website work. Are you rolling in the dough now? lol. Working at the computer is tiring enough. My eyes get to burning. Do you have that? Got roast, tators, onions, corn and peas in the crockpot today. Going home to dinner all ready. T is coming over to give me a back rub and for dinner. More for the dinner, I think. Not much else going on here, gray and 80 today, no rain/storms. The weekend is killing me as I have to work Sat and Sun at CVS and it is supposed to be sunny and 90/95 both days. Dang it. Oh well life goes on. Hello to everyone. Love and Hugs |
