Happy Trash Day....I mean Hump day....hehe
Well let me tell all ya'll sumpin. Calcium tabs constipate me.....however, I forgot to take it yesterday and this morning all H broke loose. I was 45 minutes in the bathroom and 45 minutes late to work. I do feel better now tho, like I got all the yuck out of my system....I think I could run around the block or something. I know, I know, TMI...lol, but MEL always appreciates my poo reports as she relates to them. LOL Very excited....Garden news....Two ripe tomatos, a cucumber, tons of jalapenos, banana peppers, lettuce and spinach all harvested from the garden last night.....My tomatos are now starting to turn on a regular basis, soon I will have overload. Slow day at work today, good thing as I am not in the mood. Probably will show up here several times today unless something comes at me with urgency. MEL...Poor T starve...that will be the day. I won't mention that I am making him PB cookies for dessert cause food ideas get to Chelle..haha Got all my veggies chopped and rice cooked as cold rice makes for better fried rice/stir fries, last night so tonight I just have to get em goin' Chelle...look at the bright side of the twinge of back pain.....at least it went away as before it did not. Yeah...V I C T O R Y...I like the poem, but I must say a good swift kick in the arse works better for me. Ceejay...I hear you and Chelle about the barametric headaches. I usually have one for about a day before I realize what the H is causing it. On goes the air conditioner at home and a good nights sleep gets me back on the headache free path. Shad....if you are getting hearing aides, you might want to match your glasses rather than your hair, cause we all know that a woman's hair color changes all the time. lol Men, they think they control us, good for you on the recruiter situation, you go girl, get the work where you can...and I know all about the "don't want to work but must" stuff. Happy...hope you are enjoying the vaca. Have fun! Laura...hope life is good for you today. Patty...Hidee ho to you sista. Hey to anyone I might of missed. Love and hugs, |
Annie - Your garden fresh veggies sound wonderful, as does dinner and dessert tonight. I hope you have a great (and quiet) day at work today. :)

Ham Fried Rice...
Green pepper-chopped Onion or green onions-chopped Mushrooms-chopped Carrotts-chopped Clove Garlic-chopped or minced Frozen peas White/Brown or any rice you wish Desired amount of ham- Chopped Two eggs Soy Sauce Olive Oil (I do not use amounts, I just put as much as I like of ingreds) Cook rice prior then refrigerate. Cold rice makes for better fried rice as it tends to separate and not be mushy. Cook up some ham...I used some I had frozen from a pitch in. Scramble two eggs-chop up. Tiny bit of olive oil in large fry pan or wok...saute' green peppers, onions and carrotts till half done then add mushrooms and garlic, throw in frozen peas. (You can add any veggies you want) (I also sauted a banana pepper and jalapeno as I had them from the garden) Add olive oil as needed. If you cover with lid while saute-ing, you probably won't have to add olive oil. Once everything is sauteed....add rice, ham, scrambled eggs and desired amount of soy sauce, careful as soy sauce is salty. You could actually throw in some butter if you want to, but it is not diet friendly. Let cook till juices are mostly absorbed. (Hence fried rice) That should do it. Eat'em up!! |
Yummmm, thanks for the recipe, Annie!
|

HAVE A GOOD NIGHT, SWEET DREAMS :cloud9: AND HAVE A GREAT DAY TOMORROW :moped: GOOD MORNING SUNSHINE :sunny: |
Hello everyone!
Just popping in to say hi. I had a nice enough 3-day weekend, but this workweek has been atrocious. I'll catch up on the thread sometime this week hopefully! |
My hearing is gone, my eyes are going, my mind has disappeared into the never never. Just don't seem to have much time these days and it is not as if I am frantically doing things all day long either. Silly me.
I promise to be back early tomorrow morning. |
Hi everyone -
This will have to be a quick post for me today...super busy at work. The systems were down most of yesterday, and today is a short day with a department team building outing in the afternoon. I've been going to the gym every day since Sunday and doing at least 1/2 hour of cardio plus ab exercises, and I added strength training Monday and last night. So I'm going to take a break from the gym tonight...gonna be getting home later than usual due to the work outing, so I think I'll just play with the dogs in the backyard or maybe take them for a walk. It's gorgeous weather and I haven't taken much time to play outside with them...too busy at the gym I guess. And since yesterday I did 1/2 hour walk during lunch, plus the 1/2 hour cardio and 20 min. strength training at the gym, I think a day off (but just one) will do me good. I've been feeling sort of funny the past couple days. I normally don't eat breakfast until I get in to work (I bring an whole wheat english muffin with reduced fat PB and about 1/2 cup fat free cottage cheese). Yesterday, I started feeling a little hungry when I left the house and by the time I got to work (1/2 hour later), I was dizzy and nauseous and feeling like I was going to be sick even though there wasn't anything in my tummy. Then last night, I got up at about 1:30 am to let the dogs out and got that same dizzy, nauseous feeling again (no I'm NOT preggers). I thought it might be blood sugar, so I ate an english muffin with PB, and that seemed to help...but then I felt like that again when I got up to go to work...so I ate part of my brekkie at the house. I think I'm gonna dig out my blood sugar test kit - if I can find it - and test my sugar when this happens. Maybe all the exercise this week is causing my body to use the insulin more efficiently than it's used to thereby lowering my blood sugar almost too much. Or maybe I'm not eating late enough at night (I usually stop eating by about 7 or 7:30) to give my body enough fuel to last until morning. Anyone have any ideas? Has this happened to any of you? Mel - Have fun shopping today! Glad to hear everyone had fun at the Fair. Shad - When you find your mind in the never never, can you pls see if my mind is there too? Thanks! Laura - Glad you had a nice long weekend. Isn't it always the case that when you take time off you just have to play catch up when you get back. Annie - How was dinner with T? Are you having gorgeous weather now like we are? It's warm but not too hot, and really low humidity. It's supposed to be like this through Saturday at least! :woohoo: Well, gotta sign off...too much to do and so little time. Love and hugs to all, |
HELLO ALL...yelling on SHAD's hearing behalf...lol
MEL...Mr T came over on his ride. SOooooooooo, we went for a 2 hr ride and love every minute of it. He only got the fried rice as the bike ride took up the time I was going to make the PB cookies. Neither one of us needed them anyway. He was most happy with the fried rice and I sent some home with him for lunch today and dinner last night for the boys. Whew when you said you were running out of cotton squares I thought you meant toitie paper, not face wipes. SHueweee that was a close one. Happy shopping!! SHAD...you are only as old as you feel, so don't feel too old. Having a mind is overrated anyway. Laura...hidee ho girl. Catch ya on the fly. Chelle...waddup girl...exercising or sleeping? hehe. Nell (a gal I work with, older lady that I call MeeMaw) went to the Indiana State Fair yesterday afternoon with her hubby. Said she tried the chocolate covered bacon and it was quite yummy. Bleck. Why would you want to eat nasty ole chocolate and to cover something as good as bacon with it. Just baffles me. Gotta work tonight at CVS, hope I am not too tired as I was up 4 times last night with charlie horses in my left calf, foot and toes. OMG it hurt. Nothing but walking it off would stop it. I take potassium tabs (prescribed), so don't know what was up with that other than I wore stilletos yesterday and hadn't worn them in a week or so. Of course, I have them on again today. Just lookin to torture myself. Hello to everyone. Much love and many hugs, |
Chelle...you sneaker inner you. How about joining me in the breakroom for some fresh coffee?? I am heading that way.
|
LAURA~ NEVER TRY TO CATCH UP WITH US...JUST JUMP IN~ HOPE THE WEEK EASES UP FOR YOU.
SHAD~ IT'S THE UNWINDING OF HAVING SO MANY JOBS AND BEING AWAY FROM HOME FOR SO LONG. THAT'S MY THEORY. SO REST UP AND JUST TAKE THE DOWN TIME AS A GIFT FROM THE GODS AND RELAX :yoga: :beach: MICHELLE~ I HAVE LOW BLOOD SUGAR AND YOUR SYMPTOMS SOUNDED LIKE IT. ARE YOU ON ANY DIABETIC PILLS? MAYBE YOU NEED TO GO BACK TO AND HAVE A LOOK SEE. KEEP CRACKERS AND JUICE WITH YOU WHEN YOU GO OUT. I TAKE A SAMMIE AND JUICE...EVEN IF I DON'T EAT IT, AT LEAST IT IS THERE. GOOD LUCK TODAY. :cofdate: IT'S RAINING SO I CANCELED SHOPPING. I AM OFF TO EAT AND THEN LIE DOWN. THIS STORMY WEATHER IS KILLING THE SINUSES. SO IT WILL BE A DO NOTHING DAY TODAY :beach: HAPPY THURSDAY :moped: |
ANNIE...YOU SNEAKER INNER YOU TOO! NO, THANK GOD I WASN'T OUT OF TP!!! GOD FORBID! HOPE THE CHARLIE HORSES LEAVE YOU ALONE TONITE. WHAT A PAIN. SO GLAD TO HEAR TONY WAS SATED WITH GOOD FOOD EVEN IF YOU FELL DOWN ON THE JOB OF MAKING COOKIES   GET THOSE STILETTOS OFF...YOU ARE TALL ENOUGH WITHOUT THEM!! HAPPY CVS-ING TONITE.
|
Annie - I'm right with ya' to the breakroom for coffee! Take off the stilettos and give those dawgs a rest. Is T aware that you spend your nights with some guy named Charlie Horse? I hope your work day (and work evening) go very well.
Mel - I'm not on any diabetic pills...and my blood sugar was normal the last time I checked (2 or 3 months ago at the docs). But that was before I started gettin' really serious about weight loss and exercise. Thanks for the suggestion about keeping food on hand. I'm just nervous about adding more food intake points...but better than passing out, I guess. :faint:  You take care of yourself today...rest those sinuses and the eyes too while you're at it. |
Chelle...sounds like low blood sugar to me. Just a few swigs of OJ will do it. Losing weight and exercising can change your sugar levels. Be careful...and don't let this be the downfall of your wonderful progress. Yeah, I don't think T will take kindly to ole Charlie...he is adament about being faithful...lol
MEL...I am only 6 foot tall with stilettos. and you know what, I LIKE IT...hehe, some short men are intimidated by it. Weird cause I am the same person at 5'9.5 or 6'. Just a little taller about it. Boo on the rain. We are back to hot and humid. YUCK! Nothing like a good ole sinus headache. Hugs all |
Thanks for the tip, Annie. 6' tall, huh? While I wish I had long legs, or the illusion of long legs, even in stilettos I would only be about 5'4" (still short) and on crutches from the sprained ankle I'd get trying to walk in those things! So I'll stay happy with being a vertically challenged, but completely comfortable, 5'1.5". :)
|
I'm sitting here at my desk after WW weigh in trying, unsuccessfully, to hold back the tears. I ate within my points EVERY DAY. I worked out EVERY DAY! and I'm up 1.8 lbs.
I'm noticing the difference in how my face looks and how my pants feel (they are looser), but I'm going up on the scale. I want to get to 199 by Christmas and I just wish the scale would reflect all the positive changes I'm making and all my hard work! My WW leader said it's just muscles retaining water from all the exercise, but dang it! I expected a 1 to 2 lb loss because of all my hard work not a nearly 2 lb gain! Heck, I'm staying within my points and exercising so much, I've been having low blood sugar episodes the past couple days...so how am I supposed to eat less and exercise more to get the scale to move in the right direction?! Thanks for listening to my rant. I'm sure I'll be my usual upbeat cheery self by tomorrow...or maybe even later today. But right now, I'm frustrated and :censored: p**sed off! |
Ah Chelle....I am sorry. Sometimes what we do one week doesn't show up till the next week on the scale. Give yourself time and a HUGE pat on the back as you have been so good about eating right and exercising. I bet next week will be different. You are the exercise, eat right rock star!! Shake it off, buck up bucko, and move on. Giddy up Girl!!
|
Thanks, Annie! You're awesome! You always know just what to say (and how to say it) to cheer me up. I'm still going to take tonight off from the gym and just play with the doggies...but I'm going to shake off the bad scale and just keep rockin' on. :) I mean, you said I'm a rock star and that's what rock stars do, right? Rock on.
|
Michelle - I posted on the challenge thread, but Annie is right and it will no doubt show up in different ways on different days. As long as the clothes are looser (provided they are not old and stretched) then you are losing inches and that is just as important as losing weight. Forget that weight is the only objective. Size is just as important because size takes into account the type of body you have whereas the scale doesn't. I can remember when I was really into it, my clothing size went right down to a 10 but my body weight was still right up there. I am never going to be thin - I have a big bone structure (thanks Dad) but looking on the bright side, I don't break bones easily and don't have osteoporosis (thanks Dad). So the scale, while it may not lie, does not tell the exact truth. It is simply an easy way to measure progress. Try taking measurements and see where the gym and doggie walking and exercise are melting away the size. Taking two sets of measurements (weight and size) means that even if you have been good and the rotten weight is up, then the tape measure should show a downward trend. However if you are just trying to fool yourself, those results will show as well.
I used to keep a series on graphs on excel and it always amazed me that while the darned weight went along a very narrow path, the measurements of chest, waist, hips and thighs went on a downward trend. Very pleasing that. I should do it again! I even put a picture behind the graphs. This was my goal. If I got to the target size, then I could get to go to the place in the picture. Good visualisation that. Annie - I would have thought that the fried rice would have been enough. Cramp sometimes means that you are lacking in salts. No doubt the potassium will help. My mother used to have the problem. I rarely do, but on the odd occasion it is very annoying. Laura - Holiday weekends can get to you. Makes for a hard week afterwards. Mel - I don't have much of a problem on the phone, except for those silly little girl voices receptionists seem to deem necessary and of course those speak at 50 words to the second (are they getting paid by the word???) and I can never work out whether I have the right company or not. However getting to be a grumpy old woman, I now say things like WHO? WHAT? Your voice is good on the phone and after the first couple of WTF we understand each other quite well I think. After that last marathon, I should never have a problem again. Hope Happy is having a good time and that she got to see the meteor showers last night. Patty must be living it up and celebrating her new job. Hi Ceejay too. Well its rubbish day here and I have had to chase the garbo down the street towing the wheelie bin. Maybe that will count as exercise??? Yesterday I found the trim tile for the loo but it won't arrive before Tuesday so I am finding other things to do. That's not hard. Always find something to do around here. I can grout the bottom tiles anyway and there is always something to paint. Sometimes I feel like the Navy. If it moves - salute it. If it doesn't move - paint it!!! Today I need to make the decision on the ear trumpet. The colour is a non event and I will choose a skin coloured one. Not that they are very visible anymore. This tiny little plastic bit (coloured) with a small transparent tube which comes over the top of the ear and tucks inside (only bit that is actually visible) Hard to believe the price when you see the size, but then they say that about diamonds too don't they. Meantime, its coffee time and then a list of that which is to be done and then action. See ya. |
Michelle
And Shad is right, inches to me are a better measurement of weight loss. At least you realize that you are tightening up the fat. I have a very bad habit of stepping on the scale every morning. Shad I'm still counting down the days. Tomorrow is day 6. My boss has been very good to me this week. He's not expecting me to give the 100 percent that I try to on a daily basis. If I did he'd be carrying me to the emergency room and I for one do not want this. I did it, I did it. I thought the girls (mother and daughter) would have mowed the lawn today and they were almost finished when i got home. One was waiting to follow me inside but I paid her and told her that I would not have a day off until next Thursday and after I ate dinner which I had in my hand I would be going to bed. I did not let them inside. My aunt will be proud of me. Tomorrow our department is going to have a safety luncheon. I'm not sure what it will be. Also one of our bosses and his co-worker have been to class this week(for continuing education) and the co-worker has passed his class 4 waste water. Any way I'm assuming his is waste water--that's the department he's working in. Mel Sorry you had to cancel your shopping trip. Annie Wow 5.9. I'm envious of any one taller than 5.1. Get Tto massage those feet. I'm off to the shower and then to bed. I have a slight headache also. Yes the xanax has been taken. |
Hi Ladies -
Only time for a very quick check in to say THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH! I'm doing way better emotionally. I'm going to keep doing what I'm doing, except for watching out for the sodium. And I'm going to take my measurements so I can track inches as well as pounds and sizes. I've got a horrible sore throat today and a fever. I'm going into work for awhile but probably not the whole day. Ceejay - Good for you for standing up for yourself and not letting them in to chat. Your free time is to precious to spend it doing stuff you don't want to do. Shad - Glad you found the loo tile trim. And yes, chasing the garbage truck does count as exercise. Good luck with the ear trumpet. A big  to Annie and Mel (who I'm sure will be checking in soon) and to everyone else! Lots of love and hugs, |
TGIF..kinda...danged ole staff meeting today..9-Noon. I dread this day every month. Will check in later...gotta get at it.
Hugs |
Annie - a 3 hour long staff meeting??? Sheesh! that's craziness! I hope the rest of your day is better.
|

Just popping in to say hello.
I talked to my Missouri sister last night and Annie they were in Indianapolis for the week. She went with her husband who attended a conference there. We had a safety luncheon today. Food only no topics discussed. Yeah. I overslept this morning. The alarm clock went off but I turned it off and told myself that I just wanted to lay there and went back to sleep. I woke up at 6.30 a.m. left the house by 6.45 a.m. and to work by 7 a.m. It's a very good thing that the traffice lights were in myfavor this morning. Tonight I'm going to bed at 8.30 p.m. These hours are beginning to run me down. Tomorrow I will have 5 days left. I'm very seriously thinking of going on a small vacation in September just by myself for some peace and serenity. |
http://forums.provida.com/forums/sto..._at_a_desk.jpg JUST GOING TO HAVE A RELAXING MORNING AND HAVE A MELIDAY WEEKEND....IF THAT IS POSSIBLE IN THIS HOME OF THE BLUE HAIRED RACE. WISHING EVERYONE A GREAT WEEKEND. :moped:
JEANETTE~ MY FRIENDS HAVE PROBLEMS WAKING UP WITH THE XANAX. THEY JUST WANT TO STAY IN DREAMLAND THEY TELL ME :cloud9: WILL YOU BE WORKING ON YOUR BIRTHDAY IN ABOUT 2 WEEKS? A VACATION ALONE COULD BE JUST THE TICKET :beach: |
Hello Ladies,
Thank you for all the Congrats on the job. Yes, it a very big sigh of relief, but at the same time bitter sweet because some of my co-workers are not being hired. The next few weeks will be hectic because we will be transitioning over. I took Blackie over for his yearly checkup and doctor said he was doing good... He is actually 13 years old...I told vet he sleeps alot, but when he's up he's fiesty and very playful. Ceejay - 5 days left...I think a vacation sounds just great. Mitchellez - I know it's frustrating when you've worked so hard and not see the results. The girls were all right in what they said, but I also wanted to remind you that some results you don't see daily... Like blood pressure going down, cholestrol numbers being lowered... Keep those things in mind. You are doing a great job... your working out, tracking points... feeling great... YOU can do this... Shad - good idea on keeping a graph. Annie - Oh, I don't see how you wear the stilettos... I can bearly wear heels. to everyone, hope your having a great day! |
Mel and Patty
My birthday is on a Thursday which is already my day off. I'm therefore taking 9-2-09 off for that day and yes i'm thinking very seriously about a get away by myself that week end. Mel I've read the xanax insert and it said to get at least 8 hours sleep. The morning I over selpt I did not stick to my newest routine. The routine is working. Now to tell the people who mow my yard that they can't do it any more. I've found someone that will do it for the same price and will also weed eat and do the bushes. I was feeling a bit tired with a headache this morning so I took my blood pressure and I was excited. It was 126/80 and pulse was 84. That's good for me right now under the circumstances. My pulse has been 100 for a long time. I used to think it was the caffiene but now I'm thinking it's my nerve problem. |

Good Morning and Happy Sunday.
Today I have a flower for you all. This wee gem has finally broken out of the bud and the fragrance is just divine. This is Fiona's Wish. Fiona Cootes was and still is the longest surviving heart transplant in Australia. The rose was named after her and proceeds from the sales go to the Heart Foundation. I've had the rose around 3 years and it doesn't flower often, doesn't seem to want to grow very big but survived the drought and neglect quite well. If anyone wants the originals for wallpaper let me know and I will send it on. Good onya ceejay. I hope the new person is much more efficient than that lot. Courage lady. Bet you are really looking forward to the time off. Patty - Sad about the co-workers but that is life. You just have to suck it up and live with it. So glad to hear that Blackie is doing well. Miss puss got a letter from her vet on Friday. It's telling her that she needs her checkup. I don't think she is impressed. Mel - good idea to rest up. Who knows what the week will bring. The Blue Haired race?? Do they still use that stuff? I'm off back to Victoria to blow up the market. Now where do I get Semtex??? Oh yes the market probably. Michelle - there had to be a reason for the gain, and now the cold/flu has appeared, I'd put money on it that is what caused it. It will go away along with the weight. Annie - three hour meetings?? Maybe you should suggest that they do it standing up. Queen Victoria used to keep her meetings short by insisting that the ministers of the crown all stand up for the entire meeting. It's rumoured that the longest was 30 minutes and the shortest 10. Clever old girl. Happy should be coming home soon. I hope she has had a great time and saw the meteors flash past. Nothing like a celestial happening to ensure you feel your place in the world is very small and very insignificant. Okay - that's it. I'm off to clean and clear again. I need to go to the hardware store (Joy Heaven) and get some timber for storing the junk in the roof, and I need to get on with the painting in the loo. This time I might just wear a face mask much as I hate them, but I'm so tired of sinus headaches every morning. See ya |
Shad
The roses are beautiful I'm honestly seeing the light in this long tunnel. Wtih today I have 4 working days left. Looks like everyone is sleeping in this morning. |
Sunday Ceejay - you are up with the sparrows because you are working, I'm here because it is kinder hard to sleep when the x-rated bird chorus starts earlier and earlier. Spring has sprung in my neck of the woods. We are having summer temperatures during the day and it is not even officially spring yet. I might have to go out and get a job so I don't have to run my own a/c.
Not much going on here this morning. It is Monday and the worker bees are all on the way to work and I should be out doing my walk/run/shuffle before it gets too hot. Todays menu calls for painting, cleaning and clearing. The garbo will be busy at my place this week. I also need to de-clutter and work out what is going on with the vacuum cleaners we have around the joint. One doesn't pick up much stuff and the other appears to have a blockage in the tube. I guess I get to take it apart - aargh. Apart from that, nothing much on the horizon today. A check of the job list doesn't give me much joy and I really need to sit down and figure out what I want to do with myself and work out a financial plan and budget. Such fun. |
Hello Ladies,
Had a relaxing weekend, went over to parents yesterday. They were celebrating their 56th Wedding Anniversay. The anniversary is actually today but my brother was in town and was leaving today. Had a good time, ate to much. I'm so blessed my parents are healthy and still movin around. Shad - sounds like you have a full day ahead of you, I hope you got alot done. Ceejay - 4 days left.... |
Hello ladies,
Reluctantly, I am back. Dreading getting back into the "swing of things". Vacation was just FABULOUS :cloud9: The yurt was the most peaceful, relaxing thing I have experienced in a long, long LONG time. When we got out of the car to check in the very first thing I noticed was Quiet. Just the sound of the wind. A very special quiet. The hot tub was wonderful, DH and I had 2 massages which were great. We got two excellent nights of meteor shower viewing. It was a trek getting up the mountain and except for a one day excursion to check out a natural dam, we mostly stayed up on the mountain. I did not miss tv and the wireless internet was not working. DH went to the office to check email, I sat in the hot tub. I told him I could not remember, at least since we moved down here almost 5 years ago, 2 days passing when I wasn't ticked off about something. Instead I was relaxed and refreshed. The only thing to somewhat spoil it was that we are staying afterall in tent like structures (which were incredible BTW) but the walls are made of canvas and sound carries. Wednesday night some people checked into the yurt just uphill of us and as the sun set, many moaning noises started to come out of the yurt. It carried on all night long. Sounded like sexy time for those 2 (it was 2 men) but I told DH HOW many Viagras did they take, was it possible to have sex for THAT LONG? We were sitting out on the deck catching the meteors, it was about 2 am and he said well it sounds like sex noises but... no one could carry on for that many hours straight so maybe they just had an affliction like Tourette's or some thing. :yikes: He said he continued to hear them throughout the night and was certain one of them had a medical problem. Only thing was, they were quiet as quiet could be all Thursday and even when we left Friday morning. We had debated about staying 2 more days at the yurts (wish we would have). But decided to keep to our plans and headed to Heber Springs. This was over in the foothills of the Ozarks, not too far from where we went to the caverns Shad. In fact we we took a drive out that way but didn't hit the caves again. Instead we spent the day at the Folk Center watching artisans doing things the old fashioned way like make wooden toy tops, quilts, paper printing, dolls, brooms, knifes and such. It was very interesting. This was a fisherman's paradise and since we don't fish, there wasn't much to do at all. Our little room at the lodge was cute and cozy but it was on the second floor up lots of stairs and faced west. They neglected to turn the air conditioning on and the place was an oven when we got there in the late afternoon. It took all night to cool down. Then the hot water unit went out and all we got was lukewarm water. The owner was a wonderful lady who really wanted to make the place a nice romantic getaway place for couples and had spend big bucks on special on demand water heaters which she apparently had nothing but trouble with. One of the selling points of this place was a great big spa bath with a jacuzzi. I took a bath anyway even with barely warm water. DH was a sweetie and boiled water in pots on the stove for me so that I didn't chill out. Packed up this morning and headed home. Picked up the cat who for one actually seemed appreciative of us and was affectionate. Mr. Feral hung around the yard and kept an eye on things tho I was surprised that he didn't come out when he heard us and mooch some canned food after 6 days of nothing but dry food. We knew he was out there because Boo went crusing the yard and when she got to the back azaleas we heard the unmistakeable sound of cats screetching at each other. DH went and looked and Mr. Feral was lounging in one of his hang outs. He did come by and nibble at his canned food throughout the evening but I didn't actually see him. So we had a most wonderful time. I am not looking forward to getting back out in traffic with the nut cases tomorrow and getting back in the usual rut. I have a slight case of sciatica that started at the yurt and has come and gone but got worse since climbing the stairs back and forth several times at the cabin the last 2 days. I'm really sleepy now and 6am will come fast so I think I will go find my hair brush and tooth brush and hit the sack. Will catch up on posts tomorrow. Goodnight all. |

Monday..Monday....do do do da doo da doo.....
What a busy, fast, overworked weekend it was. Shuweee, glad to get back to the desk job to re-coup! Weekend went a little different than I had planned. Was gonna go home Friday night and clean, but T called me on my way home and had a deal for me....He came over on his bike Friday night, we ordered pizza and rented a movie..went to bed and actually slept all night long. We got up and went for a 5 hour Harley ride. Stopped in a town that has an awesome restaurant to eat. Mooresville, IN-at Gray Brother's Cafeteria. OMG it was so good. We shared a tenderloin the size of a small breakfast table, then salad, green beans, mashed tatos (with lumps) YUM and gravy. T had coconut cream pie that was a mile high. He had fried tatos. Got home about 2:30..had a little extra activity..hehe...then he left about 3 pm. I cut the grass (not hoe mowed either), tanned came home and died. Sunday I worked 11-7 pm at CVS, went to DD to get hair colored after work, no more got there, T called and had locked his keys in his van, so no hair color, had to go rescue him. Got home at 9pm, cleaned house til 11:00 pm (but got it all done), bed and now here I sit. WOW! Sometimes I even amaze my ownself. Oh stopped at Dunkin Donuts on the way in, had a coupon for a FREE coffee and FREE donut. Like I needed the donut, now I feel fat and guilty for eating it. Why do I put myself through this ****? Anyway, onto the new week......... Happy....Glad you are back and had a marvelous vacation. All relaxing except for the "other tent". Isn't Cialas that has the 36 hour pill? You never know what they were up to. The massages were worth the entire vacation, I love massages...and the meteor shower, how cool! Shad...the flower is a real beauty. I saw it on facebook. Great suggestion on the meeting...standing..however I am positive no one would participate. That staff meeting is only once a month, thank God. Be careful painting the loo, don't get all aerobicized in there and twist your back...hehe. Patty...wearing stilettos is my love now. When I was so heavy and didn't dare wearing them, I swore, no more flat, ballerina shoes. A little vain, but I think stilettos are hot, and I wanted to TRY to look hot. Happy 50th anniversary to momma/da, what a milestone. It is really something to make it that long this day and age. Chelle...off exercising I suppose. You are remarkable with the routine. Keep up the good work and I am POSITIVE you will see results at WW this week. Yeah, a 3 hour staff meeting, probably wouldn't be as long if people didn't ramble because they think they are important and like to hear themselves talk. MEL...what, no shopping on Friday, are you getting the DTs? How was your meli-weekend? My grandma used to have blackish/blueish/purpleish hair. WHen jake was two, he told her, her hair looked like an Easter egg. She said what? as she had hard hearing, and I piped up that he said her hair look pretty. YIKES...she was vain and would of sh*t if she knew what he really said. lol Ceejay...your sister should of called me. I would of squeezed her into my hectic schedule. Any sis of yours is a sis of mine...Let's see is it 4 days left or 3 days left, you don't count the day your are on. This Wednesday is my son's 21st birthday, unfortunately I have to work that night at CVS, but we are planning another "night" out. T and I stopped at Ward's Apparell, a Levi jean outlet and country store. I bought DS a 40$ western shirt. Snapps closed with black pearly buttons and a bolo tie...tie was only 15$. He is just a hick from the sticks. God love his heart. Hey to everyone else....have a terrific Monday All... Much Love and Many Hugs |
Oh and MEL...do not say OH POOP, you know how WE are....hehehe
