Annie - Sounds like your garden really enjoyed the thunderstorms! I looked at my garden today and it's begging to be watered...I'll have to remember to do that before I head out to the gym. As for the website work, I won't be rolling in the dough until the clients pay me. I've got one website client that takes a few weeks or more to pay and the other pays in a day or two. Can you guess which client I like more? :lol3: We're supposed to have 90 degree weather this weekend as well, and DH and I are wondering if it will be too hot to go to State Fair and should we wait until next weekend. I don't do well when the temps are above 85. :faint:
Mel - I don't have the trainer 'till tomorrow, but I am looking forward to it. I want to try and get to the gym more often...this couple times a week is not enough for me. I need my endorphin fix. Hoping you have a great day! Don't overdo, okay? |
Annie - Sorry to hear about your mom's kidney issue. Diabetes is a horrible disease - bf has a diabetic friend who is only in his mid/late 40's and is starting to have kidney troubles. Of course it would help if he took care of himself... CVS sounds good - it's always exciting to learn something new.
Ceejay - I hope you've successfully hidden from your neighbors and had time to yourself to relax and get to sleep early. You have to come up w/ some tactics to nicely discourage these visits! Diyana - Wow, what a schedule - up at 4:30 am for your job and then your side work at night. I don't have that schedule and I would really like it if I could get myself into a morning exercise regimen because, as mentioned, things pop up after work that make it all too easy to have an excuse not to exercise. I'm struggling with getting to the gym more than once or twice a week lately. I definitely need to make the Saturday morning exercise session a standard and strive for 2 weekday workouts. I know that with my dog walks I'm at least moving, but I don't feel like I really get much of a cardio benefit from them. Do your dogs keep you moving, or is it a lot of stopping and sniffing?? Happy - That's a big spider bite. Scary. Hey, I thought bats were supposed to eat all the mosquitos and other insects. Do you have a bat house for them? Not sure if I could tolerate that. We have a mosquito magnet and it's too soon to tell how effective it is. I think it's more like a "Laura repellant" because it's an eyesore in the backyard. Enjoy your stay in a yurt. I'll cross my fingers for clear skies during the meteor showers. Mel - Hope you get your return favors so the wheelchair gets what it needs. My basil is doing well, but I'm not doing much with it right now because I'm waiting for the tomatoes to come in/ripen. I really want to make a tomato/basil/fresh mozz. sandwich on nice crusty french bread with some balsamic vinegar. Shad - So the niecelet is making a changed man of grandad? Sounds like a good thing. Hope you get to see the nice rear view on a future run. It would certainly motivate me to get out there for a run! And I'm not even a runner! Finally a more summery week! Monday I went to the podiatrist for my orthotics - so far so good. We'll see what kind of shoes I can get that will accommodate them. They fit in two pairs of sneakers I already have. Yesterday I went to a movie w/ one other movie group gal. We saw The Ugly Truth. It was better and funnier than I expected and I enjoyed it. Tonight I need to get to the gym. I will tell myself that I only need to do 1/2 hour of something, just go. Maybe I can drag bf there as well - he's truly fallen out of the routine. Looking forward to a hot Saturday because bf and I may spend part of the day in his sister's pool while they are in WI Dells. It was disappointing not to have good enough weather on the 4th of July to use it when we were there for a cookout. :( Okay, I have to skeedaddle now. Have a lovely day everyone. |
Annie - Since you're working at CVS now, I've GOT to tell you a funny story. When I was about 14 or 15, I was a cashier at a pharmacy. And I had a couple embarassing moments, both involving the same product. First time, a guy walks in and asks for "Trojans", well, I'm young and VERY innocent and naive (no, really, I WAS!). I had never heard of Trojans, so I asked the pharmacist where they were and he directed me to where the condoms were. Man, was I blushing!! :o Okay, I figured, I won't let this happen again. I became familiar with the various brand names (not their use though...still sweet and innocent - No REALLY. I was!). Anyway, I thought I had it all handled when a month or so later, a man walked in and asked for prophylactics. What the heck? I didn't even know what Trojans were, how the heck am I supposed to know them by that name. So, again, I asked the pharmacist, who pointed me in the direction. Aw, jeez, how embarassing, AGAIN! :o
Anyway, I just had to share the stories of my sweet, naive, innocent youth! By now you should all be , right? |
Laura - When I walk the dogs there's lots of stopping, sniffing and of course peeing (them not me). But I figure it's better than me not doing any exercise. And if I finish the walk with them and don't feel I've gotten enough cardio, I put them in the house and do the route again by myself. DH and I have thought about putting up a bat house, but not sure if the dogs would handle that many bats nearby. We have a bug zapper in the yard, which helps a little. If you go to the gym tonight, we can work out together (sort of) at two different gyms of course. Does that make any sense? :dunno:
|
Chelle..how funny...you innocent...really you were. lol Get this...I got bussed halfway across town when in elementary to school # 69 and they were the Trojans....hahaha
|
So your affiliation with Trojans started REALLY early, eh girlfriend? ;)
|
I went to Kelly High School - home of the .... yep, you guessed it TROJANS. See, we travel in separate but similar circles
That's a funny story Michelle. I remember being a little kid and my aunt sent me to the store for Kotex pads. Of course they put them on the 3rd shelf - far above my reach. I tried my best but finally had to accept a hand from the much older, cutest stock boy ever. I wanted to die because back then, we were embarassed about everything. :o :o :o Actually I'm surprised they didn't just ask for rubbers. I'm also glad to hear that you don't walk down the street and pee on your neighbors mailboxes  It was quite cute the way you phrased that - gave me a good giggle. Have you considered a snow blower - we got my mom a Toro small sort of like electric shovel kind of thing. It sounds like neither you nor DH are in a position to shovel. I think you need to set some quicker payment terms with the one website client. I know you don't want to antagonize anyone but they expect the content updated quickly so they should hold up their part of the deal too. Laura, depending on the shoes you wear, there is a full orthotic that fits in sneakers or the loafer type of shoe - that's what I have. I guess they also make a 2/3 style that works in pumps. It must be that many people have orthotics now because they are making more shoes with removeable footbeds to accomodate that. Or the cushy pads for our sore feet! We don't have a bat house in our yard tho DH was thinking of putting one up in the trees. There's only 2 or 3 bats that we see so I'm wondering if someone has a bat house nearby. Bats do eat bugs but there's way more bugs than a bat can eat. Spiders eat bugs too - when they aren't chewing on your leg which is why I generally would leave them alone :D Your sandwich sounds delicious - I will have to try that. We had a free pass to see an early screening of the Ugly Truth but had a conflict for that night. Glad to hear it was good. Is it a chick flick or just a fun comedy? Mel - I heard that cilantro was difficult to grow. I planted some and within 2 weeks it was starting to turn to seed. WTH???? The dill has a short growing season too. Why do you keep waking me up so early????? Hope you don't have to hang around the office too long today. Annie - I will have to post a link to DH's webshots site. He's got tons of butterfly pictures. I guess you are quite a ways from Chicago but they have a nature museum on the lakefront by Lincoln Park zoo that has a room with live butterflies in it - The Judy Istock Butterfly Haven at the Peggy Noteabart Nature museum. It's just the coolest place - well actually it's quite warm and humid in there but you know what I mean. A scavenger hunt at the store - that sounds like fun. I'd get distracted thinking - I need this and THAT and ooh look at that  Have fun with register training. My first job ever was at Sears Roebuck downtown. I am so old that it was before they invented electronic cash registers. We literally had to hit a bunch of keys to ring up the sale which meant we had to be able to figure out which keys to ring up $1.39 and had to know how to make correct change. And those damn registers were set up very high on the counter! Just before Christmas in 1971 they switched over to the first electronic registers which delighted us kids but scared the old timers. Had to smile at your zuchinni growing so fast. She will come home from work Sunday and it will be peeking into the house from the kitchen window  Shad - chocolate mint BASIL??? That's interesting. I was just thinking it was mint. I just finished lunch. They have this great apple "salad" in the cafeteria. Near as I can tell it's a couple of kinds of chopped apples (sweet and tart), mixed with a liberal dousing of yogurt, cinnamon and some finely chopped peanuts. It's so good I consider it dessert. Yum. I could probably make it myself for about 23 cents but no, I have to go pay $1.49 for a small cup. Yes, feel free to call me a dummy. It's more the matter of REMEMBERING to make it the night before so I can bring it. Hello Ceejay, Patty  back to work for me. |
Happy - We do have a snow blower, but there is always a little shoveling involved. And even with the snow blower, if the snow is the wet heavy stuff, it puts a strain on the blower, which puts a strain on the back. No fun. We'll both just have to get good and strong before the snow flies. Thanks for the tip about the Nature Museum. I hadn't heard of it before, but we do enjoy the butterfly exhibit at the Brookfield Zoo. As for the website client, she's so tempermental, I'm afraid she would just say "shove it" to me if I asked her to pay in a more timely fashion. And right now, the income I get from her isn't worth the risk of ticking her off...maybe after I get a couple more clients. :)
|
Those are funny stories ladies!
Michelle - good idea about continuing the walk w/o the dog(s). Another option could be to allow stopping and sniffing for the first part of the walk and pick up the pace on the 2nd part. I've never deliberately tried that, so I'll see how that goes. I know our dog would enjoy running, but I don't run... It's so nice, I'm thinking I'll probably skip the gym and do a dog walk instead, so maybe we'll be sharing a dog walk instead of a gym session. (I know what you meant.) Happy - I have a full orthotic. I'll have to look for shoes that have removable footbeds. Outside of the athletic shoes category, I wonder what's available. The ones at the podiatrist office look so big and clunky. :( Thankfully, The Ugly Truth wasn't raunchy like Knocked Up, but I think a guy would find the humor entertaining. And I'm sure they wouldn't mind watching Kathryn Heigl. Just like I didn't mind watching Gerard Butler or the other male character. :D |
I'll tell my funny story about "trojans". Our computer at work had been getting viruses. When the boss came in I told him that the computer kept getting 'trojans" and that it was time to install a new virus protector. He asked me who the "blank" was buying "trojans' on line. I laughed out loud. Then after I calmed down I told him that a trojan was a virus. His face turned as red as a beet.
I'm so glad that you all understand about me hiding from the neighbors. I get nervous when I do this. When they come down again I'm going to tell them one more time that I will not be accepting visitors except on my day's off. I'm almost tempted to put a do not disturb sign on the door. Even my aunt has told me not to let them in. I'll b back later. I'ma getting ready to go home. |
Morning all,
Just a quick note for the moment, I have to go out to see if I can fix the DS2's computer. They seem to have lost the internet. Probably because they haven't paid the bill???? As far as condoms go, when I was young and stupid, they were called French Letters. Why, I don't know. Anyway, I remember my French tutor going on about writing letters in french and sending the french letters through the post. We used to get the giggles in that class I can tell you. I presume he knew why, although he was an born in Italy of German parents and was teaching French and didn't have a huge sense of humour that we could see. Gotta go or the day will be wasted. |
Shad - I'd make sure the bill was paid before I put alot of effort into diagnosing DS2's problem
Buddy at work said they got a high priority support call 2 weeks ago near to midnight. Plant could not access the computer system. Plant was also in the midst of a total power black out at the time. Think they were related? :chin: Ceejay - I almost fell off my chair laughing at your story. That is hysterical. :lol3: Laura - you might want to check out Zappos.com just to see some shoe styles that might appeal to you and then go check them out at the store - that's what I do when I see a new brand and I'm not sure how it fits. That's what I did with the MBTs I bought. I know that the Naturalizer brand has removeable foot pads. I actually had to get my orthotic trimmed by the podiatrist as it was too tight of a fit in the shoe. Once he did that, I was good to go in dress shoes. Well pants shoes actually as I have not worn a dress since the 90's. Ok, I gotta get to sleep. Night all. |
I'm so happy it's Thursday!
I didn't get to the gym last night or walk the dogs. Sorry, Laura. I had to stop at the bank on my way home. My ATM/Debit Card expired and I never received a new one. I've called and called to get a replacement, but didn't get one. So I went in to get the card they sent me cancelled and a temporary card issued that I can use until I get my replacement card. The banker asked me some questions and said that she could switch our checking account to one with a lot more perks (like free online bill payment, etc.) and it wouldn't change our checking account number or anything. She also talked to me about a consolidation loan for our credit cards. All good stuff! But by the time I got home, I was really tired and had lots to get done so I didn't get to the gym. Definitely going tonight for at least 30-45 minutes of cardio, 30 min. of strength training and a coaching session with my trainer. :) Laura - I hope you and your doggie enjoyed the walk. Ceejay - Your story was really funny!! Thanks for sharing it. I'll have to tell my DH, who is a computer network guy and deals with viruses and Trojan (horses) all the time! Shad - French Letters, huh? I've never heard them called that. Yes, make sure the bill is paid before spending much time on DS2's computer. Happy - The high priority support call story is TOOO funny! :lol3: I hope you got a good night's sleep and have a great day today! A big  to Annie and Mel, who I'm sure will be checking in soon. I need another cup of coffee or toothpicks to hold my eyes open! I don't know why I'm so tired. TTYL my friends! Love and hugs, |
Funny story ceejay! I like the idea of a do not disturb sign. Reminds me, I think I want to buy a "No Solicitors" sign. I'd rather not deal with them.
Shad - never heard condoms called French Letters. Your poor instructor! But that's all part of what teachers have to deal with. Happy - good idea about checking out zappos for suitable shoes. Let my fingers do the walking first! Michelle - I'm NOT glad it's Thursday - I wish it were Friday! Sorry you didn't get your walk last night. Doggy and I had a wonderful walk. Well, I did anyways. We did almost 30 min. at a quick pace and it was good for me but tiring for him. At just shy of the 30 min. mark, he decided to lay down on someone's lawn. I'd brought water with and he drank it a couple times during our walk. I think he was just a bit warm and the lawn felt good to him. Waves to all and have a good day. :) |
I need to run some errands today. The main thing is to get drivers license and car tags, and gym. I'm leaving when the girls come down to mow the lawn.
Get this they came down to get the money before they mow, to buy lawn mower gas. They show off their new expensive cell phones that supposedly her son bought her. Then she was bragging that her and amanda's food stamps would start the 11th. And that there electric bill would be paid for this month. They asked me if I could take them to get the gas, I told them no. All this other stuff was making me furious. Next summer I'll have someone else mow or I'll do it one. I'm not letting them. Excuse the rant. Happy I'm wondering if that call came from my city. Sounds like something our customers try to pull when they haven't paid their bill. Shad Hope that you get the computer back on line. When I had that problem, Verizon was merging with Alltel. Michelle I love my online banking and my debit card. The debit card is like a credit card but I don't have to pay it back. And a quick check online to see the balance means no time spent on reconsiling bank statements. I really hated this task. I've been to the grocery store this morning and bought some veggies. Yesterday I was on some twinkie binge. I tried the little debbie brownie but they were just too sweet. I've finally pin pointed that these binges come from nerves. I have xanax to take but just didn't want to take it mainly for the fact that it will show up in your blood stream. We are randomly tested for drugs. Starting tonight I'm taking them. Laura The dog will get used to walking as times goes around. How old is your dog? I like Thursday's. It's the first day of my week end. Annie Did you work to hard at CVS? Mel You must be working with the rug installer today. Have a oood day. |
Yay! Great weigh in for me today! I've lost 2.4 lbs, which means I lost the 2.2 I gained last week, plus a little bit extra! :woohoo: I'm sooo happy!!
Laura - Good for you for walking your dog. Did you tell us what type of dog you have? If you have, and I forgot, I apologize. I have 3 Miniature Schnauzers. They're my wonderful "kids". Ceejay - No need to apologize for the rant. Sorry about the nerves. I'm sure you've already tried chamomile tea and other things that don't show up in your bloodstream right? Hang in there, Ceejay. Enjoy your weekend! |
Morning all,
Just eating breakfast following my walk/ jog this morning. I have a lot to do today. Life's just getting faster and faster. Ceejay - sorry to hear of the problems with neighbours and mowing staff. I'm with you about the cheek of some people who seem to be able to get welfare at the drop of a hat when people like Mel and Jen have to fight for what should be rightfully theirs. Here we are encouraged to 'dob people in' which means that if we find welfare people living the high life, we tell the authorities who will investigate. However many people won't for fear of reprisals. Great world we live in hey?? What's the betting they are not declaring their mowing income either. Michelle - way to go on that weight loss. I haven't jumped on a scale for yonks but don't think much is happening there as my clothes still fit the same - all of them! Damn it all. Laura - Don't you just love it when the dog dictates the walk and rest theory. There are some shoes out there that have orthotics. Kumfs is just one of them and they have orthotics made to fit as far as I can remember. Or they have their own to put inside. I've never really checked into that side. I have very wide flat feet (known as paddles) and I need to have a shoe that is wide and padded in the arches. There seem to be 3 types that suit me. Sandler, Kumfs and Homy peds that we talked about earlier. I just can no longer shop at Payless Shoes as they are strictly fashion and no comfort. Apart from which I find they fall apart really easily. Happy - It's chocolate mint and not basil. I'll have to go back and look at what I wrote. Chocolate mint is great with strawberries and it's good for you. Cilantro - known here as coriander isn't hard to grow. Damn stuff goes everywhere. The problem I had was to stop it from going to seed and not getting enough of the leaves to eat. Seeds are still growing in the grass and gravel paths. I wish it wouldn't grow so damn fast. I tend not to grow it anymore. It's one of the few herbs I buy. Mind you the DS2 hates it - so maybe I should grow lots more of it. Annie - guess we won't be seeing so much of you for a while - you are so busy working all hours. Don't wear yourself out reaching for the rubbers now will you. I wonder how the blokes ask for the ribbed and perfumed variety?? I went to have a look at nephews computer yesterday. It is not the bill because the laptop is still working. I think it is because the computer is old and has little space left on the disk. It won't ever do a defrag anymore, there is not enough space. I've deleted all the cookies and emptied the recycle bin and left it doing a partial defrag. I'm having a problem getting in touch with my tame guru at the moment, but I'm fairly sure it is age and space that is causing the problems. Games and music take up so much space today. Anyway, now I am off to shower, prepare a shopping list for next week, clean up in the kitchen, empty the dishwasher, check out the garden, look for work and fertilise the orchids and nodding violets, and finally find out why my vacuum cleaner is not working so well. Bah humbug. Spring is on the way! |

Hi all,
DH needed my car this morning to get more mulch so I had to leave early - no time to post. Swallowtail caterpillar is missing. DH and I searched all over, can't find him. Supposedly they taste awful and emit a smell so birds are not interested in them. I hope that he crossed the parsley into the azalea or the red tip and is busy spinning his cocoon. DH is very bummed out. DH learned a song today on the guitar. Day Tripper by the Beatles. He found some new program online that has the tablature for lots of songs. I was getting tired of scales. Last day of work until vacation. can't wait. Now I need to plan carefully as we are spending 3 and a half days in the yurt then travelling to a nice cabin I found for 2 more nights. We have to bring our own food - hence the planning. I'm thinking we will have a full car and DH will be rolling his eyes at do we NEED this much stuff. Problem is, the answer is  Mel - how do you like that yogurt? So much sugar in the Yoplait. I love it with blueberries and chopped almonds. I'm so glad that you can depend on Wily the way lots of others depend on you. Did you find anything to watch on TV? Seems kind of dry out there. Maybe you should just go to bed and think lovely thoughts of us :cloud9:  Count us jumping over the hurdles - oh what a sight that would be! Shad - seems like there's always a bunch of wiggly things demanding attention - you are always the busy bee of the team. I think something got mixed up in a post about the mint. DH and I went to a garden somewhere and they had several varieties of mint - lemon mint comes to mind. Might have had the chocolate one too. I don't remember where that was tho. That would be interesting with strawberries. Ceejay - something sounds funky with those girls - of course there are people in this world who are takers - get what they can, don't have the ethics like you to earn the money and learn the job. I would never pay someone ahead of the work - unless it was my Mom of course  Michelle - hey you with the great weight loss again!!!! :yay: Good for you! Was was your success reason this week? It sounds like you are back on track again. I'm glad you got a good deal at the bank, almost makes it worth stopping in. I forgot those dumb ATM cards expire! That was a cute story about your dog laying down Laura. Slow down already lady  Annie my friend, I am tired for you just thinking about trying to handle 2 jobs. Even if you will gather some funny customer stories. Don't wear yourself too thin! I got to bed a little earlier last night only to be woken up at 5am with the most wretched Charlie horse in my left leg. I tried to relax it but had to hobble out of bed to stretch it out and it tried to come back when I got back into bed. I just dozed on and off until the alarm went off. Tired now so I'm going to try again. Good night all. |
Good morning chicky babes. Friday at last! :yay: Going to have a busy weekend ahead of me but that's the price you pay for 5 days of relaxing :beach:
Everyone is still sleeping here - DH, Boo and even Mr. Feral is curled up snoozing on his blanket out back. Part of me wants to bang some pot lids - get up, get up, GET UP :yikes: but no, I'll just let them sleep - lucky dogs... um I mean cats  Better get out of her - the sooner I get in the sooner I can leave. Have a good one everybody. |
Happy Happy Friday ladies -
I had a great cardio and strength training evening at the gym and worked out some good short term goals/challenges. Tonight, I'm going to do website work and hopefully we'll get to the State Fair tomorrow...if it's not too hot/muggy or too rainy. No fishing this weekend...definitely too hot for the fish to be biting. I've got a couple huge summer squash in the garden and need to figure out a way to prepare them. The best suggestion I have so far is to slice it up and grill it. I suppose if I prepare it on a day we're not cooking out, I can always use the George Foreman. Shad - I'm not a computer hardwear expert (more of a programmer), but I think your diagnosis is probably correct. Older computers that don't have much space/memory can't handle all the games and music that the newer computers can. If it is too full to successfully defrag, that's a bad sign. Mel - Glad you had a nice trip to TJ's. So nice that Willy is so very helpful, and you're so kind and generous to buy him/his family a lovely dinner. I nearly fell out of my chair when you talked about the seniors stopping sniffing and peeing!! Too Funny!!! Happy - I hope the swallowtail caterpiller turns up soon. That's cool that you're DH can play Day Tripper! It's a much nicer serenade for you than scales! Please take lots of photos on your vacation. It sounds wonderful! I know you're going to have a great time preparing for it this weekend, as well as a lovely relaxing time on your vacation. I'm still sending :goodvibes: for clear weather for the Perseids. As for yogurt, I found the FiberOne yogurt by Yoplait. It's really good and 0 WW points (of course it is a smaller container). I'm just not a fan of plain yogurt even if it's dressed up with fruit and nuts. My reason for success this week was to stay within points EVERY DAY and use very little of my weekly allotment of extra points. Also, I took the stairs a little more at work. This week, the plan is to get more exercise in (cardio, strength and core) which will hopefully combat any food slips at the State Fair. Although to be honest, I've planned what I'm going to eat whenever we do decide to go (this weekend or next weekend) and I should be able to work in those points easily. Also, I got a ton of great ideas at the WW meeting this week about the different foods available now that are low points and make great snacks/meals. Arnold's sandwich rounds (also Oroweat sandwich rounds) is just one of them. Walden Farms has some yummy low point dressings and sauces. And since I still kind of have a craving for bratwurst and sauerkraut (even though I had one last week), I'm going to pick up some turkey brats, and eat the brat with kraut without the bun (or on a sandwich round). Good stuff!!! Annie - As Happy said, please don't wear yourself out. I hope you're doing well and will get some fun and relaxing time this weekend!! How is momma doing? Ceejay - It really irks me when people look for a hand out, rather than a hand up (a little help to get them on their feet). I don't have a problem at all with helping those who need it, but people who take advantage of the system really make me mad. :tantrum: Anyway, girlfriend, I hope you're enjoying your weekend!! Are you going to Paragould this week? Laura - Hope your x-rays came out okay. Did you get the results yet? Anymore dog walks? I'll get at least a couple in this weekend fer sure. Counting down 'till the weekend! Love and hugs, Michelle |
TGIF FO SHO.......
Man I was so busy at my day job yesterday, didn't even think to post...sorry ladies. Last night at CVS was a blast. I really liked the 3 gals that I worked with last night. We all seemed to click. I think I can click with anyone tho. Register and regular customers are fun. CVS has regulars just like Cheers sitcom. NORM!! My boss is a peach. She brought in Starbucks for me today. I gave up Starbucks due to my economic situation. Yes, folks, the economy has hurt me. LOTS.. no more Starbucks. wah ;*( Man it sure makes a difference when you have to watch every penny GO OUT THE DOOR.....Glad I like CVS so much...well. so far. Happy and Chelle and Ceejay....yeah, rah, TROJANS! hahaha Chelle...CONGRATS on the WL. Even the extra percentage off. Wowser, and you know my philosophy...if you don't weigh naked you get round up to the next number....wink, wink... Shad....Strangely enough I like working at CVS. I guess cause I get to interact with people and act like a dingy blonde..act, hmmm, not sure. Since you vacuum is not working well, I can bring my cuum and cuum for you. Happy...actually the Indy zoo has a butterfly room/area/building..not quite sure, it is advertised on billboards around town when they have it. I always say I am going but have yet to make it there. My next life I am going to be a butterfly. Cause if I don't like it, butterflies don't live real long and I can come back as something else. haha MEL...the feet and legs are ok so far. Saturday will tell. That shift is 2-10 pm. Bella is not liking mommie being gone so much either. The good thing is it is mandatory to wear tennis shoes. I think you and Trader Joe's are on a first name basis. eh? Ceejay...I will come cut the grass for you. I love to cut grass. Even pushing it. Only thing I request in pay is margaritas. One to start, one during, lawn chair after. hehe Laura...thanks for the heads up on "Ugly Truth" I may have to catch that one in my spare time..NOT...I now have no spare time. Have fun at the pool on Saturday... Well ladies, I need to get back at it. It is going to be a busy one again. Supposed to be 95 and sunny all weekend...I know I already mentioned it, but it is killing me I have to work and not be in it. Hello to all the worldlies and lurkers. Much love many hugs, |
Chelle...you sneaker you. Mom is hanging in there. Her specialist appt is August 28, that is the earlies they could get her in. Yikes! At least it is this month, barely. Thanks for asking. Have a great weekend sista. Hugs
|
Oh, and ate my first cucumber out of my garden....It was really short and fat, kind of like my exH. lol hahhaa
|
you ladies make me laugh.
Annie Glad that the job at CVS is going well. Thanks for offering to mow the lawn. I can do it. Next summer though I'm going to do things differently. Happy Is it vacation time already? Laura Did you get the results back from your xray? Michelle Is it fair time already? Good for you in setting some goals. To all the rest A big  My morning ihas slipped by me. Mainly because I slept till 8.44 a.m. this morning. I took the xanax last night and with in a couple of hours I was ready for sleep. I slept to hard though and woke a bit groggy. I will take another one tonight. The girls came to mow yesterday and found some things in the drainage ditch in my back yard. I need to call to find out who is in charge of this. Looks llike some little boys has mad themselves a club house. There were three chairs, coke cans etc in the ditch. |
Annie - I'm so glad you like the job at CVS! It really helps when you work with great people. I think the men and women at my WW at work meeting would object to me weighing naked with all the bumps, lumps and rolls I have now. Good luck with your workday tomorrow. At least you'll have time in the morning and on Sunday to enjoy your lovely weather. 95 is too warm for me....but I've got a lot more insulation than you. Glad to hear your mom is doing better. That sucks that she can't get in to see the specialist until the end of the month. Had to laugh at what you said about the cuke!
Ceejay - When I drive my mower down to Happy's in Memphis, I'll swing by and cut your grass too. I love mowing the lawn...using a push mower or a rider. I don't like to edge/weed whack though. That sucks about someone setting up camp in your drainage ditch. :club: |
Ceejay...we always say you can cut your grass but you may NOT hoe mow your grass...ba haha and I love how you took a zannie last night and woke up groggy and by golly you are taking another one tonight. That is funny.
Chelle...I like the weather the hotter the better....I am mostly cold so when everyone else is roasting I am just right...Sat and Sun morns will be cleaning the house and cutting the grass. No rest for the weary. I went at lunch to find a pair of pants for CVS work cause my dress pants are longs so I can wear my heals. Wearing tennis shoes at CVS makes them drag the floor. Well how depressing that was. Size 6 was a bit too tight, size 8 was too big, and 7 juniors ate my crotch, therefore I didn't get any. Kind of like the 3 bears and porridge. It all sucked. Guess my pants will just have to drag the floor till I can find some average length ones to wear with tennis shoes. Average length will still be a bit on the short side, not flooding, but short sided. Enough babbling. Have a great weekend. |
OMG, Annie, you got me started laughing with the hoe mow! Then you nearly made me  with the juniors size 7 eating your crotch! Too funny! I'm short so my pants often drag little because I always wear flats (can't stand heels), but I do not hem. Too lazy. You're nearly always cold, and I'm almost always too warm. Give me nice 70-80 degree days and I'm a happy camper!
|
Nearly done with work for the week! :woohoo: I have to leave in about 20 minutes for PT (my last PT session until my back flares up again - which I hope won't be for a LONG time). I went for a good brisk walk at lunch and hope that I can do some core strength training (and maybe upper body) at PT. I did strength training last night, but it was abs (which can be done every day) and lower body. If I get a good workout at PT, then I'll skip the gym tonight. We're supposed to have bad t-storms and the doggies would probably prefer it if I were home with them.
I gotta tell ya' ladies...it's really weird...while I do occasionally get cravings for sweets or high fat foods...I'm really feeling SO good eating lots of veggies and fruits and staying within my points and exercising...I don't really feel deprived at all. In fact, today I had a BIG salad at lunch and was munching on raw broccoli that I had in it and thinking "this is SO good". And I'm not even a big broccoli fan. I'll eat it because it's so nutritious, but it's not my fave veg (that would be tomatoes, carrots and cukes). Point is, I'm really loving this! I hope I keep this feeling - this love of healthy portion-controlled eating and exercise - for a LONG time. |
Hello Ladies,
Good NEWS.... I got the job. They made the offer a week ago thursday, got the paperwork friday, fax, fedex on Monday. Went for drug test monday and on thursday they called and said my clearance/background/drug test were completed and i passed. :carrot::carrot: Such a relief.. Ceejay - hope your enjoying your long weekend. Annie - I'm glad the CVS job is working out. Hey i think this economic turn has effectived everybody. Mitchellez - Good for you on eating healthy. Yes, we need to remind ourselves that this is fuel that feeds our body. The other stuff, is like putting bad gas in our system. Happy - I hope your enjoying your weekend. Mel - I'm glad your help was able to help you out today. I hope you get some rest. Shad - wish you were closer to come look at desk computer... It's old, so I'm sure that the main problem. Hello to everyone:wave: |
Will some one remind me the next time I think about tiling the loo, that the body is no longer capable of doing a forward dive with a double twist !!!!
|
:yikes: OMG SHAD WHAT DID YOU DO??? WHILE I WAS SLEEPING YOU TRIED TO BREAK YOUR NECK IN THE LOO??? I HOPE YOU WILL FEEL BETTER AND LET US KNOW WHAT HAPPENED SOON. WANTED TO TELL YOU THAT I WENT TO BED LAUGHING AND SLEPT LIKE A LOG. WOKE UP THIS MORNING RARING AND READY TO GO!!! ALREADY HAD 2 TENANTS AT THE DOOR....SO GOOD THING YOU PUT MY LIFE BACK IN ORDER LAST NIGHT!!
I WILL HAVE TO COME BACK...MY EYE IS TEARING TOO MUCH TO SEE. MUST HAVE BEEN THE LADY'S PERFUMED APARTMENT. I HAD TO FIX A GFI SWITCH IN THE KITCHEN. BEE BACK IN A BIT. HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND. |
Nope, didn't slip or fall. It's just that to put a tile on the bottom of the wall close to the back of the loo, one has to do a forward half pike with 2 forward somersalts and a twist to the left. Like I said, the body doesn't have the contortionist levels to be able to do this any more. I've advised the DS2 to shoot himself if he has anymore of these bright ideas. His reply was that he is debating whether to employ me to tile the loo in his new house!!!
Just to explain that one, the DS2 has bought his second investment house this week. We call him the Crestmead Landlord or the Property Tycoon, depending on how much we feel like saluting. |
SHAD~ I WISH DS2 WAS MY LANDLORD!! I WOULD SALUTE ALL DAY IF IT MEANT GETTING OUT OF HERE! ;rofl: GOOD LUCK TO HIM. GOOD NEWS THAT YOU WERE JUST TWISTED UP LIKE A PRETZEL AND NOT FALLING!! CHARGE HIM DOUBLE IF YOU DO HIS LOO!!! I AM STILL LAUGHING ABOUT LAST NIGHT. IT WAS DEFINITELY GOOD THERAPY FOR ALL.
NOW GO TO BED!! HAPPY~ HOPE THE YURT TRIP AND ALL THE SIGHTS ARE WONDERFUL. HAVE A GREAT TIME AND I HOPE YOU HAVE NO LEG CRAMPS!! SORRY TO HEAR THE SWALLOWTIL IS AMONGST THE MISSING. HOPE HE ENDED UP SOMEWHERE SAFE! MICHELLE~ I WAS BRAGGING ABOUT YOU TO A FRIEND WITH YOUR WW WEIGHTLOSS. SHE IS THINKING OF REJOINING ONLINE AGAIN. HAVE FUN AT THE FAIR. I LOVED THAT MOVIE.."STATE FAIR". YOU JUST REMINDED ME OF THAT. GLAD THE SENIORS MADE YOU LAUGH...JEN AND I ALWAYS SAY YOU COME INTO THIS WORLD FAILRY BALD, DROOLING, NO TEATH AND WEARING DIAPERS AND THAT'S EXACTLY HOW YOU LEAVE. YOU HAVE SOME GOOD PLANS IN PLACE FOR THE POINTS ETC. GOOD FOR YOU!! YOUR POST WAS REFRESHING TO READ ABOUT EATING VEGGIES AND FEELING HEALTHY. THANKS FOR POSTING THAT. I NEED REMINDERS FROM TIME TO TIME. CONGRATS ALSO FOR THE LAST PT VISIT!! :encore: ANNIE~ NOW YOU TELL US WE CAN'T HOE MOW THE LAWNS!! JUST WHEN I WAS GETTING USED TO IT!  SORRY THE PANTS ATE YOUR CROTCH...WAS IT A MALE PAIR??? :lol3: :lol3: HOW ABOUT CAPRIS FOR THE SUMMER AND THEN BUY SOME CHEAP PANTS AND HEM THEM!! HOPE YOU GET SOME DOWN TIME FOR ANNIE TOO! CEEJAY~ DID YOU GET RID OF THE KIDDIE CLUBHOUSE?? I AM GLAD YOU HAD A GOOD SLEEP. BE CAREFUL DRIVING TO WORK WHEN GROGGY:hug: PATRTY :cheer: :cheer2: :cheer3: CONGRATULATIONS NON THE JOB!!! YAY!!! GOOD FOR YOU AND I WAS SO HAPPY TO HEAR GOOD NEWS!! HOPE YOU LOVE IT! I AM DOING THE HAPPY DANCE FOR YOU  :broc: :cb: :carrot: I AM GOING OUTSIDE FOR A COOL RIDE TO THE BACKYARD. THE WEATHER IS SOOO LOVELY IN THE MORNINGS NOW. FEELS LIKE FALL ALREADY. NOTHING PLANNED FOR THE WEEKEND EXCEPT SOME REST AND MOVIES. RICHIE HAS NO WORK ALL NEXT WEEK. I TOLD HIM TO LOOK ON THE BRIGHTSIDE....HE CAN SPEND TIME WITH JEN AND HIS KIDS. THE KIDS ARE LEAVING ON THE 19TH. SO IN THE END IT ALL WORKS OUT. SMILES ON EVERYONE'S FACES. HAVE A GREAT DAY :moped: |
I FORGOT TO SAY SOMETHING:
I WAS PART OF A SMALL TEAM (WE WERE ONLY 4) ON ANOTHER WEBSITE. THEY WERE ORIGINALLY FROM 3FC. NOW THAT I AM CUTTING BACK ON COMPUTER TIME AND NOT POSTING ON WEEKENDS(EXCEPT THIS ONE...LOL) I INVITED THEM TO BACK HERE WITH ME. WE WILL SEE IF ANYONE COMES:wave: |
Annie - Glad you're enjoying the work at CVS. Maybe the weather this weekend will be icky and you won't mind being inside..
Ceejay - I'd definitely be of a mind to find another mowing service. The nerve of asking for pay in advance. Must be some big drainage ditch to have a clubhouse! Happy - Finally checked out the Stone Wind site. That looks like a wonderful setting! Enjoy yourself and take lots of photos!! Mel - So nice you have Willie to help you out when you're out and about. Re Trader Joe's - I like the garlic naan. Mmmm. Hope the tearing is gone. Michelle - Congrats on the weight loss. And I'm glad you're enjoying the healthy food. I definitely start to feel deprived w/o my sweets and junky snacks. I try to keep it out of the house. Shad - Yeh, contortions are needed to reach the elusive spot behind the toilet. You're an experienced DIYer, but for me, the bright part of that hidden spot is that I might not be able to easily see any of my goof-ups! Sorry I didn't report sooner - the x-ray was clear, and I haven't been thinking about my lungs or breathing all week - feeling completely better. :) I'll bring this up to the allergist regardless when I have my annual later this year. No more dog walks, but I'll shoot for a couple this weekend. I got a short strength workout at the gym on Thursday. I told bf I was going to the gym, but first I stopped off to buy his b-day gift and then headed to the gym afterwards. Only did 25 min at the gym, but it was better than nothing. Yesterday was bf's b-day and we went to dinner. More rain today, and icky humidity as well. I'm feeling lazy, but I should go do a workout in the basement. Having a few friends over tonight for bf's bday. Maybe tomorrow we'll get over to bf's sister's pool. I'm taking Monday off work - I just need a day off! Have a wonderful weekend everyone! |
Hello Ladies,
Mel - Thank you. Remember i'm a contractor and the job is being brought back inhouse, so i have been doing it for a while. Now just a little more stability (i hope)... Have a good weekend. Laura - Hello to you. I've been MIA for about a week. I'm from Texas...My fur baby is my kid. Single/home owner... Welcome to our group... Shad - hope your not sore tomorrow. |
Good morning ladies,
Just popping my head in here taking a break from list making. Sometimes taking a vacation is a LOT of work. So far things are in control - looks like the best night for the peak of the meteor shower will be rainy but it will be dry the rest of the week so perhaps we'll get lucky Wednesday. I am really looking forward to this. Patty - I'm so glad you got the job! I'll bet that's a big relief off of your mind. Especially when you're the only one you can count on. Laura - HB to the BF. :hb: Hope you have a nice long weekend. Doesn't it just make you feel soooo good to have a day off of work :D Enjoy. Glad to hear your lungs/chest have cleared up. Every once in a while my chest hurts/feels heavy - I think there is schmutz in the air because it comes and goes almost without notice. Mel - hope your friends try us out. We don't bite  Did you enjoy your morning out? I love it when the mornings are refreshing - not too hot or cool - it's a bit sad because it's a reminder that fall is around the corner. But you can really enjoy them - especially if it's early and nice and quiet too. Jen's analogy about babies to oldies is pretty funny - especially because it's true. You forgot the part about stubborn and tempermental! I hope Ritchie and Jen can enjoy their week together with the family. Now go rest your eyes. Shad - loved your half twist pike description  Don't forget the boob squish and you lean into the seat top and contort yourself. I feel the same way about cleaning back there  So DS2 is the land baron? I guess if you time it right, it can be a good investment. Many people down here and I mean MANY have summer homes or rentals. When I talked about cilantro being hard to grow, I meant just as you were describing - I planted the stuff and 2 weeks later it was starting to go to seed already. What the heck with that? How did you stop it from going to seed? It wasn't worth planting in my opinion. Bad enough the dill goes fast. And if it reseeds itself, I guess we'll be having dill and coriander growing in DH's flower garden next season  Michelle - thanks for the tip on the Oroweat rounds - I like their breads and have to check those out. That's the 3rd time I've heard about them in as many days - must be an omen! I agree with you about the foods. I still THINK I want certain things but if I do eat them, they are never as good as I thought and I'm starting to pay more attention to the fact that they either make me feel sick or I feel so tired from the blood sugar drop. With all these things in your face, WHY do we fight so very hard to stay on plan? Looks like by your signature you are making great progress on "de-pantsing yourself  WTGG!!! Annie - glad to hear you are having fun at CVS. If you have to work a second job (or even a first) it's better if you can have some fun at it! Bummer on the pants fitting - you can never find them when you need them. Now if you had only 59 cents to your name until next month, you know you would find a slew in your size at bargain prices. :( I don't know if it's just me, but it seems that I have to try every single pair of pants on because they all fit differently - like shoes. What's with that? Ceejay - that's sort of sad that there's no trees around to make a clubhouse and the boys had to resort to a ditch. At least they are good for tornado season - ok, so that was a BAD joke. :o I think you need to find them a refrigerator shipping box and relocate them  Ok, I have a ton of things to do so I'd better get off this computer and get busy. Anyone use a portable GPS for maps and stuff? If so, which and how do you like it? |
Mel - hope your friends try us out. We don't bite
Not sure about this statement at all. Sometimes we give people a 'gentle' roasting and then nibble around the edges to see if the point got thru. You and I have both done that Happy. More than once. Anyway, have a wonderful time away. Maybe I should just pop on over and ensure the weather stays fine and mild for your heavenly viewing. Patty - great work on getting the job. You will be feeling great relief now. I'll pop in and take a look at the computer on my way through to see Happy's meteor shower. I might need a glass of wine by then. The nephews computer appears to have had some sort of a hiccup. It may be that the network card is no longer working according to my guru. In fact he thinks that is more likely than the age and space and the fact that the internet disappeared without warning. So I need to report back to the family soon. I may get Robbie to go look at it and give it a going over. Only thing is that I will get embarrassed if it turns out to be full of dust like mine was! Annie - I hope you got some rest between jobs. You will be very tired if you don't. What will the 'boy' be doing without his home cooked dinners - I ask. Michelle - hope you have a good time at the fair. We used to enjoy them as kids. The Queensland Ekka is on at the moment. It's more or less the State Fair - Ekka is Australian for exhibition - I haven't been for years. But I'm not good at side show alley, and I get very tired of the crowds, however I do like the dog shows and the horses (along with the other animals) and the baking and craft. Some very talented people out there. Laura - what makes you think that some of my goof ups are not on show there as well? I can make some great goof ups. Mind you if you make them down the back wall of the loo room, then you don't get to see them all the time when you are 'visiting' and anyway a good grout takes care of a lot of problems - as long as the grout is the same or a similar colour to the tiles. I can't imagine how bad it would look with white tiles and black grout. The walls in there are not straight and it takes a fair amount of jiggling to get some of the tiles even remotely fitting and aligned. Ceejay - what the heck? Payment up front? Give it a rest. Can't blame you for changing the mower people. Okay - time to get out there and enjoy the day. I'm off for a walk/jog and then back to the loo although today will see the end of this part of the tiling. There is still more to do, but true to form I can't find the trim I wanted at a reasonable price. Heck the one I had set my heart on had a price tag dearer than the complete cost of all the other wall tiles. I'm sooooooo good at picking the very best and most expensive. After cleaning that lot up, I'm about to start on the painting and trim. Then start on the grout. A couple of hours in the garden should soothe the savaged muscles and knees and a friend of mine from Melbourne has come to town for a couple of days so I need to touch base and see where she wants to go or do. She tells me she has come off the project from ****. I laughed. Then of course there is always the family - and I need to get in touch with some friends. I guess tomorrow I will have to get serious about job hunting but that is tomorrow and the longer I put it off the better I will feel about it. Have a great day/ night. |
