OMG...WOWSER CHELLE on the 6 lbs down.....see what did I tell you...and TOM can do a 10 lb up number on you. If the scale is not friendly next week, don't be upset....good things come to those who wait.....Hugs back at cha.

Shad 08-20-2009 04:43 PM

Morning all,

Michelle - congratulations on the 6lbs. I have to say I expected a loss for you of around 4lb but you've blown it out of the water. This is a combination of fluid loss and fat loss. You may not lose much next week but provided you look after the diet and exercise gently, you shouldn't put any back on. Well done.

Happy - hope you are not coming down with anything. Keep up the citrus and the fluids and flush it right out. Brats I guess are a type of sausage. I like a good flavoured sausage but I am well aware that they don't do me any favours with weight loss. Get thee to the supermarket lass.

Annie - you too need to watch the diet and fluids with the extra stress of carrying two jobs. As for the yearly projection - it's just a guess. No one can predict it too accurately. I always aim for a 10% increase in household expenditure for my budget - not that that compares with your company budget but the theory is the same. Just the scale differs.

Ceejay - hope you manage to convince those girls that you mean business. The cheek of asking for an advance for fuel. They are running a business, they need to learn to budget and run their costs to work with their income. But if they are young generation X people, then it's all about looking groovy and cool and to **** with commitment.

Mel - broken/sprained ankle??? How did they manage that. Trip over the dog? Say hi to Jen when you see her, and look after the bird - he is the only one I've ever heard of with a black eye.

With that, I guess it is time to move along and finish the coffee, watch the news and get on with the day. As soon as the temp rises marginally, I will go out and see how the garden grows this morning. Our daytime temps are rising but it is still cool in the early morning. Better treasure it while I can, I'll be complaining soon enough.

See ya

ceejay52 08-20-2009 09:06 PM

Michelle
Great job on those 6 pounds lost. You sound like one of the Biggest Loser contestants.

Mel
Glad to hear that Richie and Jen are all tucked in bed. They need a good rest. Hope the woman in the office is okay. Sprain's can be as bad as a break. Poor grandson, the bird, Hope he's okay too. Glad you are feeling better.

Happy
Those thunder storms above you hit us. It was loud too I jumped out of my chair as the one right above the plant crackled. It shook the building and one of the plug in junction box sizzled. I agree that when you take med's like Nyquil and xanax you have to have more sleep.

Shad, Annie, Patty and Laura,

The ordeal with the "girls" I hope is finished. They have been told that this week end is their last time to mow. And I've told them I have to be in the bed earlier than 9.00 p.m. on my working day's. I was getting a little anxious but I thought I did it in a professional manner.

I used the redi set go appliance and I do like it. But beware you need to be near a ventahood. That little thing puts out some steam. I fixed chicken strips tonight which may be why there was a lot of steam. They were really tender. I'll try one of the recipe's later. I miss my Foreman. May get one of those tomorrow. I have angus meat to make burgers or a meat loaf.

diyana 08-21-2009 08:00 AM

Happy Friday ladies -

It was a short week for me, but it feels like it lasted forever. I'm exhausted. I hope this weekend will be relaxing. DH is saying he wants to go fishing both days since we only have about 6 weeks of decent weather left. The weather is already starting to cool down with highs in the upper 60s tomorrow and low 70s on Sunday. At least there's not supposed to be any rain after today.

Annie - Thanks for the congrats and the warning about next week. I'm gonna stick to plan and exercise when my body allows and hopefully I'll be able to avoid a gain.

Shad - I'm going to heed your advice and really stick to it this week...I'm in the two teens now and don't want any upward movement of the scale. Brats (aka bratwurst) are a very yummy sausage...extremely popular in the Upper Midwest. As our weather is cooling off...yours is heating up. Enjoy the cool mornings in the garden!

Ceejay - Good on ya' for standing up to the girls and getting them to respect what you want/need. You are (or were) their customer, and customers have to be treated well or they will take their business elsewhere. Glad you like the redi set go appliance.

A big  to Mel, Happy, Patty, Laura and everyone!

Love and big hugs,

MELODY525 08-21-2009 08:01 AM

TODAY JEN AND I WILL HAVE SOME TIME TO REHASH THE SUMMER. WE HAVEN'T HAD A GOOD CHIN WAG IN MONTHS. I COULD DO WITHOUT THE SUMMER DETAILS  THE CARPET MEN WILL BE HERE FOR THE NEXT 3-4 DAYS. SAT & SUN I HAVE TO GET THEM INSIDE AND STARTED. HOPEFULLY THEY WON'T BOTHER ME AND JUST DO THEIR JOB. NOT LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS. THEY COME TOO EARLY AND LEAVE TOO LAT...I AM SURE THAT'S HOW IT'S GONNA GO. TODAY WILL FIRM UP THE TIMES. I NEED SOME BREAKFAST.:hun:
HAPPY FRIDAY :moped:

happy2bme 08-21-2009 09:53 AM

Morning all,

Wow, Friday already. This week sure flew by. Highs in the 60's Michelle? Geez, I noticed our LOWS were hitting the upper 60's and I thought that was bad. I am noticing things too that signal summer is rolling to an end. Some early turning trees are starting already, I can see the sun at a lower angle - when I turn into my driveway at night it kinda "fogs" the windshield making it hard to see if the glass isn't completely clean. The nights are getting cooler too. Just a bit but enough to notice. DH said we should think about closing the pool for the season :( but I have to admit, we missed the last hot spell when we were on vacation and it's getting too cool at night and not warm enough during the day to keep the water above 80 degrees which is swimmable to me.

In other news...

Michelle - you rock girl :carrot: Congrats on SIX freakin' pounds down. That is awesome. I know you were so bummed the other week when you were very good and had a slight gain but I guess that shows you that we just have to be patient. Awesome! :yay: I hope you can get out early and fish both days. The one positive about summer winding down is that I find at least I put more of a focus on enjoying those last few weeks - sounds like you do too.

Mel - the idea of you swinging around with your boobs socking you in the head had me in stitches :lol3: Poor baby birdy with a black eyelid  He must have wacked himself good. Give him an extra seed treat. And have a good chat with the DD.

Ceejay - glad you got things straightened out with the girls. Sometimes that can be a real pain. I will have to check out that redi set go appliance. I have an original George Foreman griller, I think the ones out now are much improved.

Shad - did you get out and work that garden? Guess you are right - enjoy those cool mornings before the blazing sun comes down on you. Or just go sniff those pretty roses!

Annie - if theres one thing that sux more than the strategic plan, it's the duffo-rama FIVE YEAR strategic plan. I'm glad I don't have to deal with that right now but we would all dread that one. Took us 5 years to get the darn thing done and we rarely got much of anything accomplished other than 5,000 prints of various versions. I really admire you for working 2 jobs, don't know where you get the energy from.

Coffee break is over. Best get to finishing my analysis. Hellos to Patty and Laura - have a good Friday everybody.

annie175 08-21-2009 10:15 AM

Well here it is FRIDAY!!!

Samantha and I leave for St. Louis tomorrow morning for a safe, uneventful, accident-free trip....insert prayers here. It is bachlorette party weekend. Party bus leaves at 7:00 pm Saturday night. The bus' decor is 1960s with a stripper pole inside. Beer and jello shots provided on the bus. I am taking a bottle of Jose Cuervo Margarita, as I am not much into anything else. May try a jello shot as I have never had one. Hard to believe, but nope have not...Will head back home on Sunday. Quick weekend, then work at Humana and CVS on Monday. I won't be worth a poo.

Shad...while you are beginning to enjoy the wonderful weather coming your way, we get to look forward to the yuckiness of winter. Yuck! We have not had much of a summer here in Indy, mostly rain, rain and more rain. Sick of rain.

Ceejay...good for you for sticking to your guns with the girls and mowing. The little sh*ts these days don't seem to want to work for their money, they want it handed to them. I want mine handed to me too, but also work my *ss off earning it.

Chelle...I would love to go fishing with you and DH this weekend, I think it would be entertaining for all of us. lol I absolutely love to fish and have not been in about 5 years. That is disgusting, especially as much as I enjoy it. Have a relaxing, re-couperating, fishing weekend my dear.

MEL...OMG bruised boobies are not good. Mine too are brusied, saggy and wrinkly however only the bruised part is from twirling. haha. They look disgusting and that is NOT a haha. You and Jen should fix some tea (long island) and have a nice conversation.

I am leaving today at 2:00 pm, taking personal time off. I have a few things I want to accomplish before the travels this weekend. I have not visited mom and dad for 2 weeks cause of all this working. I am going by their house first, then off to home to get other things done.

Woke up with a headache this morning, too much stress this week, not enough booze. haha

Hello to EVERYONE...

Have a groovy weekend. I most likely will not be posting this weekend.

Love and Hugs,

annie175 08-21-2009 10:19 AM

Hey Happy, you sneaker inner....yeah strategic plans do require a lot of death to trees. Way too many copies IMO. I agree the weather is too cold for swimming, you would freeze your tassles off. The weather is just plain weird. Have a great weekend, my dear.

Laura705 08-21-2009 10:20 AM

Annie – Glad to hear you're still in a job. Not sure why your job goes if your boss's doesb, hmmm. I think I'd have some nasty (more like jealous) thoughts about someone who doesn't really need a job who's still working and taking a spot someone else could certainly fill. But since that isn't the case here, then it's good she's staying on. The 2010 budget was one of my recently completed projects. Round 1 anyway. Safe trip!!

Ceejay – Oh, yeah - easier to hire than to fire. Hope that goes okay for you. Too funny to find the boss and guest catching you doing the neck rolls! I always worry that a big shot's going to come walking by my cube right when I'm changing from gym shoes and athletic socks into trouser socks and dress shoes – at the point when my feet are bare. How very professional! :o

Happy – I hope you stay healthy amid all the sickies. Nyquil knocks me out too, thankfully. Nothing worse than feeling bad than being awake all night feeling bad.

Mel – Ow, broken ankle, on top of neck fusion. Enjoy the time with Jen. Finally the carpet is going in! Hope that goes smoothly.

Michelle – Congrats on the loss, take it any way it comes, within reason, of course! Very hard to know why the body gains and loses or maybe it's more likely retains and loses. When it's humid, my watch band feels tighter and when it's cool & dry – very loose around my wrist.

Hello to Patty!

Shad – I'm glad your debit card was located without too much trouble. Bummer on the tile! Hope you find another perfect tile for your application. Oh, I really like the Radio Times rose. Very pretty.

Vacation's been nice so far. We picked up the tv from a couple not far from us. Of course it was a dusty time removing the old one from the wall bracket (we've got it on a hospital style thingy attached to the wall). The replacement set has the same size screen, but smaller housing and silver instead of dark, so it blends a bit better with our light colored walls. The cable box no longer could sit on top of the tv (due to aforementioned smaller tv housing), so we pulled out the (unused) vcr and put the cable box in that spot in the holder under the tv. I think we're going to recycle both the kaput tv and the old vcr today – an electronics dealer in our area accepts them for free.

Wed. night was dinner w/ my HS friend. Very nice, except my drive to the restaurant – pouring rain. But it cleared out by the time we finished. Thursday lunch was a sushi/seafood buffet with my movie group friends. I didn't eat any raw stuff, but I enjoyed it and would go back with bf sometime. Rest of yesterday was nice – dog walk, sewing, tv, reading. Enough sun and warmth for me in between brief rain/cloud sessions. Today's started off cool and gloomy, boo. Tonight is a memorial service for my brother who passed in April. The April service was out of state where he and his family live, and this one is her in Chicago where there's still many friends and family. Can't say I'm looking forward to this (the April one was so very difficult to get through), but I'm glad everyone here will be able to pay their respects. After that I'm going to game night at one of the movie gals' house. Between now and then…maybe some sewing, online shopping and general puttering. Still need to find lodging for our short getaway next week! Any of our Midwestern contingent been to Saugatuck, Michigan??

Sorry for the long ramble! Have a good Friday everyone!

diyana 08-21-2009 12:38 PM

Mel - Poor grandson with the bruised eyelid. Enjoy your time with Jen.

Happy - I'm definitely going to savor these last weeks of summer. DH said it will probably be too windy to fish on Saturday, but we'll definitely get out on Sunday. I'm noticing it getting darker earlier...and it's now dark when I leave for work (at 5:30 am). But hopefully in a few months, I'll get home before dark...that would be a treat. I hope you have a great weekend! Are you going to the Farmer's Market?

Annie - Good for you for leaving early today! So nice that you're making time to see your folks before your weekend getaway. Sounds like your weekend will be a total blast! Sending lots of :goodvibes:, prayers and  for a safe trip. You've never had a jello shot? I really like 'em. Next time you're up this way, DH and I will definitely take you fishing! It would be such a great time!! Oh, and I'm sure T does NOT think your boobs look disgusting. Annie, how 'bout you and I make a pact to not talk about the cold season coming up, okay?

Laura - Sounds like most of your vacay week was very nice. Sending you  for the memorial service. Losing a loved one is so hard. I hope you can ease your sorrows with the laughs at game night! I've never been to Saugatuck Michigan...I don't even know where that is. Have fun making getaway plans.

Well, it's back to work for this chick!

Here's to a great rest of the day and a wonderful weekend for all of us!

happy2bme 08-21-2009 01:17 PM

Quick peek in. Safe travels Annie :crossed: beware the jello shots. Soooo smooth going down and then they turn your legs to .... JELLO. Get some sleep in between the busy moments.

I'll be back later...

ceejay52 08-21-2009 06:45 PM

I opened a can of worms but at least on upper cabinet is almost clean out and things I don't need or use is out of the cabinet. I'll taken it to the thrift store next week end.

One more day of freedom left. I really could use about three more.

Annie
Have a safe trip.

Every one have a good week end.

1day@atime 08-21-2009 09:50 PM

JEN AND I HAD A GREAT DAY YESTERDAY. SHE SLEPT IN AND LOOKS MUCH BETTER. I THINK HER WEIGHT LOOKS GOOD ALSO.....FOR HER THAT IS. SHE TOOK A GOOD LOOK AT THE GRANDSON AND WE WASHED OFF SOME OF THE BLOOD ON HIS WING. HE WAS USING IT TO CLEAN HIS EYE. HE HASN'T TRIED TO FLY SINCE AND NOW SQUAWKS FOR ME TO CARRY HIM EVERY WHERE!!! :faint: MAYBE I CAN TEACH HIM HOW TO DRIVE ONE OF THE CHAIRS!!!

I CAN'T READ TODAY SO I WON'T DO PERSONALS. EYES ARE VERY TEARY. JUST "WEATHER" SINUSES AND THE SMELLS OF RUG JUNK.
SO HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND. :moped:

happy2bme 08-22-2009 10:53 AM

Good morning ladies,

Time to get the hair colored. I need it. She did alot of blonde this time and my roots are in serious need of a touch up. Also some fairy came along in the night and painted the hairs on my temples gray. My appt is at 11 so that kind of breaks up today. I think I'll hit the grocery store on the way home and get that done and over with. I promised DH I would tackle the garage tomorrow and I have a few more small items to put away from the vacation stuff.

Annie - you're already gone but hope you have a safe trip and a good time.

Mel - glad to hear that Jen has a few ounces on those bones of hers. Take good care of the grandson. Talk to him about the dangers of being "flighty". :D LOVED you pic of the kitties.

Patty - have a good weekend and build up strength to finish that packing.

Ceejay - why do the days off go twice as fast as the work days? Make the most of your last day off.

Michelle - hope the weather co-operates for a little fishing.

Laura - I think I was in Saugatuck once but it was so long ago that it can be very different now. I use the Internet and review places like Trip Adviser dot com to check out places ahead of time. Have you been to Door County in Wisconsin? I hear it's nice if not a bit pricy.

Shad - hope you got some quality garden time in. Sorry to hear you have a headache today. Put a cool cloth on your eyes and soak up some sun outside.

Time to pop in the shower and get a move on. Have a great weekend all.

MELODY525 08-22-2009 04:15 PM

SOMEHOW I JUST LOST MY WORD POST :tantrum:
I AM TOO BUSHED TO REPEAT IT. SO JUST KNOW THAT I WAS SYMPATHETIC TO THOSE THAT NEEDED IT, ENCOURAGING TO SOME, ROOTING FOR OTHERS. DISHING OUT KISSES AND HUGS AND......

LAURA~ I AM SO SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT THE LOSS OF YOUR BROTHER IN APRIL. I MISS MY "BABY" BROTHER ALMOST EVERY DAY. SENDING GOOD THOUGHTS YOUR WAY AND HOPE YOU GET THRU THIS MEMORIAL SERVICE. REMEMBER THE GOOD TIMES.

OK KIDS. I NEED FOOD AND A SHOWER...SOME JAMMIES AND MY FEET UP AND THE TV RUNNING! TOMORROW IS DAY 2 FOR THE OTHER OFFICE. THIS TIME THEY DO NOT NEED MY ASSISTANCE CAUSE THAT HALLWAY HAS NO SENIOR TRAFFIC...THANK GOD!!! TODAY WAS ONE ARGUMENT AFTER ANOTHER..."NO MAM YOU CANNOT GO PAST ALL THE OFFICE FURNITURE OUT IN THE HALL AND TRY AND SQUEEZE YOUR 3 FOOT WIDE WALKER AND 4 FOOT WIDE BUTT DOWN THAT 2 FOOT CREVICE"... AND PLEASE STOP BANGING INTO MY CHAIR AND SPITTING IN MY FACE
SENIORS....GOTTA LOVE 'EM...NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1day@atime 08-22-2009 10:04 PM

Hello Ladies,

Happy - That same fairy traveled to my house too. I have so much grey in my temples. Every once in a while, i use that moose hair dye to cover up when i just can't stand it. Hope your color is comes out the way you want it.

Mel - take care of those eyes..

Laurie - Sorry to hear about your brother passing back in April.

Today i went up to the office, packed more things... tomorrow going over to visit my parents.

THE DARK WEATHER DOESN'T HELP EITHER. THE BOSS CAME LAST NIGHT AND THEY ARE TRYING TO FIGURE OUT A WAY TO PAY ME FOR THE 16 HOUR TOTAL I WORKED YESTERDAY. 12/RUGS, 3/DOORS AND 1/OFFICE. MAYBE PUT IT IN JEN'S NAME. CAME UP, TOOK ANOTHER SHOWER AND JUMPED INTO BED AT 9:30. I SET THE TIMER ON THE TV AND HAVE NO IDEA HOW FAST I WENT TO SLEEP!

PATTY~ YOU'RE BECOMING GOOD AT THIS PACKING THING...NOW YOU CAN GO TO WORK FOR BEKINS MOVERS! HAVE FUN WITH THE PARENTS!

happy2bme 08-23-2009 12:41 PM

Howdy chicks,

It's really nice outside. A shade of pleasant cool. Good for working outside which I will do shortly. Got all my errands done yesterday so I can focus around here today.

I am excited about having the lean meats, veggies and fruits back in the house again. Gained 3 pounds eating the junk stuff last week but as of this morning I am down 2 of those 3 "new" pounds. Some scrambled eggs and fresh fruit for a light lunch I think.

Mel - had to laugh about people plodding through with the "wide load" and the walkers. I'm sure you've seen alot. I think we need to put bumper guards on your chair and get you a welder's mask. 16 hour day yesterday???? Be careful it doesn't bite you in the butt. Less work, more rest today, okay? I hope you get all of your pay no matter how they have to work it.

Wow you are a trooper packing the office on a Saturday Patty. But I'm sure you want to hit the ground running on Monday. I have very stubborn gray - the temp stuff just colors my skin, not my hair

Laura, I hope the memorial for your brother was nice. I'm sorry to hear of his passing. So hard to deal with those things, yet it is nice to celebrate someone's life too. Sometimes the hurt never goes away completely.

Ceejay I guess you're back at work on such a beautiful day. Bummer. :(

And speaking of work, best get outside myself before the day is completely gone. Spend it wisely.

ceejay52 08-23-2009 02:31 PM

Happy
Yes, unfortunately I'm back at work. Congrats on those 2 out of 3 pounds lost. I'm at least trying this week and I do have to say one thing, MY body is liking it.

Mel
Too funny about the bird wanting you to cart him around.

Patty
Have you finished packing the office yet?

Laura
((hugs))

Annie
Have a safe trip, but have fun. Enjoy your week end.

Had a bad nights sleep last night. Would sleep for a couple of hours and wake up. I don't think I took the xanax.

The "girls" mowed my yard for the last time on Saturday and told me they were planning on going to Hot Springs where she grew up in September. She's told me that once before but I think they are being forced to leave. Then her ex moved back in with them. I'm not sure what they will do, but it's not my problem. I did give them some items that I was going to take to the Thrift Store. I have a feeling that her son will move back in with them.
I heard a loud pop while ago but could not find any wrong with in the plant.

Sometimes I really get tired of working here. I'm not sure how much longer that I can hold out working 12 hour days and moving 600 pound chemical drums. The money is the only thing that is holding me here. And these weeks that have 44 hours over time and working 12 hour days is rediculous. I'm a little depressed.
The all seeing camera is watching me so I'm out of here.

Shad 08-23-2009 06:08 PM

Yesterday got away from me, so I apologise for not getting in here. The last couple of days have been very hot for this time of year. We are not used to going from warm and cozy to hot and bothered in two days. We have now been put on high fire alert and not allowed to light our barbeques etc due to the soaring temp today (33C or 96F) and high winds. Wasn't planning on that anyway.

Ceejay - I can totally relate to the job woes. I think we must all be having them right now. The number of people who have spoken about the loathing they have for the job they have had for years is amazing. Says alot for the employer/ employee relationships and the bond with the almighty dollar.

Happy - well done on 2 or the 3 pounds gained and lost. Go girl. Hope you managed to get all of those chores done around the house and all the boxes shifted. 5 years must be some sort of record! Although maybe not, now I come to think about it. Glad you got to the fresh food market today.

Mel - time to get those peepers under cover. 16 hours. Sometimes I wonder what I am going to do with you. We do not want you to get another outbreak of skin problems or any of the virus' going around. My sister in NZ and my nephew in Melbourne have both got the flu. They are sneezing at each other over facebook. I'm keeping well out of the spray.

Patty - Moving office on a weekend? Have fun with the little spare time you have left for yourself.

Okay - I am off to browse the threads and then start painting in the loo while it is still cool enough to do so. An hour or so in there will just about see me done with the paint. Tiling is not far off either.

I'll be back later to check up on the rest of your weekend.

MELODY525 08-24-2009 07:49 AM

 WAVING TO HAPPY CEEJAY AND SHAD.....I SEE YOU 3 POSTED. BUT I WILL BE BACK LATER OR TOMORROW. I NEED TO FINISH HOT GLUING STUIFF FOR THE SENIOR BBQ THAT IS TOMORROW. I HAD NO TIME OVER THE WEEKEND AND WHEN I DID I NEEDED THE REST. JEN AND I HAD ANOTHER GOOD TALK LAST NIGHT. I THINK WE WILL BE ALL TALKED OUT BY THE END OF THE WEEK
HAPPY MONDAY AND HAVE A GREAT DAY  WAVING TO EVERYONE ELSE TOO!!

happy2bme 08-24-2009 07:59 AM

Mornin' all,

My car has a boo boo. Apparently a rock hit one of the headlights and made a small hole which fogged up the lamp. DH is taking me to work and he will get the car fixed and we have to leave shortly. What a sweetie

So I'm just waving hi now, will get back on around lunch time.

diyana 08-24-2009 08:19 AM

Happy Monday ladies -

DH and I went fishing yesterday. The fish weren't biting at all. We think they were hiding down at the depths of the lake because the waterskiers and jetskiers had the water all churned up. Couldn't blame those folks for being out enjoying the nice weather too. Next weekend, we'll try and get out on the lake around dawn so that we have 4 or 5 hours of fishing time before the waterskiers hit the lake. Even though we didn't catch anything, it was a gorgeous sunny day and so nice to be out on the boat.

On Saturday, I spent the morning doing website work. DH is assigned to work on the website at his company, which he would be able to do without any problems as he's pretty darn good with websites. However, the person who initially designed the site seemed to have no idea what they were doing. They set up templates but the pages didn't function as templates...all very confusing. I spent about 3 hours on Saturday morning trying to fix what the original designer mucked up. It should be all good to go now for DH and easy for him to maintain. :) It's nice to be able to help him out for once, as he fixes my computer issues all the time. I was going to spend Saturday afternoon working on my website, but it was so nice out that I decided to take a nap on the chaise lounge outside. I did that on Sunday morning before fishing too. So blissful, to relax with the dogs around, outside under the shade of the trees listening to the birds. Ahhh.

I have a bunch of errands to run after work, but I'm definitely going to make time to play frisbee and ball with the dogs. We did that a lot this weekend, and they really enjoy it...and yes, so do I. I've still got a tight, crud filled chest, so I'm gonna hold off on the gym for a couple more days.

I'm not sure if the scale will be kind to me this week even though I've stayed within my points. I feel like such a slug since I can't exercise. :( But I know...I gotta get healthier first.

Patty - Good luck with the move today. Speaking of graying temples...why is it "distinguished" on men, but not on women? And why does Just for Men work in 5 minutes, where women's hair color takes so much longer? It's just not fair. Hope you had a nice visit with your parents. :)

Mel - I loved the kitty massage photo...so cute! Glad you had a nice time with Jen. I hope your eyes get better. Sheesh, you and Grandson with your eye issues! Sounds like you had quite the day dealing the seniors and the carpet layers. You worked 16 hours on Saturday? No wonder you were tired, and your eyes too!

Happy - My hair gets the most gray on my temples as well, and for some reason, when I get it colored, even though my stylist always puts the color on my temples, it never seems to last more than a few days. The rest of my gray hair isn't stubborn...just the temple area. Luckily, unless you look closely, it blends in fairly well with the rest of the blonde. You're right...Door County is very nice. It is a bit pricey, but the scenery along the lake shore reminds me very much of Massachusetts, especially Cape Cod. Glad you lost most of the junk food weight you gained...and good on ya' for getting to the store and farmers market. Sorry to hear about your headlight. DH is so nice to drive you to work and get it fixed. :)

Ceejay - Good for your for not worrying about the girls anymore. Wherever they go, whatever they do is up to them. As for you, you are a trooper for handling those long hours and all that overtime. I used to have to work long hours when I first started here (65-75 hour weeks were very common). But thankfully, since I transfered to a different team nearly two years ago, my work hours ore much more normal.

Shad - 96F with high winds?! Wow that is hot and definitely a fire danger. Hang in there and try and stay cool. At least you're smart and do your outside work in the cooler mornings (if there is such a thing with that kind of heat).

Annie - I hope you had a wonderful, fun weekend and safe travels!

I've got tons of stuff to get done today, now that my head is clearer than last week (even if my chest is still full of gunk).

Love and hugs,

annie175 08-24-2009 08:41 AM

Whew weeeeeeee, Monday. What a fabulous weekend. So much stinkin fun. Only took us 4 hours to get home, usually a 5 hour drive. Traffic must of been on our side, plus the one stop I made to go potty, Sam and BF didn't want to get out, so it went quicker.

The party bus, was just that a huge party. WOW!! Um jello shots, don't like them so much. Makes the jello taste funny. Yes, I was over drunk. Woke up yesterday still drunk and a tremendous headache. What a drive home that was. Was sober enough to drive by noon, head still hurt tho. Went to bed when I got home and slept for an hour. All of the brides friend's called me a MILF (Mother I liked to f*cH) for half the night then started calling me a Cougar (a good looking woman over 40 who is dating a younger man-T is 4 years younder than I). How funny. The stripper pole was hilarious. Good time was had by all....oh and we had to wear "Hello my name is" tags. My name was Eileen Ulick (I lean, you lick)....

Shad....don't forget to add to your resume' LOO PAINTER and LOO TILER...lol

MEL...those crazy eyes for yours. Hope they are better this morning. Maybe it is all the senior spit that makes your eyes blurry.

Happy...that d*mned ole gray hair fairy, she has sisters all over the place cause they show up at my house too. Not too keen on the jello shots, I stuck to my margaritas.

Ceejay...cleaning cabinets is not the most fun I ever had. Yik

Patty...I am sending you an extension cord to the losing power cord...come on sista you can get with this program. I am confident in you.

Laura...Glad the vacay was enjoyable, now back to the real world.

Chelle...you are on for fishing when/if I make it up your way. OK, no cold talk..deal. Hope to see/hear less of you at weigh in this week. Keep pounding at it. You are one rockin' sista.

Better get at it, still moving a little slow today.

Hello to all..

Love and Hugs

annie175 08-24-2009 08:44 AM

Chelle...you a the sneaker inner today. Your weekend sounded blissful. Like a page out of a novel.....

diyana 08-24-2009 10:31 AM

Annie - Your weekend sounds like a blast! Your nametag is hysterical, definitely appropriate for a MILF Cougar! :lol3: My weekend was definitely something out of a blissful novel, while yours was something right out of a Girls Gone Wild video! Glad you had a fun time and made it home safely and in record time!

annie175 08-24-2009 01:05 PM

Ice Cream Social in the lobby.....FREE..from Coldstone Creamery...Cookie Dough, Strawberry Blondie, Turtle and Brownie Delite . Yes I broke down and am having strawberry. It tastes awful....not good....just horrible...hold on while I take a bite....

diyana 08-24-2009 02:38 PM

Annie - Coldstone Creamery! OMG! I would LOVE some brownie delight. Please stop the food porn!!

Shad 08-24-2009 07:00 PM

Tut tut - food porn at this hour of the day.

Annie - hope you have a busy night to make it all worth while when you go home stonkered after the 2nd job.

Michelle - keep plodding along. Eventually things will clear and you will feel better. If you want to clear the nose, hop on over and sniff the paint. Then go out into the garden and smell the flowers. Jasmine is in full bloom at the moment

Happy - been damaging the car I see. You road rager you. Nice of DH to clean up your messes!!!

Mel - get off the net and go to bed. You need some rest. Take a good book. with large print or better still a talking book so you can lie there, close your eyes and listen to the story.

Ceejay - Back at work already - those days off went fast.

I'm about to go find the cat who is due for her vet visit today. She was just here and now that she has spied the cat cage she is no longer visible. Little b*tch.
So far I have painted 3 door trims and a scotia. One more coat to go and one window trim to do. Getting there.
If it doesn't get too hot today, then I will be finishing off the side garden and trying to work out what to put in it once the fence get replaced. Then I guess I need to tackle my wardrobe and clean and clear that out. Plenty of work here to keep me busy.

MELODY525 08-25-2009 07:38 AM

SHE HAS HER MEETING WITH THE GOVT FRIDAY MORNING. ALL IS WELL IN MY CORNER OF THE WORLD AND I HOPE IT IS IN YOURS TOO
HAPPY TUESDAY/WEDNESDAY :scooter:

diyana 08-25-2009 07:51 AM

Happy Tuesday everyone -

I had a great day yesterday...got lots of errands done after work, and still had time to be outside and play frisbee/ball with my doggies! I'm gonna miss our outside play time this winter. I guess we'll just have to play fetch the toys in the house...the dogs love sliding on the kitchen linoleum anyway. I still have crud in my lungs that sent me into a coughing fit/asthma attack yesterday at work which scared my co-workers. A couple puffs on the rescue inhaler and I was doing a little better. Stupid lung crud.

Annie - I hope you weren't too tired after your long day. How many nights do you work this week?

Shad - Sniffing the paint would definitely clear my sinuses, and I can almost smell the jasmine blooming in your garden! Ahhhh. Hope you got the cat to the vet without shedding too much of your blood. Our cats hated the carrier and would hide when they saw it. And then put on the brakes so we couldn't get them in the darn thing. We found the best way to get them in the carrier was to stand the carrier on end with the open door at the top, then gravity would assist us in getting the cats in. Did you get your painting and wardrobe clearing done? I need to clear my wardrobe too. So much stuff of all different sizes.

Mel - You're so sweet. I wish you could come on over this weekend and enjoy a relaxing blissful weekend resting in the shade. One of my doggies has a new trick...jumping in my lap while I'm relaxing/sleeping on the chaise lounge. It was quite a startling wake up! But once up there, he calmed down and layed on my tummy and we both fell asleep. I hope your eyes are feeling better. You take it easy, girlfriend, and don't overdo.

I've gotta sign off for now....Lots to get done!

Love and big hugs to all,

happy2bme 08-25-2009 12:17 PM

Hi all,

They had to order the headlight replacement so we had to drop the car off this morning to get worked on. No time to post. Forgot we have a birthday lunch so I won't be able to post then either.

So a quickie for me.

Michelle, I hope you can get the crud dried up. Sure is hanging on a long time. Sinuses here are still in overload so if the same is true up your way, bah. Can't think of any thing to clean them out. Hope you feel better, bad if you have to resort to the puffer. :(

Mel, I'm sure you put all that work into the BBQ and then you probably won't even be able to enjoy it. Will the seniors fear you more once you turn into one of them or will you just be the head sassy pants?

Annie - I could never get into Coldstone Creamery. Maybe because I'm a purist when it comes to ice cream. I almost fell of the chair laughing at your stripper name. :lol3: somehow I have to work that into my next password

Shad - hope you get done with the loo soon and on to something more fun. Come on over, you can help DH with the flooring. Tho I might come home to find the 2 of you in the yard taking pictures of stuff :D

Time to run to lunch - to those I didn't get to quite yet.

diyana 08-25-2009 01:26 PM

We had a food and games "carnival" in one of the conference rooms to raise money for Juvenile Diabetes. I managed to avoid most of the fattening food, but there was a little brownie that called my name. So I indulged...but I could've done a lot worse.

Happy - I hope you enjoy the birthday lunch w/your coworkers. Bummer that you had to leave your car. I'm sure the crud will clear up eventually...today it is better than yesterday.

Just a few more hours until it's time to get home...no big plans for tonight...I'll play with the dogs and cut up the fruit I bought at the store yesterday.

Shad 08-25-2009 05:09 PM

Morning all,

Hope you are all feeling jovial and jubilant this morning!!!!

Nothing much new here. I'm off to the doctor this morning to get a new prescription for my fluid tablets. Hate going there since I will spend ages in a queue and then have to spend another age in the waiting room with a range of old magazines - none of which are complete copies and what is left is old gossip. Although come to think of it, it really is quite funny to hear that XXX has a baby bump and you think back and realise it must have been wind since XXX has had 15 different live in lovers since then and no children. She is still pining for an ex-love.
Following that it is more of the same to do around the place.

Mel - The flu here is a non event really. Sure we have lost approx 35 people who died of it, mostly children or pregnant women and all except the children and 1 man have had underlying medical conditions. The vaccine is not popular - how could it be when many of the doctors refuse to take it. Maybe you should just disappear when the bbq is on!

Happy - funny thing about car parts today, they can't fix anything and have to replace it. Hope it all goes in quickly today.
What flooring is going down at your place? Is this the hall?

Annie - how you feeling? Just too tired to post huh? Ah well. Sleep well.

Michelle - glad to hear that things are clearing in the chest. You'll be back to your brilliant best in no time.

Right, better go shower and get down to the doc.

ceejay52 08-25-2009 06:14 PM

Was in a downer of a mood even to the point where I thought that it was job burn out. But once I had a good night's sleep I realize I'll be another year older this week. I'm admitting to the fact that I'm getting old---er.

Got home last night to a humid house. I checked the line to the air conditioner and sure enough it was frozen up again. I'm not calling the landlord until Thursday. To much stuff from cleaning out the cabinets that don't have new homes yet. I left a window open a crack in the bath room last night and today. There will be allergens come through which I really dread because I had an allergy attack yesterday at work in front of my boss. He had bought some of those air freshners that go off when you walk in front of them. He set them right with the height of my face. I moved it to a different location and put the one in the bathroom a little higher.
If the house is humid tonight when I get home I'll turn the ac on to coool it off enough to cool down the house.

Michelle
Sounds like you may have pneumonia. My cousin had it for six weeks. Her doctor finally made xray's. She's over it tnow but she was one sick woman for awhile. Feel better soon. I hear you on the few more hours of work. I'm so ready for the week end.

To every one else. A big wave  I'll read more later.

diyana 08-26-2009 08:05 AM

Happy Wednesday ladies -

I'm saddened by the passing of Ted Kennedy. He was an icon in the Senate for 45 years and I believe he really was a champion for the people. He was well respected by both parties. Sad also that of the 4 Kennedy sons, he was the only one to die of natural causes. :( So much tragedy and sadness in the Kennedy family.

As for me, although my chest is still congested, I got lots of unplanned exercise in last night. I went down to the basement to do some laundry and found that one of our windows apparently had a leaky seal and let in a lot of rain water. Parts of the basement were flooded 1" deep...not as bad flooding as many people get...but bad enough. DH and I had to move stuff around and mop up all the water, which took nearly an hour. After that, we let a fan run all night and thankfully it's all dry today. DH will seal the window better so we won't have this leaking problem anymore. Tomorrow is weigh in and with no exercise for 2 weeks, I don't know what to expect, but I'm keeping my fingers :crossed: :) I did get a nice NSV today....I tried on some Size 16W slacks and they fit - COMFORTABLY!! :woohoo:

I'm hoping to be able to walk or go to the gym today...but if not, I'll play with the doggies...and since they don't retrieve very well, I get lots of exercise throwing the frisbee or the ball, and then chasing after them to get it, and then throwing it to a different part of the yard (repeat). They have me trained VERY well!

Shad - How odd that the docs aren't even taking the vaccine. There was a whole segment on the news last night about who should get the vaccine, etc. It was interesting. I hope to be back to my "brilliant best" very soon.

Ceejay - Sorry to hear your A/C is acting wonky. I hope the landlord can get it fixed soon. I don't think I have pneumonia...as it doesn't seem to be that deep in my lungs. I think it's just a stubborn case of bronchitis or some kind of virus. So you've got a b'day coming up? That must mean you're a Virgo too, just like me. My b'day is 2 weeks from today, and DH and I are hoping to take off the two days after Labor Day as a nice long weekend. Hopefully the weather will cooperate so we can do lots of fishing or hiking or other fun stuff.

I'd better get to work. A big  to everyone I missed. I'll try and check in with y'all later!

Lotsa love and hugs,

happy2bme 08-26-2009 08:34 AM

Good morning ladies,

Happy Hump Day / Garbage Day as Annie would say :D

Happy Birthday eve Ceejay - get ready for the big day tomorrow. Sorry to hear of the a/c woes. Still kind of warm enough where you need it once in a while, even if the nights are getting on the cool side.

Shad, I'm not sure about the vaccine myself. Some of the people at work got a mean case of the summer flu. I usually skip every other year on the flu shot to build my immunity but may get one this year. Did you get down to busy yesterday? As to your question, we want to replace the carpet in the downstairs bedroom with wood floors. I also want to do the computer room/office but that will be a a trick with the furniture. DH wants to do the entire upstairs in wood too. Not sure how far we will take it. You don't have to spend a ton of money if you don't want to and it really helps the resale value I think. I always bring my own reading material to the doctors office - the result of being stuck at the gyne and having nothing to read but Parents and Happy Baby Bellies or something like that.

Michelle - :yay: on fitting into those size 16s again! You are doing great. Hope you have a good w/i tomorrow. Bah and the basement clean up. I know those are no fun. Hope you had no papers sticking to the floor. Even 1 inch of water is a huge mess. :(

Yesterday the dishwasher popped, sparked, smoked and died. This after we spent $300 fixing the headlight on my car - a rock busted it. I hope we are not on a money pit trend. Can't afford that.

Better get off to work. and a good morning to Mel, Annie, Patty, Laura.

happy2bme 08-26-2009 08:35 AM

and yes RIP Ted Kennedy. He had some bumps in the road but he was an advocate of the people. It's the end of an era for us baby boomers.

MELODY525 08-26-2009 08:37 AM

MICHELLE HOPE THE LUNGS FEEL FREE AND CLEAR VERY SOON  WE WILL ALL MISS GETTING OUTDOORS THIS LIKE WE HAVE BEEN. MAKES ME FEEL TRAPPED!!!! WHAT A MESS AND SOO MUCH EXERCISE WITH THE LEAK!! YIKES!!! BUT CONGRATS ON THE SIZE 16 :cheer3:

HAPPY~ I TOLD THE BOSS THAT WHEN I GET AS BAD AS THE SENIORS TO JUST SHOOT ME AND STAND ME UP IN THE STORAGE ROOM...IT'S SUCH A MESS THAT NO ON WILL NOTICE ME!! HOPE THE DAY WENT WELL.

JEANETTE~ SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT THOSE AIR FRESHENERS AND THE ALLERGY ATTACK. I LICW IN FEAR OF STUFF LIKE THAT!! HOPE THE A/C LINE THAWS OUT AND YOU GET SOME GOOD RESTING COOL AIR!!

SHAD~ I HEAR YA ON THE OLD MAGAZINES AND THE QUEUES. HOPE IT WENT QUICKLY7 FOR YOU. YESTERDAY, I STAYED IN THE APARTMENT AND TURNED THE PHONE OFF!! A FUNNY STIRY WILL FOLLOW.....

:cofdate: GOOD MORNING CHICKS AND HAPPY HUMP DAY TO YOU ALL. I HAD TO LAUGH. WHEN THE LAST MAINT MAN LEFT YESTERDAY At 5 THSENIORS CALLED ME TO THE LOBBY BECAUSE THEY FOUND DOORS LEFT UNLOICKED BECAUSE OF THE BBQ....INCLUDING THE FRONT DOOR!:tantrum: THE OTHER MORNING I WENT DOWN TO FIND THE BACK OFFICE FULLY LIT UP AND THE FRIGGING DOOR WIDE OPEN! UNREAL. :faint:

AS FOR ME...I AM FEELING RESTEDR BUT PART OF THE DAY WAS SPENT ON THE PORCELAIN THRONE. http://www.clipartof.com/images/thumbnail/786.gif THERE IS JUST NO GETTING AWAY FROM THE FACT THAT I REQUIRE A/C EVERY DAY AND ALMOST ALL DAY. 4 DAYS IN AND OUT WAS OVERDOING IT...YA THINK?? :lol3:
TODAY IS ANOTHER MELIDAY AND I AM GOING TO SIT AND BE STILL!!
HAPPY WEDNESDAY/THJRSDAY :moped:
