Howdy chicks,
Today (this Sunday) is my least favorite day - turning the clocks ahead and losing an hour of an already time crunched weekend. On the other hand, my favorite day is 6 months away -when we gain an extra hour and have a 25 hour day.
We got 5 inches of the fluffy stuff today. I took pictures with my cell phone but for some reason it didn't want to transmit the pictures. It was a winterwonderland last night (well except on the roads where there were over 70 accidents from the bimbos and bozos who have no concept of SLOW DOWN when the weather gets a bit fiesty). The sun came out in full force today and by the afternoon it mostly had all melted. What didn't get done today will be gone by tomorrow.
We did our cat petting today. Poor kitties. Many of them stuck their paws out of the cage and tried to reach out to us as if to say "me, me - don't forget about me". DH and I got to darn near all of them. Some of them did not want to be held and cuddled but they sure enjoyed a head scratching and one of my special "kitty massages".
We were not able to pick out our door today. Apparently the door man's wife was in an accident with a truck this morning. She is banged up but not seriously injured thank goodness. DH took a look at the work order and thought it looked like it was around $5,000. That is substantially more than we were told at first, particularly since this is a fiberglass and not a wood door. We will head back to the store tomorrow to pick out something less expensive.
Caught up on the goings on with the family via my mom and sister tonight. My niece is having surgery like your DD Annie. Prayers and good wishes for both of them.
Rennie - I don't envy you all that snow. Just be careful walking, driving, shovelling.
Annie - the best mentor/manager I ever had in my life hailed from Anderson, Indiana. If only we could get him to talk faster, he said he was slow and thoughtful ...

Those emotional days are good for the soul, don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
Shad, I think it's quite amazing that your orchids are blooming again. We were led to believe they were delicate flowers but I'm starting to think otherwise.
Mel, I'm glad you got to talk to Miss Linda. How cool that must have been. Did they have the book available in larger print?
Well it's 1am - and since I will lose an hour of sleep I really should scoot off to bed now. DH wants to start taking daily walks. I have some laundry and all the meal planning and grocery shopping to do as well as some house cleaning tasks. And if I have a few hours I could tackle some extra work I brought home from the office. Life is too busy, slow the merry-go-round down, will you?
Might not get back here tomorrow.

to the Worldly Chicks.
