Well, it seems the Joy-eagle has landed in Vancouver. And the weather is suspiciously better all of a sudden - I swear Shad has an in with the weather gods. I agree with the opinion on bus travel. I hope at least it wasn't at jam-packed!
Shad - one thing I forgot to menion before - you should arrange to get to the airport fairly early on the 25th: we clear US customs in Van, and I have no idea how long it'll take.
Happy, by now your mother must be with you. I'm very envious of the love you feel for her. I sometimes wonder how my mother and I would have gotten along had she lived. Given my general prickliness, perhaps not perfectly, but I do enjoy the vicarious pleasure I get from hearing you talk of her with such warmth. Oh - I almost forgot:
get in that pool!!!!
Ceejay, sorry to hear about your uncle. I had never heard of six bypasses at once - is it a record? Will you be heading off to visit him and the family soon?
Meadow, did the neighbours see your train-chasing performance? You'll be known throughout town as the crazy chicken lady...
Mel, there's no way you're fobbing the whole Jumanji thing off on me. The resposibility is all yours, although it's true I liked the idea of an imaginary place. Now if it were already November in Narnia, I could probably play tour guide, but since I haven't even see the whole movie yet... Good thing there's still time to prepare before the end of the month.
Have you tried tiny little ear plugs for the bird?

And for yourself? How long will construction be going on? For a while we were having work done on the east wall of my condo, and at least twice I walked into the bedroom nekkid and found young men at my window on the 14th floor...

Probably harder on them than me.
Holly, since your bday is the same as Robin's, maybe you can do the tour guide thing in Jumanji? I'm sure he'll give you lots of inside info to share with us.
Today was only a half day at work, so I took advantage of the good weather for an adventure. Carla is now a Zip line wizard...! It was great fun, although I hated the bits involving walking on little suspended bridges.

I
loved the actual zooming along on a zipline. (Never would have considered doing it if I hadn't seen it on the Amazing Race and realized even "regular" people could do it.) If it's nice out tomorrow I may go and do the more advanced run after work. Anyone who wants to know what I'm talking about should check out ZipTrek on-line.

to Ruth and Madcat. Too much fresh air, time to get in the nightie and zzzzzz.
