Hi Gang . . .
My humour is definitely better than yesterday, but still not exactly 'up to snuff'. I'm sure it's just a left-over reaction to the anesthetic and will no doubt pass in another day or so. At least the weather has been sunny . . . although cold . . . so that helps my mood a bit. Tomorrow is WWI for me and I'd be very surprised to see anything good pop up on the scale . . . but I'll just keep on plodding along and things will eventually go the way I want them to. :^: See you all again soon. Keep things moving and shaking, girls. :carrot: |
Just a quick not to say that I jogged in place, paced the floor in a semi-jog, did some jumping and just generally moving really good....I lasted all of 10 minutes (truthfully, I probably didn't last quite that long). Oh well, it burned a few extra calories that wouldn't have otherwise been burned and it made me feel all proactive for a few minutes. :) Maybe I'll do more later....maybe.
|
Okay, I think I've overposted today! lol Been a stressful one, but I'm glad to report a 1.4 loss for the week. I'll change my ticker tomorrow. Gotta run now...just had to share my good news! :)
|
Hi eveyone, Just a quick pop-in. What's with all of us? We are all so busy busy this week, me too.
Linda, I'm glad to see you posting again. I hope you're completely up to snuff by tomorrow. Sorry to hear about the upcoming hysterectomy. Tina, Boy your husband doesn't do anything spur of the moment does he? It would take months for me to make a decision like sell the house. Congrats to the losers since I last posted - Boy we have several with good weigh ins. Take care everyone and I hope to do more personals tomorrow. |
Nikel sorry to hear about your friend. I could not imagine having to go through that.
Diana Way to go on the exercise. Linda glad to hear you are feeling better Tammy busy here too, hope things are going well for you. Tina hope everything goes good for you guys with your house. Scales have gone back up to 220 even though I have stayed on track with food and exercise and I am just about to drown them in the bathtub. Well gotta get to work. Check back later. |
Another crappy week of the scales moving in the wrong direction. Oh well, sooner or later they will learn how to cooperate because I am really not doing the bad behaviour that the scales would tend to indicate. :( Sometimes things are just not fair.
Hope everybody else has a good day. Keep it moving and shaking gang. See you later. :carrot: |
Good morning all! I figure it's about time I take some ME time and sit down and make a good honest post. Would you guys believe that our house has gone up $208,000!!?? Unfortunately you have to spend that much to buy another decent new one. So we'd basically swap houses and not pay down our mortgage. But that doesn't seem to deter my hubby. He likes the new house plan and frankly so do I. If I knew then what I know now I would had never built a 2 storey home. I guess you really do learn from your mistakes. I still don't know what road this will take us down, it would be extremely hard to move from here. This feels like my baby in a way because I watched it grow from a hole in a ground to a nice home. We shall see!
Diana, I feel for you girl. Last week TOM took me for a whirl spin, literally. I spun out of control and the worst thing I could have done was to not come here for support. Doesn't matter how often you post, just keep posting to help you get through your tough "hormonal" phase of TOM. Congrats on the loss by the way. You're really rockin' it! Linda, I'm glad to know your feeling a little better. It'll take time to fully shake it off I'm sure but as long as your on the path to recovery is great to know. We'll keep plodding along together! Tammy, great to see you! My hubby has dropped hints for the past year regarding our house and I thought then he was nuts to even think of it so soon. I mean it is nuts! LOL! Robbin, a threat of scale-acide seemed to always work before. I'd say try it again and see if they treat you any better tomorrow! Hang in there girl! Have a great day ladies! Keep strong and be powerful in your choices today! TTFN! |
I'm curious Tina - as the vast majority of family homes here are two storey homes, with flats generally occupied by singles and bungalows being chiefly reserved for the elderly and the disabled who can't manage stairs, what do you feel are the downsides of living in a two storey home?
|
Hey everyone- sorry for not posting much. Sick kids, eating like crap hasn't made me a motivated poster!
Tina- aren't housing prices crazy?! Will you PM me and remind me where you are again? I think I have a friend moving to your town- or at least where I think your town is, lol. I'll try to check in later~ |
Robsia, I can certainly understand why you'd might be confused why I'd want to give up a two storey home, especially since I have a family. Here we have a variety of house plans other than bungalows and two storey. I'm not sure if you are familiar with a modified bi-level home, but that is what I'm interested in. When you walk into the front entrance you have 5-6 steps up to the main level or down to the basement. The basement is fully developed with bedrooms and a bath and a big family room. The main floor has kitchen, dining, living room, bathroom and two bedrooms. Off of the main floor you have another 5-6 steps to the master suite, which is over the attached garage, with ensuite bathroom and walk-in closet. I feel that this style of home is a better use of space. Nothing would be wrong with a two storey, I would just like to limit the steps and get a better use of a basement. Whereas now, we never use the basement..I don't like the darkness and coldness of it. The home we're looking at is a walk-out onto ground level right out to the back yard. I guess it is personal preference. Hope you can make sense of all that...didn't mean for it to get so long! LOL!
|
Hey ladies a quick pop in. I have good news that has nothing to do with weight. I want to thank any and all that have kept my family in their prayers. Power of prayer has worked and My husband will not be leaving for Iraq. The mission his company was selected for has been cancelled. YAY.
I came very close this morning to having a head on collision and want to thank God again for missing the guy. The only reason I missed him has to be because God took over. By all rights I should have slammed into him. Scales are still sitting at 220 but my mood is so good this morning even the scales aren't bothering me. |
Robbin, That's fabulous! You must be on :cloud9:. I'm so glad to hear that for you and your family. Somebody is certainly looking out for you today all around. :)
|
my lateral stepper arrived this morning, boy does it work those leg muscles! i could only manage 5minutes and my legs were burning. but iv done 3 x 5 minutes so 15 in total, bet me legs are gonna ache tomorow!
still on track with food too, we went to a pizza hut birthday party yesterday and i only had salad, that was really hard as i love pizza and hate salad but i did it so i was proud of myself :D |
YAY, Liza. I too had to battle pizza. TOM is lurking in my very near future and I'm craving (with a vengence) pizza! We went to Subway last night. I had a subway sandwich, but my daughter had a cheese pizza. She had 4 pieces left over...I finally asked my husband to go throw it away before I ate it all. I had stood it all I could. Not much better today, but am at work instead of at home so the refrigerator is not haunting me...I fear what might happen if I were home today. :( Why, oh why does it have to be so hard???
I've had only 7 points today. YAY ME! My throat is getting sore though. Good news though....my pants are almost literally falling off of me....at only 10 lbs lost! YIPPEE! I get to go shopping this weekend! :) I showed hubby at lunch today how big they were in the waist...he asked how I was keeping them up! lol Have a wonderful day everyone! |

I wasn't confused, just curious. I'm aware that in the US you have much more versatility in home design (and I'm very jealous). Building land is very much at a premium here, which is why most homes are designed to take up as little ground space as possible. Even three storey houses are becoming more common these days, as well as large apartment complexes which mean the builders can have ten homes in the space that two would have taken up in the past, maximising their profit of course. But the only downsides to a two-storey home I could think of would be the stairs. I just wondered what it was that you know now that you didn't know then. ;) I have occasionally browsed websites which sell home plans and, as I said I am SO jealous - there are so many gorgeous designs available. Maybe when I'm rich one day I'll use one. All you seem to be able to get these days round here is a basic three-bed box. |
just popping back in quickly before i hit the shower, iv just done 40minutes on treadmill...yes you read that right...me most unfit person ever has just walked on treadmill for 40minutes non stop! feeling ever so slightly pleased with how things are going and hope i can stick to it
so for today i have done 15minutes on stepper, 40 minutes on treadmill and 400 reps with weights. :carrot: :cb: :carrot: :cb: :carrot: :cb: :carrot: :cb: :carrot: :cb: :carrot: :cb: |
Hi there chickies . . . look at that, it's February already. Today was sunny and cold but tomorrow we are supposed to be having another gigantic storm. Actually, February 2 is probably the only day of the year I don't mind it being overcast . . . the groundhog won't be able to see his shadow . . . but I could do without the 'storm' part. :(
TINA . . . . . . Glad you are OK with the idea of moving, because it can be so very stressful, but since you want to do it, you should be fine. The new plan you are describing sounds nice . . . what I would call either a 'raised bungalow' or a 'split entry' . . . you get the advantages of pretty much one floor living but with a nice daylight basement. ROBSIA . . . . . . One thing we have lots of in Canada . . . land (Of course, some of it is pretty much uninhabitable except by seals and polar bears :D) . . . although you never know it if you lived in Toronto or Montreal. We tend to build up in those cities because the land there is so much in demand and therefore very expensive. ROBBIN . . . . . . Such wonderful news about your husband. Wonderful that you avoided that accident, too. . . you are very right that somebody is certainly looking out for you and your family today. DIANNE . . . . . . Two great NSVs girl. Isn't it amazing that we can get so happy about passing up food that we love and losing our pants? :dizzy: LIZA . . . . . . Wow, you are really becoming an exercising diva, woman. Keep it up! And send me the same 'bug' that has bitten you, please. :^: Afraid exercise and I have only a casual relationship. :( Hi TAMMY  and Hi to everybody else lurking out there. Have a great moving and shaking evening and I'ss see you soon. :carrot: |
Robbin, that's incrediable news! I know that you have a big weight lifted from your shoulders now. I'm so happy for you both! Thanks goodness you were protected from danger this morning...what a scary close call.
Tammy, HI! Hope you're doing well! Liza, you're strength is awesome. I'm not quite so sure I could be that strong right now, I'm so impressed. Good for you! With that determination you'll sure to be getting great results. Way to go! Diana, I so relate to the fridge being an annoyance and calling my name. Sometimes after Alyssa goes to bed (always the worst snack attacks at that time), I take a glass of ice water up to my room and steer clear of the kitchen the rest of the evening. Hang tough dear! Robsia, I guess I could have summed it all up in a couple of words and said, the stairs! LOL! I watch a lot of british home shows here and I see what you're homes are like. Not to rub it in or anything, but I can see why you'd be envious. There isn't a whole lot of space and I could never understand why bedrooms didn't have closets..on the shows they call them wardrobes and ppl gasp at the fact of a built in wardrobe..LOL! But you know, there are a lot of tiny spaces that ppl cram themselves into here in north america too, so don't feel to bad. Not much happening in my day. Hope you're all doing well! TTFN! |
Linda, you described it better than I could! LOL! I can't dwell on it wondering what will happen or else I WILL stress myself out. We went to the realator this morning to "make a deal", we said we'd have the house if the seller agreed to a condition that we'd get 45 days to sell ours first. Haven't heard back yet. We shall see!
|
Hi Ladies...Just a quick pop-in for tonight. I wanted to let you know that the scales stayed the same this week, so I'm happy about that. We are in a deep freeze and I can't seem to get warm. Our power was out for 4 hours this afternoon and I can't believe how fast the house cooled down. I cuddled up with my dog under a bunch of blankets to stay warm. We are going to be -20 or colder for the next week. I'm so ready for SPRING to get here!
I'll be back tomorrow to do personals. Cheryl |
i hope i get a good result on scale day cos the pain at the moment is putting me off, my leg muscles are killing me today. i woke up at 3.30am in so much pain i couldnt get back to sleep. my thigh muscles just burned :(
on the plus side though, i think im starting to enjoy exercising!!!!!!!! never thought id hear myself say that:dizzy: cheryl wow -20 sounds cold, you stay snuggled under that blanket and keep warm. meowee, sending you some exercise vibes, i do seem to have been bitten by the bug, not sure how long this motivation and energy will last but hopefully its here to stay! tina, dont know bout strngth but determination yes..i am determined to lose this weight. i am more determined than i have ever been, i want this to work so bad i dont want to be overweight anymore. diane, i know how you feel, what is it about that time of the month grrr i could eat the paint off the walls, just think yourself luck you only have that battle once a month, i sometimes have it every 2 weeks! robbin, so glad to hear your familys good news, and be careful on those roads girl! have a great day y'all luv n hugs xxx |
Liza - Sometimes a bananna before bed will help with those leg cramps. I know it sounds weird but its the potassium(sp) in the bananna that helps.
Cheryl - we aren't quite as cold as you guys but it is cold here, we have been in the teens most of the week with a little snow and ice. Right now I have a little electric heater sitting under my desk. Tina and Robsia - I know that in a lot of places people cram themselves in to small spaces. I just don't think I could do it. We have 10 acres in the country and our closest neighbor is about a mile away and I love it. I love my privacy and my country life. Linda - I understand how you feel about those winter storms. I feel the same. We have had so much snow and ice this winter that if it was 10 years before we saw it again it would be too soon for me. Diana - Shopping for clothes is fun when you get to go to new sizes isn't it. I think I am gonna have to go shopping this weekend too. None of my shirts are fitting right these days. Tammy - I am very happy that hubby will not be leaving. However it is not a permanent thing. The news is that it has just been pushed back a year, but now I have another year before I have to deal with it. Well ladies the scales are not budging at all I am still stuck at 220. I just don't understand what is going on. I have kept my food numbers on track all week and exercised every single day with no progress. UGH!!! Something is gonna have to give or I am gonna go crazy. Well better get to work. Check back later. |
Hi there, chickies . . .
Well, the "Triangulation of the Eastern Rodents" -- Shubenacadie Sam (in Nova Scotia); Punksutawny Phil (in Pennsylvania); and Wiarton Willie (in Ontario) -- have decided that Winter is almost over. Not one of them saw his shadow this morning. Yippee. Of course, can you really believe a bunch of groundhogs? :o Time will tell. But it is nice to have a unanimous decision for a change. :D Other than that, nothing is very exciting around here. We still have a storm warning, but so far not much of anything has developed and that is just fine with me. :) TINA . . . . . . I don't imagine you'll have a problem. Alberta is in a real booming market right now, especially up where you are. CHERYL . . . . . . do you guys have a local groundhog? If not you can borrow the three mentioned above. LIZA . . . . . . "Love" used in the same sentence as "Exercise" . . . does not compute! Don't forget to rest once in awhile to let those sore muscles heal. ROBBIN . . . . . . I know how you feel, girl. We've just got to keep on keeping on until the silly old scale:devil: gives in . . . and he will. Okay everybody, I'm off to do a miserable little session with Buddy and the Frog, but it will not be what I would call "lovely". Keep doing the good stuff as much as you can gang. Moving and shaking will carry us through . . . and here's a little :dust: to help us along the way. See you soon. :carrot: |
Hello everyone!! Guess what? We had about a 3 minute snow flurry today! It was soooo exciting! It's the only snow I've seen since the single 3 minute flurry we had last winter. My husband and I walked outside and he said "Look, it's either snowing or my dandruff is acting up again!" lol I so wish some of you who keep getting all the snow would send it on down....Louisiana never gets any!! :( When my son was 2 (he's 8 now) was the last decent snow we had...we got about 3 inches that lasted about 2 days. He doesn't even remember it all that well. I guess it's all this global warming they've been talking about this week.
Well, I've had about 7 points today. I kinda fell off the wagon a little bit yesterday. I think I probably stayed within my point range, but it was probably close. I got my son corn fritters for an afterschool snack yesterday from a convenient store. I ate like 5 of them...for those of you who haven't experienced a corn fritter...it's deep fried batter wrapped cream style corn. I'm sure that in itself was atleast 3 points. I had 11 for supper last night. Then 2 more after that. I was right at my limit, I think. And we're having a superbowl get together Sunday at my house with boiled shrimp, jambalaya, dessert.....hope I can be good that day. Guess I'll just have to be extra good today and tomorrow just in case..... Robbin....don't give up! I know you won't....It's just a plateau that'll eventually have to let go of you. Keep doing the things you know are right and it'll pay off..... Liza....I'll be glad if I ever get to a point of actually enjoying exercising. They say you just have to find what you enjoy "doing" and make that your workout. I don't think surfing the internet constitutes exercise...and that's what I enjoy. lol We're discussing buying bikes...I think in warm weather I'd enjoy that...but not now!! YIKES! We may never get snow, but it gets bitterly cold...so much so that it'll cut right thru ya. Can't imagine bike riding in the cold! Maybe I'll find my niche.....if I find the energy to look hard enough! lol Cheryl, when I can't get warm (my feet usually are cold!) I go run about 3 inches of almost hot water in the bath tub and soak them in it then put on warm socks and cuddle up under a blanket. I'm warm in no time! As much as I'd love to see more than 3 snow flakes, I, too am ready to see warmer temps! They say mr. grondhog didn't see his shadow today....... :) Linda, think you could wish that snow storm on down to Louisiana?? LOL I don't know many folks here who'd be sad to see it coming....we're snow-deprived! Robsia and Tina, we, too are about to put our house on the market (within the next year). We were blown away when we started looking at houses and when we had the realtor come look at ours. We'd not paid too much attention to the prices of homes in several years....they've skyrocketed!!! Which is good and bad...we'll make money on our house, but we'll have to spend ever bit of it to buy something comparable to what we have now. I guess it's good that we want to downsize, huh? Still, we'll probably spend most of what we make on our house! I guess it could be worse...we could be homeless, right? Well, this post turned out about 4 times longer than I'd thought it would when I sat down. Sorry I've bored everyone! :) :) Hope everyone has a great weekend...don't know how much I'll be back on between now and next week...if I don't "see" you all before Monday, stay on track and positive! Let's all have baggy breeches together! Won't it be fun???? LOLOLOL |
Linda, your getting ahead of yourself there girl...love is going a bit far...im just starting to not hate it so much, i certainly dont love it and given a choice i would much rather park my butt on the sofa or computer chair! :)
and iv taken a day off exercising today, went for a 30minute walk with my son but havnt done any workout my muscles are still too stiff. Robin, thanks for the tip about the banana, i will have to give that a try. |
Robbin...I'm so happy to hear that your Hubby will not be going to Iraq. I know from experience that a very big weight has been lifted from your shoulders. How many more years does your Hubby have left till he retires? The years do go by fast except when they are on deployment, then they creep by. We are extremly cold today and it's suppose to get even worse by tonight. They are saying that we could hit -50 with the wind chill tonight and talking about closing the interstate, which I don't think is a bad idea. I would love to be able to plug a small heater in the car to keep my feet warm. The heater just wasn't doing it today. I wrapped up in the blanket we have for the dog.
Tina...Isn't it amazing how much houses have gone up in value. Your home sounds lovely, but I totally understand wanting everything on one level. I live in a 1910 two story farm house with a partial basement, but would love to have a single story home with a full basement if we continue to live in North Dakota. We have a reenforce stormroom in our basement to go to during a tornado, but it is only big enough for four peolpe to stand in. I would like to have something big enough that we could sleep in,if needed. I'm also like Robbin, we have 10 acres and our closes neighbor is a mile away. I love the peace and quite! Diane...Congrats on the weight loss! You are doing GREAT!!! For Super Bowl, try to eat low point meals for breakfast and lunch so you can enjoy the party. Don't forget to drink plenty of water and have FUN!!! Liza...WOW! You are doing AWESOME with the exercise. I'm so proud of you:hug:. Robbin gave you some good advise for the leg cramps to eat bananas, but don't forget to drink plenty of water. That will also help with the cramps. Linda...Yes we have a groundhog and the darn thing saw his shadow the last couple of years and we had an early spring. Today he didn't see his shadow and they are saying spring will be early. Not holding my breath!! You wait and see, I'll be telling you all about the April blizzard when we get one. Not to mention that we are having our coldest temps in five years. Robsia...I was watching International House Hunters and they were in England. What a shock! I couldn't believe how much homes/flats were going for and how small they were. Of course homes here in the US are very high as well. We would love to move back to Oregon to be close to family, but we are looking at 250,000.00 for a home, and that still doesn't get us what we have now. May still stay in North Dakota where rural homes are reasonable. Only have to deal with the cold six months out of the year.:D Well I need to get a casserole made for a potluck we are going to tonight, if the weather holds out. Have a good weekend. Cheryl :val1: |
Does everyone else change their ticker as soon as they lose a pound or two or am I the only one that wants to jump right to it?? I've lost another pound or two....but am becoming skeptical about changing my ticker....I don't want to have to move it back up. :(
This is kinda changing the subject, but I just want to take a minute to thank everyone who posts here. You all are such an encouragement to me....I know that I'd never be able to do this and make it through each struggle of a day without the support of each of you here....even if you don't speak directly to me, I find encouragment in the words said to others. I don't have anyone personally that I feel comfortable talking to about my weight. I can come here and say the things I want (and sometimes need) to say. I talk to my husband about most of it, but it feels good to come here and be able to announce that I weigh 230 lbs and not feel uncomfortable about it. My husband has no idea how much I weigh...I mean, I'm sure he has an idea, but he doesn't know for sure. Anyway, thanks everyone....for sharing, for going thru this journey with me, for listening, supporting....You guys are awesome and I'm glad I have each of you "in my life." Okay, enough mush.....I think my pms is really kicking in....Gotta run get some stuff done before hubby gets home and thinks I didn't do anything while he was out! :) Take care everyone....stay warm and eat smart! :) Diana |
aw diana, i know what you mean, its good to have this place for support. it sure helps me stick to it. i also dont have anyone who i can talk to this about in real life so having you gals to talk to who know how im feeling and how hard this weight loss journey is really means a lot to me.
re tickers i weigh in once per week and change my ticker to whatever it is that day. if i sometimes have a peek at the scales during the week i dont change my ticker cos i know i fluctuate a lot throughout the week |
Good Afternoon, Chickies . . .
It's fairly mild here today (well comparatively) and that's probably why the sky has been dribbling ice tears all day. We seem to have been missed by the really bad storm they were threatening all day yesterday so I guess we are ahead of the game overall. :) But I hate ice . . . it scares the everlovin' beegeezess outa me. CHERYL . . . . . . Guess that explains where our extra cold weather is hiding. So very sorry . . . but I hope you can keep it for a little bit longer. :^: Try to stay warm. DIANA . . . . . . You can get mushy on us anytime you like, girl. You know that we all feel just about the same way. It is absolutely amazing around here, the way the love oozes out of every post. LIZA . . . . . . Oh yes, that's exactly what it is . . . the "we're all in it together" feeling that everthing you say is really understood. When it comes to 'moving the ticker', I have to admit I often hop on the scales every day or so, just to see how stuff is going, but I "officially" only record my weight after my WWI . . . and that sometimes means record it only in my Excel program. Because my ticker only goes in one direction -- downward -- to the right. The human body works only on its own schedule. Many is the time I've seen it down on a Sunday or Monday and back up again on Wednesday. Or, conversely, up on Monday and back down on Wednesday. I try to be a little logical about it . . . as we all know it takes 3500 calories to move a pound . . . so unless you "know" that you have been extra good or extra bad to the tune of that many calories, the pound (or pounds) in question cannot be real. For example, on Wednesday, I was up for the second week in a row and I put the 241.2 into my Excel program. I know I really did not 'deserve' to be 4.6 pounds above ticker based on what I'd been eating -- in my case, I think it is a reaction to the anesthetic in my system from that little surgery on Jan.26. Lo and behold, this morning (only 3 days later) I weigh 235.4 for a loss of 6.2 pounds (a 217,000 calorie deficit). . . I don't think so. I certainly hope today was the more accurate number . . . but only the scale:devil: knows for sure what the number will be by next Wednesday. Sorry for running off at the mouth like that :o . . . guess what I'm really trying to say is the number on the scale is really only one indication that you are succeeding on the great winding journey to better health and fitness. As long as it keeps moving in the right direction over the long haul, everything is fine. :D Have a great moving and shaking kind of day, girls. See you soon. :carrot: |
just realised i havnt been updating my exercise ticker and cant remember what iv done so just gonna reset it a day early, i've done more than my target tho so gonna increase it to 30mins per day target. had a bit of a chocolate binge on friday hopefully that wont have ruined this weeks scales result. yesterday did 30minutes on treadmill, did 40minutes this morning. weigh in tomorow morning. fingers crossed!!
hope y'all are having a good weekend xxx |
Fingers . . . toes . . . eyes . . . all crossed. Hope things go well for you tomorrow LIZA
Well gang . . . . . . wherever you are and whatever you are doing, I hope it is lots and lots of fun. :D I did a big bunch of filing today . . . bad, bad habit of letting it pile up until I can't find the top of my desk and everytime Mouse swishes his tail he knocks something on the floor. He's gone to sit someplace else now . . . can't stand things this neat I guess. Hey -- it won't last. :o Everytime I clean up the mess, I promise myself I'll 'never let it get like that again' . . . just one more promise I know I'll never keep. :( Guess it's about time to make the big salad and figure out some proteins to go with it. Have a great moving and shaking evening, everybody . . . see you soon. :carrot: |
4lbs lost this week!!
|
Well girls, GOOOOOOOOD Mornin'! I'm swollen up this mornin....too much salt when I overate last night at our super bowl get together! :( But, I'm not going to stress over it AT ALL!! I'd had an otherwise awesome weekend (food-wise...and otherwise, also, I guess). It'll either not matter to the scales and I'll keep the loss I'd already had, or I'll go back up to a non-loss for the week. I think I'm okay with that either way! :) Next weekend will also be a challenge....we're going out of town with the same family that we got together with this weekend. They're definitely NOT health conscious people.....pretty much the only place they like to eat at is McDonald's...or what we call "Heartattack in a bag." Haven't figured out what I'm gonna do yet. Guess I'll try for a really, really good week and just try not to blow it this week.
Hey, everyone have a wonderful Monday! I"m sure I'll be back later........ Diana |
im finding willpower i never knew i had, took my son to macdonalds today and all i had was a bottle of water, the other day took him to burger king and again i had water. just a few weeks ago i would have been stuffing myself with burger fries coke and icecream! im so proud of me!
|

When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours in a day are not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar and the 2 cups of coffee...[/QUOTE]
I love that story. Hello, everyone, I haven't lost any weight yet, so far as I know, but truthfully, I still need to buy a scale. How often do you guys weigh yourselves, I generally think that once a week is a good amount. |
Good Morning . . . :D Woke up just about frozen this morning. I don't have the heat on in my bedroom and I had shut the door last night because one of the cats was driving me insane. Guess the wind shifted overnight and the temperature dropped way down. Brrrrrr . . . outside says it's -30C (-22F) this morning. At least the sun is shining.
Finally gave up on my cordless telephone/answering machine yesterday and moved a land-line phone upstairs to my computer room and then bought a sweet little answering-machine-only which i just finished setting up. Now I'm short one phone -- downstairs in the rec room but that room doesn't get used much in the Winter anyway, so I'll worry about that in the Spring. Well, I had a chocolate meltdown yesterday evening . . . . . . ate about 125 grams of nice, rich, dark chocolate. Boo . . . hiss . . . and I am paying for it with a runny-tummy this morning. :o Today WILL be better. LIZA . . . . . . Great loss, girl and great work with keeping up the exercise and avoiding the pitfalls at McDonalds and Burger King. You are really doing good stuff, Chickie. DIANNA . . . . . . Good girl . . . one day definitely does not make or break the whole adventure. Actually McDonalds is getting a little better. You can now get a small salad as part of a meal instead of the fries; and the deli-sandwiches are a lot better than a hamburger . . . still not the healthiest food in the world :( , but better than before. RHIANNON . . . . . . Welcome to the group. Afraid I can't place that quote? . . . tell us more. :D I agree that once a week is often enough to let the scale- know what is going on although I have to admit to sneaking a look at other times. Just so long as you realize that the human body fluctuates wildly and you have to ignore the short-term and look at the long-term pattern, you'll be fine. Hope we'll be seeing you regularly now that you've found us. Okay . . . everybody else . . . where are you all hiding . . . come out, come out, wherever you are . . . we miss you. Anyway, gang, I'm off to try to do something constructive with the day. Keep things moving and shaking and here's some :dust: to keep us all heading in the right direction - downward. See you again soon. :carrot: |
Sorry I wasn't here yesterday. I was in a state of depression. I was very bad over the weekend and my scales went up to 225, yep 6 pounds up from ticker. YUCk. Today they are back down to 222. That stupid number I can't seem to get away from.
Hope everyone is doing ok. Check back later. |
Awwwww, Robbin....don't let it get you down. YOU CAN DO THIS! They're just scales....show 'em a thing or two!!!! Don't let 'em win!
Rhiannon, I'm not as obsessive this go 'round with weighing as I've been in the past. I do weigh probably every couple of days, atleast, though. I can't make it a whole week....I think it's physically impossible for me to wait that long. I'm not getting discouraged as easily this time either. I don't know if it's aging and maturity or what....but I know it's going to come off slow...no more than a few lbs a week at best so when it jumps around, I just generally don't stress about it. You need to get scales, though. You definitely wanna keep up with your progress to keep you motivated! Linda, I'm finding that I have usually one "bad" day per week and it's not effecting me. Don't let it get ya down....your meltdown may not even "show up." Liza, WOW! I'm speechless....your willpower amazes me! I don't think I could ever go in McDonald's or Burger King and NOT eat anything! Even if it was a grilled chicken sandwich or a salad. And your exercise is awesome! I'm curious to see what this does for your loss over the next few days. Anybody know where everyone else is? I know all to well what happens when I slowly let more and more time pass in between my posts....I eventually quit coming. I'm hoping that's not the case with our folks who aren't regularly posting. Where are you guys? We miss you!!! Well, today is WW weigh in for me. I think I've lost atleast 1/2 lb. I've had PMS for a week now, so TOM must be getting really close, which hopefully will make for a really, really good weigh in next week! :) :) :) This close to TOM, I"ll be happy with any loss at all!! Last month, when TOM finally came, it was good for a couple of lbs.....so I'll be happy to weigh next week. I was on track yesterday...and hopefully will be today, although I had one bite of chocolate this morning...a kid at my son's school had made chocolate last night and insisted that I have some this morning. It was tasty! But surprisingly I only wanted the one bite. YAY!! I"ll let everyone know how weigh in goes....may be tomorrow though. Have a great day, ladies! |
Hey girls, sorry I've been MIA these past few days. It's been really busy and stressful. We've put our house on the market saturday so I've been digging things out and clearing things that have been "swept under the rug" type thing. Trying to keep in "show home" order is very tiring. I had an agent open house this morning, which wasn't all that successful. I've been amazingly good even through all this stress, I haven't endulged once! I even came out on the other side of a weekend lighter than when I entered it. Trust me, that rarely ever happens!!
Now, lemme try to catch up! Cheryl, oooh gosh...sounds like it's awful cold where you are. Hope you're keeping warm. I hear ya about spring...it's about time already! Liza, congrats on the loss! You're doing so well. I can tell there is such a difference in you this time. Seems like your heart is totally into this. Keep up that great work and we'll be seeing less of you more often! ;) Robbin, have you ever had your thyroid checked? Just a suggestion as to why your scales seem to be such a bugger. You work so hard and I would love to see you get rewarded big time! Linda, another one with cold weather! I'm glad our weather seems to be hovering around the (-) teens. But I'm so ready for some nice WARM weather the kind that melts the nasty ice! We've had freezing rain and it's just awful out there! Diana, I think you're about the only one I hear that's excited about winter weather. LOL! There is plenty up here that I'd be glad to give away! It's the same here with regards to buying a house using what money you'd make selling your own. Be awesome if you were to move outta town or like you said buy smaller. I mean if we'd sell now we'd make 208 grand, I'd love to take the money and run! LOL! Rhiannon, I weigh everyday so I can try to keep myself in line when I have to. I know a lot of ppl can't handle the fluctuations but it doesn't seem to affect me too much as long as I know that I'm doing everything possible to change my weight. Well, have a great day everyone! I'll try to be more of a presence more often! TTFN! |
