Keep it moving and shaking, girls. See you again soon. :carrot:[/QUOTE]

ELEM-PGF 01-10-2007 02:43 PM

Well girlies, mid day check in today! I am about 10 hours into making it 24 without eating any sugar. I have gotten so far off on my eating that i am implementing the day at a time plan full force. have semi planned supper-- chicken on the george foreman with some melted cheese and veggies, probably brussel sprouts and green beans. Like i said sort of planned.

Louie - cont ed classes can just wear me out! hopefully the time will pass quickly so we can see you for more than fly bys again!

Liza - don't fret over the day off, we are human not machine! And yay on the 30 min! Elevation is a killer for sure, but i do believe there is some truth in the longer the better. Your steadfastness with the exercise is making me feel really guilty! I have got to get a move on!

Dianne - could give you lots of cliche's about don't be so hard on yourself and all that but as we all know we all struggle with the shoulda coulda woulda's! We are glad to have another real person who shares the battle of getting this done. And as for the mom in law thing, oooh hard one. I know what you mean about not wanting her in on the details of what is going on, i know i wouldn't want mine there for sure!!! Glad you found another meeting and hubby going with you is awesome!!!

Robbin - so did you get the exercise in? I really feel like that is key right now, but still haven't made myself get back on track yet.

Tina - i vote for the sucked in stomach thing, i agree with the doc, better measurement of what fat you have not lack of stomach muscle! I amy try to get some measurements here in the next couple of days, have to co-ordinate some time with one friend not the group things i have been doing, not ready for the whole gang to see it all hanging out!

Nicole - glad to hear your son is better and i know what you mean about a sick child taking up all your time! Congrats on the 5 pounds!!! great job!

Linda - Hope you are conscious and moving into a full day of wakefullness! We have had some weird weather but i really thing you beat me on that one!

Well girls gotta run. Supposed to be doing paperwork before i go to get a hair cut, may try something new. I am trying to let it grow and this in between thing is killing me!!

AndrewsMum 01-10-2007 03:25 PM

checking in again iv just done another 20mins on the tread and 150:lifter:
maaaaan im tired now!

meowee 01-10-2007 04:55 PM

WHAT WE LOST IN 2006
Robsia - 67 lbs
Tammy - 87 lbs
Linda - 45 lbs
Emily - 32 lbs
Cheryl - 37 lbs
Tina - 57 lbs
Robbin - 61 lbs
Erin - 55lbs
Jordon - 47 lbs

Just updating the list . . . thanks for the info, JORDON  . . . glad to see we didn't lose you. Hope school is doing good by you.

Well, I lost my whole afternoon to the darn old Estradiol reaction again . . . today I had even more nasty little side-effects and had just decided to take the next dose at bedtime tomorrow night, since I want to sleep then anyway, when my GP calls to say he has the results of the ultra-sound I had done on Monday and they are not looking too great. It was the GYN who ordered the test, but have I heard from him? of course not. Then the GP says he will drop a line to the GYN and that I should stop using the vagifem until I hear from the GYN . . . Don't these darn doctors ever talk to each other . . . at least the medication won't be causing me to sleep all day any more . . . probably be wide awake for weeks, :tired: wondering what comes next. Maybe I can have a hysterectomy done at the same time as my cataract surgery . . . surely the two doctors would be working far enough apart not to keep gettin in each others road. :dizzy: Hey, don't imagine a cataract is worth anything, but surely a uterus should account for a pound or two. :^:

Anyway, that's my fun day. Hope yours has been a lot better. Have a great evening of moving and shaking, gang. See you later. :carrot: Sorry for the rant. :D

Happy Wednesday!

Hey girls! It's taken me awhile getting here today. We're in the midst of a blizzard and I've been trying to dig out the driveway and sidewalks off and on today. I'm weak and cold...brrr..I hope tomorrow is a better day! This die hard mom even took Alyssa to school and only 3 other kids showed up. What was I thinking!? Scales are back at 216, lets hope there's no more surprises and I can move on from those numbers.

Nicole, glad to hear your son is feeling alot better. Seems you have been an overwhelmed mom these past few days, but look that didn't stop you! Congrats on the 5lb loss! That's really good, you must be on cloud nine!

Liza, I'm glad you were able to make sense out of all that. And you're still doing an amazing job with your exercises. Great job! Your new found motivation and determination is refreshing. Keep up the great work!

Louie, my day could be a little easier, but I really don't have too much to complain about. At least I'm stuck in it like a lot of other people I've seen today. How is your weather? Still raining?

Linda, I'm at least one of us Canadians seem to be enjoying the weather, lucky you! Boy, you sure are having quite the time of it with your meds. I hope taking it in the night will help you better adjust. And, maintaining isn't something to sluff off you know...it's so much better than a gain! Good for you!

Diane, well I'm certainly glad you found a resolution around bumping into MIL at a WW meeting. And that's awesome that your hubby is excited and wanting to join too. What an awesome support. How is your day turning out?

Erin, one day...one step at a time. Your committed to a semi-plan and that's great. If you follow through today that'll give you more incentive to continue on the next day. I gotta ask you though....how can you stand brussel sprouts??!! LOL! However, it does sound like a healthly meal...good on ya!

Well, it's 4.15 and about time to start thinking about dinner myself. Hope you all had a great day!

TTFN!

Louie 01-10-2007 08:14 PM

Hi Gals

What a day !!! Got up this morning to snow on the ground.. BLEECH. I actually enjoy snow; however, our whole town seems to shut down when it snows, so getting around is a bit of a nightmare. About 15 minutes before I was to leave the house for my training it started coming down again and seemed to be sticking, so there was no way I was taking the car out.. so I WALKED to my training. It took me about 25 minutes, but I did it !!! Took me the better part of the day to dry out.. but what the heck :D

Tina ~ sounds like we are getting the same weather. Temps are suppose to drop over night here, which may mean icy roads tomorrow... I hope not ! I bet you burned lots of calories today !

Linda ~ no need to apologize for the rant, sounds like you are going through some not so nice stuff. A big  for you.. take care !!

Liza ~ go girl !! You are doing a great job keeping on with your exercise.. could you do a few reps for me ;)

Erin ~ a new hairdo how fun !! I had my hair cut about a month ago as part of a job interview. Let the stylist do whatever she wanted to and I actually love it.. best haircut I have had in a long time.

Jordan ~ nice to see you.. flyby when you can and say hello :)

LA ~ glad that you found another WW meeting to go to. Are they still doing the points and flex plan or did they come out with something new for the new year ?

Hubby just made me a hot chocolate to help warm up my tootsies, so I am going to go relax and enjoy it. Have a great evening and TTYS

Nikel1979 01-10-2007 09:14 PM

I’m soooo tired. Classes started back today. I don’t know what genius in administration decided it’s physically possible to get from any one point on campus to any other point in 15 mins or less. That person was clearly either a very talented runner or smoking something. ;) I suppose that’s what those buses running every 5 mins are for, but I’d really prefer to walk and get the exercise. *sigh* On the plus side, I really think I’llenjoy my MWF classes (philosophy – contemporary moral issues, sociology – class structure, women’s studies – women in society).

Linda – That sucks that the meds are affecting you so much. I hope you can get it all straightened out asap and get back to feeling normal again.

Diane - Glad you figured out something with WW and that your dh is on board too. That built-in all the time support definitely makes a difference. I know if my husband wasn’t in board and was keeping junk in the house, there’s no way I’d have the will power to stick with it.

Erin – Sort of planned works for me too. We pick enough main parts of the meal for the week, then each morning, we pick whatever sounds good, then when I’m cooking, I add whatever veggies call to me. I think I can safely say brussel sprouts will never call to me though. So what kind of haircut did you get? I love new haircuts or colors.

Liza – You’re kicking butt on the exercising. I have to admit that until I get adjusted to my schedule, I’m counting my 45 mins of sprinting across campus daily as my exercise.

Tina – Yuck, snow. Reminds me while I’m glad to be a southern girl. Way to go on still taking your daughter to school. Not having to drag myself out in the weather is one of the perks of homeschooling I’m looking forward too.

Louie – Yuck, you have snow too. It’s making Canada seem less attractive to me. Woo-hoo on walking to your training though. You go girl!

I think I'm gonna go have a banana, hop in the shower, and head to bed. Tomorrow is an even earlier day for me.

AndrewsMum 01-11-2007 06:59 AM

oh dear i was a bit naughty last night and ate some cookies :o :(

AndrewsMum 01-11-2007 07:01 AM

when i say "some" i mean the whole packet :o:o:o:o:o:o:(

Leygh 01-11-2007 10:39 AM

for every serving of a cookie you ate you should go run/walk one mile. then you'll feel better about it afterwards.lol

jelynn 01-11-2007 11:39 AM

I'm here...wanted to check in before anymore time had passed. My older kids have gone back to school, but my 3 y.o. has been sick. Most computer time has had him on my lap so no posting.
I've been having a hard time getting mentally back in the game. I did have a good workout on Tuesday, but then yesterday I ate a ton.
I've changed my ticker weight to reflect my true weight. Decided they should be one and the same, lol. I think this week has just been an adjustment after 2 weeks of having everyone home. I've been more tired having to get up early and I feel like I've been on superspeed as far as running kids to their activities and trying to get things done at home. I do know what I need to do though. Just need to find some oomph.
Anyway- I'll post more...I know that helps too.

RRVMMM 01-11-2007 01:08 PM

Just a fly by for me atain today. Yesterday scales were down to 219, I stayed on track yesterday and the stupid scales are back up to 220. I will never figure this out. UGH

AndrewsMum 01-11-2007 06:45 PM

just a quickie, 10mins tread and 400 reps
catch you gals tomorow XXX

meowee 01-11-2007 07:47 PM

Hi gang . . .

Guess the estradiol is still in my system even though I didn't use it today . . . I had another two-nap day. This has got to stop . . . I'm getting nothing done and my BGL is going up, too . . . probably from my complete lack of activity . . . if I don't soon get shaking again, I'll be the only person in captivity to have a negative BMR. :D

Anyway, it's great to see it so busy around here . . .

DIANE . . . You couldn't have asked for a better answer to the WW/Mil situation. Hope DH continues to go with you. ;)

ERIN . . . Good going on kicking the sugar habit. It can be a tough one. I was going to say that sugar is not really a problem for me since I gave it up long ago (because of the diabetes), but then I remembered my Cool Whip addiction . . . it's full of HFCS . . . I've got to stop, it.

TINA . . . I can just picture you and Allysa, all bundled up, beating on the door to the school. Hey, your heart is definitely in the right place. Just too bad you are a glutten for punishment. Stay in and stay warm the next time the weather gets so bad. :D

LOUIE . . . Wow, that's quite a walk in the snow . . . especially when you've got a meeting to attend. Just try to keep it out West. We do not want it down East. :dizzy: I know, I know . . . our turn will come. :(

NICOLE . . . I'd bet $$ that the admin type is male, about 6'2" tall and a definite jock-type. Stick to your guns as much as you can. It will get easier. Glad you love your classes.

EMILY . . . Hopefully things will get settled down again soon. Nothing worse that a sick toddler. You are right . . . more posting equals less binging. ;)

JORDON . . Now fess up, girl . . . do you always follow that little cookie rule?;) Oh probably . . . you are young and dedicated. :)

LIZA . . . You are becoming a lean, mean, exercising machine. :woohoo: Bet that package of cookies is long gone . . . just try not to make a habit of it (cookies, I mean). ;) But fear not, we've all done stuff like that. the trick is to put it behind you (no . . . further behind than that. :o )

Hey, did somebody just see, ROBBIN whizzing overhead? Hi girl.

Okay, gang (hope I didn't miss anybody - and where's Robsia hiding) . . . I'm off to watch some TV . . . and hopefully bounce around with Buddy Ball a little bit. Hope everybody has a great moving and shaking kind of evening. See you again soon. :carrot:

Louie 01-11-2007 08:33 PM

Evening Ladies

Well we had a little bit more snow last night, but then everything turned to ice !! I drove to my training today and it wasn't too bad, so hopefully the temperatures don't take too much of a dip overnight.

Liza ~ as you can see from my avatar, I LOVE cookies  I am sure with all of that exercising you have been doing you have worked them off, but I give you credit for being able to come here and confess that you ate them ;)

Linda ~ I'll do what I can to keep the weather out this way, but no promises :D Hope you found some time to spend with your new pal Buddy.

Robbin ~ good to see you, hope all is well in your neck of the woods :)

Emily ~ nice of you to pop in, hope to see you again soon :)

Jordan ~ how is school going ? You may have told us previously, but what are you studying :book2:

Tina ~ how's the weather in AB ?? Hopefully you got a bit of a break from shovelling today !

To anyone I may have missed

Not sure what I feel like doing tonight... guess I will see what kinda trouble I can get in ----> translation.. what can I watch while I lay on the couch and do nothing .. LOL

Hope you all have a wonderful evening and TGIF for tomorrow

LadyLai 01-12-2007 11:09 AM

Happy Friday!

Hello ladies! I didn't get a chance to do personals yesterday. It was -33 when I woke up so I kept Alyssa home and made it a really busy day. I was really impressed with myself yesterday. I did my sculpting Biggest Loser dvd workout and then right after got on the elliptical for 20 minutes. The rest of the day I kept busy with housework and laundry. It felt like I haven't sat down since morning. I thought I would have burned a ton of calories but it only gave up 1/2 lb. this morning. I'm getting there, slowly but surely...scales are at 215. Hey, I guess if you consider the 217.5 I saw this week, then that means 2.5lbs. for the week so far! Woo HOO!

Louie, take it easy in the weather conditions. I saw -33 and below -40 windchill temps and Monday we're suppose to be +4!! Yeah, believe that one when I see it! LOL! Hope your keeping warm!

Nicole, home-schooling huh? You go girl! I just don't think I would have what it takes to try and teach my daughter. She gets so upset with me when I try to correct her. How I word things has to be soft enough not to hurt her feelings. Let alone try to teach something a little more difficult in years to come. I think she takes instruction better from someone other than me.

Liza, I'm impressed! You picked yourself up after having a little slip and kept on going. That's what it's all about isn't it.....Your never really off plan unless you make it that way. Keep it up! That's how you win this battle!

Emily, it's a big time adjustment from holiday mode back into routine. Keep treading and you'll be back in no time! I wish you all the oomph in the world!

Robbin, my scales jumped around too this week. I started out with 215 went up throughout the week and now I'm back down to 215. I don't know what it was or why it happened, as I was on plan in all aspects. I'm just glad I'm back down...lets hope no more spikes are in my future. Hang in there and you'll drop again too!

Linda, oh boy...you're really in a loop! Hang in there and I hope things start straightening out for you soon. I miss your funny upbeat self.

After so much activity yesterday, I feel totally wiped, soar...etc. Whatever other kind of excuse I can throw out there. All this because I don't feel like exercising today. Sheesh...suck it up Tina!

TTFN!

AndrewsMum 01-12-2007 04:48 PM

wow tina that was some workout! :carrot:
louie yeah i had noticed your cookie monster av lol
meowee, me- lean and mean i dont think so!!

well just got the little guy to bed so im to watch some tv from the comfort of my treadmill....the sofa is calling my name tho... think of weigh in day think of weigh in day think of weigh in day.....

Robsia 01-12-2007 06:00 PM

Well, guys I'm still here. A bit miffed cos after last week, my weight nudged up to 152 and has stayed there all week.

I've been really good, doing my DVD and I even got an exercise ball after inspiration from Linda.

All I can do is keep going and it'll come off, right?

I jut feel so gutted for being such a pig over Christmas. If I'd had more control and only put on 5 lbs or less, it would have gone by now!

Nikel1979 01-12-2007 06:59 PM

I am soooo tired. Holy cow. I remember being last tired when last semester started too, and it got better after 2-3 weeks once I got adjusted and into a routine. So now I just have to muster through. My TR classes are rather boring. (Intro to Statistics, Women in Music, & the Emergence of the Modern American Woman)

Liza - Don’t beat yourself up about the cookies. Of course, my approach to food is to not be too restrictive. We have very small portions of snacks everyday. If I tried to cut out chocolate of chips completely, I’d just end up binging down the road. And if it makes you feel better, we’re going out for dinner tomorrow, and I’m going to order whatever sounds good, have a glass of wine AND we’ll probably order dessert. ;)

Emily – I hope your little one is feeling better soon. I can def. relate to dealing with a sick toddler.

Linda – Yuck, I hope the meds are out of your system now. I had to give in on getting to class. Between my 2nd and 3rd classes, I just CAN’T get there quick enough. By the time you factor packing up after class is out and getting out of the building, very heavy pedestrian traffic (I go to a pretty big school – U of TN) and having to cross a couple of heavy car traffic, including one very heavily traveled road, it’s not happening. If I was the only person walking and there were no cars, then no problem. But, at least for now, I’m hopping on the bus.

Louie – The only thing worse than snow is ice. We’d be stuck at home for days with that kinda weather. Course I have been a southern gal for over 17 years now. I hope you enjoyed your evening with the tv and couch.

Tina – Wow busy day! My house needs me to have one of those. ;) Yeah, I’m planning on homeschooling, well actually unschooling, but still at home. I tend to have a few crazy hippie ideas/beliefs. Or a lot of crazy ideas, depending on who you ask. :D

Well I’m off for the evening. I’m going to feed and bathe the kiddies and tuck them in. Then I’m pulling out the Belly Dancing dvd. :belly: I probably won’t be around much, if at all, this weekend. Tomorrow is our anniversary (6 years already!), and Sunday our daughter turns 2.

Cheryl120 01-12-2007 07:52 PM

Hi ladies...Just a quick pop-in for now. Hope to be back tomorrow to do personals. Hubby and I have been under the weather with the flu since Sunday, so no weigh in this week. Don't feel like doing anything but sleep and stay under the covers. Congrats to all of you that have lost this week. Way to go!!!:carrot: :carrot:

Cheryl

meowee 01-12-2007 08:08 PM

Sorry, gang . . .

Tonight I am just going to be whizzing by overhead and  to everybody. You know how it goes some days. Suprisingly enough, I had a whole day of being awake, so I think the nasty estradiol is out of my system. I got caught up with some of the stuff I haven't gotten done earlier in the week, but then ran out of steam before I got a chance to drop in here and now it's early to bed for me.

Anyway, you have a great evening of moving and shaking, ladies, and I will see you tomorrow. :carrot:

Louie 01-12-2007 08:17 PM

Hi Gals

Well that nasty white stuff hasn't paid any more visits.. now it is just the drudge on the side of the roads. Cooler temperatures today, but a nice blue sky, which makes up for the dreary weather we have been having lately.

A slight jump up on the scale for me this morning, but TOM has arrived, so nothing out of the ordinary there !!

Tina ~ your weather sounds dreadful.. BRRRRR. Glad that you stayed in and sounds like you stayed busy and got in a great workout :)

Liza ~ good for you for hitting the treadmill while you watch TV !! What shows are popular in the UK right now ??

Robsia ~ have you given your exercise ball a name ? I think Linda's is named Buddy :)

Nicole ~ Happy Anniversary  Hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Cheryl & Linda ~ great to see you, even if it is just a fly by. Hope you both feel better soon

Hubby is heading out shortly so I must fend for myself for dinner.. hmmmm.. don't even know what is in the fridge (me thinks I need to get some groceries !!). Take care and TTYS

Robsia 01-13-2007 09:11 AM

LOL - no I haven't given my exercise ball a name! But it's great fun!

Well, the scales edged back down to 151 this morning so that means I have lost a pound since last Sunday. Not what I wanted on my second week back but it's better than nothing!

Sorry - I'm nipping out in 2 mins so no time for personals but hi everyone!!!

meowee 01-13-2007 09:29 AM

Good Morning, Gang . . .

Just found the most terrific exercise website/publication thanks to a poster on another forum . . .

WIN - Active At Any Size

It's specifically geared to those of us who have specific obstacles to exercise or are just plain "large". As well as the basic info it contains, there are also some great resources (publications, videos, net links) listed at the end of the document.

Have a great moving and shaking kind of a day, girls. I'm off to spend a little time with Buddy and the Frog. :carrot: See you later.

LadyLai 01-13-2007 12:13 PM

Good morning ladies! I just wanted to poke my head in real quick, I'm so excited. I dropped another 2lbs!! I am only one pound away from ticker! Yay! All that hard work finally paid off!

Have a great day striving for your ultimate goals!
TTFN!

GainingWeightInLa 01-13-2007 12:21 PM

HI, everyone! Sorry it's been days since I posted. It's been very very busy 'round here. BUT wonder of wonders, I've stayed on track. I'm so glad we went to WW meeting Tuesday. Otherwise, I probably would've "fallen off the wagon" (as hubby puts it) by now. I'm down substantially (atleast 5 lbs) this week. But it's first week, so I expected that. It's exciting nontheless. I dread the slow down. I know it's coming quickly. :( I'll need everyone of you to help me not get discouraged AGAIN! As long as I go to meetings, I do pretty well. And hubby really seems to be on board this time. Hopefully it'll be a success.

My lovely monthly friend showed up this morning. That should be good for a pound or two, huh? LOL I'm all crampy and back hurts. Feel like curling up on the couch and doing nothing today.

We live in Louisiana. My son is eight and the last time it snowed (with accumilations), he was two!!! We're halfway expecting some "winter precip" on Sunday or Monday! YIPPEE!! Wish some of you who are tired of it could send a bit our way! It's a rarity for us. Go to the national weather service web site and type in Shreveport, La. in the city, st search bar. You'll see what I mean. If we get any winter precip at all, they close schools down here! LOL Everyone freaks out. My mother in law called me earlier to tell me to go stock up on everything because we were supposed to get some ice Monday. LOL We're such rednecks!

Gotta run and try to get motivated. Good luck everyone for the weekend! And thanks so much for all the kind words of support. You can't know how much it means to me!!!

Leygh 01-13-2007 04:44 PM

I dont always do it, but I always do something to make up for it. I havent been able to get to the gym recently, so I've just been watching what I eat more closely. When I do alot of cardio, I'm more likely to eat because I figured I just ran and burned extra calories.
School has been great, I have been studying like crazy because I have exams in less then two weeks. The only one I know I'll get an A in is Spanish. Thats pretty much the only class that just comes easy. I dropped German last year because the teacher and I really had some differences, but I still know enough to have a conversation.
I wouldve replied sooner but I went to Koln today(pronouced Colonge)with family. I figured if I'm in germany we might as well go do something other than sit at home.

jtammy 01-14-2007 09:29 AM

Hi ladies, I haven’t posted all week, but I’ve been reading everyday.

Leygh, I hope you had a good day in Koln with your family. Are your parents military? Did you say that already, I can’t remember?

Hi Gaining in LA, I don’t think we’ve “met” yet. Congrats on the great first week weigh in. You’re right that it will slow down, but it’s fun to see that big drop anyway. I live in Mississippi, and we get very little “winter precipitation” either. Everyone here is hoping we’ll get it Tuesday, if we get it at all, since many places are already closed for MLK day on Monday. :) I have to laugh about your MIL calling you to stock up. Anytime there is a chance of ice, the bread and milk shelves, (the staff of life I guess for most Mississippians) are empty at the grocery store, by the time I get there.

Tina, congratulations on the loss! All of that exercise and moving around that you did last week really paid off. How do you keep warm at -33 degrees outside!!!! Since losing weight, I am constantly cold, and I live in Mississippi! I don’t know how I could handle living in a colder climate.

Linda, Glad to hear the estradiol is out of your system and you’re playing with buddy and frog again. :D

Robsia, The scales are moving in the right direction now, even if it’s not as quickly as you’d like. Congrats.

Hi Liza, I guess I’ve started posting since you used to post. Aren’t cookies evil. I can’t eat just one or even just two, so it’s better for me to not have any.

Louie, It sounds like you are getting lots of cold weather too. I hate driving on ice. We lived out west in the mountains for a few years, and I never got used to it. I was always white knuckled and nervous when it was icy on the roads.

Cheryl, Here’s to a quick recovery for you and DH. Take care of yourselves.

Nicole, Happy anniversary. Hope you had a chance to recuperate some this weekend. Sounds like you have some interesting classes lined up this session.

Emily, I hope you can get back on track soon. Changes in my routine really knock me off course.

Erin, The first few days of no sugar were hard for me, but once I got it out of my system, it wasn’t a constant battle. Now I’m one of those weird people who thinks things are too sweet now.

I've been on plan all week and the scales have dropped two pounds recently. :carrot: My sweet spot, calorie wise, right now is around 1600 per day. I lose more consistenly at that level than I do at the 1700/1800 range I prefer to eat at. I enter my foods into fitday at the end of the day, instead of planning it from the beginning of the day. That means that I don't always know how many calories I ate until I'm finished eating. Backwards, of course.

I hope everyone has a great, on plan week.

Hey girls sorry I haven't checked in for a while but we are on our 3rd day of an ice storm and I have kept the computer turned off in case the electricity goes out. The storm started Friday morning with freezing rain and sleet and continued into last night. We are having a bit of a break right now but it is supposed to move back in here in a couple of hours and be worse than it has been.

I ate lots of sodium filled foods yesterday and the scales are back up to 221 this morning but I am also swollen like an overfilled balloon. I did fit in a work out yesterday and my muscles are sore so I am hoping the gain is all water and maybe my muscles are holding some fluid also.

I guess I had better get this computer turned back off before the storm starts again. I sure hope our electricity doesn't go out.

Morning, Ladies

Hope everyone is having an enjoyable weekend. I didn't get up to too much on Saturday.. did a bit of studying, grocery shopping and watched a couple of movies. Today probably won't be much different as I have a report to complete :book2:

Tina and Robsia congrats on your loss .. YAHOO !!

Linda, glad to hear that you are spending time with buddy and the frog, again :)

In LA, 5 lbs in your first week that is good news. Yes, it will slow down but that is a great start :D

Leygh, good for you for learning different languages. I took French throughout school...although I find if you don't lose it you tend to forget most of it...or at least I have !

Tammy, 2 lbs congrats !! You will be in onederland before you know it :)

Robbin, brrr an ice storm that sounds nasty. The weather here is still chilly but I can't complain as this is very rare for us.

Well I best get a move on. Have a good one and keep on keeping on

Leygh 01-14-2007 02:40 PM

Jtammy- yeah my dad is in the military, this is my second time living in germany, i lived here back in elementary school. i've never lived anymore for more then 2 years. one time it was 3 years, but i'm always moving. im on my second year now and my dad is trying to stay here so i can stay at 1 high school the whole time

louie-german isnt really hard, but it is harder then spanish. i think because i here spanish so often back in the states its easier to pick up and remember. alot of my friends are german so i still remember things.

AndrewsMum 01-15-2007 03:41 AM

good morning gals, well i was right nothing lost this week :(

RRVMMM 01-15-2007 10:35 AM

Hey Liza don't let the scales get you down. After being stuck indoors all weekend due to the Ice Storm I went up 4 pounds YUCK I guess I am gonna have to move my Ticker up soon to reality cause I does not look like I am gong to get back to it any time soon. Today I am PMSing sooooo bad I could eat the paint off the walls. I want Nacho's.

AndrewsMum 01-15-2007 11:39 AM

thanks robbin, i know i shouldnt but its hard not to, iv eaten tiny amounts of boring healthy food ok i had 1 slip but iv exercised most days i should have lost something, just a pound would have kept me on track but when the scales says the same number after a week of hard work i cant help thinking whats the point:(
oh well will have to make sure there are no slips this week and if i dont lose somethin next week i will be having some serious words with that scale demon:devil:

GainingWeightInLa 01-15-2007 11:54 AM

Liza, I'm sorry for your non-loss. It makes me sad not just for you, but because I know I have those days coming and I so don't look forward to them! :( It's so discouraging, but keep on track.....do something really outrageous to jumpstart your body back into gear. Have a soup-only day or something like that. It sounds yuck, but when you get to the other side, won't it be sooo worth it??

Well, looks like Louisiana is going to come away from the "Big Ice Storm of '07" with a cold rain...again! They get our hopes all up for some winter precip and we always get a cold and nasty rain. I'm beginning to wonder if my children will ever see snow without having to travel many miles to see it...snow in our very own yard that they can go out and play in. Good thing is we're not stuck indoors with no power....'cause I'd be eatin' my way to warmer temperatures. And that'd be a very bad thing.
Tammy , it's nice to meet you...another snowless one! :-D Amazing that you've lost 134 lbs!! You should post before and afters for us all to see.....or maybe you already have and I just haven't seen them because I just re-joined?? LOL How long's it taken you to lose it and WHAT have kept you so motivated? And how have you done it?? Just counting calories? I hope you've done nice things along the way for yourself in honor of your amazing achievements! You certainly more than deserve it!

Well, ladies.....I must go brave the ice storm we didn't get. My son wants to go visit Dad at work! I have to tell one funny thing....yesterday after church (when we were SUPPOSED to be having an ice storm) it was 72 degrees outside and we came home and all dressed in jeans and tee shirts and went mud riding on the four wheelers. My husband and I were riding along, both soaked from the rain and mud, laughing about going riding in our 70 degree ice storm. I guess it's not as funny written down as it was yesterday when we were discussing it! LOL :-D

Have a great week ladies! I wish you all lots of losses!!! :)

Happy Monday!

Good girls! Another monday of fresh beginnings after some weekend mishaps. I was down to 213 on saturday, but hubbys christmas dinner from work was lastnight. To make matters worse, it wasn't till 8 PM! (I always have dinner at 5 and my cutoff is 7 if I want a little snack afterwards) And of course we didn't get anything to eat till 8.30. So by that time I was absolutely starving. I devoured 3 palm sized servings of prime rib, ate about 2lbs. of veggies and to top it off...I had a slice of cake. I was so full it hurt! And whoever said not to eat before bedtime sure got all their apples in line. I'm exhausted today. I had insomnia, thirst, I barely slept. So to put the cherry on top of all of that..the scales were at 215.5. You might think may aswell eat the cherry huh?! LOL! But I didn't...I did another totally great workout with my sculpting dvd and 20 mins elliptical. I feel so much better and believe I can obliterate those pounds soon enough!

Liza, don't get discouraged. I know those words are easier said than accomplished. Remember, if you keep doing the right things, the weight WILL come off. Would you mind sharing your game plan...maybe one of us can make some suggestions. Like what is your caloric intake, do you track them?

Robsia, you betcha! Just keep doing what you know works. Your body will give in sooner or later. Don't dwell on the past you cannot change, think about what actions you can do to change your future!

Nicole, dare I ask what un-schooling is? LOL! Hope you're keeping up well with your now hectic schedule. How was the belly-dancing workout. I think that would be fun!

Cheryl, sorry to hear you and hubby are under the weather. Nothing like throwing a wrench in your spokes. Hope you both are feeling much better by now.

Linda, nice to know the meds are outta your system and you're able to get back to your life as you knew it. I skimmed the website but I'll have to take some time to really look at it. Seems really interesting and motivating.

Louie, the weather is on my side again. It's +4 today with lots of sunshine! Phew! Blizzards are not fun at all! How about your weather?

Diane, congrats on staying on program and that amazing loss! I think having hubby on board is a big support. I'm so happy for you. Keep up that amazing will power!

Leygh, I'd like to think I'm making up for my endulgences today...hehehe! I would imagine you are in an English speaking school. My..My..by the time you're ready to move out on your own and live wherever...you'll have a few languages under your belt.

Tammy, I agree..since losing weight it's harder to keep warm. But as my hubby puts it...I'm always cold. -33 isn't that bad because you just stay inside! LOL! Thank God it didn't last that long. Congrats to you for your losses! Wow, 212 that's incrediable!

Robbin, wow...that storm you had sounded bad. Glad you are able to immerge today. It's monday, put the weekend behind you and begin working on what you can make out of this week. I hope you're able to find a healthier substitute for your nacho craving.

I gotta get out of my workout clothes back into some civalizational ones to go pick up my daughter at school. Hope you're having an amazing day!

TTFN!

Afternoon Ladies, Just a quick pop-in for now. Feeling much better, but not weighing till next week since I haven't been eating like I should since being sick.
Congrats to all you ladies that had a loss. That's SUPER!!!! For those of you having to deal with the freezing rain/miserable weather, here's hoping for warmer weather this week. We have been hit with the cold Canadian air since last Monday, so we are dealing with -30 to -40 below with the wind chill. It's suppose to warm up to 25 on Wednesday. Yippie!!! Have a good day.:carrot:
