Here I am, trying not to pull my hair out. Selah is not acting like my regular happy 3 years old today. She's in time out.

I'm starting to get the daily heartburn... ugh.... 12 weeks left, I can do this.

We leave for the Bahamas on Tuesday morning and I'm feeling VERY unprepared. I need to do laundry agail and get food so I'm not leaving the babysitter stranded. I did something a little naughty today. I went to a tanning bed. I was only in for 8 minutes. I jsut don't want to be completely pasty when we go. I read all of the research and the only concern is really getting overheated, so I'll go for 8 minutes a day until monday and it will add up to the same as going twice for 20 minutes. That is what I usually do to start the summer off.

Ok, the kids are out of control. Jacob is screaming no at Selah. I guess I should go feed thema nd get them ready for bed early. They didn't nap today, jsut played in their room and I gave up after 2 hours of it.

I had mexicna for lunch and was really not good at ALL. Cheese dip and a chimichanga! UGh... I feel full still. I may not be able to eat again today, which I deserve.

Travis is working at a church tonight. They are paying him to fun the sound and visuals for a concert or something. Extra spending $$ for the bahamas! Hopefully I can get laundry done so we can pack. DId I tellyou guys I have a preggo bikini I know it's crazy, but we are on a private beach. If no one else is around, I'm keeping it on hand to get a good tan. We'll see if I use it or not.

BOb- You rest up all weekend!! I haven't heard of any of those movies. I'm so out of it.

Monet- This week has jsut flown by without seeing you Can we fix that the first week of May? After I get back I'll have month close craziness.

Gator- Where are you? Can I come see you in Orlando?

Tech- I always use dry beans when I can. The nutritional value IS much better! Canned beans have been double processed and have lost some of their nutritional value. Glad it turned out well. I've some a great recipie for chick pea soup that you may like. I soak all of my beans overnight (doesn't take out as much of the content as the quick soak) and then I crock pot them the next afternoon 4-5 hours. It's so great!

Munch- Welcome back!! Please stay, we love you!! You've had so much to deal wiht. DOn't feel bad about where you've been with the eating. Just do what you can today.

Cindy- I totally understand and I would be upset, too. I pray tht you can be rested and rejuvenated this weekend.

Just getting on quickly before the storms hit! It was pretty bad here last night. Trees hit by lightning and homes! I swear it looked like a strob light outside! We are under a tornado watch till 11pm.

I've been doing OK with my eating, not great, but I'm still hanging close to ticker weight, so maybe I am at least learning that I can maintain well. I am hoping that the rain these couple of nights will bring down the pollen to a level that is tolerable to walk in. I am going to be allergy tested on Monday, and Sean wants to see me suffer! I love that kid! I figure, I'm already there once a week with him, I might as well get "shot"too!

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Good evening!! Wow- what a warm welcome back. I feel all warm and fuzzy inside

I am sooo tired tonite. I have to work early tomorrow teaching a yoga class and then a weight training class for my boss who is away. Those classes are fairly easy to teach (not like an aerobics class!!) but I still get nervous b/c I'm not their normal instructor. I guess I am thankful I still get nervous after 3 years of doing it- if I didn't I'm sure it would mean I didn't care as much about how I do!!!

Ok- I did jump around a bit and read some posts- so forgive me if I comment on stuff you all wrote like weeks ago TEEHEE!

BOB- I really missed you too!!! I wish I knew where I've been!!! I have no earthly idea. I read a post from you that said you loved Taylor on Am. Idol! Gotta say he's been my fave since day one. Something about his hair!! Thanks for the welcome back- you make me smile!!! Now get some sleep!!!

MONET- Thank you for the welcome back- I really hope your short trip helps you relax a bit and get your mind off things. You guys are stuck with me- I may disappear into the wild blue yonder for a bit, but I'll always come back. !!

TALITHA- Thanks for the welcome back and the encouragement! I love you guys too! I can't believe how close the time is for you to have this baby! It seems like it has gone so fast (probably not for you LOL!) How blessed this baby is that you are eating right and taking such good care of yourself!! (Hey- a litlle UV light is good for you- just don't overdo it- I know you won't!!)

TECH- Hey neighbor!!! Didja miss me??? How are you? We just got done with a couple 70+ degree days- tomorrow and Sun are supposed to be colder and rainy. ICK. How's the weather up there? Kind of a disappointing winter we had here. A couple snowfalls, but no REAL BIG storms like we like!!!! Oh well- makes me excited for summer to come!!! The soup you made sounds great! Beans beans the magical fruit, the more ya eat, the more you toot!!! Enjoy!

Well, thats it for tonite- my oldest is up and out of bed- can't sleep b/c of staying up too late all week from Easter break!!! Gotta try to settle her back down. Hopefully, I will get some sleep tonite also. I've been staying up way too late as well. BOB if you're up late, try posting- I just may be on!

Goodnite!!

HUGS, MUNCH

Hello Sugarbusters....

Took Mom into the Dr today to have her stitches removed. Her hand looks good. It was very tender while they were removing the thread. It had started to scab around them so when he cut them and then pulled on them she was ready ready to kick him!! He wasn't the easiest at it either. Finally he told the nurse to soak her hand for a few minutes, then the nurse took the rest of them out. It is looking better and better. She still has a ways to go, but it will be okay when all is said and done. She is very lucky that she didn't cut the whole thing off!!

Exercise and eating has been very good for me. The only thing is that I have worked so hard in the yard, that I am very sore in places that haven't been getting worked out. I thought with all that I have been doing is was a bit awkward. But these muscles must not be getting any workout at all because I could hardly get off the sofa once I laid down!! I did have a couple of rum and diet cokes with dh the other night too. Tsk, Tsk!!

Picked out my carpet today. They will be here on Tuesday to install it. I am so excited. When we moved in here, the previous owner had taken out a wall to make the master bedroom on BIG room. But they hadn't recarpeted, so there was two different carpets in each half. Dh and I couldn't come to an agreement on what kind of floors we wanted. I wanted hard wood flooring, and he wanted carpet........after ten year, he won!! The bedroom will be carpeted, but I will put the flooring down in the hallway, dining area and the kitchen. So we both are getting what we wanted, just in different rooms!! This fall we hope to add on to the living room. We are adding 20' X 8'. This will widen it out nicely. So then that will mean more new carpet. But we will finally have the home I have wanted since we moved in here.

Well gals, I am going to hit the hay.......it has been a long week for me. I sure am tired lately. See you all Monday if I don't get back here this weekend. Chow!

I am trying some new things this weekend! I put my water for the day in a container with a freezer stick in it to keep it cold and set it on my kitchen counter where I will see it. I've already drank about half of it! I also am starting up my journal again. I did well with it at one time, so I'm going to try it again. I have my check up on May 19 and I would love to take off a few more pounds before then.

Bob- Where do you get all those smilies???

Talitha- Have fun on your trip!!

Teensy- Yay for new floors!

Munch- Glad to see you back!!

Tech-Your soup sounds good! I've never tried cooking dried beans either!

Everyone else-Have a great weekend!

The Stranger (excellent reading for anyone)

A few months before I was born, my Dad met a stranger who was new to our small Kentucky town. From the beginning, Dad was fascinated with this enchanting newcomer and soon invited him to live with our family. The stranger was quickly accepted and was around to welcome me into the world a few months later.

As I grew up, I never questioned his place in my family. In my young mind, he had a special niche. My parents were complementary instructors. Mom taught me the word of God, and Dad taught me to obey it. But the stranger He was our storyteller. He would keep us spellbound for hours on end with adventures, mysteries and comedies. If I wanted to know anything about politics, history or science, he always knew the answers about the past, understood the present and even seemed able to predict the future! He took my family to the first major league ball game. He made me laugh, and he made me cry.

The stranger never stopped talking, but Dad didn't seem to mind. Sometimes, Mom would get up quietly while the rest of us were shushing each other to listen to what he had to say, and she would go to her room and read her books (I wonder now if she ever prayed for the stranger to leave.)

Dad ruled our household with certain moral convictions, but the stranger never felt obligated to honor them. Profanity, for example, was not allowed in our home...not from us, our friends or any visitors. Our longtime visitor, however, got away with four-letter words that burned my ears and made my dad squirm and my mother blush. My Dad was a teetotaler who didn't permit alcohol in the home, not even for cooking. But the stranger encouraged us to try it on a regular basis.

He made cigarettes look cool, cigars manly and pipes distinguished. He talked freely (much too freely)! about sex. His comments were sometimes blatant, sometimes suggestive, and generally embarrassing. I now know that my early concepts about relationships were influenced strongly by the stranger. Time after time, he opposed the values of my parents, yet he was seldom rebuked... and NEVER asked to leave.

More than fifty years have passed since the stranger moved in with our family. He has blended right in and is not nearly as fascinating as he was at first. Still, if you were to walk into my parent's den today, you would still find him sitting over in his corner, waiting for someone to listen to him talk and watch him draw his pictures. His name?.... We just call him, "TV."

**Note: This should be required reading for every household in America!**

He has a younger sister now. We call her, "computer."

OMG, I'm FINALLY getting excited. We flyout at 9:30 on Tuesday. I've been really just ignoring the trip, knowing that it was coming but too busy to get ready.

SO today I went and bought new beach towels (we've had the same 2 since we got married. 5 years!) I got new flip flos and a beach bag all from Old Navy. I bought a new bathingsuit earlier this week, and new swimming trunks for Trav, since he's ahd the same ones since we were 18!!!

I went to a tanning bed again today. I deffinitely have a bit more color. I think I'll go one last time on Monday so that I'm good.

Tonight I have to go buy food for the babysitter to feed the kids. We bought a new DVD/VCR combo so that they aren't stuck without watching something. We're usually an almost no TV family, and our has been broken for 2 months. But that will suck for catherine after the kids are in bed, since we obviously don't have cable, either.

This is our 5th anniversary, and it will be the first time we've gone anywhere but camping. We've always gone camping to the same spot for our aniversary, except for last year. We couldn't because of my back injury. USUALLY we have to scrape $$ together to just pay for the campsite and food. This is so different! ANd MAN WILL I ENJOY IT!!

We've never even given each other gifts before. Anyone know of anything that's typical down there that we could get? A good memory gift? Or should I think of something to buy for him and take it, but then he may feel bad because he won't get anything for me. We're just not used to having any money for gifts. I'd love to get tattoos, but we would do that here, and not while I'm preggo...

O k done babbling. Be back later

Hi everyone, We just got back from Gainesville where we spent a couple of days. My DH got in from Texas on Thursday, and we took off for Gainesville for a weekend of sports.

Talitha--Of course you can come visit me!! When are you coming through?

Monet--sorry you are having such a tough time. Hope things start looking up for you. What kind of medicine are you trying out?

BOB--Speaking of football being a religion, we went up to see the Orange and Blue game among other things (one being the SEC tennis tourney and we saw the mighty gator women vanquish the Vol gals.) Re the football "game" well, the Gators won. LOL

Its late so I have to quit.

MUNCH---IT IS SO GREAT to "see" you back.

GATOR,

KATE watched the game on the Sports Network, but I was doing laundry. My cousin went to the
ORANGE AND WHITE GAME and he said THE VOLS looked really good. I've got my fingers crossed that they have worked out all the snags!
Have a GREAT SUNDAY!! We're going to SHELL'S for my Bday dinner..I haven't had good SEAFOOD in a while, so I'm looking forward to it!

Good early Sunday morning all,

Got up to go to the bathroom and discovered husband had left the sink running all night! The orange cat likes to drink from the sink and has us trained. From now on he will have to get his drink supervised and the water immediately shut off!

I worked Friday, Yesterday and am going in 11 to 5 today. Yesterday was the last day of a girl in our department who has been somewhat of a challenge (KayeC says ever so politely ). Funny how those types of things tend to sort themselves out.

Bob--before I leave for work I'm going to put a roast in the crockpot with spices and broth to make french dip sandwiches.
Do you make these? I guarantee they make teenage boys eyes light up.
We went to see The Sentinel last night with Michael Douglas who though still cute is looking older. You can really see his dad Kirk in him now. Movie review: Rent it...

Hi all. Yucky rainy day here. Only like 50 degrees too. Blah. The girls and I are laying on the couch like slugs watching Trading Spaces and While You Were Out. Hubby went to church SUPER early to play on the music team so I decided to stay home. Our church is sooo far (takes 40 min to drive) and we love it, but it it getting sooo expensive with gas. (especially if we take separate cars when he plays music, like we usually do) We need to find something closer, although since we stay with my mom every other weekend, we have been going to my dads church with him. It is wonderful- makes me wish we could find something like it closer to me.

Yesterdays eating was not great- Saturdays are always tough for me- but I did well the rest of the week and plan to do well- so we'll see. I have been weighing in on Wed- so I'll stick to that schedule and let you all know!! Tonites dinner will be leftover roast beef from the other night and probably a salad and sweet taters! I need to do some shopping- I am out of veggies and fruits. I have been having cravings for butternut squash!

Well, I should get busy doing something constructive- (but I probably won't). I do at least need to get these kids bathed before they go back to school tomorrow!!! I'll check back in later!!!
