Happy Birthday to you Bob! Hope you have a great one! Good morning everyone. My lady is cleaning my house a bit and Jackson and I are at the computer. Hope she finishes fast cause I'm so hungry. But don't want to get in the way so I'll wait. Have to figure out what for dinner too. I'm kind of thinking of burritos on ww shells. Its cooler today and we might get a little rain. Hopefully so.... Sorry this is short.... Have a happy day....
Buddy and I headed up the hill early this morning, and got in our 3.2 miles. Sure is beautiful out there. I am so excited to see this sunshine!! I got a lot done in the yard yesterday. I started as soon as I got back from Mom's, and worked until 4:30 yesterday afternoon, stopping only long enough to grab a quick bite to eat for lunch. I am heading back out there as soon as I am done here. I will finish the last three flower beds, and mow the grass after I play pooper scooper first!! Lucky me. It looks really nice where I have finished. Dh came home from work and said "WOW". Supposed to be rainy for the weekend though.....
Mom goes in to get her stitches removed tomorrow. I am then going to drag her along to look at somemore carpet and flooring. I want to get it ordered, because it will take about 4 weeks to get it in. Vicky will be here on the 27th of May, and I want to have the computer moved into our bedroom by then. That way the small bedroom will just be a bedroom and not my office too!! She is thinking of staying for a week instead of just 4 days. I am doing a fun walk on the 2nd of June called "Loonsday" and it would be nice for her to go too. This is done out at Loon Lake and is only a five mile walk. She was looking for a FUND one to do while she was here, since she will miss the one she usually does in Denver. This is going to be so cool, Ted has no idea that she is coming. I am going to tell him that I am going to work out at Curves on the Saturday that she flies in. I will head to the airport instead and pick her up. SURPRISE!!
Well, that's it for now. I am heading out to fix some breakfast. Have a great day all.........
I've had a wonderful day. Got to work around 6 and really dug in. I got so much work done today! One of my Co-workers made me a BETTER THAN SEX CAKE and I did have a piece. Happy Birthday BoB!!!!!! Hope its been a great day !
I am finally back to the living . I am off work until Monday. I was so beat yesterday I could not sit still at work and could not concentrate. I came home and could barely keep my eyes open so went and layed down for 1 hour which is very very out of normal for me. But I feel so much better today after getting a good nights sleep and a nap today to boot.
Please say some prayers that thats all there is for a while. We think ot is over and they start it again. They fired 2 people from out area last week...so... well theres 2 less to do the work. At times we think they want us out in order to out source . Since I have been there claims have gone from american people processing to automated processing and India vendors doing the ones that drop out to paper. Then we ( americans) were doing the reprocessing .. well guess whos starting to do that now? Yup India vendors. Anyways so the rest of us feel like maybe they want us overworked and making mistakes then our quality falls and they can get rid of us! Sorry Im a little erked about it all. At times I think as Americans we need to stop at some point doing business with business's who out source their workers because you know what... eventually there arent going to many jobs to be had if this keeps up.
Wow, Im so sorry. I think I need to go out and mow the yard. I didnt realize how much this was effecting me.
Eating is not the best but not the worst. Its nice out for the most part and I can finally get some exercise outside. Heading for an hour walk here shortly with my dd. Hope everyone is doing well. Maybe tonight or tommorrow I can get some replies done!
I am tired and crabby. I have had a difficult time today dealing with my life and the future. I am frustrated, and angry, and whatever other emotions you can think of thrown in there. I just got a fairly good, all time low reading for bg, so I am trying to be upbeat. I am not doing so hot, so I will get off here and come back later.
CINDY: Hey, vent all you want. I try and NOT do business with folks who out source their customer service to India. I find it terribly annoying to try and talk to someone who is difficult to understand, and who doesn't give a flip about me, my problem or the company they are supposedly working for. It may save money, but it seems they are saving money in the wrong way.
Hi guys- remember me???? I've missed you sooo (BIG whine...). I'm sorry I've been MIA so long. I just got pre-occupied with life and my mom. I kinda hibernated for a while. Needless to say my eating got a bit out of hand during that time, but I am back on track and down to a reasonable weight. My goal now is really to take care of my health. I definitely want to get down to my goal weight, but am trying to focus on right eating and eliminating all damaging garbage that I have been known to ingest in large portions!!! . weight loss will be the by-product of my lifestyle. With my mom being so affected by her recent strokes (we think she had another very small one about a month back), it makes you rethink life and health. But I admit, I also react to the stress of the whole thing by wanting to eat anything thats not nailed down!! Grrrr!!!
With all that said, I am so glad to be back and see that you are all still here. I am sorry I have not had time to read too many posts yet (my computer's been down for days..but thats another story!!!). But I did want to send a big hug to Monet. I'm sorry you had to go thru all that. You can be tired and crabby all you want. Its very scary and overwhelming to face a health crisis like that. It really shakes you up. Give yourself plenty of time to adjust- you are strong-
I will try and post as often as I can, and get to replies too!!! I am so glad to be back among such great caring people!!!
TWO NIGHTS IN A ROW!! I'm going in at 6 a.m. again and will come on home when the 2:30 p.m. bell rings!
I sure hope I can get some sleep this weekend! I'm too OLD to go without!
CINDY...I'm so sorry you're going through this. I've been through it at the hospital and it "AIN'T" fun!
MUNCH~!!! WHERE THE **** HAVE YOU BEEN GIRL???? I've missed our banterings! WELCOME HOME!! NOW STAY PUT!!
MONET....Are you better today?
I'm off to get ready...I'll talk to y'all this afternoon!
Good morning! I slept fairly well, inspite of the cat that walked across me at about 3. She is sitting at the door right now, wanting to come in, but I am ignoring her. She tends to come in and out too often in my book.
Breakfast was one organic sausage patty, two organic eggs over easy and a piece of whole wheat toast. Lunch will be salad, and I have no idea what we will have for dinner. We are leaving late this afternoon to visit my sister in law up in South Carolina. We will be back Sunday afternoon. Ya'all behave while I am gone, hear?!
I decided to try the medication the doctor wants me to take. I am NOT happy about it, but will take half the dosage and see what it does. If it seems ok, and does not make me sick while giving significant improvement, then I will take it for a while. I am wondering though, if blood sugar is another cholesterol thing. They really don't know, but the drug companies are pushing for it.
MUNCH: Well, well! What a PLEASANT surprise! I was afraid you were gone forever. I am so glad to see you back! I am sorry you have been having to deal with your mom's health issues. Stay put now. We have missed you heaps and bunches! You don't need to write out long posts..just a couple lines to let us know how you are will be fine when you are busy!
BOB: I am a bit better, but not a whole lot. I think the most prominent emotion right now is frustration.
TALITHA: When do you leave for the Bahamas?
I need to take my silly son to work...be back later!
Well, in my constant obsession with perfecting my black bean soup, I decided to buy the dry beans and see what I can come up with. I'm just thinking that canned veggies, etc, are never as wholesome as the real thing. Am I right with the beans (canned versus dried)?
Anyhow...I was wondering, this is my first attempt at these dried beans. I started them yesterday with a quick boil and then left the lid on the pot for an hour (the bag said this was a 'quick soak' method), BUT they were still pretty crunchy. So, I left them in the pot overnight and they're STILL crunchy this morning. So, now I have them at a boil for about a half hour and they're STILL crunchy. What gives? Am I supposed to let them sit in a pot for a week?
Quick message to you Tech,
After your quick soak you will still need to simmer your black beans anywhere from 2-4 hours with ham hock or other meat. In the last hour to hour and a half of the 2-4 hour period throw in your veggies, hot pepper flakes and other spices--garlic, whatever. What I usually do is soak my beans overnight then do the 2-4 hour simmer during the day. Let us know how they turn out. KayeC
TECH: The quick soak is just a soak. You then have to COOK them. I use a pressure cooker and they turn out really good, but just a plain old pot works well. I drain the soak water ( supposedly helps them not make you as gassy) cover them with clean water, and bring to a boil, then simmer until tender.
I so tired that I think y'all would have to kick my arse to get any action out of me at all!!! If I had any REAL SLEEPING PILLS, I think I would take some tonight!! All I have is my LUNESTA which I've been taking all along. I fall asleep and then around 3 a.m. I wake up just as though the ROOSTERS are CROWING on my BED!!
The only plans that we have for the weekend is going out for a late lunch on Sunday. Other than than, I'm not leaving the house! I have laundry of course then I have to and probably ..THANK GAWD I DON'T or
I know there has to be some RACES on from KEENELAND tomorrow and I'll be tuning in on that for sure!
MONET...Have a good trip. Doesn't she live around Greenville? What is the name of your medicine?
KRIS...YES...COOK THEM TOO!!! And don't get frustrated
