The kids have been sick all weekend. I was really hoping that they would be better by this morning to go to the Y, but Jacob still has a fever. SO I won't be able to go to the Y and Selah will skip her swim class.
I ahve to go get blood tests done today that I have been putting off sicne november. I'll jsut have to take the kids to my mom's for a little while. I don't think I can hold Jake while I'm getting blood drawn
Eating was NOT so good yesterday. I was craving chinese. I ate some for lunch, not good choices. I paid for it with a sick stomache the rest of the afternoon.
For dinner I made tacos with homemade spelt tortillas. They weren't bad at all. I made enough to freeze so that I won't have to make then again for awhile. I also made homemade guacamole. It was really good. So dinner was OK.
I'm going to try to make a menu for this week. It really is a good idea. Just a little overwhelming, but I can do it!
Just a fly by. I am cooking dinner for church tonight, and will be up to my elbows in chili in a little while. I also have my neighbor/massage therapist coming over for breakfast...so I am making eggs benedict on ww English muffins...I will try and be conservative with the amount of hollandaise sauce I put on mine...
It is MMM...and so I decided to face the music and get on the metal monster. I am up 5 from before the holidays. This is much better than the 11 I peeked at a few days ago. So, its back to the straight and narrow today. I know I have been fudging a bit around the edges...pun intended!
I need to follow my own challenge. I think planning a menu will be REALLY helpful for me, so you all are free to bug me about whether I have done it or not. OK?
Off to get dressed! (I just hopped out of the shower..so at least I am clean!)
Well I couldn't claim that extra lb loss that showed up briefly on the scale, but that's ok cause I know it's coming down. I AM claiming a 2lb loss for the week though & I think that is super fantastic!
Got to run. Hope all have a super day & Horrah for all the losers today!
My MMM: is a 15 lb loss. Don't get excited. It is all water, but the like the number on the scale much beter today then last Monday and my clothes are quite a bit looser. So next week will be a true wt loss.
My weekend was super busy and eating was 90% OP. Friday night we had pizza out and I had a salad and only 1 piece of a small pizza.
We had a birthday party yesterday and I had a few tortillia chips, but no cake and icecream. The spaghetti she served was not ww, but I kept it to a small portion. My goal is if I can't be legal, and have to eat other foods, then to keep them small portions and not go overboard and not let that be a reason to go haywire and eat everything. As long as I can keep the total calories to my daily 1400-1500 I think I will be ok.
Bf: SB cereal, skim milk
Snack: carrots
Lunch: turkey sandwish on 2 pcs of thin ww bread (1 carb), apple and the remaining carrots if I need them.
Dinner: Grilled chicken salad (homemade)
Monet, I think I can meet all those challenges. I almost always plan a menu. I start with dinner and work backwards. If I have a starchy carb at dinner, then I can either have one at lunch or breakfast so I plan my lunch an then my breakfast. I plan to get to the gym at least 3 times this week. Shooting for 4. I always drink my water, no problem there.
Melf, WTG on those 2 pounds. Keep up the good work
Talitha, I'm so sorry the kids are sick. Sure hope you don't get it.
Got to run, I have a covered desk today. Have a great OP day.
Got my 2 mile walk in. Yay! It is "brisk" here, probably in the 50's. I will go to lift weights in a couple of hours. As for MMM, I am down 2 pounds from last week. At this rate, only 2 or 3 more weeks until I get to my previous low. The holiday eating madness really did a number on me.
This is just a fly-by. I have a ton to do today, so I'm outta here.
You guys are good for me. I lost 6 pounds this week. 169 I'm so excited to be back in the 160's even if it's barely.
Gator...wtg on your loss this week. You have been working really hard. Good job.
Solly...awesome on getting the water weight off. You did a great job with your food choices. Because I was struggling so much before I went back on plan last week I've decided I can't eat any no no foods till I have me under control again. And trust me that was hard last night with peanut butter brownies fresh out of the oven.
Melf...woo hoo on your weight loss this week. Keep up the good work.
Monet...You'll have the extra pounds off before you know it. I was able to end my first knitted piece last night. Talk about scary I was afraid I'd mess up. But nope I have about a 12 by 7 or 8 inch rectangle. Hopefully I'll be able to sew the two sides together and put a draw string in the top and make a little bag out of it. Chili sounds good. Too bad I don't live a little closer so I could drop by. Have a GREAT day.
Talitha..I'm so sorry your little ones are feeling down. Praying they feel better very soon.
My MMM was 123#...same as yesterday. My BF was: 1 egg and some egg whites, 3 slices of turkey bacon and a slice of spelt toast. I will drink a V-8 in a little while to make up for the absence of fruits/veggies with my BF.
Challenges: I have already planned dinners for this week, but haven't planned lunches or snacks. BF is easy.....eggs/toast, legal cereal or oatmeal.
I will get my water in, and I do plan to make it to the gym 3 days this week. I will go tomorrow while Lane is in school, and then take her with me on Friday, and then go Saturday.
I am waiting for the exterminator to get here in a few hours. We have a pack rat on the side of our house, by our propane tank, that we have been unsuccesful catching. I have also heard something in the celing area, near our fireplace. I hope it is not a rodent up there. If it is, it will be tricky to get. We don't have an attic; we live in a territorial type house with a flat roof. We'll see what they have to say.
Here are my "Don't Sweat the Small Stuff" tips:
Every day, I use the fact that I don't know how long I have to live to enhance the quality of my life. I remind myself of what's really important in life, and try to back that up with my actions and the way I prioritize things.
The qualities of children complement our own qualities. In other words, youth, playfulness, lightheartedness, curiosity, and intuition are just what the doctor ordered and usually just what we need.
Spending time with kids brings a sense of balance to our lives. It reminds us that the best things in life aren't "things."
I love that last one...every day spending time with my kids reminds me that the material things in life are so insignificant compared to their unconditional love and affection.
Monet: Glad you are dropping those holiday #'s; if losing were as easy as gaining . Enjoy your BF with your friend, and good luck getting that dinner prepared in time for tonight. Chili should be a breeze for you in your pressure cooker.
Talitha: Sorry the kids are sick, and you can't get your exercise in. That stinks. It's nice to have your mom nearby for those quick trips out without the kids. Is this a routine blood workup for the pregnancy? I just splurged and got Chinese food a few days back, and it didn't satisfy my craving at all; it didn't taste as good as I remember it tasting. How did you make your spelt tortillas? Are they thick/thin?
Melf: Congrats on the 2# loss; that's a great start
Solly: Glad you dropped that water weight; I hope the loss sticks for next week. You did well with your eating, with the choices you had. Good job!
Gator: sorry those holiday pounds caught up with you. If anyone can lose them, you can. How's that cough? Enjoy your weight workout today.
Country: Congrats on the loss . That's fantastic! Keep up the great work.
Hi all. OK- I am with you Monet- I got on the scale this morning and was up 6 WHOPPING pounds from the holiday madness. Why do I gain so easily???? I know I was bad, but geesh- 2 weeks of cheating equals like 8 pounds???? So depressing. I know I lost some this week-I can feel it, and I haven't weighed myself for the last couple weeks. So I am guessing I was probably up more than the 6 pounds the scale is showing. Well- its definitley a motivator to stick to the plan!!!!! Yikes!!! I am NOT gonna change my ticker- I am gonna just keep pluggin' away until its back down there.
I also pulled a muscle in my back this morning. I never have a problem with my back, but this stress is showing up in my neck and shoulder area, and has been tight. Anyhow, I simply stretched and felt a pull- and then pain. Unreal. So I have been friendly with the ibuprofen and couch this morning.
I do need to do some fresh veggie shopping- I am REALLY low and down to canned stuff, which I am not that crazy about. Maybe I will swing by the store after work tonite.
Hope everyone has a great day today- I will try and check in tonite more. Sorry this post seems to be very whiny!!!
Went out of town this weekend and was soooooooo bad. It was definatly Miller Time! I weighed this AM and was up 1 lb. Oooops! So today is D day! I already went to the gym and did 40 mins on elliptical and did 50 squats with 30 lbs and 50 chest flies with 10 lbs x2 and 50 abd crunches on the ball. I will be going to the gym 5x this week. For breakfast I had 2 scrambled eggs with white american cheese 1 little beef sausage link and a piece of toast with allfruit blacberry preserves on it. Oh ya and 2 cups decaf with sugar free hazelnut creamer. For lunch I had a toasted SB wheat roll with ham /white american and olive salad as a spread and a cup of that reduced carb chocolate milk. Dinner will be pork roast with greens and salad and a baked apple for dessert and 1 glass of red wine. I know...not enough fruit and veggies. I'll do better tommorrow. My treat to myself is IF I exercise that day I get 1 glass of red wine. woohoo!
For all you losers...hopefully I'll be with ya next week. Those of ya having a crummy day here's a .
I'm happy to report that today was my first official day and I didn't cheat once! I'm so proud of me! I was starving and I cooked right when I got in tonight though! HAHA!
AIYANA: The first time I ever did this WOE strictly, my biggest downfall was the weekends - we'd go out to our little hang out bar and I'd drink white russian Daqs. Now that we have the baby - we don't go anymore - so it will be nice not to have the temptation!!
MUNCHER: I know what you mean - sometimes I think I gain weight when I watch other people eat! HA! I gain quickly too - but I also can lose pretty quickly if I stick to a plan. That's my problem - sticking to it!! You can do it!
JAILENE: WTG on the 3 pounds - hopefully I can say the same thing next week!!
PANCHO: Nothing like a rodent to spoil your "comfort zone" Last year I saw a mouse - so I set a trap - well, 7 mice later I think we were done! OH MY! I was just floored! A bad thing about us is that we have a parrot and he is so messy, the mice have lots to eat!!
COUNTRY: WOW - 6 pounds! That's fabulous!! I'm so proud of you!
GATOR: WTG for you too! Hope you got all of your errands done today. I just love the cooler weather! It's so refreshing - so much better than the humidity!
SOLLY: 15 pounds?!? Was that a typo? How much water can one person possibly lose! HA! Well, just look at it this way - whether it was water or not - it's 15 pounds GONE!! woohoo!
MELF: WOOHOO for you too!! 2 pounds gone! That's wonderful!
MONET: I love chili! When you prepare food for the church do you do a SB meal or a regular meal?
TALITHA: Sorry the kids are sick - Alexis has been sick a lot too - especially with ear infections. Not fun! Hope all is well soon!
Well, hopefully everyone has another good day tomorrow! I'm off to take care of my mommy duties! It's so fun to finally say that!
100% OP today. I did cheat some yesterday when we went to eat Chinese Buffet after church but served myself just once & didn't look at dessert bar. lol
BF omelet with eggbeaters & WW toast
Lunch 1/2 Schlotzsky's sandwich on SourDough bread w/ small side salad
Snack 2 small satsumas
Supper Auromatic lentils & chicken (I had forgotten how delish it is! Hadn't made it in a long time.)
Monet, I like the challenge this week. I have not done my menu for the week yet but I think it's a great idea. That way we can make sure we have all the ingredients & no guessing as to what am I going to cook today. I know it's been mentioned before that we should plan a menu ahead but never felt the need to do it until now.
Congrats to ALL the losers & to you who did not lose, don't give up or get discouraged, just determine more to stick to plan & exercise!
Dinner went pretty good tonight. I had some of the chili, and some salad. I did have some peach tea which had sugar in it, and a few corn chips. The beans in the chili are making me feel rather bloated. It was either them, or the cheese and sour cream on top! We had plenty of food, and I brought home a good amount of chili. I was frustrated to come home and find that I still had to fix smoothies and lunch for Tom.... He spent the evening watching a DVD with Laura.
