BOB: Start packing those panties girl! It will be here before you know it! I started thinking this morning that I need to start getting the upstairs ready for my company! It is a mess up there - mostly Mardi Gras beads that I will be throwing this year. But, I still need to start so that I'm not rushing at the last minute to get it done!
PANCHO: I know I shouldn't dwell, but after 6 miscarriages it's hard not to. I would have told that woman off at the hospital - those people do not deserve to have children! UGH! It makes me sick! But, I'm trying to be positive and stay on plan....that is what is best for me right now!
Two questions.. one, when you say "homepage" are you talking about the page that opens in Internet Explorer? Or your desktop that shows the icons. Two, what version of Windows are you using (98, ME, XP, etc)
Getting ready to some massive cleaning in the house before we go to my nephew's birthday party at 3:00 and thought I would jump on quick now in case I don't have time to later.
It is actually a little warmer today than it was yesterday, but still a little chilly. Everyone is very happy here today with the Pats' win last night. I guess one more to go and if they win next week then it is Superbowl time. Both my DH and youngest son are big Patriots fans, but for some unknown reason to us, my oldest son, Ryan, is a HUGE Greenbay Packers fan. I guess the Packers play their playoff game tonight . . . I can only imagine the excitment and tension that will develop if it ends up Patriots/Packers in the Superbowl . . . Maybe I should take a quick Football101 class before then
BELLAWYNDMOUNTAIN: Congrats on staying OP all weekend! Now with the book and all your "legal" foods - you'll be right on track as the week begins! Keep your chin held high wherever you are . . . people probably don't judge you like you think they do. I don't look at a person as fat/skinny, short/tall, etc. Frankly, I only look at them as nice or mean I know that this is an old saying - but it really is the inside that counts. Frankly, (my friends all laugh at me when I say this), but I would rather have a bald, less attractive guy with the best sense of humor and personality, then Mr. Gorgeous with his self-absorbed nose in the air. Personality is what I look for. Before you know it, your pounds are going to come slidding off so fast that you will never duck out of a store again - you'll make excuses to go up to the counter so that everyone can see that all of your hard work has paid off! Keep us posted with your progress!
PANCHO: Sounds like you had fun at the zoo. I'm not sure if Lane went with you to the party or stayed with DH, but I always find that it's nice to spend some one-on-one time with your child. Sometimes things at home/school, etc. are so hectic, that the quality of time seems rushed and confusing. I like days where I can give each of my kids some one-on-one, even if it is at another's child's birthday party! Best of luck to your sister. I need to make myself some legal cookies . . . perhaps that will help me with any temptations I have this week!
CHRISD - One bagel won't kill you - look at it this way - you could have had a donut instead!
Okay - gotta go
Will try and check in tonight, but if not - will do so tomorrow!
Have a great day -
SuzyB
Just got in from church. Have gotten comfy for the rest of the afternoon. Brought some chili up for lunch. I'm really pi--ed at the TV powers that be! Why do they schedule good shows opposite one another? There are two good ice programs on at 3p, I want to watch both and can't get VCR to records one while I watch the other!
SUZY: What a thoughtful friend you have! I do miss the snows we had, but not the shoveling although I used to love doing it when I was younger!
FRUIT: Looking forward to seeing you too. Sorry I think 2.7-3 mil is a lot of money, especially when we rank so low academically in LA. Teachers are supposed to be underpaid, apparaently football coaches aren't! Now if that was for a skating program I might reconsider!!!!!!!!!
BELLA: I think a lot of us have self esteem issues. But we are trying to overcome it with SB!
Time for a cuppa and the newspaper. Also have to gather stuff for tomorrow's NH group. Can you believe I haven't put my schedule to calendar yet? That's another project for today.
It's finally sunny here--cold but sunny. Still we don't have it nearly as bad as the folks in the northest and northwest and Canada. Hope y'all can stay warm!
Heart--yes, be patient. You are eating well so the weight WILL come off. Just remember it doesn't always do it on our schedule (more's the pity).
Missy--Somehow I think your state is going to be one huge party through Mardi Gras!
BOB--Belle and I are doing fine! Holed up this weekend--this coming Friday I'll hit my six week post-surgery mark, which means I can go back to doing everything full speed. I'd been pretty active this week, but by the time I got to the weekend, I was wiped out. I slept most of yesterday and have bee pretty lazy so far today. Hey now--watch those Bush jokes!!!!!!
Cheryl--Good for you for registering! The dearest Discovery store is 2 hours away from me and there are no Bally fintess centers near here--so no go for me. I'll pm you with the makeup info.
SEF--Brrrrr! You have my admiration for braving the outdoor pool! Don't be ashamed for being human! We all struggle with the weight and we all have to admit it is one area of our lives where we will never be perfect. We just have to rely on making the best decisions we can as often as we can!
SuzyB--Hope you are staying warm! I saw those fools (er, um fans) at the Pats game last night--brrrrr.
Gator--You are welcome! NC State is playing FSU in a little while. I think they are in Gainesville. I tought that burned library was is Tuscaloosa though! LOL!
Melf--Glad you got back online! Good luck with the Discovery challenge.
Chris---Yes, the menu is fairly extensive with WW tortillas and the mashed caulifolwer to substitute for potatoes (haven't tried those yet).
Bella--Good for you in getting the book! I always reread it when I need a little motivational boost!
Nat--I'm doing well--Friday will be six-weeks and I think I'm just about all healed! THanks for asking.
Did anyone see Michelle Kwan skate last night? WOW! I'm working on a MM tidbit based on her skating--tune in tomorrow!
Hey all, beautiful day here, but still too cold for my taste. Scale was slightly up this am cause I had too much bread yesterday. I go weeks without eating any at all, then over do once in a while, but that is only temperary.
Made it to church this am & will see the doc again tomorrow. Will be heading back to work this wek finally. Still coughing alot with bronchial spasams but guess I will just have to deal with that for a while.
Gone work on my scrapbook that I'm doing for my DS surprise 35th anniversary party that will be next Sat. Need to get busy with it if I'm going to get it done by then.
OH....MY....GAWD!!!!!! ONE GAME AWAY FROM THE SUPER BOWL!!!!! GO COLTS!!!!!
SUSAN...Ya know, that's probably the ONLY thing we disagree on... Glad you got some rest. I'm sure that BELLE needed some too...Don't over do! If I could only push you over to the Democratic side of the world!
Got some chopped minute steaks thawing on the counter...Kate wants gravy and biscuits....I might be tempted....
THE PATCH IS GOING ON IN THE MORNING!!!! WISH ME WELL!!
I'm back again; two times on Sunday....I must be bored? DH is working outside and I turned on a t.v. show for the girls.
I got wrapped up in the Discovery Channel weight loss challenge. I guess they have done it before. I thought this was a first. It was so fun to watch, although in bits & pieces. There were 6 competitors, and they followed their progress through 16 weeks, and set them up with a personal trainer and nutritionist. They had a full blood workup and doctor evaluation at the beginning and end. It was so fun to watch. I WOULD LOVE IF SOMEONE ON HERE WAS ABLE TO BE ON T.V. AND WE COULD ALL ROOT THEM ON....HOW FUN WOULD THAT BE? I was so excited for all of them. They all made 3 resolutions, and they met them all. They lost a lot of pounds & inches, and a ton of body fat. I was proud for all of them.
I have been a baking fool, and I have tested and tasted every one of the recipes we made. I really loved one that we made. I know I found the recipe on here, but I made a few changes, so I will post it later. I think they were called chocolate walnut clusters. I made them with pecans and added flax meal, and they are so good. They really would fix any chocolate craving. I am sure I will be up a # or 2 tomorrow since I've been eating a lot today. I am going to make chicken parmesan for dinner with a big salad.
My goal is to get to the gym 4x this week, but that always depends on the kids.
fruit: Stay positive, sweetie!!! I'll keep you in my prayers.
Suzy: It was just me & Britt at the party, and it was very nice. DH stayed home with Lane, and they went to Target and to DH's office to pick up some paperwork, so they too had a day just to themselves. After the party, Britt and I spent about an hour at the zoo, and had so much fun together. I love to have that one-on-one time too. I have it with Lane a lot more since Britt goes to school, but it is rare for me & Britt to spend time alone together, unless we go get our hair cut or something. She was my baking buddy today and last night.
Hi to everyone else; enjoy the rest of your evening!!
Fillise--If the wolfpack is not playing in Raleigh, then they are playing in Tallahassee, where the evil Noles live. Hope y'all give them a lesson in BB.
Here's a good recipe for anyone that loves green beans. I use the frozen "Petit Beans" that you can buy in a big bag at Costco. They are the slim French beans, not sliced but whole. Like the fancy ones you get at expensive restaurants.
Cut up into 1" pieces 3-4 slices of bacon and put into skillet. Turn on heat and start cooking the bacon on medium. Meanwhile, slice one large, preferably sweet, onion lengthwise into slices and add to the bacon in the skillet. Cook until the bacon is mostly done and the onion is softened. Measure out about 4-5 cups of the beans and mix in to the onion-bacon mixture. Add salt to taste and 2T agave. Mix again and pour all into a casserole. Bake, covered, at 350 for about 45 minutes or until done. You don't have to thaw out the beans to make this recipe. I just pour them all in totally frozen. The oven will thaw them out. Cook until you like the texture. Less time for crunchy, more time for "southern" style. Enjoy.
Food today:
B--1 protein shake with strawberries
Lunch--1 turkey sandwich on 1 slice millet bread sliced crosswise, with mayo and lettuce
Snack--1/2 apple, about 20 almonds to stop some cravings that I think the apple brought on. 1/4 oz cheddar cheese.
Dinner--roast chicken with garlic. Green beans.
I just found out that I can get direct TV for $10 per month for some French only channels. I can get the news and a bunch of movies in French. The movie that I rented that we are watching in my class, I can understand it if I read the subtitles, but w/o them, forget it! It's still all greek.
Our church just moved into new digs about 4 miles from where we were. There are all kinds of new neighborhoods around our new building. Last Sunday was our first time in the new building, with a sanctuary big enough to hold about 600. Well, there were so many people there this morning, we've already grown out of our space!! Lots of new visitors. Actually, our building is expandable to 1000, but I was amazed to see all the people.
It is cold here, at least to me. Down in the 40's at night. Brrr. Windy today, which makes it seem colder. But it was bright and sunny, so we were in the yard a little.
Have a great evening, everyone, and see ya on next week's board.
Another good day! I'm so proud of myself LOL Dinner tonight was a great whole wheat pita with lettuce, one slice of lowfat cheese, and two thin slices of chicken breast. As dressing (to replace mayo) I used mild salsa - awesome hehe
Suzy, sef, & Susan ~ Thank you for the words of encouragement! I know that my self esteem with go through the roof once I'm comfortable with myself. :-)
BOB ~ It sounds like you may have triggered the Windows XP System Restore feature somehow while you were updating your PC. No biggie. :-) You can see more info on it by going to START Menu -> Help and Support.
Ok, Here's yesterday's eating. I think I'll post food until wed, and then I'll back off.
B: Uncle Sam's Cereal w/ 2% milk
S: Apple juice (at Church)
L: Chili w/ cheese
S: Triscuits, 4
D: ummm, skipped it at church
CHEAT: potatoe chips and dip, not a ton but way more than none.
Do you see what skipping dinner did to me? I'm going to plan my Sunday meals next week so I don't get caught without a meal.
Bella- You are doing so well!!! Keep it up. I bet you have a great WIW(Weigh in Wednesday)!! You should be proud of yourself.
Gator- THat's cool about the DirectTV. I olve watching my Spanish channels. Just stick with it. You'll be able to get it all in no time. I also watch many of my DVD's in spanish or with Spanish subtitles when available. Have you done that?
Pancho- Sounds like a great motivational show. It would be really cool if one of us got on there! Maybe I'll catch it if htey show it again. I have a hard time not tasting when I bake. Last week I made legal Banana Bread, but I ate 1/3 of a loaf on my own the first day!!! Argggjhhhh
