Happy Tuesday Morning

Hi All:

On my way to head out for work.... still 100% op, and healthier feeling as well! YEAH!!!!!

It is very cold outside makes me want to stay home :)

I weighed in and was 1/2 a pound lighter, hopefully my scale is being back to its better behaved self until I can get a new one. I am thinking of the one that does body fat and weight!

Hope everyone has a OP day!!!!

Welcome Agape!

Tuesday

I have the most yummy smelling roast beef cooking in my crock pot upstairs. I put it in last night with a little tomato sauce and some onion seasonings so it is just so tender. We will have it for lunch today instead of waiting for dinner. Hubby will come home for it and I have 2 kids here today. My eldest has a cold so we kept her home, the other one will get a plate made up for him. I am really looking forward to it.

I plan on doing my exercise again today. I want to make it a habit once again. It only makes sense, I don't know why so many of us fight against the idea of exercising...but we do!

Having the weekly Bible Study here tonight so I will do a quick run around of the house to make sure everything is in order. It is looking pretty good but I will have to run the vaccuum through and do the washrooms again. Why I am telling you all this is beyond me!

QUILTER- Being frozen solid is a way of life for us Canadians in the heart of winter! However, the ice storm leftovers have been melted away from an evening of some rain and our trees are standing up again. There is lots of snow still and more falling but nothing treacherous..to us that is. We are all accustomed to certain weather and I think we do best with what we are used to. I would rather have snow at this time of year than the heat DEBELLI is talking about. I can't stand really hot temps. and would live inside air conditioning if I was there. Thanks for thinking of me! I am glad to *hear* the joy in your posts, Kim.

JENNIFER- My daughter turns 9 at the end of March and we too have been bemoaning the fact that she only has one year left before hitting double digits like your son. It is amazing to think that they are that *old* already, isn't it? Congrats on the weight loss, you are doing terrific!

AGAPE- Do we have another sister in Christ on the board? :) Welcome to SB. I used to do Atkins too and revert back to it when I am trying to give myself a boost but SB is a wonderfully healthy way to eat. Hope you do well on it.

MOMof3reds- Congrats on the great eating. Doesn't it feel good to know that you can eat 100% on plan and still feel satisfied. It is an accomplishment for certain. Make sure you think back to it when you are tempted, knowing that you *can* do it and don't have to give in even to something small that is illegal.

JACK-K- As usual, you inspire me with your faithfulness to exercise and the great results that you get.

The kids are causing a ruckus, I better go check it out...later y'all!

Tuesday a.m.

I have been lurking, and it sounds like we are all doing well with our eating and exercise--could it be we are all thinking about wearing summer clothes and showing more of our bodies? I'm driving home this weekend (to OH) and wanted to be much thinner, but alas, I look the same as always. Still not losing :( I did have an episode with oysters and beer this weekend. My first oyster roast and it was too much fun--shucking the oysters, dipping in hot sauce, eating, throwing the shells down and starting all over. And we were with the Ohio State Alumni Club so got to talk to lots of people from home.

Deb-Thanks for all the MMs. The yoga sounds great, and it is my favorite price. I bet it will help stretch out all your muscles that are tight from running. I am loving my Pilates because of the stretching and strengthening of my core muscles.

Jackie - You put in a full weekend of work! Your sil is very lucky to have you guys to help him. Did his family help too? Did you walk last night?

Sabrina-Your description of your eating was a good one--I had to laugh when you described the texture of salad. I'm glad you are feeling better.

Maemae-I hope your life starts to settle down now. Have you gotten an apartment?

Miata-Hi there-it sounds like you have been plugging along. Is your KMart closing? I am worried that Walmart is losing all its competition and they will be able to charge whatever they want. And where will all these people get jobs? This economy is pretty scary!

Solshine-the pico de gallo sounds great. I'll need a trip to the store before I can make it. How many tomatoes did you use?

Susanne-You did wonderful with all the birthday temptations. The 8 bottles of water and the dancing are my favorite part of your weekend. Sounds great.

Kim - The funeral for your friend sounds very personal and moving. I bet you were glad that you went. Are you still painting? I am going to head outside and finish painting my shed after it warms up a bit. Can't wait until it is done. Did you say what colors you are using? I need some inspiration for my kitchen. Never mind--I just read your post about the colors. What brand of paint? I might look those up.

Susan-Welcome home. You lucked out traveling with someone who is doing Atkins. I bet the scale will be down for you this week.

Gracious-exercising 5 days a week is a noble goal haha. I would like to join you--maybe next week after my trip to Ohio. The roast sounds good-I love to eat a big lunch and a small supper. I hope your children start feeling better and I'm glad all that ice is gone.

Monet-I know what you mean that we will always worry about our kids. I hope your son finds a job very soon!!

Bob-I love the pic of the dog driving with his ears flying back--reminds me of my beagle, Gracie.

Gator-glad you lived through the conference. Did you ever say what the topic was? Enjoy your weekend--the play and dance sound like lots of fun. You need the r&r.

rb-I like the quote, this is a journey not a race. I will try to remember that. You poor thing-with the 3 kids on the floor at the doctor. Brings back bad memories--but at least you were there for your kids. I have made the Ranch Chicken twice recently. My ds and I love it--I put mushrooms on it the second time, used full fat sour cream and it was very good. I also made the mock mashed potatoes (an Atkins recipe) with cauliflower--they were delicious too.

Jennifer-I think you have had great losses. All those little amounts add up. Happy Birthday to your BIG boy. Too bad the kids have to grow up.

Thanks for all the inspiration! I love reading this board and I will continue on with the journey today.

Good Tuesday Morning,

When I left work last night it was snowing. I thought I won't have to walk when I get home. Got almost home and it totally stopped. As soon as I opened the door DH siad let get walking. Sure didn't want too, but sure glad I did. I had started getting a headache (which is something I don't have since SB) around 4:00 and was hoping the walk would send it away. After dinner it was really pounding. Went to workout out and was getting sicker by the minute. Finally finished my work out which was a huge strugle and the weights were soo heavy, and I had to hit the couch with an ice pack. It was early to bed for me. Luckily it is gone this morning but my eyes feel funny. Don't know what brought all that on.

Mel, WTG on passing up thos oatmeal cookies and being 100% Op all day. Now make it 2 days. You can do it.

Bob, I missed Joe Millionaire, who did he pick and how did she react when he told her the truth?

Quilter, those colors so sound warm. I bet it is really pretty. Lucky you having a ride in the snow. I hate driving in it and worry myself sick all the way to and from. DH thinks I'm silly. The more the better for him. Be careful out there.

Gator, I didn't realize before that our bdays were a day a part. Hope you have a grand time at the game and the River Dance. I hear that is really good.

Mom. Congrats on going all day OP. Now just do it again. Sounds like you had a rough day with sick kids. Hope your DS is better.

Agape, Welcome to our board. This is a great group of people and we are here to help one another all the way. Gee your new and already got to meet Monet. Lucky you.

Jennifer, WTG on that 4.5 pounds. :cb: Hope yu can be with us more now.

Deb, Good for you getting out there walking again. Sounds like you are getting back into your routine. It is so hard after missing awhile. But we know we are better for doing it.

Tranquil, Isn't it a good feeling being OP and feeling good? Good luck on another OP day. BUndle up.

Gracious, Can I come ove for lunch today? Yours sounds so much better than what I brought. You tell us allthat stuff because we are intereted in what you are doing. Get going on that exercise. Do it daily and you won't dread it after awhile. It is just part of my daily routine now.

Linworth, I think those oysters are legal, just not the beer. But you can't have one w/o the other. I admire you for just eating those nasty things. DH loves them. Yuk! Yes SIL's family was there also. My DD was at school all day (lucky her) so I guess we were there protecting her interests (you know how men put things away and arrange furniture) LOL

Need to get started here. Have a great OP day everyone. Be back later.

Jackie

Ellen 02-11-2003 08:56 AM

Morning! It is pretty cold here this morning, but the sky is blue and the sun is shining. I plan to hit the treadmill in a little bit. I had to run my daughter's algebra book over to the school for her already this morning. Thankfully, the school is close. The traffic is terrible in the mornings though...it was bumper to bumper all the way there.

I made whole wheat crust pizza for dinner last night. It was yummy! No one complained about the whole wheat crust, either, which was a first!

Tonight, I am making dinner for my massage therapist's family. We trade...I get massage, she gets food. I had to stop trading with her back when I had mono, and we are now resuming our arrangement. I think I will get back into weight lifting so the massage will feel REALLY good! ;)

QUILTER: I don't blame you for not wanting to drive in snow. I grew up in Chicago, and had to do it all the time, but did not like it. I like the almost snowless climate here! And when it snows, everything shuts down. Its like a vacation!

JENNIFER: I can hardly remember when my son turned 10! He is 24 now. They sure grow up fast. Sometimes, I wonder where the time went! My baby is now 16. Boy, does that make me feel old!

TRANQ: I am glad you are feeling better! And staying on program too! Hooray! I think a scale with the BF feature would be a nice thing to have. I am sure I would NOT like seeing it though!

GRACIOUS: I love fixing roasts in my crockpot! I get a whole sirloin tip and stuff it in mine and cook it until it falls apart. That was the best thing to do when I was doing Atkins. I would keep it in the fridge and snack on it. And in the fridge, the fat solidified, and I could remove it. I always just put beef soup base on mine, but onions sound tasty! Maybe I need to get a roast and make one...thinking about it is making me want one!

SOL: I hope your surgery goes well, and you recover in record time! Do you have instant messenger? If you get bored, you can chat online...I am on a lot on both AOL and Yahoo. (Yahoo's instant messenger by the way, is really really cool! Check it out!) Let me know if you want me to put you on my buddy list and yak at you while you are convalescing

JACK: Did you get dragged out into the cold to walk last night? :) Hey, don't worry about all the stuff that has to get done for the wedding. It will all come together! As long as you have the place, the groom, the minister, the dress, and the license, hey, the rest is just fun stuff! After it is all over, and you feel like you have been through the wringer, hopefully your daughter will say what mine did. She sighed and said HER wedding was perfect. That made it all worthwhile!

GATOR: Glad your conference is all over and you can relax a bit.

MEL: Good to see you! Way to go with the cookies! I wish I had made it through the wedding cake with out falling to temptation... You did great! I hope your son is feeling better.

MOMTO3: Hooray for you staying on program! Keep up the good work!

DEB: You can half that muffin recipe, but the muffins do freeze very well.

Ok...the treadmill is calling. If I missed anyone, I apologize. I will try harder next time!

Ellen 02-11-2003 09:04 AM

LIN: You were posting as I was, I guess! I have never had roasted oysters, but I could not pass them up battered and fried! There was a place in Sarasota that my husband I went to a couple times on vacation that had the BEST fried oysters. I want to go back! Have a safe trip to Ohio...

JACK: You were posting at the same time as I was too. I see you had to go walk! I am glad your headache was gone this morning. Do you get migraines? That is what it sounds like. I get a visual disturbance when I get one. Sometimes it makes me sensitive to light for several days.

Off to the treadmill....

Zanne 02-11-2003 09:42 AM

Quickie Hello

Good Morning All

Well, we're back into the deep freeze here! When I got up this morning it was MINUS 7.5F. YIKES!:yikes: The windchill will make it much colder. I've been dressing a lot warmer this winter, that's for sure.

MELIRIS--No ice like your friend, just REALLY cold!

I was kind of upset last night. I was eating OP all day but still my pants were getting tighter by the hour. They were so uncomfortable after supper that I had to go put on some stretchy pants. The upper part of my stomach--above the waistline--was actually puffed out further than my lower belly. (sorry for the visual! :p ) Perhaps I had too much salt and not enough water. Or maybe it's because I am actually getting more water than I have been in the past few weeks and my body is getting used to it. At least this morning I'm not so bloated.

Well, I better go. I promised DS I'd make Jello Jigglers with him. A friend of ours gave him a mold that will shape jello into racing cars!

Bye for now:wave:

Debelli 02-11-2003 10:33 AM

I'm back!

Got in those 4.5 miles, took me lots longer than yesterday, 55:54, but at least I went out, which is good, considering that I told myself I was only going to be going on M-W-F-SUN from here on. I have to say, I really like when I go out and walk/jog, not only for what it does to me physically, but mentally as well, I really have time to THINK:chin: I realized, I had forgotten the big picture. What I mean is this, if it's windy outside, it's hard for me to jog, so I wasn't going, but, I could easily of gone out walking. Yes, it's nice to know that I now am able to jog some distances but I wasn't going out some days because of not being able to feel like I could jog, but not realizing at the same time, I don't have to jog, I can walk and get the same benefits. All those years that I just walked did wonders for me, what's so wrong with just walking-it's sure better than nothing! So, with all that thinking I decided heck, walking is just as good and I'm going to be back out there as many days as I can, if it's back to 6 days, than so be it! Just think of all the thinking I'll be doing!!!!!:D

Also, this morning, I, as well as many of the rest of us know that not only are nuts good for us, but alas, they are fattening. Well, remember that great bargain on those almonds I got, well, I've been popping a few in my mouth here and there about the day, maybe 4-8 at a time, not really journaling them all the time. So, this morning as I was sitting on the computer I looked up the nutritional information on an ounce of almonds and it was a bit shocking to see the numbers for 1oz of almonds

170 calories
15 grams of fat
5.5 grams of carbs
6 grams of protein
1.5 grams fiber

If I weren't trying to lose weight, I'd probably not worry as much, but an ounce of almonds basically would use up a almost half of my fat intake for the day. THEN, on top of it all, they sure don't make a dent in my stomach if I'm hungry, imagine what you could eat that would add up to those calories and fats instead. NOW, I do think that once in a while they are okay, esp. if you are having cravings, but as far as I'm concerned, for me, I'm going to try curtail my eating of them as I have been-could be a culprit for me!

TRANQUIL, I'm hoping your doing better today. I'm sure the scale will be down some more, before you know it you'll be svelt, between not eating from being sick AND SB! Sure, not the way you'd like to lose it, but heck, if someone told me I could lose 5lbs in a few days from being sick I'd for sure be sick-I love the easy outs;) Miss you!

MAE, thanks for checking in! Glad to hear your divorce is final, a new job and a new life, you are definitely headed in the right direction! Can't wait to hear the details of all the goings on with you!!!!

JACKK, I liked the yoga class, people of all ages and types and the instructor seems to know what she's doing. When she requested we wear no bras due to their restrictions I figured I wasn't going to be taking another class-there's no way in **** I am going anywhere without a bra and I told her, (and the rest of the class), which was fine-I don't think anyone would come to the class if I were to go braless anyhow. Have to find a sticky mat and a yoga belt, hoping there's some cheap alternatives out there! Probably could find one at a garage sale but who knows if it will be in time for the next class-will look this weekend. She said yoga tapes are good, BUT, that there's no one there to correct your poses if you are doing them wrong. We did a pose and just about everyone had to be adjusted. Others we did I didn't have a problem with, even though it was my first time. She kept it simple, thank goodness! WOW, just 3 months more to go til the wedding, it will be here before you know it. If you don't post a picture before that, I do EXPECT to see you all gussied up in a pic from the wedding;) We would you like to go to dinner for your bday this weekend? Good for you for getting out and walking with DH last night AND on top of that, a work out! You rock girlfriend!!!!!

MEL, good for you for sticking to plan, but gotta ask, is it BFL or SB plan? Girl, if they would of started in with that aura stuff you mentioned, it would of been my first and last class I'd gone too, that's a bit too funky for me. We did relaxation and then meditation for a few minutes and the only thing was at the end, a salutation, nothing funky. Power yoga??? What's that? Have to ask, at your gym, do they have the rebounders (little trampolines)?

BOB, maybe that little bit of chill you had finally moved down our way - geez, would you northern gals stop hogging all the cool air already! It's better here today, not by much, but I'll take it. If I'm not *****ing about the heat, it's about the cold - is there a happy medium? Did you ever go to the TOPS meeting in your area? I just KNEW that last night wasn't the last JM. I haven't watched but a couple episodes but wanted to see the last one, oh well, next week. Who do you think he'll pick. I hope Zora, though most are leaning towards Sarah. I LOVED the avatar at the bottom of your post!!!!!!

QUILTER, you know what they say, laughter is the best medicine! Have to ask, what was so funny??? Glad you liked the MM!!! You spoke of mindless eating, it's so true, as I'm sure you read my findings above with the almonds! So, when it snows, how does one know he's in his own lane on the road???

GATOR, enjoy your trip up to Gainsville and seeing Riverdance, I hear it's a great show to see. I have the tape but never watched it. I've seen it on TV and have loved it. Enjoy your birthday this weekend.

MOM, glad to hear, with all the commontion in the house that you were able to stay OP!! Kudos to you:cp: Each passing day, it gets easier and easier. Take it one hour, then one day at a time.

AGAPE, http://members.aol.com/eldemila/sb_sign2.jpg Glad you've decided to jump in with 2 feet and join us. Once again, it was a pleasure to speak with you the other night and I'm glad I was able to help in some small way. You'll find the gals on the board are extremely helpful, not to mention friendly and loving! I have actually thought about a question similiar to yours in the past and I truly don't think it's an issue to worry about, if it were, there would have to be warnings on those scrubs for diabetics and I don't think the sugars would be absorbed like that we ingest. Good question though!

JENNIFER, CONGRATS on the loss from last month and so far this month. You'll continue to lose and at whatever pace it is, it's losing and it's in the right direction. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO CODY! Double digits!!! Girl, they are never NOT your baby, no matter what age they are!!!!:D

GRACIOUS, your description of your roast just about makes my mouth water! I have a crock pot that's never seen the light of day, still in a sealed box. I do like using my pressure cooker though. LOL! If I were up your way, I'd stay inside with the heat and being in Miami, inside with the a/c - there's no happy medium here in Miami most of the time.

LIN, oyster chucking? Sounds like fun! Not sure if I've ever tried oysters, aren't they the slimy things? What do you think is the difference between pilates and yoga? I've heard of it but don't really have a clue what's involved in it and what it's all about. Doesn't matter what the season is for me, my body NEVER gets shown!!!!!

MONET, oh my gosh, if I could trade food for a massage, I'd try to learn to cook! I'd love to have reflexology done on my feet, that would be heaven to me!!!
Thanks for the tips on the muffins, frozen or not, I'd be eating them like crazy, it's just me. When I make the Fearn cake mix I pre-portion pieces and stick them in the freezer, then I turn around and eat pieces frozen, usually all in a day or two! Pizza crust, a recipe you have posted on the board or from the board? Tried it once and had to toss it. One day, I'll have to try again, thin crust, for sure. Until then, I use a ww tortilla and it works well. Enjoy the TM time!!!!

ZANNE, you can let a bit of that cold air filter to Miami - it was too hot yesterday for my liking. I get bloated like that, could be from water, TOM, things that have nothing to do with this WOE, just be patient and as you saw, the bloating usually goes down. I only wear stretchy pants and when those get tight on me, there's no doubt about the bloat!

Well, I'm caught up for now. I will get back on a little later and post a TUESDAY TIP Now, I'm going to find something to eat, haven't had anything yet and I'm starting to get a wee bit hungry.

Once again, please remember CHAT IS TONIGHT AT 9:15PM EST!!!!

DEB: The pizza crust was one I made up as I went along. I mixed it in the bread machine, and then took it out to shape and let raise some more. I swear the secret to good whole wheat breads is the flour. This Wheat Montana stuff is incredible. The type of wheat is a white or gold wheat, and not a hard winter red. It makes much lighter baked goods, but is still 100% whole wheat. Harry's has a machine to grind your own. Silly me always ends up wearing black the days I go to buy flour! I end up a mess!

ZANNE: Man, that is cold! We rarely get subzero temps here, but I remember them well from Chicago... Stay warm! And NO jigglers for you!

Debelli 02-11-2003 11:09 AM

Here's my contribution for TUESDAY TIPS

Glycemic Load Explained

By Paula J. Wart

In the not too distant past, it was believed that foods containing sugar were “bad” because they caused blood sugar levels to rapidly escalate, whereas carbohydrates were “good” because their effect was more delayed.

Recently it’s been discovered that some foods release their sugar slowly, and other carbohydrate-containing foods have a “flash” effect on blood sugar levels.

Researchers began testing how quickly specific foods like beets and oatmeal convert to glucose (blood sugar), comparing them to white table sugar or white bread. They set a standard measure – how quickly will 50 grams of the particular food’s carbohydrates turn to sugar. That’s called Glycemic Index (GI).

What GI doesn’t tell you is how many carbohydrates are in a serving. This presents a problem. For example, you might think a cola soda pop, with a GI of 90 is better than cranberry juice because it has a GI of 105 (compared to white bread). You might be tempted to eliminate carrots from your diet due their extremely high GI value (131, using white bread as the base).

A More Detailed Explanation
Common sense tells you that a berry-based drink should be better than a sugar-based soda pop or that carrots have got to be good for you. That’s where Glycemic Load (GL) comes in: it takes into consideration a food’s Glycemic Index as well as the amount of carbohydrates per serving.

A carrot has only four grams of carbohydrate. To get 50 grams, you’d have to eat about a pound and a half of them (and who would do that except Bugs Bunny?). GL takes the GI value and multiplies it by the actual number of carbohydrates in a serving.

131% x 4 = 5
By contrast, a cup of cooked pasta has a GI of 71 and a whopping 40 grams of carbohydrates giving it a GL of 28.

What Determines GI and GL?
Since the values are based on carbohydrates, the values to a large degree are determined by how many grams there are per serving, and how quickly the carbohydrate is broken down into glucose. Several factors come into play:

Amount of cooking: Starches in food swell when cooked (whether it’s boiled, broiled, baked, or fried). The starch grains in a baked potato swell to the bursting point, whereas the starch grains in brown rice remain relatively unchanged.

Amount of processing: When grains are rolled, ground, or smashed, the protective (and harder to digest) outer coating is removed. Whole oats have a lower GI than oatmeal, which is made from smashed oat grains.

Amount of fiber: Some foods naturally have higher amounts of fiber – for example beans and legumes. Unprocessed foods (for example brown rice) have greater amounts of fiber than processed foods (white rice).

Amount of fat: The more fat there is in a food the longer it takes to digest. However, too much of the wrong kind of fat have been linked to a number of diseases, including heart disease, diabetes, and obesity.
GL values are interesting – and somewhat useful. But they’re available on a limited basis, and don’t take into account any valuable vitamins and minerals found in a particular food. To be healthy, get sufficient nutrients and fiber, and avoid a blood sugar “spike”:

Choose a wide variety of non-starchy vegetables

Replace refined foods with whole grain products

Eat fruits and starchy vegetables with high protein or high fiber foods

Use healthy fats – nuts, seeds, grains, fish, and liquid oils (olive, canola, soybean, et cetera)

Lose weight (if you’re overweight)

Exercise regularly

Good Tuesday Monring!

Good Morning everyone! It is gorgeous, if a little chilly here this morning. I'll take it though after the snow we were in this weekend!

While I was "hiding" yesterday I snuck over to the movie theater and caught to afternoon matinee of "Chicago"--WOW! I highly recommend it! I was humming the songs all evening.

Today it is back to work and I have meetings all afternoon and evening. Sigh.

Deb--I'm back to not counting calories or grams of anything. I get so obsessed with food when I do that it becomes all i can think about and then I want to eat all the time. I do much better when I just eat what is legal and try to stay away from what is not.

Zanne--What an uncomfortable feeling! Keep forcing the water and watch the salt. I never thought I was sensitive to salt until I started this WOE, but now I can tell when I've consumed too much.

Monet--How did you make your WW pizza crust? I'm going to do one in the bread machine this week. I love oysters in any way, shape, or form. I had a 1/2 dozen on the half shell the other night as an appetizer--MMMMM!

Jackie--Sorry about the headache! I hope you are feeling better today.

Linworth--I LOVE an oyster roast--everything is legal except the beer. Speaking of which--has anyone tried any of the low-carb beer? Isn't is interesting that the beer industry has lept on this trend much faster than the food insustry which is still pusing low-fat/high sugar foods?

Gracious--That roast sounds yummy! I don't have a crockpot (no place to store it in my tiny kitchen), but am doing a major clean-out this pring for a yard sale and hope to make room for a crock pot!

Sabrina--WTG on the 1/2 lb loss!!!!!

Kim--My sympathies for all the snow! I heard on the weather this morning that the NE US is having an unusually heavy amount of snowfall this year!

Jennifer--Always nice to have you pop in and say hello. Don't you feel disconnected from the entire world when the computer is down! WTG on your weight loss! One of the worst things we can go is get impatient with our rate of loss--trust me--I've sabatoged myself on this many times. Be grateful that you weight less this month than you did last--no matter what the amount!

Agape3737--WELCOME! I've always wondered about the skin care products with sugar too! I have no idea what to tell you except that I've just gotten into the habit of avoiding anything with sugar (or trying to at least!).

3reds--SO what happened with Joe? SOrry to hear about the sick little ones! Hang in there--spring will come one day.

DEBELLI---How much of this cold do you want??? Too bad we couldn't trade some of your heat and our cold and make it a happy medium:D

MONET--Nope. No jigglers for me. I'm already jiggly enough!;) Actually, Jello doesn't appeal to me all that much.

Ok, I'm going to brave the cold! Gotta pick up a couple of things. At least the sun is shining! I'd much prefer the really cold with the sun type day to the dreary, damp, dull hovering around freezing day.

DEB: I just thought of an idea. You can plan a get together at Spa Monet... I have a pool, which will be opened in April, no matter how cold it still is... Tom and Laura are weird about that... and I can hire my massage therapist neighbor to come and do a massage party. She would love it, and everyone would love her. I can do the cooking...and I have plenty of space here. I could even tell Tom he has to go camping. He would be out the door in a heartbeat....
