Default thanks barb

I thought it was probably just lean bacon so i got some of that. Its not really my favorite thing I find it salty but thought it might ring the change from egg for breakfast. I cant wait until I can have just a tiny bit of cereal next week.

Did really well today, went to the local 'show' and resisted everything. It was really hot so all I had was some water to drink, and some cheese I had taken with me as my emergency ration of food.

Its nice to have some support here, thanks everyone.

Cool These cravings need to go away!

First of all, I've always had to pee a lot in the middle of the night, and I do drink a lot of water, but yeah, I'm hoping some of it now is detox-
it BETTER be. I've been suffering without my sweets and bad carbs.
I started on the 14th, and I did alright the first couple days. I'm a vegetarian as well, and I'm doing this with my dad. Last night was bad, though! I didn't "cheat" so far as eating a forbidden food- but I totally binged on the chocolate PB cookies I made, and then ate more peanut butter- way over the daily nut allowance, I was! (I know I've posted about this like 3 times in other places, but I'm upset about it, okay!?!?)
So that was bad. I'm feeling grumpy this morning just because I feel ashamed and mad at myself. So I've learned, however, that I don't need to have those around the house because I can't limit myself. I'm just going to tough it out with no sweets for the next week or so, because I need to banish these awful cravings! (Can anyone say I was DROOLING last night watching charlie and the chocolate factory?)

On a side note, dad and I are VERY pleased at the success of the recipes I've found on here! So far I've made squash casserole, zucchini pizza, mock belgian waffles, lemon pie, and peanut butter chocolate cookies, and every single one has turned out wonderfully! Dad evey said himself that he's amazed that he's actually on a diet where he can eat (albeit slightly altered versions) of cookies, pizza, cheesecake and waffles! I was feeling pretty proud of myself as well, simply because I thrive on compliments and I'm the chef around here!

Looking forward to a much better week! Good luck to you all!

Don't worry, darlingchick, I made the peanut butter cookies too and ate way too many the first few days of this diet. I just decided that I will stick to other OP desserts from now on that don't trigger me to eat! Slipping is just part of life. Learn from it and stay OP the next day!

I've done okay most of the week, but I did slip up on Friday and Saturday. I made the Taco Bake for dinner and have been eating the leftovers for lunch for the past few days. Breakfast has been mostly an egg and V8 with some coffee. Dinners have been okay except for Friday, when I had a burger and fries. I also had a sundae from Sonic last night. I thought it would make me gain bigtime but I have maintained so far.

I want to stick with Phase 1 just until I reach 175 lbs., so I've got one more to go. DH and I just went grocery shopping yesterday, so I have all of our meals for the next two weeks planned out, which helps. I am planning on making the crustless lemon pie for breakfast since I'm getting a little tired of eggs and I didn't much like the cheesecake/pancakes because of the overwhelming Splenda taste. I'm also going to try the chicken divan recipe this week. My DH isn't a big broccoli fan, so I guess I'll be eating most of that.

For dessert, I've tried the peanut butter cup recipe, which I LOVE, but I ran out of cool whip so I'll just stick with the pops. The peanut butter cookie recipe also looks good, so I might try that this week if I get a chance.

Good luck, ladies!

A lot of lessons learned this week, for sure! I feel like I've actually settled into the diet now...the first few days were quite a ride, though.

Some things I've learned -

I can forgive myself

Certain SBD approved foods can be trigger foods for me (fudge pops, cool whip free etc.)

The kids WILL NOT DIE if I don't keep chips and cookies and ice cream in the house for them. They'll complain, but they won't die. Once I get a handle on my cravings I may allow these things back in the house...but for right now, NO WAY!

I'm not in this alone

There are several other lessons I've learned...but these are the most prominent ones. I feel as though I've gotten over a huge hurdle this week despite some blunders. One day at a time will get me there...

Changa- I've done the same thing, as far as making a weekly menu. Dad and I plan together and stick to the grocery list! And the lemon pie is great- I made it into 12 cupcakes and that way two made a perfect serving!
Pearshape- SO glad I'm not alone on that one. At least I stayed away from the (few) remaining ones today- dad can finish them off.
Val- What inspiration! Thanks for keeping me motivated by your inspiration and attitude!

Two cupcakes are one serving? My understanding was that, if I made it as cupcakes, only one would be a serving. Anyone know?

The original recipe makes 8 servings, but I made it into 12 cupcakes. You could actually easily do 16, I just got lazy and instead of getting out a new muffin tin, filled the papers up almost to the brim. Anyway, it's techinally 1 1/2 servings, but we didn't have anything else for breakfast, so I can justify it and count it towards dairy and sweet treats.

Default 7 days down

I just wanted to say I cant believe that its been a whole week on SB. I feel great, headaches have gone, felt a bit irritable yesterday, too early for PMS, but all thats gone this morning.

Food wise I have been really good, no obvious cheats, (two strawberries at work one day last week).

I intend to make the breakfast cheesecake today, I need to go buy cheese though. Whats that netcherfaul (sp) stuff, can I just substitute low fat cream cheese like philadelphia or quark? I cant get that stuff over here, at least I have never seen it.

Anyway, congrats to every one for getting through the first week. Heres hoping next week goes as well.

Wendy- I had never heard of that cream cheese either. In my market it was right next to all the other cream cheeses. I think I am going to try it. I tried ff cream cheese and have to say I honestly hated it. Maybe that stuff will be better!

Hey Kimberly!!
I'm going to really hit the gym this week! I took it easy the 1st week (maybe too easy)! So I'm going to really go for it this week. I think if I don't get down at least a total of 10lbs for the full 2 weeks, I may do Phase 1 one more week! I'm not sure yet! I'll just see how this week goes first and I'll post my weight Monday, July 25!

Have a great day everyone and good luck!!
