Good morning Back from vacation and dropped back into crazy month. For two more weeks I will be working both jobs. That just got crazier because my boss from the "old" job gave notice last week. That staff meeting is Tuesday and should be very interesting. I need to resist efforts to draw me in to help the agency transition. Meanwhile "new" job is in high gear craziness from now until the election. I just need to focus on getting through because I know life will be a lot more manageable the day after the voting is done.
In the meantime I need to focus on staying on plan when life is insane. Things I know work - plan, plan, plan. Tonight is my one night off (and my one merely 9 or 10 hour day) so I'm pulling out the crockpot recipes and planning some healthy and easy meals for the week. Next I will figure out where I can squeeze in some exercise, even 15 minute walks. Anyone have tips or tricks to share?
It was a great weekend and it's time to get movin' into the week. I've been up for awhile but the peanut gallery accompanied me this AM so my computer time has been compromised. I'm leaving today to go to our other house-my Sis flies in from Hawaii tomorrow. Kirk is staying here to tend his tomatoes but the pups are going with me.
I'm focusing on planning ahead for good food choices this week! How about you?? What's on your agenda today? Stop and chat
Natasha, lol, loved your post last night! I was feeling your SBD energy, for sure!
Hi, Cyndi! Take care this week! Work sounds extra crazy especially when you're rebounding from such a nice vacation. Our tomatoes are in such a small area that we're able to cover them for weeks. I haven't decided exactly what my food agenda will be yet, but I'm taking the Vita Mix with me and all the vegetables (and my bike). I cleaned out the freezer last night and made Kirk a big pot of Elk stew this AM. I'm hoping it's all gone by the time I get back.
Cyndi, I hope you find time to breathe, let alone exercise! You don;'t want to undo all the good stuff you got from your shore vacation.
Debbie, my peanut gallery were pretty awake and keen this morning. They are always so glad to see me - a bonus when you live alone.
Served at the Church supper for 4½ hours yesterday 3:30 to 8:00 and my knee survived standing and walking on a concrete floor. The harvest supper was a huge success but we ran out of food. My supper was a wee bit of ham, some salad and leftover turkey dressing - not quite SBD but whadayado? Bed sure felt good last night.
Today is a full steam ahead day and I'm just hoping nobody drops in the interfere with my momentum. I must put "Learn Italian" on my list.
Good morning I went out of town for a few days and somehow summer vanished in my absence! I guess it is time to shift our biking to the afternoon. Lots of catch up to do today.
I had a busy weekend at my mom's and didn't find time to post. It's good to be back this morning.
Cyndi, I'm sure glad you were able to rest up before jumping into this crazy month. I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers, that's some schedule you'll be keeping.
Debbie, drive safely and have a great visit!
Ruth, if anyone can learn Italian in less than a week you can. Try to take it easy today. You want to be well rested and in tip top shape for your trip.
Hi Karen, I've got lots of catching up to do today too. It's great getting away for the weekend but it's amazing how much there always is to do when you get back, eh?
Hello to those who haven't checked in yet. Have a terrific, on plan Monday!
Morning! I've been awake a while, but just savoring the opportunity to lay in bed and listen to the rain on this Monday morning.
Cyndi, I hope you can stay focused and get through the next 2 weeks without running into any major roadblocks. It sounds like life is going to be pretty hectic for a while, but at there's blue skies and sunshine at the end!
Debbie, have a safe trip with the pups. How long will you be at the other house?
Ruth, I'm glad your knee survived the supper! I hope no one had to be turned away, but it must have been a big success.
Karen, I hope you catch up on your catching up today! Did you have a nice vacation?
Heidi, did your mother have a nice birthday? It's nice that you were able to go and spend it with her.
The rain is keeping me indoors today, but we need the rain badly and I'm not going to complain about it. I would have liked to get my new shrubs planted, but they'll get in eventually. I'm going to go have coffee with Mom & Dad this morning, then come home and get the laundry done and put on a pot of Hobbitshire Soup. A day like this calls for curling up with a good book to read and doze away the the afternoon.
Hi, Linda! I hope you get to curl up with your book today. I don't know how long I'll be over-at least a week. I have a ride over for Kirk on Saturday if it looks to be an extended stay.
Hi, Heidi! Glad to hear you had a nice visit. Home is always nice.
Long time no checking in but know that I am lurking around and reading posts, need to get back into the habit of writing daily, keeps me more accountable.
I am back from my vacation to Maine and right back into the swing of things at home and at work.
I have so many home improvement plans that I want to get started on, I dont know where to start. I started a mosaic tile backsplash in the Spring but I messed it up and have no way of fixing the "oops." Now I am just forced to grout it as is
I expected to come back to Colorado from New England to nice fall temperatures but it is close to 90 degrees today with no relief in sight! I hope you are all having a wonderful day!
Linda, this was my mom's first birthday without my dad. It's only been 4 and 1/2 months since he died and she is still feeling very lost.
We did manage to have some fun though and we did a lot of reminiscing about the 54 birthdays they had together. I was really glad to be able to spend the weekend with her. She and her cat are going to come to Maine for Columbus Day weekend. I'm not sure what the cat thinks about it, but my mom and I are both looking forward to it.
