Good Morning Chicks.

I guess I will start the coffee this morning. I only have french vanilla, hopefully thats ok with everyone. Come on in and grab a cup. The beach is pretty disappointing this morning.

I had my weigh in this morning. +1 from last week. I haven't changed my ticker yet. How sad!

gotta run. Busy morning at school. I'll stop in later.

French vanilla is just great! That reminds me that I have some SF Irish Cream syrup around and must haul it out.

I was up with the birds again this morning. My internal alarm clock is set to 5 AM for some reason. It must be my farmer blood! Anyhow, I've got some dashing around to do before Gail gets here to clean so will just and be back later.

Jamie, your weight fluctuates from day to day so don't sweat it. I weigh daily and average for the week when I'm fretting over my weight. Check out the "Scales Lie" post in the FAQ.

Later, chickies!

Good morning Jamie and all of you other chicks that I might miss here this morning! The coffee sure is good this morning! Thanks Jamie! I was surprised not to see Ruth starting us out! Isn't she the early bird at the beach? Well, our weekend getaway was nice. We bought matching windbreakers in the mall there. (It was chilly!) I got new sunglasses, 3 toe rings, earrings, a new outfit, new shoes, and some polish for my nails.(the ones I'm trying to grow!) Boy, I love shopping! I never used to buy myself much but I sure am making up for it now! Well, looks like I'm starting phase 1 over, starting today! Temptation was just too great! I was with my aunt, cousin, grandmother, and husband and everyone was getting really good stuff to eat so I said " I might cheat a little this weekend but come Monday I've got to start over and stick to it!" We ate at IHOP for lunch on Saturday and I had their chicken, cheese, bacon, let, may,on some kind of bread, and fried okra. For dinner we ate at Texas Roadhouse and I had the 1/2 rack of baby back ribs with string beans and mixed veggies. ( Oh, I also had one of their AWESOME rolls) On the way home we stopped at bojangles and had a chicken biscuit, and some good ole southern iced tea. Then we stopped a couple hours later and I wasn't really hungry but wanted a snack so I got a small sack of warm, roasted cashews. I should have stopped there but I got a small back of Grandma UTZ homemade chips. A couple hours later we stopped for gas and I got 3 chicken wings and ate one of my hubby's double cheeseburgers and a few of his fries! (McDonalds) Well, I guess have of the battle is owning up to your screw ups heh? I weighed myself this morning and I'm still at 170 but that may change. I think it's about that TOM too!! That didn't help with my cravings at all. Ok, now that I'm making excuses for myself it's time to get serious and back on the beach!!! Have a great day ladies and I'll chat with ya some more later!!! Good morning, girls!

Jamie, that pound will come right off... Ruth is right... don't stress about it.
In fact, Tara is about to pick it up after her little weekend binge. (glad you had a good weekend, Tara!)

Ruth, I'm glad I didn't plant those seeds! It's darned chilly out there! I'm always in complete denial when it comes to cold weather.

I'm superstitious, so I shouldn't say this, but I'm feeling really energetic this morning! I can't wait to get everyone out of the house so I can get some stuff done around here!

Have a great day, everyone!

Thumbs up Good Morning - Pass the Splenda Please.....

Nice to see people get up and post early here. These are my quiet moments before anyone else is around at the college where I work.

I am starting SBD today. Not as prepared pantry-wise as I would like to be. But I did manage on OP breakfast (scrambled eggs, 2 Morningstar veggie breakfast links and a cup of Crystal Light with my meds.)

I have packed my 10:00 snack (cuke rounds, matching round pieces of boiled ham, and part-skim string cheese) and part of my lunch (tuna salad which I will add to some lettuce and mushroom salad I will buy at the cafeteria - which, thankfully, has a great choices salad bar.) I am curently sipping on a no-fat latte with splenda - which as far as I can tell, is OP as well, no?

All I have left to do is figure out what is available in the cafe for a mid afternoon snack.

My plan for late this afternoon is to leave school about 5:00, walk to my sports club (about 20 minutes) and then take 1 one-hour core water aerobics class from 6-7, followed by an OP salad for a late dinner at the club's cafe.

My plan is to then take the T home and have my sf jello and some skim milk before bed.

Does all this sound right for Day one Phase one? I should add that I am a Type II Diabetic (meds - not insulin - and I'm trying to keep it that way). So these 3 meals plus snacks are right up my medical/nutritional alley.

May I wish you all the grace and good humor to have a delightful OP Day!

Good morning all.

I strayed a little from Phase 1 over the last 4 days (vacation and parties) so I'm back full force. I'm still down 7 and I started April 14 so I'm feeling pretty good. PLUS, I saw someone yesterday that noticed that I lost. She said she could see it in my face and thought I had lost at least 10 lbs. WOO HOO!!! I tried to make good choices while on vacation and brought all of my OP snacks with me. I think I did better on vacation than I did over the weekend when we got back.

Oh well, today is another day of SBD!

Morning chickies!

Sounds like everyone is up and moving around. I'm still a little groggy this morning. But feeling much thinner. I'll be glad when all this vacation fat is gone and I can start pounding down the pounds again.

Have an OP day chickies! I have a new class beginning today so I have to run. Bami - No call from the fireman yet.

Well I have finally drug myself out of bed! The kids are out of school today for a weather day we did not use. I decided to sleep in and well that I did! I feel good and rested! We have a soccer game this afternoon which will be chilly! The high is only 65* and the girls don't play til 6:30. My eating was very good over the w-end. The only questionable meal is when DS and I went to Longhorn and the only bad part is I know they put butter on their steaks before grilling and I am sure their seasonin has sugar in it but I ate it and loved it! I did eat a pc of the whole grain bread but had no butter on it and only put a lil butter on my sweet pot. I was pleased with my choices. Oh I skipped the salad since it is just iceburg lettuce. Well I better get goin. I have a ton of things to do and I have slept the morning away! I still have not eaten b-fast yet. OYOYOY!!! lol

Helo all! Maybe I'll have time to post to ya later?
Anchor...if he don't call we didn't need him anyways! teehee!

Happy Monday Chickies,

Well, I have started out this week pretty good, I am down another 2 pounds and I don't even know how many inches. I was wearing a size 52G bra and now I am wearing a 46DD, WOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOO!

I have lost way more inches than weight, which is cool with me. I worked out 4 days last week and I feel fantastic!

I am travelling this week for work, but my hotel has a fitness center so that's fantabulous!

Everyone have a great week and remember "Life's a Beach!"

Ah, Louise, don't get too upset, okay? Sometimes the scale just fluctuates. I was up 3 pounds on Friday, then down 4 on Saturday. You just never know! Hope today is great for you!

Ruth, I was so excited...I found TONS of SF DaVinci syrups at TJ Maxx this weekend...Irish Cream was one of the 7 I bought. I was a little overeager, I guess. Anyone want a latte at my house?

Tara, jump back into Phase 1 and I bet you'll feel much better! All that shopping sounds fun...I got some clothes at TJ Maxx too. I find that I've saved so much money from eating out (which I used to do at least daily) and now I can spend it on my permanent things like clothes!

Ellis, I'm so glad you are happy and energetic! I'm sure it has nothing to do with it, but the romance novel I read this weekend had a cat named Ellis that was quite energetic. She streaked through the house, often with some bit of dinner in her mouth, stolen from the kitchen. Hope your day is filled with lots of fun and accomplishments to smile over at the end!

Lemonade, you sound energetic and positive! That's great! You may want to incorporate more veggies with greater nutritional value...have spinach or spring mix instead of lettuce for your salad, and stick to one salad a day. Have broccoli, cauliflower, green beans, cabbage, greens, etc on the side for another meal, or mix them with your meal rather than having a salad. Cukes are yummy and good to have, but they don't have much in the nutritional arena either. Just try to have some of your veggies come from those nutritional veggie powerhouses. Keeping to one salad a day will also keep you from the "I can't eat another salad!!!" wailing that some SBDers do after two weeks of salads all day long. Too much of a good thing is sometimes bad.

Erin, don't forget to count Phase 1 over again...you need to do a full two weeks with no cheats (Dr. A did say in a chat that you just need to do it until your cravings leave, but I think doing it for two weeks really sets you up for success!) Welcome back and good for you on sticking OP during your vacation!

Amy, fireman??? Is there another hottie in the works? YGG!

Kelli, your trip sounds wonderful!

BB hope you feel much better very soon! Take it easy, okay?

Bamie, hope you have a great day and stay warm. 65 is a total heat wave here...bring out the shorts!

RN, so glad to see you and hear that you are having fun with the little ones!

Me:
Well, I'm still at 214. 5. Oy...not sure what's going on, but I'm going to keep swimming (as Dory in Finding Nemo advises). I lifted weights again this morning, and have Jazzercise class tonight. I'm looking forward to it...I hear there are several fun and sassy new numbers!

Back to class tomorrow, so tonight is my last fun night at home. I put a curry in the crockpot and made brown rice yesterday so it should be an easy dinner. Then lots of relaxing to make up for the next six weeks of work!

Have a great day, chickies!

Thumbs up You're So Right, Beachgal.....

I am starting out depending too much on salads and I would be complaining on the boards probably by Thursday about not being able to take one more nibble of lettuce.....

Luckily, I can pick up a veggie plate tonight at my health club as well - just need to make sure I'm not getting the not-allowed-at-this-juncture-starchy variety that I so adore. Beets, potatoes, and corn are my comfort veggies.

Thanks for the heads up on this issue.

While I'm at it - do you - or anybody else - have any yummy bag lunch suggestions?
