Hello to all the lovely chicks and rooster(s?)

Yes I am still alive! sometimes I think barely. April has been a rough month for me health wise. Will not bore you with all the details but I am on another round of med's. This time for a yeast infection in my throat most likely caused by the last run of antibiotics.
We leave for OH on Saturday for a week of family visits. My hope is that the pain in my throat is decreased by Saturday night.
But being sick has had a few advantages, I dropped a few pounds but they will bounce back when I can swallow solid food again.
WO not so much this entire month of April or March. Steps have been down mostly with illness and low energy.

Oh and then just for laughs and giggles this week. A family of RATS yes rats decided to make a bed and breakfast under the hood of my car. Mechanic thought he got all the hidden food sources taken out of the undercarriage (food stored from rats that they dragged in) on Monday, Tuesday car was fine, Wednesday the rats must have been pissed off because then they chewed up my wiring harness(s) so had to have car towed back to mechanic. I have filed a claim with my insurance company. But not sure when I may get a car back. Good news is we will be gone a week. So no need to rent a car at our home base lol

I tried to catch up on all the posts from my last check in and looks like overall everything is pretty much normal. Diana3271 sorry your hives came back but hope they are under control now.
Teri000 I know your garden is going to look fantastic this year. but then again you have always managed to make all your flowers so pretty
ciecie You stay so consistent, which is not an easy thing to do.
Syckgirlsfv I think you will make your goal weight before Vegas! I am so glad that south beach is working again for you. Don't forget to check out skinnygirl website for recipe ideas
Usc4valpo You are/have been doing great, following your progress is very inspirational.
Rachel1234 I hope your appointment for your hip goes ok. Can't wait for an update when you are ready

BTW, AF (alcohol free) 24 days out of 30 for the month of April, 1 more day than March.

Tealer: It's so great that you were able to hike the Appalachian trail. What part did you go on. Did you see any wild flowers or wild animals?

It was cooler and a bit rainy today. I dropped the grape hyacinths off at a public garden. And I weeded enough to finish filling up a bushel with weeds. I was pleased that I got out and did something. I used a plastic picnic chair. I sit in that and lean over to pull out the weeds. I don't like kneeling or sitting on the ground...

All my friends said they didn't think I could do it. They had watched me stuff myself so many times; they didn't think I had any self-control at all. I showed them. I knew in my heart I could make it. Sure, it was tough, but I'm no quitter. When the going got the toughest, it just made me more determined to lose the weight. The key is to believe in yourself. God believes in us, even though we don't always deserve His trust. If God can believe in us, then who are we to do otherwise? Pray for God's assurance, and you will find more than enough faith to make it through.

I posted my weight on last month's first page also. I am down 2 pounds from April 1st to today. I was as low as 267 this month and then came up a bit. It's not much of a loss, but definitely better than gaining. I had a tough month so I'm not going to be too down about it. I need to keep moving forward and chipping away at this extra weight. I hope to lose at least 5 pounds this month.

I decided to take a break from alcohol and do a "Dry May" which should absolutely help with the weight loss. Alcohol has been my downfall lately.

Hello gang. Hope you are all doing well.
Nancy - thanks for the kind words. I think I have hit my fighting weight and been bouncing around 188 to 192 the past month. I like working out, but I like beer and chocolate. The journey continues. I hope you are feeling better.
yangster - I like Body Project a lot and strongly and thinking about buying the membership package. I took ciecie’s advice and do some Sansone walk videos which are fun - Leslie Sansone is a trip. I also like Hasfit for strength videos and those can be challenging!

Today I mowed the lawn and then went to the lake for a 7 mi walk. I feel great. Mexican tonight as all the girls are hungry. I am looking at what I want.

Hi yangtzer! Do you check in on your phone? I have used my phone when I'm out of town. I have not considered using any other type of social media. I am on facebook and think about getting off there frequently.
