I will have to make those days fasting days and hope I can at least keep the 2 lbs off.

Carol Sue It is very difficult to do VLC when cooking for DH. Thus the reason more of a 2MAD with 1 snack works best for my lifestyle. I sure did want my homemade low carb taquito when I got home today but I decided that the day I WI at bariatrics is the best time to eat a higher carb meal to give myself time to keep the weight from coming back on WI days. I am making DH chipped beef on biscuits today and will try to eat very little this evening.

I read yesterday that chia seeds not only help with getting rid of visceral fat, but it is an anti-inflammatory as well as a good laxative. So many other good health benefits like lowering cholesterol and triglycerides and raising good cholesterol so I've decided that at night I will eat some in my yogurt as a snack. It said to eat 2 T but I will ease into it by eating 1 T for a while and see how it works for me. I measured today and I have lost 1 inch under breast, 1.5 inches around waiste and .5 inches in my hips since January. So I am losing inches even though I'm not always losing lbs and that makes me happy.
Trish, I'm so glad you showed a loss at the center! I know this gives you incentive to work hard to hold onto the loss and continue downward.

I think it's so important for you and your family to continue your get-togethers. You are a very close knit family. DH doesn't usually see his brothers from one holiday to the next, and mine are gone. Enjoy the family while they are still here.

I bought some chia seeds once but never tried them as they look gross, and when I hear about how they gel when mixed with water, it just creeps me out. In most cases I will try everything, but I can't make myself eat them. I think I still have them but I don't know if they are still good. LOL Maybe I will buy some more. I could really use the benefits.

My DH is the same, that it's hard to eat VLC, but I always used to cook meat and veggies and fix a carb for him, usually potatoes. I haven't been cooking much meat lately because everything I mention he says he doesn't want. Today I wanted spaghetti. I only make it about once a month or less. DH isn't crazy about it but it is a cheap fast meal. I only had a half box of spaghetti so he was going to the store and I told him to get a box. He brought back 3 boxes because it was on sale!! He doesn't like me to make it very often, so why buy 3 boxes???? LOL I didn't say anything. He was probably embarassed to go through the check out with one. This is going to last me a year!

How are you feeling about the Coronavirus? I am not concerned because it is not in PA, yet. I never buy hand sanitizer because they say that it kills off good bacteria as well as bad. I use Clorox wipes for cleaning counters and such. I just depend on good hand washing. I don't go out among people a lot, except for Walmart and the casino. Maybe I can use that as an excuse not to go to the casino. LOL I guess we can just hope and pray that we don't come in contact with it and do the best we can.

Carol: best excuse to avoid the casino. I am not worried out here at this point, so far our COVID victims have all come from China or Iran. They are diagnosed quickly and quarantined. But when we get the people who have not travel. lled catching it from contact with these travellers, then it will spread. It is more deadly, but less contagious than influenza. We shall see how it plays out here. We won't be like China and weld shut the exits of apartment buildings while we quarantine whole cities, so ending international travel is the only way, but that depends on not having it in the country and spreading through the people who have not travelled.

I enjoyed a treat last night, had GF fish and chips with coleslaw. I did not weigh this morning, and will plan to fast again today as 2 eating days.
I am hoping that fasting every 3rd day will get the weight down.

Have a good day everyone. Its spring like here.

One rumor I heard is that many people are getting milder cases. That gives me a little comfort. It is spreading very quickly, plus there could be people who are not reporting it. They are advising people not to go to the doctor, urgent care or ER without calling first. All they can do is test for verification or provide comfort. I would not want to work there right now or need to be hospitalized for surgery.

Carol Sue I'm not concerned about the virus. DH DD has been putting things on FB about it. She works in a doctor's office and she stressed pretty much what I saw the Surgeon General said. Wash your hands properly and don't wear masks. I found it interesting to learn that the people who have it are the ones who should be wearing the mask to keep from passing it to others although today I heard that it isn't that easy to get it. I read this morning that wearing a mask can make you more likely to get it. I always thoroughly was my hands when I come home from anywhere so I trust it will be enough. I haven't heard of any cases here in TX either. I think like Fatmad said they are doing in Canada is what they are doing here. They are taking people coming in from China and putting them in quarantine. So I don't worry about it.

My weight is up 2 lbs today which I knew would happen because of the chipped beef meal I had yesterday. My legs were swelled but I didn't take a fluid pill. I figure it will come off. I'm back OP today. I'm going to work on making this a 2MAD. I really want to get back to that eating schedule. My FBG was 105 so I didn't do any damage in that area.

I ended up taking 1/2 a sleeping pill last night so I am in a lazy mood today. So not doing much today. I just hate having to take them just because of how I feel the day after.

Y'all have a great day.

Trish, I read online that the people who have it should be wearing the mask to prevent passing it to someone else. No one has the masks anyway, and people are wearing them wrong. I am a hand washing fanatic but I still got that cold.I saw a map online and the only place that doesn't have it is S America and Africa. I hope it stops as it warms up like the flu.

I didn't get weighed today. I feel fat.

Doing find 152 this morning, fasted 36 hrs. So my fish and chip dinner didn't hold on too much and I am doing fine. I may do the same again, eat supper tonight for OMAD and eat 2MAD like normal tomorrow before fasting again.
Buddy is doing fine after the vaccination and no side effects etc so we are off for a good walk early today because I work all day today. Need my walk now or I may not get it.
Have a good day.

I did terrible with my eating yesterday so I'm back OP deciding to do the original CAD with the FB group. I'm having my CM (low carb) omelet this morning for breakfast and then DH wants BLT for lunch so I'll have that with him and then I just might have an egg or tuna salad to end an 16:8 hr IF. I've got to get a routine going for me and this is a good place to start. Weight is stuck at 201 but FBG was 113 this morning and I really want to work at getting it lower. This way of eating has always fit my lifestyle because of DH so why not just stick with it and move on.

Fatmad Glad Buddy is doing well with the vaccine. He surely does help you keep up with your walking. That is another thing I've got to get back to and that is my exercise. I'm working toward 4 days this week. IF is good for you too and I've been reading on FB Keto/low carb groups that many of the people say that IF is what made their diet work for them. I saw that one person does a 18:6 ratio. What I'm seeing is that any type of IF ratio will work. It seems to be the consistency of the ratio that you choose to do that works. Therefore for now I'm going to work at just doing the16:8 ratio.

Carol Sue I am a fanatic about washing my hands too so I guess that is another reason I don't worry about germs. DH and I used to come home from the nursing home and wash our hands like crazy because of the things you can pick up in those places. We do the same thing when we come home from the stores. I remember a little pastor's wife years ago who had been a nurse in England. She would tells us girls at the church, "You girls need to go in the bathroom after shaking hands with these men at church and wash your hands." She said these men go to the bathroom and most of them don't even wash their hands after going to the bathroom. We had never thought of that. That is one reason I carry hand sanitizer in my purse and use it even at church because I never have forgotten what she told us.

Well, I am feeling better today so I'm back OP and I'm going to get my exercise in today as well as get some cleaning done to my house. Talking about cleaning our hands etc, I've let it go so since long before Daddy passed away because I didn't have the energy to do it, but now I need to get back to keeping my house clean. Have to think of it as added exercise.

Can you believe that we set our clocks forward this Sunday? I don't want to allow spring fever to set in so I got to get myself organized.

Y'all have a great day.

Trish, I want to know how the pastor's wife knew that the men didn't wash their hands after using the restroom?? Did she have a peep hole? LOL

Speaking of handshaking, that is something I rarely do. It just isn't customary around here. I don't do it unless someone extends their hand. For some reason, I don't like touching or hugging and avoid it when I can.

I don't have hand sanitizer. I have never used it because they tell you not to, that it kills good bacteria as well as bad. The same with antibacterial soap. I have done fine with just soap. I use the wipes going into Walmart, and might start taking some wipes to the casino in a plastic sandwich bag. They might start putting out hand sanitizer. I have seen people wearing laytex gloves. No masks so far.

My Wt is up again, 3 days in a row. I have been eating carbs so the increase is water wt, but I don't like it. Less than 3 lbs total.

DH wanted to go to the casino but I was a meanie and said No.

Carol Sue I always suspected that either her DH didn't wash his or he had complained about other men not washing theirs. I have been surprised at how many women don't wash their hands when I see them in the restrooms when I go when at the store or restaurants. You would think at least more women would wash theirs.

Knowing it is Thursday, I wondered if your DH would want to go to the casino today. Now you know you will probably have to go tomorrow or sometime this weekend. LOL

I got a call from my cousin whose Daddy was in the VA hospital here in town and told me that he passed away last Sunday. His funeral is next Monday. He was a WW2 Veteran too. We knew he wasn't doing real well when Daddy was sick. My heart goes out to her. She plans to spend time getting her house fixed up and sell it so she can move to NY state where her Daddy's family lives since she is alone now. She has a brother but he doesn't come around. He didn't even come to see his Dad.

So far so good with my eating today. I've decided to take advantage of my bariatric app because unlike MFP they don't care how many calories I use or don't use. So days that I'm not hungry enough to eat all my allowed calories it won't be a big day. I am using it to plan all my meals/calories for the day ahead of time then if I don't eat all them, I can erase them.

Got my 20 minute bike ride done for today. DH has asked to take my beauty appointment in the morning so that will give me an extra 30 minutes before going since I will take hers which means I will have time to get my 4th day of exercise done tomorrow on the bike. She and BIL are going out of town to see their DD so we won't be going out to eat tomorrow after all. That is good since we plan to eat at church after services Sunday.

My step daughter never washed her hands because she didn't want to wash off her hand lotion or mess up her nails. I think a lot of women feel that way. I always told her to, but she doesn't live here any more. She always has colds.

Sunday was our casino visit for this week and we lost money so I don't plan on going again until next week. We don't have free buffets until next Thursday or we have half off after the 15th. That has a lot to do with whether we go a second time unless we win. He can want it all he wants! They never give free buffets for Friday and it is $29.95 because of crab legs. We don't even eat crab legs. He doesn't like to go on Saturday but if I said "Let's go" he would jump! LOL

I don't like MFP but use it because it syncs to Fitbit. I prefer Fitday. I changed my MFP to show potassium instead of sodium since I never have a problem with sodium. I noticed I was getting almost no potassium. I entered a baked potato and it showed no potassium, and I know potatoes have a lot. So I searched for a different baked potato and sure enough, it showed 855 mg potassium. So I don't trust MFP at all. But i want the calorie count entered on my Fitbit, and don't know how else t do it.

Wt is finally down 1 lb but I should not be having these bump ups. It is amazing how little some people are eating on other forums to get a loss. It is scary what people have to do! OMAD of 6 jumbo shrimp and just tea the rest of the day. I realize I am eating too much in my eating window. I would have to give up my eggs to lengthen my fast. But the eggs are not the problem. My mind says "This is my eating window!". I need to revert back to eating only when hungry. Oh the games we play.

I am 151 today after that OMAD yesterday. If I keep doing what I was doing, I should eat again today and fast tomorrow. I will decide as we go, either way I don't eat until lunchtime at the earliest.
I had another bout of insomnia overnight. So that is 3 times this week after doing well for a long time. I also was feeling rather overwhelmed recently, many times in a day.
You may know that I instantly jump to thinking "is this dementia?" because of my mother having dementia. But really, feeling overwhelmed is more of a depressive symptom.
SO I think that its more depression getting worse. I was just at the docs, but we did not discuss depression or mental health, but that day I was not feeling it like I am now.
I have all the symptoms, except thinking of self harm or suicide. I am sad, but figured it was situational, (my dying cousin, and an uncle, one of my Dad's older brothers, just died) and depression. Will have to decide soon if I need to speak with the doc about medication adjustment. I had felt I was doing really well.
I know at January's end I would have said I didn't have a blue day all month, since getting Buddy.
February had a few ups and downs, but I figure normal or even better for that time of year.
I will give it the rest of the week before I chat with the doctor and see how things go.
Trish: you are doing well, keeping on top of how any changes to your WOE are affecting you, keep going, we want you in Onederland permanently!
Carol: it is HARD. Our bodies want to keep our weight where it is, or even gain and eat more. Not eating isn't natural.
I am finding that staying LCHF on my eating days makes a big difference. But again, that's not easy. I do eat some fruits on my eating days, which isn't strictly on plan that way. But I do have to limit that.
I have no booked visits today, but have to follow up with some clients and maybe do some other work at the office.
Have a good day everyone.

Mad, I am sorry you are feeling depressed. Do you think that knowing your mother suffered with dementia could make you question every symptom, when it's just the sad things going on in your life? Don't get me wrong. I have no idea what I'm talking about. I guess I don't want you to have dementia so I'm grasping at straws. I don't mean to make light of your issues.

I know that staying lower carb would make a big difference. For most of my life I have had issues of just eating things impulsively because they are there. I have to be ever vigilant to avoid that. Popping the food in my mouth happens in a split second if I'm not constantly working at avoiding it. Yesterday DH bought some off brand ice cream at Dollar General. It was very low quality but I still ate some, and went back for seconds. Why? I was not hungry, it wasn't a good quality ice cream that I know I love. Ice cream wasn't even on my mind. But there it was so I ate it. If I had thought about my goals I would have known that it wasn't going to taste as good as I imagined, and was going to interfere with what I want the most, weight loss. I have to stop and think before I eat. I won't take into consideration that my weight went down the day after eating scrappy ice cream. I think that had something to do with bowel movements to be honest. When I type it out it all makes perfect sense.

I ate my eggs this am. My goal is nothing else until dinner which will probably be fish of some sort. And I will stop buying things that will be healthy snacks because I don't plan on any snacking, even healthy. Before I eat anything I will think "Am I hungry?" If the answer is no I will not eat. If the answer is yes, the next question will be " Is this going to taste as good as I think it will, does it contain nutrients that my body needs? " Or, "Will I be ok if I choose to ignore my hunger and wait a little longer? " Whatever it takes to get my impulsive eating under control. It's too bad I don't get impulsive exercising!

Fatmad I'm so sorry you are feeling depressed. My first thought was that you have had so much going on especially with your cousin becoming worse and the deaths you've had lately. I pray you will start feeling better.

Carol Sue I have had the same problems too with eating but I think I have learned that I do need rules or guidelines of a diet. I think that is why CAD is going to work for me.

Yesterday was Day 1 back on CAD and my weight is down to 203.2 this morning from 204 yesterday. I am going to continue this and see how it turns out. I don't do the rule of CALP with plate divided into 3rds, I follow the original just eat my carby foods during the 60 minute time limit. Then I eat low carb for breakfast and a low carb snack later in the evening. I think it is going to work pretty well. I just had eggs, bacon and shredded mozzarella cheese on the eggs. I wanted the 1/2 avocado but it isn't CAD CM so I didn't eat it. I'll save it for RM.

Headed out to the beauty shop and trying to decide if I'm going to the local store today or Walmart. DH is almost out of his French Vanilla SF creamer and he only likes the Walmart brand so I guess I will end going to Walmart. I guess the walking around Walmart will be my 4th day of exercise today.

Y'all have a great day today.
