Well, I've had a busy morning. I got up around 8:30 but then I slept in my chair most of the evening. Just can't do those 5:30 am wake up any more. LOL Even after sleeping in my chair, I went to bed before midnight. So I guess I was making up for the sleep I missed yesterday.

Called to check on my friend who was my beautician in SC. She was sick all last week and is on some sort of special meds. Not sure if she had the flu or if they thought she might have the virus. Any way she was feeling better. She said they were going to have to close the beauty shop and only essential businesses open around 5 pm today. So a lot of places are shut down now. We talked for over an hour. Then DS called and we always talk a long time. Then I sent a text to DGS that I was not going to keep DGGS until after this virus pandemic is over. He was close by and called to see how we were doing and asked if he could come by to see me for a few minutes and get a hung. He came and visited for about 15 minutes. Turns out the plumbing job that he had decided not to do the dig they had planned to do today. He said they had a full day of appointments planned but people were calling and canceling their appointments. We had a good visit and he said if we need him to go get us anything to just let him know and he would go get it for us.

I think we have enough of what we need for now. If this goes too long and I run out of cauliflower for DH, DS orders her meds from the local store and picks it up so if I need it she will get it for me and I can get it from her. So we are pretty much covered.

Carol Sue Glad you scales are moving downward again. I'm bad about letting the scales affect my mood too. I'm trying to stop letting it do that to me. I'm wondering if that isn't why I'm stalled. I'm having to adjust to the fact that I am in a stall and realize that as long as I'm not gaining that a stall is a good thing and eventually the stall will go away and the weight will start moving down.

Fatmad It is nice that you have your DD there to do the cooking. I'm sure y'all will take the necessary precautions at your community sing. I love how your community comes together and is so close knit. We had that for a while in SC in the beginning when we first moved there. All of us original buyers in that part of the street were close knit and checked on each other all the time. We don't have that here. It was like that here in this town when I was growing up but as some moved out and others from other cities and states moved in, I see that it seems to have changed.

I too pray that we can all stay healthy. Have a good day.

I screwed up. I took my evening Metformin and grabbed a G and took it. Then I realized i didn't test first. So I did. 117. Way too low to be taking G. So I ate two pieces of toast. I will have to check again before I go to bed and might have to eat a caramel or 2. I am still craving ice cream. That would do the trick and I would enjoy it.

I'm ok. I did not get a low and blood sugar is 97 this am. Whew!!

Yesterday I cooked a ton of veggies to go with the pork and sauerkraut. Carrots, broccoli, cauloflower, Brussels sprouts. My intention was to save some to heat up today but we ended up eating them all. I ate a lot, figuring they were low calorie and full of fiber. I only ate 1 piece of pork and 1 piece of smoked sausage. The sauerkraut was step sons homemade and was really really good. I ate a ton of that, too. Low calorie but lots of sodium. So I expected to have a belly ache last night, but I didnt. I was fine. I haven't weighed yet. I'm afraid to because of the sodium and the toast I had to eat last night. But I probably will because if I have a good weigh in I will have a very happy day. Here's what I do. I get on the scale without opening the scale app. That way if it's bad it does not get permanently recorded, so to my thinking, it didn't happen. If it's good, I open the app and weigh again. For some reason, this scale weighs me the same no matter how many times I get on. One time only, it hesitated at 190 but then fell to 189. I was never obsessed about my weight like I am now. I used to be annoyed with others who were so obsessed. Now my weight is almost my most important concern second only to our health. I think this new scale has caused this obsession. Or maybe it's because I'm bored and there's nothing else to do. I really could become more obsessed and cut my eating back even further but I still have concerns about health especially during this pandemic. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.

Well, Carol Sue I did weigh this morning and I probably should not have. We had hot dog with left over chili yesterday and with all the sodium I knew I would have a bump and I did. Weight this morning was 204.4. FBG up to 119. I knew this would probably happen.Scale has too much hold on me. I was ready to stop going for my shot. But I will work harder at getting things under control. I seem to be in the mully grubs as DS calls it but not sure why. So it surely is no time to make a major decision like stopping the shots so I won't.

I made myself one of my low carb taquitos with 1 sl bacon and 1 egg with just enough mozz cheese for flavor. I've got chicken tenders in the crockpot for our main meal today. I'm considering doing 5:2 IF. I will need to re-read more about it. I'm still reading from the psychiatrist's book and she says everyone shouldn't do keto but when you do you should be on it for only 6 weeks at a time with time off in between but don't remember if she said off one month or a few weeks. I found that interesting. She also suggests it as a kick start to lose weight. But I'm still not ready to get into keto yet.

Carol Sue My scales works the same way. Whatever it gives me at first it seems to stay there.

Hope we all have a good day.

Trish, I did weigh, 191.2, but did not turn on the app so it didn't get recorded. Today DH wanted Wendys for dinner so I only got a frosty and 4 piece nuggets because of how I've been craving ice cream. Why eat a lot of other food when what I want is ice cream.

What kind of chicken tenders do you have and how are you preparing them?

A 14 year old girl died in a house fire today. If school hadn't been closed she would have been in school. They don't know what started the fire. Maybe something she was doing.

Carol Sue I think the chicken tenders were just frozen ones I got from Walmart. Not sure of the brand. I just put them plain in the crock pot and seasoned it with garlic, onion and season salt. I use that seasoning for most things because of DH. He wouldn't eat it any other way. Then I have jars of Heinz gravies and I used the turkey gravy on top so DH would eat it. I sometimes use cream chicken or mushroom soup for a change. As you know when you have a picky DH, you do the best you can. LOL

I agree when you really want something that it is best to eat it rather than to eat everything in the house because you didn't get the taste that you wanted.

That is sad about the 14 yr old girl.

I've had 2 meals and I decided to just plan on my protein shake this evening. I think it is important to just go ahead and have it until I can get to the point where I won't have to have it.

Were the chicken tenders, boneless skinless, or were they breaded? I buy the frozen bags of boneless, skinless but sometimes we get the breaded ones in a restaurant. I don't know if DH would eat them if I made them at home.

They interviewed that girl's father and he seemed unaffected, but he might have just been in shock.

Our appointment for our taxes has been cancelled, or postponed. They said they might reschedule depending on how things go with the virus. I copied the forms from the IRS website and bookmarked the instructions. I am going to try to do them myself, following along with last year's. I used to do our taxes all the time but stopped when they had to be done online. I won't do them if I'm unsure. My sister-in-law is a CPA and I can ask her questions if I have to. She would do them for me but I don't want her to, but I might need help. If not, I will just wait to see what happens with the AARP tax service. They do it free.

Wt was 191.2 again this am. I am suspicious of that. There is a way to reset this scale so I will look it up.

I only fasted for 14 hours overnight and DH is cooking eggs now. I hope to do better tonight. I have been eating too many carbs.

Hairdressers are definitely closed here. The woman across the street goes every Friday morning and gets her hair done. I wonder if she goes to someone's house because she just came home with it done.

Not much to say today. I'll post more later.

I reset the scale. My weight went up 3 lbs. Then I got on again and it went back down. Who knows!! I want it to be right, but i dont want it to be MORE!!

DH does not want fish for dinner today. I want to make Mac and cheese but he might want scalloped potatoes. He can't go.more than 1 day without potatoes. I want to make some macaroni salad with tuna which is a favorite of mine. DH likes tuna but not in macaroni salad. So many carb foods but it's hard on Friday during Lent when we don't eat meat. I will try to keep portions small.

Tomorrow I plan on doing some cleaning. I could start today but then I will miss my soaps. I am really loving all this staying home. DH is NOT. I'm not happy about the reason but am not looking forward to the all clear and a return to the casinos and other places he likes. Then I want to get into the habit of cleaning daily so it stays that way. I could drop in on my friend at any time and everything would be sparkling and nothing out of place.

Carol Sue I don't buy breaded anything. I could put a batter on my chicken but I don't. I also buy skinless, plain chicken. Now I do on rare occasions for something different cut my chicken tenders and bread them myself and make chicken nuggets, but I haven't done that in quite some time. The only time we have actual breaded chicken tenders is when we get it from Bush's chicken fast food. DH likes those with their luscious rolls and gravy. Of course, when we get KFC we get original dark meat chicken. I really don't like to have meat with bones very often since we have trash pick up only once a week these days and I don't want the bones in my trash can. When we do have meat with bones, I put them in a plastic bag in the freezer till the day the trash goes out as I do anything I can't put down the disposal. I would love to get a better disposal like I had in SC and have DGS and DH put it in but haven't. These put in these houses they throw together these days are almost worthless. I never put bones in my good disposal, but it least it would grind up onion peels etc that this one won't. You definitely get what you pay for.

My scale was nice to me again today. Weight was down to 203.6 down .2 lbs from the long stall. FBG was 106 so it is a better day. My new scales I got last year doesn't bounce around much. I have had it go up a little higher a few times but only for a split second and then come back down to settle. Not sure why. I've often thought that since it only does .2 (even tenths) that maybe my weight was really an odd number but it won't show it. Live maybe it is .3 instead of .2. Who knows Any way I'm glad I'm down just a little and hope you were the lower number too. I don't always like the number on mine, but at least it is consistent and not all over the place in the space of 2 or 3 times of checking my weight. Using the old scale, I would weigh several times and use the number that showed up more often. It was a guessing game as to if I was right or not.

Not much going on here. I haven't done much here. It is strange how all this is working. I talked to my old beautician in SC who is also a good friend. She said they closed down the shops in NC but they can still open and work in SC. We assume it isn't as bad in SC.

I don't mind being stuck at home either. I stay up till I'm sleepy which was a little after 1:30 am last night and I got up about 9:15 this morning. I put on a batch of yogurt this morning and folded clothes while talking to DS and we stayed on the phone way too long. It is hard to keep up with what day this is because of no place I have to go. Today would have been hair day, but I washed mine yesterday and then fixed it this morning just enough to not look like a slob. LOL I hope I won't have to wash it again to go get my shot Monday.

Hope everyone is staying safe.

Trish, we have woods on the hill behind my house with critters, like ground hogs and raccoons. When we have bones and meat scraps we put them up on the hill for the critters to eat. Since we started doing that we rarely see them down in the yard. We are on our 3rd disposal since we moved in. 38 years. Now we only put scrapings from the dishes in there. Everything else goes in the trash.

I might try my chicken in the slow cooker. I make it on top of the stove with a can of diced tomatoes and mushrooms. Or in the oven with. Cream of chicken soup.

Tonight they are putting our county on stay-at-home. I don't know what the difference is than what I'm doing now, but I guess people will not be allowed to run and walk in the parks or go.to church. We are still allowed to go.out for food, to the bank, to the gas station etc. They still haven't told us where our cases are. The only ones we know are the woman who chapperoned the trip to NY and a woman in a nursing home. There are 24 altogether. No deaths so far.

I will find out tomorrow what my scale is going to do.

Yes, we all socially distanced for our community sing. Also had cocktails outside with friends, sitting about 8 feet from each other and no sharing of snacks of course.

Having DD here is great, she is using the veggies better than we do. Of course, we would not have bought so much at once, but she is good about using/cooking up the veggies and rounding out the meals that way. Enjoying it all.
I did early morning yoga today, and DH took Buddy out for his walk early, which is usually my walk. I think DH was having trouble with sleep and he wanted some exercise.
I suspect we are all getting a bit antsy being inside and around each other so much.
I am working to stick to a 16 hr fast daily, and not trying too fast. With people cooking every evening, its just a kind of hard time to fast, so I will not focus my efforts there for now.
Glad everyone is staying well. I had a mild sore throat/ear ache for a day or two. I think wearing the surgical mask all day causes it, it seemed to get better quickly when I went off call and off work for the weekend. Catching up on sleep, am feeling quite tired, but it IS explained by not sleeping well and having my schedule affected by interrupted nights for work, so not likely a symptom.
We are using facebook messenger for a video call to have tea with friends later this morning. People are creative when it comes to life these days.

Remember how much I loved my new scale? Now I hate it. I don't remember how much I weighed this am but I think it was 193.4. Yuk! I'm miserable now and don't want to clean.

DH wanted to go to Wal-Mart this am. All because he likes their GV bread. Otherwise we could go local. The store 1 mile away has most everything because they limit. But he doesn't like their bread. I got most of the things I wanted but some I had to get a different brand. They were out of sausage but I did the rest of my shopping and came back and they had put it out. They are not stocking overnight like people say. From my experience the best time to go to our Wal-Mart is 10am M-F. They have had time to stock but haven't been busy enough to sell out of things. Weekends are bad. The whole world is there. LOL. I could not get eggs but I have enough til I can go to the local store. Sure don't want to run out of eggs!

Mad we were cross posting. I don't like squash, but I saw someone cooking with it on tv and now I want to buy some! DH doesnt eat it either and I probably wouldn't like it. It just looked good on tv. I love most others.

I have been coughing more than usual but I think it's allergies. My throat felt funny, not actually sore, but got better after I drank coffee. No fever. I dont think I would get tested unless shortness of breath was severe or temp would not come down. Not for a mild case. I would just isolate.

Last night a neighbor was setting off fireworks and another one has a big fiber optic tree in his yard. I don't know the significance of that. I didn't see it up close. The lights might be red white and blue.

Not much to report here. Weight stayed at 203.6 so I kept the lower # but I do wish it would go lower. I had a cup of coffee with an Atkins bar for breakfast. I saw a recipe somewhere of mushroom, gravy and ground beef so I made that for lunch with a salad. DH didn't say anything but I wasn't impressed. I'm not big on ground beef patty meals because we had it so much when I was a kid. DH doesn't like meatloaf the way I do and this wasn't even close to one. I do feel stuffed but if it works like it usually does, it is one of those meals that are not long term satiating. I would like to make this a 2MAD which I haven't been successful at doing, but will give a go any way. I really do want to get back to 20 hr fasts. The only thing I've been really good at this week was my exercises. I only missed one day.

DGS text last night to see what I was doing today and I had to remind him that we are staying in away from people. So he got his brother to keep his son. I hate doing hat but I want to be careful. DH gets antsy and wanted to go to Home Depot but finally decided to order what he wanted from Amazon. I wonder how long Amazon will be able to work since I read where some their warehouses workers around the country tested positive for the virus.

Mad, it is nice that your community could work out a way to stay in touch with each other and still stay safe. You are so blessed to have your DD to cook for you. Sure hope you will be able to stay well. You and other nurses and doctors etc are in my prayers.

Carol Sue I don't know why the neighbor did the fireworks but I read somewhere that someone said that people were burning their Christmas lights and suggested that others do that. I'm not sure what it was about. I think it was to be encouraging each other of hope, however, I didn't do it. The only thing we ever do is Christmas tree in a window and I didn't want to bother with it.

Sorry you don't like your scales. I would like mine better if they were nicer. But then I guess they would be if I was doing everything right which I obviously am not. Not sure why I'm not.
